 <title>Super Tuesday Wrap-Up</title>

 <description>02/06/2008 -
Hartford Courant Columnist Bill Curry: Photo By Chion WolfBarack Obama beats Hillary Clinton in Connecticut - but they draw across the country...John McCain takes the state, and a commanding national lead.

So, after Super Tuesday - nothing's really decided at least for one party. And, we're faced with a very long primary campaign between the leading Democrats.

What are things we learned after the 24 state primary? What trends and issues are most important to voters? And, have we reached a new level of voter participation? At least in Connecticut, record numbers of people turned out to the polls.

&amp;nbsp;

Today, we'll talk with our political analysts, Bill Curry and Larry Cohen, and the Secretary of the State.

And, local politics are in the news, too. We'll preview the Governor's State of the State address.

02/02/2008 -
On February 5th, the race for president hits a major milestone with Super Tuesday, a day where 24 states, including Connecticut, hold their primaries and caucuses. For many candidates Super Tuesday will be a serious reality check, and almost assuredly thin out the field of presidential contenders.

(l. to r.) Bill Curry, Dean Pagani, and Susan BysiewiczOn the next Front and Center with Ray Hardman, a preview of Super Tuesday. Who will move on, and who will finally concede defeat? Could Connecticut’s relatively small number of party delegates make a difference in this hotly contested race for President? What issues are Connecticut voters concerned about this election year? Joining Ray Hardman will be former Clinton Administration counsel, Hartford Courant columnist Bill Curry, former Chief of Staff to Governor John Rowland, Dean Pagani,  and Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz.

 <title>The Big Issue?  The Economy</title>
 <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/WnprAndCptvElection2008Coverage/~3/s37kIPvL6LA/big-issue-economy</link>
 <description>02/06/2008 -
Most people expected the war in Iraq to be the key issue of this presidential campaign.
But as the primary contests have unfolded the state of the economy has taken center stage. Fears of recession may even be changing people’s minds in the voting booth. WNPR has been talking politics and the economy with a range of voters around the state, and tonight we’ll hear a series of reports focusing on their views.

In Mystic, Harriet Jones has been seeking the views of the finance professionals who safeguard investors’ cash.

The crisis in housing seems to underlie much of the economic uncertainty plaguing the country. Mortgage markets and the credit system are still paralyzed as federal authorities puzzle how to deal with waves of foreclosures around the country. Harriet Jones has been speaking with one Connecticut professional who sees the effects first hand.

Small business is the engine of Connecticut’s economy. Almost half the workers in the state are employed by small businesses, and they make up the vast majority of private employers here. But they’re not the firms with the cash for lobbyists or public affairs specialists. So how does the contest look from the small business owners’ perspective? WNPR’s Harriet Jones talks to small business owners.&lt;img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/WnprAndCptvElection2008Coverage/~4/s37kIPvL6LA" height="1" width="1"/&gt;</description>
