Woerther Earns Promising Practice Award

Woerther Elementary-- along with 13 other Rockwood schools -- received nationwide recognition for a 2012-13 Promising Practices Award from the Character Education Partnership (CEP). The Promising Practices program recognizes schools that have developed specific, unique, and effective educational practices that promote character development. Woerther received the 2012-13 award for its Bully-Free School and Character Conversation Starters.

The Promising Practices awards program is administered by CEP as part of its National Schools of Character program. Click here to view other Rockwood school winners.

2013 Track Team

Woerther attended the Terry Lantz Elementary School Medium Division Track Meet held at Lafayette High School. Our students finished third overall, and we have two new school records! Our 5th grade girls won their division! Please read the 2013 Track Team News. Way to go, Woerther!

Accelerated Reader Medallion Achievers

Congratulations to all Accelerated Reader Medallion Achievers! Woerther had 150 students receive a medallion! This is quite an accomplishment!

Elementary Report Cards: Available on Parent Portal on June 3

Parents can find their child’s final report card for the school year online via Infinite Campus. In previous years, elementary report cards were either given to the student to take home on the last day or mailed in the summer to families after teachers had completed grading. New this year, parents can view report cards for students in grades K-5 online. A printed report card will no longer be mailed to homes.

Where can I find the report card?
Parents can logon to the Parent Portal on Infinite Campus and find their child’s report card.

When will the final report card be published?
Students’ report cards will be published on the Parent Portal on Monday, June 3. Parents are able to access this report card information until noon on Tuesday, June 12. If parents would like a printed copy of their child’s report card, please download it from Infinite Campus during this time.

Please contact your elementary school office if you have questions.

Duke Talent Search 2013

Congratulations to our 2013 4th/5th Grade Duke Talent Search participants from Woerther! First Row: Jonathon Ouellet, Hailey Benting, Aneka Busam, Leo Paul Lombard and Ian Lohse. Second Row: Esha Vij, Jack Downing, Haley Hume, Sarah Bergantz, Ethan Schwake, Marjorie Ware, Kyoko Wall, Kaitlyn Thomas, Shannon McCormac, Leah Joseph, Nithin Vijay, Madison Fischer, Patrick Harris, Rindha Kola and Morgan Ranchel. Eligibility for participation in the Duke TIP Talent Search for grades 4-6 is an honor requiring exceptional academic ability, and we applaud these students' achievements. Congratulations!

Congratulations to 1,300+ student athletes who participated in the district-wide elementary and middle school track and field meets held during the month of May. The track and field meets are just one of several district-wide athletic events that take place for students each year. Thanks to all the Physical Education teachers who committed their time to preparing students for the events.

Hershey’s Track and Field Games are coming to Lafayette High School on Wednesday, May 29, 2013. Join in the fun by competing in basic track and field events. View more information and register today!

Community Ed’s Track and Field Instructional Program is for athletes of all ability levels and introduces kids to the fun of of the sport. Led by trained coaches, athletes practice twice per week and participate in two intra-squad meets. The program is being offered at Lafayette and Rockwood Summit High Schools and runs June 3-July 20. Jacob Bieri auditioned with 700 children for The Muny Summer Productions. You can see Jacob in two shows this summer, Spamalot and Shrek. Way to go, Jacob! This is quite an accomplishment!

Community members make a difference at Woerther Elementary School. Character Congress honored our cafeteria workers, McDonald's and Papa John's Pizza for serving and supporting our school. We celebrated this with a special end-of-the-year event! We appreciate everything they do for us!
