There was also this whole weird bit where they fought the Avengers, but they were like, legally distinct “Revengers”, all played by a bunch of has-beens and never-weres. I remember Tony was fat, and had a mullet and a trucker ‘stache.

I don’t care how late I am with this joke, Pacific Rim is one of the best Kaiju movies ever made, and it says a lot about Idris Elba that in a movie packed wall-to-wall with some of the coolest stuff ever committed to film, Elba is STILL the coolest dude in the room.

John Noble is a wonderful, talented actor, and he’ll never live down how gross he ate that tomato that one time.

Feels a bit weird that this is basically the Christmas Wolfe & Newt strip. The next one won’t be up until January, but I guess Lord of the Rings is Christmas-y, right? I watch them every year before Christmas, so I think that counts. Yeah.

Poor Newt puts up with a lot, doesn’t he?

Thanks to my friend Serena for suggesting this one, this conversation sent us down a rabbit hole for a WHILE, the hardest part was condensing it into four panels. As best we could figure it out, Judgement Day is unavoidable, somebody’s gonna make an AI and it’s GONNA turn on us (the franchise has laid this out pretty clearly in T3, Genisys, and Dark Fate) but time travel in this franchise seems to follow Back To The Future rules for everything BUT John’s conception, leading us to believe that in the original timeline, John is no relation to Kyle, and sending Kyle back is just spinning off dozens of alternate timelines without ever actually altering their own continuum.

…I need a drink.

I worry probably too much about my comics being dated, but I feel like if the joke is that you won’t get the reference, it’s maybe funny even if you don’t get it? Either that or I’m a hack who should stop basing comics off weird thoughts I have in the middle of the night while I’m trying to sleep.
