Many fans across the world have been wanting and demanding a tour and Wolfmother have responded! Today they announced 6 dates across their home country, Australia. The tour has been named the ”New Moon Rising Tour”, which I think is a lovely and appropriate name, and it will be carried out through September 2009, obviously coming up close to the release of their new album, “Cosmic Egg”. The confirmed dates are as followed:

Thursday September 17 – The Tivoli, Brisbane QLD (www.ticketek.com.au)
Saturday September 19 – The Enmore, Sydney NSW  (www.ticketek.com.au)
Wednesday September 23 – Capitol, Perth WA (www.moshtix.com.au)
Thursday September 24 – HQ Live, Adelaide SA (www.moshtix.com.au)
Friday September 25 – The Palace, Melbourne VIC  (www.ticketek.com.au)
Saturday September 26 – Pier Hotel, Frankston VIC  (www.ticketek.com.au)

Tickets go on sale on Friday July 17 and are sure to sell out fast! All people who are lucky enough to get a ticket for one of the dates will also get complimentary membership to the Wolfmother Fan Club. Sounds like we are being made redundant as the Wolfmother fan site now… Let’s hope not!

Also over the past couple of weeks, the newly formed Wolfmother have also been confirmed at the odd festival over in the states, which is very exciting for those who live on the west coast. There are currently 2 confirmed festivals which are:

Saturday August 22 – Epicentre 2009, Pomona (California, US)
Saturday October 31 – Voodoo Fest 2009 – New Orleans (Louisiana, US)

Currently, as I understand, there still are no plans for a tour or even a gig in the UK, but I guess us British fans will just have to wait, see and sit in jealousy as the other Wolfmother fans sit and gloat about hearing the new Wolfmother sound.

However now it seems that Cosmic Egg has been put back a month and will now (hopefully) hit the shelves worldwide this October coming.

This news comes directly from the Wolfmother Myspace Page. As spotted by a fellow forum member (Andre), half way down the page, there is the “Back Round” album artwork (below), which displays the words “Album Coming October 2009″ . Well this is good in a way, I mean at least we now have an actual month rather than an aim!
UPDATE: Andrew Stockdale has recently tweeted on his twitter page that Cosmic Egg will be released on October 13th! And it will be in 2009 (we hope).

Wolfmother officially announced today that they are virtually set to appear with many great artists on yet another Guitar Hero game!

The White Stripes, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and Beck is just a sample of the fantastic artists which will be appearing on ‘Guitar Hero 5′ and I think you will agree that it is looking like a fantastic game in the making!

Further yet, Wolfmother are continuing the free give away of their latest single,’ Back Round’ by letting fans download it from the Guitar Hero 5 Website. So if you have yet to download the new Wolfmother single, all you have to do is go to the website and register and it’s yours!

Rumours of Wolfmother on Guitar Hero 5 were first raised when a statement confirmed that Alan Moulder would be producing their up coming album ‘Cosmic Egg’. It is now apparent that Alan Moulder worked with Andrew Stockdale to record a Back Round for Guitar Hero 5, which hopefully means that it’s still going to sound as awesome as the track originally sounds.

For those who are eager to buy Guitar Hero 5, it will be released on the 1st of September 2009, which is making September one of the most anticipated months of the year for all Wolfmother Fans!
