N79 firmware updates to v31.002

Quick news. Phat^Trance brings reports of a firmware upgrade to v31.002 for N79 owners over at Daily Mobile. The news is also reported (amongst others) on Nokia Mobile Talk by Mobile Jorge.

There’s no changelog as yet, but both the guys want to know if you have spotted any differences, so hop through the links and let them know.

N900 - a ‘game changer’?

Alex has brought us his thoughts on the N900 over at Nokia Phone Blog, and he thinks it could be the start of ’something exciting’.

He discusses the build quality - ’solid’ with a ‘tactile and clicky’ keyboard - and the UI, the most impressive aspect of which is the ability to control multiple desktops. He also reckons that the device represents a new offering - a ‘user-powered mini-computer for power users’.

Never ones to spurn a good unboxing video, we fully embrace this N97 Mini effort from Telefonino - completely in Italian - but the device is there in all its glory.

N97 firmware - the list

Mike Macias from N97 Fanatics, along with EverythingBlaxx and Amir, has posted a bullet pointed list of changes brought by the v20 firmware.

There’s some that you might not have noticed (like the subtleties in the photo and music libraries), and if you haven’t updated yet, or not considered the full changes, this is a great place to have a first look. The comment stream is full of discussion and further additions to the list.

N900 camera - sample pics and video

tnkgrl is impressed with the camera on the N900, so impressed that she goes as far as to say it ‘walks all over the competition’.

She includes a slideshow of snaps and a video. She also talks of the ‘especially polished’ UI and that the camera isn’t an ‘afterthought’ like it is on other devices.
