It's been quite a while since I have done an interview here and it's now time to get it going! I have promised this special person an interview and I hope I do her justice.

This woman is an incredible artist who has one trait that shines above all others, she has originality. Many artists struggle to find their "voice" but this one stands out from the crowd and has a style which is unlike any other.

Who is this most talented artist and blogger? She is none other than the unbelievable
Emila Yusof!
She operates and hosts her own blog, Emila Yusof Dot Com. If you've never seen her work, you are really missing out.

Emila is not only a great artist, she's a beautiful woman with a beautiful soul. She is super friendly and has become one of my best friends here in the blogosphere! I could go on all day about how great she is but let's meet this talented artist and read about her in her own words.

WGM: Hi Emila!

Emila: Hi Bobby!

WGM: Before I get into the main questions, I want you to know how much I LOVE your artwork!

Emila: Thank you so much, Bobby! I am so glad you love my art!

WGM: How old were you when you began drawing and tell us a little about your art experiences as a child.

Emila: I began drawing when I was a 5 year old child growing up in an army camp in Melaka. We lived in a house by the ocean. I remember how my mother taught me how to draw the beach; the coconut tree, the birds, seashells etc. I also remember having lots of fun getting a coloring guide from my father. He taught me how to color right. Other than that, it was purely out of passion. Like other kids, I drew almost on anything that I laid my hands on; my father's books, the wall, my own palms, my pants, shirts and the new encyclopedia set that my father bought for us siblings! But it was sure fun having my own drawings beside the illustrations in the books!

WGM: So many artists strive to be unique. You seem to be unique and unable to not be. What do you think are some reasons for this?

Emila: I invest a lot of myself in each piece. When you see my artwork, you will see pieces of me, what’s on my mind and what brings me joy. Maybe this style can be called unique.

WGM: Your art captures so much emotion and viewers get a warm feeling from seeing your art. Some of it is because your art has the feeling of a child's fantasies. Tell us how children have influenced your work.

Emila: Children have always been the influence in all of my children-based artworks. I am inspired by my own son, my nieces, nephews, my own childhood memories, the neighborhood children, not leaving behind the children that I have worked with during my 8 years stint with a Marketing Department in an established company in Malaysia not so long ago. Despite handling all the creative pieces for the company, I was given the task to handle the outdoor marketing programs that involved children. I conducted drawing & coloring contests and was having a blast! It was fun being around them; I got to be a child myself! Yes, I practically joined them in coloring my own coloring sheets! I might be a mother but I do have an ‘inner child’ in me! So whenever I create children-based pieces, my inner child will emerge and all the childhood excitement and fantasies came to life. The girl I was at 5 is still me, not someone from the past.

WGM: I love the organic color you use in your art. Your choice and perspectives of color make your art feel alive and magical. Why is an artist’s use of color so important and how do you see it as part of your style?

Emila: An artist’s use of color is important and sometimes they use colors to evoke certain emotions. Other times artists use colors simply because they are their personal preference and like the way they look. I love using organic colors; strikingly saturated. My choice of colors comes primarily from intuition and truthfully, these colors simply make me happy. I often associate artists with colors; Klimt with gold, Matisse with red, etc, I do hope that people will associate me with my colors choices.

WGM: Who are some artists or people who have influenced your work?

Emila: Basically, I am training myself to be an illustrator and find quite a list of children’s books illustrators such as Carl Larsson, Jessie Willcox Smith, Cris Arbo and many more influencing my children-based artworks. My watercolor pieces are influenced by Georgia O’ Keefe (floral), Jan Kunz (floral) and John Lovett.

WGM: Your art has a powerful impressionistic feel and does exhibit a unique abstract quality. Please tell our readers how you see this.

Emila: Before this, I don’t really know whether my art has an impact toward viewers at all! Thank you for your ‘powerful’ statement, you have just made me realize that my art has actually captivated attention! I am so honored that you think my art has that feel and quality!

WGM: You are now recognized as a leading Malaysian artist (I'm so proud of you!). I see you being known worldwide as a household name before long. What are some of your future plans and what would you like to accomplish?

Emila: Hehe…I am only a leading Malaysian artist-blogger in the All Malaysian Bloggers Project, Bobby! I still have a long way to go. My only reason for being known worldwide is because I have been actively participating in several art communities such as Illustration Friday and Monday Artday, where artists submit their art for the community members to view and comment. I am glad to find many great talented artists from all around the world and befriended some of them. Other than that, I also met great artists from all around the world through Imagekind and Greeting Cards Universe, two on-line stores, where I sell my artworks for fun. I also trade cards with many great illustrators and artists through Monday Artday ATC.

My plan is to write and illustrate children books locally and maybe internationally. For the time being, I do both illustration and graphic design but in the future, I wish to just write and illustrate more children books, besides painting pieces for my own gallery.

WGM: Thank you Emila for doing this long awaited interview with me. You have become such a great friend and I wish you INCREDIBLE SUCCESS!!!!! You are my favorite artist and I always love the warm feeling I get when looking at your work!

Promoting Breast Cancer Awareness Month

I've been tagged by Nafasg on their post, Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I also promised Marzie on her post, Pass the Pink Penguin! to help in the cause. (I copied your post Marzie)!

to pass on The Pink Penguin in conjunction with the ‘Breast Cancer Awareness’ month of October. In doing my bit to help spread awareness on the issue of breast cancer to women, here are several tips on how women can avoid breast cancer and remain healthy.
• Maintain a positive mental attitude
• Do aerobic exercise 3-4 times a week
• Practice breathwork and deepening body-awareness such as yoga
• Express your feelings to keep your energy flowing
• Ensure healthy eating habits and complement your food intake with the right supplements
• Avoid toxicity

How you can help raise awareness on breast cancer:-

1. Spread the word. Announce the event on your blog. You could write a blog post (like this), or a little note about it. Whatever you choose to do, just go ahead and tell your readers about it.

2. Go pink. Modify your theme if you know how to, or get yourself a pretty pink theme. If you run a website, turn your website pink. But if you don’t like pink, you could still participate by putting up a badge on your sidebar.

3. Design badges and banners. Design a couple of “Pink for October” badges or banners for other participants to use (for free) and to publicize the event. Some of the existing badges and banners can be downloaded from the Official Pink for October Site.

4. Design blog themes. There are a lot of bloggers who can’t even do simple designing, so if you are good at it, perhaps you could design and release a few pink themes?So, I am hoping that whoever happens to read my post, please do something to spread the awareness. It only takes a moment of our time.

Update for July 31st: I have just recovered from a major illness and am taking a much needed break. I apologize to all of the great WGM fans out there but this break is a necessity for me. I am starting to work on some new ideas and will be back up soon. No matter what some people think, it's quite alright to take a break from your blog every now and then - it's a good thing. Women Rock The Blogosphere!

As everyone can see, we have no interview this week:(

Don't worry because we have something very special coming this week! I have been running behind and luckily none of can be fired for it so ha ha ha! Since the interviews started there hasn't been a normal post because everything's been doing fine on it's own. I just want to thank everyone who reads this blog and say that women rock! There are some estimated 70 million blogs with an average of 10,000 new ones each week. I personally like women bloggers the most out of all of them. A friend of mine told me that if I ever get married that will all change. Of course if I were married I'd tell my wife, "I will do anything for you honey, as long as I don't have to stop doing the WGM blog!"
Or maybe it would be, "I'm so sorry honey! Let me go delete that blog and cancel my blogger membership right this second! Please don't leave me!"
Or even better, "I'm sorry! Let's get that front page pictorial tribute to beautiful you started right now! There will need to also be a fascinating interview with you, my sweet most beautiful woman on earth honey darling!"

Alright now, enough of the funny stuff. Women do rock the blogosphere, there is no doubt. Blogging has changed the world and women have been a HUGE part of it. Personally, I don't think they get enough credit. I am a little biased in favor of women, but what's wrong with that? Thank you women bloggers, you are what makes this blog possible and I say more power to every single one of you!!!!!

This week is a very special week here at WGM! This is my first interview with a upcoming media superstar and I have been very nervous trying to make sure I do everything right. A special thanks to Mariuca for calming me down and making me feel much more confident in doing this interview (thanks Marzie!).

We interview Media Lizzy (Elizabeth Blackney) and to say the least I am very excited. Lizzy brings a very unique perspective to politics and if you haven't checked her out I highly recommend you do. Like I said, Lizzy is an upcoming superstar and I believe before long you'll see her name along with other media giants like Geraldo Rivera and Barbara Walters (I have high hopes for this media babe). Lizzy is an incredibly beautiful woman who exudes a sexiness that is very classy. She is warm and friendly, and gets thumbs up from all of us here at WGM for being a class act and inspiration to women and men everywhere! I have been reading her book the past few days while simultaneously listening to her Blog Talk radio Program. Needless to say I am all about some Lizzy:)

WGM: Hi Lizzy!

Lizzy: Greetings! You are too, too kind. I am honored to just be here!!!

WGM: I have read your book (thank you for the free viewing, my copy has not come in the mail yet). I wasn't going to get into too many political questions, but I do have a few. In your book, you stress how important family and relationships are, especially now in this troubled world. What are some things that bother you about families and why is it so important right now?

Lizzy: Families, whether it is a traditional family, an urban family, a blended family, or any kind of "family" - we really must remind ourselves about some basic realities. We are at war - hiding that, or anything, from our children is a step down a very slippery slope. Our children are a new generation of leaders, they are remarkably resilient and I believe that telling the truth, setting boundaries, and exploring the 21st Century opportunities WITH our kids is exciting. By respecting future generations of leaders, we teach them self-sufficiency and a sense of duty that becomes a part of their soul. Drive-by patriotism is simply not enough.

WGM: I never thought of Bill Clinton as deserving his title of "sexy president". You discussed this in your book; how has this effected the world's perception of America and do you think most people see it for what it is, or not?

Lizzy: Pop culture in this country fascinates me. I think Bill Clinton represented all the wrong things when it comes to committed relationships. He was so eager for fulfillment, he wrongly sought satisfaction through unwise sexual escapades. I do not believe in rewarding promiscuity with power. Because of the obsession with his sexuality, it reflects negatively on good men - who live by the rules, respect women and live honorably.

WGM: Tell us some things about you now. From your earliest recollections, when did you start writing, and who or what in your life inspired you in your early stages?

Lizzy: I have been writing since I was a very small child. My father was a journalist, an editor - and inspired me in so many ways. My mother always encouraged my voracious appetite for information. She read every silly poem and short story for as long as I can remember. My Aunt Valerie, and my grandmother encouraged my imagination to expand and take in as much information as possible. I have been surrounded by books my entire life, so thanks to them - I am a passionate writer.

WGM: Yes you are! Who are some of your modern day heroes and some influences that inspire you now?

Lizzy: My mother. My Aunt Valerie. My daughter. My late husband, Raymyon - the man I dedicated my book to. My friends who have served, and are serving, in our nation's uniform. To be surrounded by remarkable people who give so much of themselves to others, and finding peace through selfless service is such a tremendous gift. There is a quiet confidence about our nation, the American way of life.

I admire former Ambassador at Large Pierre Prosper, who headed up the Office of War Crimes Issues, for the US State Department. He served as a prosecutor of Jean Paul Akayesu - a man who bears great responsibility for the 1994 genocide in Rwanda. A year or two ago, he was generous enough to share his pictures and stories with me. It was transforming. Pierre was the first person to prosecute a war criminal under the 1948 Genocide Convention and, in a move of brilliance - and great significance, he was able to get a conviction that ruled Rape as a Crime Against Humanity. What a compassionate soul, for women - it was a triumph. He returned dignity to so many women - and that is tremendously inspiring.

WGM: I think a lot of Americans are strolling along through their lives currently, and sadly don't seem to be as worried about terrorism right now. Have we let our guard down as a people?

Lizzy: Absolutely. War is awful, tragic - and bloody. It is exhausting. But it is worth fighting. The American people have been done a great disservice by the White House, the Congress, and the main stream press, and most voices in the blogosphere. Not properly, and boldly, explaining the basic facts about Islamic Extremism - has cost us a great deal of good will, and credibility on the world stage. It isn't the "illegal war in Iraq" that is the problem. It is that we are a secular nation fighting a Holy War.

Until we get real, things will not improve. Our daily discourse, our intellectual curiosity must be re-energized every day. I resist any argument that the American people are just not interested. It is the job of leaders to define the fight, make the case, and lead us into the future. Islamic Extremism is not an enemy to be defeated, like Communism or the Hitler Regime, during World War II. This enemy will not fade away as secular enemies have done. Their cause is entirely different. Their motivations are indescribably simple. They are not attached to life here, as we are. They view the earthly existence as a test, and nothing more. They are in a race to get into the Hereafter. We are about embracing life in the moment.

These two ideals are like matter - they cannot exist in the same space, at the same time.

WGM: Are we right now, at a the greatest risk of losing this country? What should be done?

Lizzy: Certainly not. I believe in the Republic. I am deeply in love with my country and I have faith in the American people. When the enemies begin to treat our streets as they do those in the Haymarket area of London, or Glasgow, or Madrid, or Bali... then I believe the American people will clamor for a vigorous response.

They will be thankful for the 2nd Amendment and the Patriot Act. In that order.

WGM: Lizzy, you are an inspiration to me. I see someone like you just fight your way up, and you are making it happen! What is success to you, and what are some hopes you have for your future?

Lizzy: What an insightful question! First, I am very grateful for this opportunity to be with you - and your readers. I am such a fan of your work, it's an empowering point of view.

Success for me is simple.... my daughter growing up, going to college, and finding her own definition of bliss - then living it. My personal success is right here, right now. If I ever make it on the New York Times list, that would be nirvana.

WGM: Will you continue maintaining your blogs and what about www.medializzy.com? Will it be your new, main home?

Lizzy: I will absolutely maintain my blogs. They each have their own flavor, and are a great place for open dialogue. At some point, I may bring it all home to www.medializzy.com - that site is getting ready for a bold new look. I am enjoying my new streaming radio show at BlogTalkRadio, The Media Lizzy Show. Mostly, I enjoy expanding my reach... and hopefully I will inspire a few people along the way.

WGM: I don't know how to thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to talk to us here at WGM. Thank you! I feel so inspired to take this blog to higher levels and interviewing you has been an experience none of us will forget. I wish you the greatest of success in the future and you have a fan in me and the members of WGM. Do you have any final words?

Hello to all WGM readers! I am proud to present a very special lady to you all here on the Blog Insider. She has been a big supporter and good friend to me since I started my first blog. I also support her and give her a big round of applause for for being such valiant blogger. She is the lovely, beautiful and sometimes disjointed Becca (Wonder Woman) author of the popular blog DiSjoiNteD INtelLigenCE. She blogs about everything, writes poetry and displays her real self for the world to see. When she's happy, sad or mad she'll let her readers know. She was one of my very first blogging friends and I learned much just by watching her go. Her blog displays every emotion and she always writes from the heart. If I had to describe how she writes in one word it would be passionate. She has been feeling a little down lately, as we all do from time to time, and I wanted to lift her spirits high with this interview and look at the incredibly wonderful woman behind her character, Wonder Woman. Now we bring you the very pretty and wonderful Becca!

WGM: Hi Becca!

Becca: Hi.

WGM: Why is it important to make blogging friends and how does that impact a blogger's success?

Becca: When I started my blog and for almost two years after, I had only two blogging friends. They were and still are the best friends I've ever had.

In March of this year, I found a couple communities that opened up the doors to SO MANY people who love blogging - and everything about blogging for that matter. This year has brought many new friends and many experiences that I never would have had had I not made friends throughout the blogosphere.

The greatest thing about all of my blogging friends is that they share amazing talent, variety, diversity, uniqueness, validation and support. I know that we share success, because we share those things.

WGM: How, or why did you decide to use Wonder Woman as your blogging identity?

Becca: I used to be just plain ol' Becca, but when I started blogging more seriously, I decided that I needed to emphasize the kind of woman that I want to be. I've always loved Wonder Woman, and she was just the character I was looking for. She serves as my inspiration to be a strong, independent, beautiful woman.
WGM: The title Disjointed Intelligence, explain what it means to you and how it relates to the character.

Becca: The title Disjointed Intelligence has multiple meanings for me.

Often when I write, I do it very disjointedly. A million thoughts are running around in my head and I catch them one by one in written form. Most of the time I'm able to draw connections between these thoughts and that's where the intelligence comes in.

The other, broader meaning has to do with the world and each person who lives or has lived throughout time. I've always been amazed by the effect we, have on each other. I know that something I do today may affect my next door neighbor, someone around the world, or even my great, great grandchild eventually. In this way, we're all connected. Our intelligence, and how we share it determines future experiences for many people. Many times, we are unable to see the outcome of our decisions, causing life to seem a little disjointed. Through blogging and commenting, I'm sometimes able to see those connections more clearly.

It takes incredible strength and Wonder Woman like powers to stay true to yourself and keep this perspective all the time. I can only aspire to be that great.

WGM: To me, some of the best bloggers show their dark, or down side. What is your opinion on that, and is their a line to be drawn?

Becca: In every situation, there is a line to be drawn. If you cross that line, it means you've gone too far. My blog is a personal blog, so I'm still experimenting with that line when I write. I've definitely shared my dark side and the times when I'm feeling down. I share these things because they are a huge part of my life. I know that I've been comforted by other people who have shared during their hard times too. There definitely is good that comes from writing, releasing, and sharing feelings- good and bad.

WGM: What do you love most about blogging?

Becca: There are a lot of things that I love, but the thing I love most is that it's an outlet where anything can be shared. I've found a great community where people care, and enjoy these little parts of my life- and I enjoy parts of theirs.

WGM:Who are some of your favourite bloggers, authors or poets?

Becca: There are SO MANY good bloggers out there a few that I love are: Chrystal of Boobs Injuries and Dr. Pepper, Charles at Heartache With Hard Work, and Alexander Trevi from Pruned.

Some authors and poets that I like are: William Shakespeare, Mark Twain, Ray Bradbury and C.S. Lewis.

WGM: What is something in blogging or blogs in general that you don't like?

Becca: I don't like junk blogs. They're out there just like junk mail only there isn't a junk blog filter that I know of...yet.

WGM: I want to say thank you so much for doing this interview with us! It truly means a lot to me and you have been a great friend:) Any final words?

Becca: I really appreciate the great things you are doing with this blog. I know many women who think that they don't do anything worthy of acknowledgment, and there a few men out there who don't give women the respect they deserve. This blog, little by little, is making the world a better place. Thank you for taking the time to get to know me, and for helping me get to know so many other good people.

We want to say thanks again to Becca and wish her much happiness in the years to come. I thought her junk blog filter idea was very cool and I would sure like to have one of those! She pointed out in her final words that lots of women don't feel worthy of acknowledgment. I want to point out why that is. It is purely the fault of men. I have very few men readers of this blog and that is disappointing. It takes a real man to truly appreciate women! I'm not talking about looking at pictures, I'm talking about listening to what they have to say and really understanding them. There just aren't that many real men out there. Thank you Becca and all women who read and are involved in this project. We are slowly showing the world a very special view on women. Wow folks, it's already time for a third Interview! The first two have gone over way better than expected and excitement fills the air. It's a tough job having to deal with all these wonderful ladies, but somebody has to do it. This week we talk with an emotionally charged, beautiful bombshell who just so happens to be a very sweet lady:)

She is none other than Amber, author of the heartfelt blog, Random Magus! She has a Masters in Mass Communication after which she worked in a couple of advertising agencies as Creative Manager, then joined a television channel in the creative department. Her blog is a very personal portrait of a woman who isn't afraid to reveal her inner turmoils as well as moments of joy with everything in between. Those of us that know her are aware of some very scary moments in her life and†of course we pray for all to be good. Out of respect for her and her family, we will concentrate simply on her.

I have found myself almost in tears at times reading and commenting on her posts. No matter what is going wrong in her life, she never wants or asks for sympathy; that makes her very special to me. She has become a good friend and regular reader of my blogs, and I, a reader of hers. Personal blogs like hers take readers on a journey through a full spectrum of emotion, and that is really what I love the most about her! She also writes a†blog entitled, College Essays, which is about marketing and business. This blog is one of the best I have ever seen on the subject. Now, we bring you the gorgeous and intelligent†Amber!

WGM: Hello Amber!

Amber: Hi Bobby and might I add how very flattered and happy I am that you asked me to do this interview. Seriously…thank you

WGM: Tell us Amber, who are some of the authors that inspire you and have influenced the way you write?
Amber: Ever since I can remember I have been reading books. As a kid my favorite author was Enid Blyton and I remember that I used to think I was a changeling and that my real parents were fairies that had left me at my parent’s doorsteps. I was quite a fanciful child. My mom and dad would get me loads of books; I guess that’s why I became bit of a loner. I love Somerset Maugham and the simplicity of his writing. Amongst other favorites would be Oscar Wilde, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Albert Camus, Peter Shaffer, his play ‘Equus’ is one my favs, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemingway, Ibsen, Chekhov, Tennessee Williams, Thomas Hardy, Milan Kundera, Ayn Rand, Bertrand Russell, Homer [I had Greek mythology in my ‘O’ levels].
I think it’s more my thinking they influenced rather than writing. My writing skills are nowhere remotely near.
Amongst the more contemporary ones my list would include Nick Hornby, Amy Tan, Fynn, Mark Haddon, Gerald Durrell, Christopher Moore, Alexander McCall Smith. One of my all-time favourites is Agatha Christie and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

WGM: You have hosted television shows and done freelance copywriting (wow). Please elaborate on this for our readers.

Amber: I used to co-host this show which was on the lines of King for a Day – we’d choose a caller and then they would have three wishes granted one of which was to meet with any famous celebrity. Freelance copywriting I do here in Dubai. I used to be Creative Manager at this agency called Prestige which was affiliated with Grey International

WGM: You were in a play, what play was it and what character did you portray?
Amber: It was a lead role in a soap called TV3K [blushing with embarrassment] … yes I’ve done some very frivolous things in life… but it was a fun experience and it was a kind of kick meeting people who had seen you on TV.

WGM: I know you love cats (me too). How many cats do you have, what are their names and what are they like?

Amber: I had 9 nine cats before I moved now two are with my mom-in-law coz she has a huge house where they’ll have room to play. I live in a one bedroom here so 9 cats was not possible to keep. My first cat Princess a black Persian was a gift from hubby then boyfriend. Then we bought Pauper. I called him Pauper because Princess was a truly regal cat and this one’s a cat that thinks he’s dog… seriously. Then they had 3 kittens, Buffy, Senti and Nakchari [which means snobbish]. Then the second lot, before I had the boys fixed, included Sher Khan, Dr. Jekyll and Miss Hyde [for obvious reasons one was extremely friendly and the other was one of the unfriendliest cats you could ever have]. Leaving them behind was one of the most difficult yet at the same time unselfish thing I have ever done. Before moving to Dubai my house was big enough to accommodate all of them They would love to sit on the Snooker table – and whoever would come to the house would find it a total trip to see them – 7 black Persian and 2 Himalayan the funny thing is that the white ones were off springs of the two black parents…. Now at my mom-in-laws Pauper and Buffy are strangely enough friends with the peacocks she has. It’s quite a sight to see them together. Oh this is making me miss them… and I can’t even go back as I have College:(

WGM: What do you love the most about blogging, and how has it affected your life?

Amber: I love the freedom that blogging gives you, to be able to express what you feel without being afraid of people judging you. It’s like a special bubble that all of us have created. We have friends here who know more about what we think about things and how we really feel, from painful childhoods to present nightmares and joys. These are things we hardly talk about in ‘real’ life’ where most of our conversations are nothing more than small talk. Plus we get to meet each other daily. During my dad’s bypass the kind words of support that people left made such a difference. For someone like me who finds it very difficult to open up to people and show what I am feeling, blogging has been a wonderful escape from that prison, because here I find that behind the shield of my words… I’m faceless, just a voice and so it is so much easier to express and connect to others. I just love that ability to connect without judgments.

WGM: You are one of my favorite people to leave comments. I love the way you respond and I really love to leave comments on your posts. How important are comments, and what do you like about them the most?

Amber: I think comments are the soul of blogging, to me not leaving a comments especially on blogs I am visiting for the first time is like I came to your house and didn’t say hello. I have had the pleasure of meeting such exceptional people more through comments than anything. Our blogs are more of a monologue and comments are a dialogue – they are what make blogging so much more than a journal or diary. That’s how you form your relationships.

WGM: Before we go, what are a few of your favorite blogs and bloggers?

Amber: I have so many… my very first friends were The Real Mother Hen and Blur ting, back when no one knew my little blog existed, so they hold a very special place in my heart. On my daily visit list are Greg of Greg’s Brain and Greg’s Writing Blog and his latest one, Paisley of why paisley, both your blogs, HollyGl of Remedial Rumination, Jeff of Psychosomatic Wit, Certifiable and Insanity-suits-me of Totally Pissed off, Titania of Finding Life’s Enchantments, Adam of Old Things under The Sun, Michelle of Crow’s Feet and Kombai, W for Wonder, Loz of Sunrays and Saturdays, Peter Haslem of Necessary Skills, Mark of The Naked Soul, Quasar9, Empress Bee and Apache whose blogs make smile every time. Through blogcatalog some of my friends are Zakman, tigergirletsy. Amongst my new discoveries would be Mariuca, Meleah Rebeccah, All over the Bored, Domestic Minx, Amel’s realm, It’s a Schmitty life. I hope I have not missed any.

This is the 2nd episode of our new dreamy and fun Blog Insider Interview. This week we talk with one of the sweetest, and genuinely lovable ladies anywhere on the web. She blogs about life, cute kittens, heartache and her career as a freelance copywriter. She is the one and only Mariuca, author of the blog Mariuca : Wish upon a falling star. She also goes by Marzie or Mariuca pls. The first time I met her, I knew there was something very special about her and we became friends instantly. I have learned much from her on the subject of writing and commenting on posts. The first post response I ever received from her was so heartfelt and warm, it helped me see the value of really listening and responding to a guest. That is a skill that can't be taught as it is a reflection of who she is. There is much more to blogging than numbers and trendy daily posts. Her site feels magical , and has beautiful artwork by her friend Emila.

Marzie also has her own on-line business, Mariuca's Perfume Gallery which captures her personal style. It is an elegantly designed, cozy little gallery with masterfully written descriptions and excellent pictures. She has got it goin' on!

It's not often to find a woman as exquisite and beautiful as Marzie, who is so nice and friendly.

WGM: We know you are a professional copywriter, and sometimes that can be a somewhat dry and technical writing style. How did you develop your style early on, and what or who inspired you to start?

Marzie: Bobby, I think every writer/copywriter has an innate flair for writing, which we’ve developed and adapted to the current style we possess today. Each one is unique, moulded from their respective experiences and learning along the way.

I’ve always had a passion for writing, my favourite subjects in school were English and Malay Language. I remember loving the essays we had to write back then, always found it challenging, even when others didn’t! Who inspired me was a college Professor who told me I had a knack for writing and should seriously consider a career in creative writing/journalism. That gave me the confidence and nudge to follow my dream!

WGM: Who are some authors and people who inspire you now?

Marzie: I love Danielle Steele, Jackie Collins and Sophie Kinsella. Blogs that inspire me in terms of my job are Copyblogger, Copywriters Blog and The Michael Fortin Blog.

WGM:Writing as a job on line sounds to many like an easy task. We know different. How do you separate fun time from work time on the web, and what are some of the challenges you face that drive you?

Marzie: It’s getting quite difficult nowadays to separate work from fun, especially since I joined MBL and BlogCat. I think I’m addicted! I don’t have a fixed schedule and usually work at odd hours of the day and night but I guess it takes discipline. Work is work and play is play!

Challenges would have to be rejections. Like it or not, they will come once in a while and that would get me down of course. It usually takes me 30 minutes to several hours to bounce back and that usually happens when I get a thumbs-up for a job well done!

WGM: When you initially started your blog, what drove you to get it going?

Marzie: I was inspired to start a blog right after I got back from a vacation in Tokyo. I felt totally rejuvenated and alive after such a wonderful time that I needed to share the “new” me with my friends! Hence the blog!

WGM: Tell us about the artwork and how that was conceived:

Marzie: I love the artwork! Thanks Emila! She’s the great graphic designer who designed my header. I basically gave her the concept of Wishing On A Falling Star and she tried to capture that in her design. We were colleagues once and now online buddies! WGM: What are your long term career goals?

Marzie: To expand my current operation, Wordsworth Creative Services, to include more services. Currently, we provide translation, copywriting, proofreading and graphic design. And to expand my blog into something great and loved by many!

WGM: Before we go, what to you love most about blogging and the web?

Marzie:I’m just amazed at the people in the blogosphere. I never knew they existed until I joined MBL and BlogCat. The amount of support, kindness and appreciation here is overwhelming! That sense of belonging is what I love the most.

WGM: Thank you so much for taking the time for this, I know how busy you have been. We sincerely wish you the best with everything you ever do. Any final words?

This week we are interviewing one powerhouse female blogger you all know. She is a force in the blogosphere that cannot be denied and her blog is in our opinion the most original community project on the web! Her name is Adria, author of InCinq. Adria has become a good friend of mine over the past few months and has always been supportive of me and my blogs and I definitely support hers. There are a lot of community projects out there but few have the artistic beauty and depth of the InCinq blog. Is it a photo-blog? I have to say it is much more than an ordinary photo-blog. It is hard to come up with a category for it. It encompasses multiple-categories such as art, poetry and real human expression. If you haven't taken part in her project, do yourself a favor and join in. When you do, you'll find it a very rewarding and completely unique experience. Now, the lovely and adorably cute Adria:

WGM: Hi Adria. I know you've told this story before, but not everyone knows it. Tell us how the InCinq project came to be and what it is about.

Adria: This winter, I was admiring the framed cinquain my little sister wrote and decorated for our dad. I marveled at how, in five short lines, she'd managed to capture a literary snapshot of him. I've always loved self portraits, and it occurred to me that it would be cool to pair visual and literary versions. The "cinqpic" was born.

WGM: What does your little sister want to be when she grows up?

Adria:She wants to be an artist, or "work with cheetahs." She's 9. :)

WGM: I know you are in college right now, what are you studying?

Adria: I'm a communication major.

WGM: What will you do when you graduate?

Adria: I'm not sure yet. (I just finished my freshman year.) I have a passion for singing, so that will always be a part of my life. I love working with kids (I'm a counselor at a camp for kids with disabilities). I want to play an active role in making our world a better place.

WGM: I hope we haven't seen all you have to offer to the blogosphere. Any plans for future projects on the web?

Today we start fresh with new ideas and we know you'll like it. Instead of trying desperately to write original cool stuff we realized we don't have to because it's right here, and it's easy to write about. Every week we will pay tribute to the ladies blogging all around us. We think the world of this weeks choice, and she's been very successful both on Blog Catalog and My Blog Log (and many other realms of the web). I have been presented the Thinking Blogger award by "Wonder Woman" (Becca), The author of Disjointed Intelligence. When I first joined Blog Catalog she became one of my first friends. She was the first to write a review of my site and that was very cool. Now she has chosen me as one of her five picks for the Thinking Blogger award. However I am not posting this because of any of those reasons. I simply want to point out a few things:

Becca encompasses the true spirit of a real blogger. She's very friendly, extremely intelligent and does have a fantastic blog. What makes her special is her heart and outgoing positive spirit, and coupled with her dynamic energy - make her a great member to have in any community. We should all take notes and make a better effort to help the community and those who live in it. Helping others, especially those who really need it is more important than any other factor in this colossal monster we call the Blogosphere!

This blog is now dedicated to the women bloggers everywhere. Now we don't have to wonder what to write about anymore. You all are in for some great surprises!!!!!

Yes Women Can

Do women have the ability to do all the things men can? I mean really, all things? I have said before that I do believe a woman president might be a good choice in today's world. What about violence and a woman's ability to confront it. Men generally are physically much stronger, right? In 1997, I was studying the Korean martial art of Hapkido under the instructor David Carr in Meridian Mississippi. This is a totally street oriented art with only one goal: self preservation. This art is similar to the Japanese art of Aikido which the actor Steven Segal is known for.

Our school piled up in several vehicles and took a road trip to attend a seminar in Jackson Mississippi at Wests Hapkido Academy. Master Jeff West is one of our highest ranking instructors and is Mr. Carr's chief instructor. We had a unbelievably grueling workout that left many of us sick and barely able to walk. The most incredible event we witnessed was Master West's wife. She was a very pretty, very feminine lady of average size and was friendly to everyone.

They called up four male volunteers from the crowd and they were instructed to charge and take Mrs. West down. I thought these were easy to understand instructions. She told her attackers that if thrown down to immediately get up without hesitation and attack her again. The first guy
was a young heavily built highschool football player weighing around 220 pounds. He charged and without even turning her head, he was effortlessly slammed to the ground after a painful technique was applied. The other three also were tossed aside. To see the look on their faces was priceless. She yelled, "Get up. . .attack!" They slowly got up and didn't seem as enthusiastic about the prospect of attacking Mrs. West the second time around. The pictures above show the highly skilled Mrs. West in action.

She demonstrated incredible skills with multiple attackers, even while blindfolded to show how she didn't need to see to protect herself. She took bats, clubs and knives from every attackers hands and was simply incredible. I wish I had a video of this but we weren't allowed to film. It was a day I'll never forget and I feel sorry for any man who makes the mistake of choosing this incredible female martial artist to attack. That was a day that changed my views on women in a most profound way.

Mothers Day

Mothers day is here again, the day to show our mothers how much we really appreciate them. Whether it be flowers, card, or a hug and kiss on the cheek, today is their day. Our mothers deserve our utmost admiration and respect, they have done things throughout our lives that no other human being could have possibly done. Mothers are many things , they are friend, confidant, teacher, and many others all rolled into one, " jack of all trades " so to speak. My own mother is a kind and gentle woman, who has cared for all of her children with great kindness and affection. No matter what mischief we may have gotten into as children she always loved us unconditionally. So here's to you Mom and to mothers across the world, have a happy and wonderful Mothers Day. I respect and love you all. Love you mom

Today, I planned nothing because no planning is needed for a day as such, and no
candy or flowers or thrift store cards. Simple really, though I maybe perceived callous and unfeeling - my Mother scoffing at feeble attempts of dropping a card as an ensuing hug goodbye approaches. A nice meal and some company suits her needs, and nothing more will suffice. Perhaps our old tattered photo albums sitting in the den. Ice cream for dessert and pictures of my former self. Influencing Young Women

First I want to say THANK YOU to all the super awesome people who have simply blown us away with all the support and comments. A special thanks to MyBlogLog and BlogCatalog and their communities and individual members. These sites have rocked the blog world and to say the least it's been overwhelming.

I have read hundreds of blogs this month by so many great authors, both male and female. However, were here to talk about women. In todays world, young girls are exposed to so many psychologically damaging influences. There are so many new ways for young girls to be influenced by movie stars, musical artists, pornographic sites and so on. We will start by talking a little about a few bad influences on young people. Of course the media covers these stars like they are important and people love to watch it.

Paris Hilton: Paris is horrible influence for any young girl. I say this because of her "that's hot"
and "throw away her friends" attitude. Remember when she had that cute little Chihuahua?
When the puppy she carried in her designer hand bag grew up it seemed to disappear from her wardrobe. Her and Britney Spears became best buddies in the spot light for a few weeks until Britney had a break down and shaved her head. Paris dropped her like a napkin in the trash.
For most of us she is a stupid side show and it's not a very good one either. She is a pretty blond but she does absolutely nothing for us here at WGM. We proclaim her "Master Forgery".

We noticed how Britney Spears went down hill and how Christina Aguilera seemed to change her
entire image this past year. Christina got married and put out a Jazz-era influenced album. She still displays a little edge but she has become a much better role model than Britney. She has an incredible work ethic and you don't hear much about her private life. She stays at home with her husband (that lucky S.O.B.). So we say hats off to Christina Aguilera for cleaning her act up and being a much more respected woman. We also think she is one of the most talented female singers in music. She won a Grammy this year for best female pop vocal and she deserved it.

I know the WGM rating is a little silly but we thought it would be fun, at least for today.

We think a very good influence for young women can be found right here in the blogosphere.
There are so many incredible female authors here. There are several I have read this past month that are amazing. My Space has blogs but most of it's members are unaware that they even have blogs. I think it's better for them to join communities where blogging is king.

Always remember that beauty truly is only skin deep. A lot of women don't feel or think they are beautiful. A lot of their husbands and boyfriends don't either. So to those women, we think you are all beautiful. If you need some love, send us an email or comment. We will give you some.

I had an idea for this blog earlier today. I think that there are few men that would take a chance like this but I think both men and women should get something out of this. We are just beginning this project and we need your help. We want links to every organization for battered women and child services to be listed here. There will be lots of appreciation for the beauty and sexiness of you ladies here. More than that we want to show the strength, intelligence and power of todays woman and famous women from the past. Especially we want to show the regular non-famous women from around the world and all the great things they have to say and offer. My friend John wrote some prose entitled "Gods Masterpiece" and it seemed like a great choice to use in the title. Women: The Greatest all Gods Creation

As a man of the modern age I can't help but wonder: What it would be like to have a woman president? The way I see it, women rule anyway. Men may hold the key but women are the gate. I personally am not offended in any way of a woman holding power. Hell, I love women. They have all that men want (well, most men). Personally, I think women are the greatest of all living beings on this planet. I love the way a womans' voice sounds, the way they walk, their beautiful scent and everything else about them. Today, a woman has more power in the way the world works than anyone. The feminine quality is all we men really want in our lives. I wonder how many wars occurred throughout history that were blamed on religion actually were caused because of jealousy over some hot babe. You know I am right. When I am not with a woman I am always thinking about being with one. I am all man and I love women. I say more power to them.

I am not intimidated by a smart successful woman in any way, shape or form. What is better than a smart, beautiful and successful woman? I say nothing. There is nothing better on this planet. So to all ladies out there: more power to you. Women are more mature then men at an earlier age. Men a lot of times are Neanderthal life forms that grunt around bitching more than any woman. I believe that once this planet is actually run by women, all of us men may get up off our lazy asses and do what we do best; love women. By the way as you can see I am a huge fan of Jessica Alba. She can rule my world any time.

God's Masterpiece

Women are truly works of art in every way. The way a woman feels when you caress her velvety skin has no equal, nor does the succulent aroma that arises from her flesh when you delicately kiss the nape of her neck. The sparkle of her eyes, as if they were plucked from the heavens above. Such divine creatures are surely God's greatest invention.

A broken heart never really heals, it carries the wound for a lifetime. For people that have truly been in love and lost the one they loved for whatever reason, they know that what I speak of is true. love is an extreme and powerful emotion and must not be taken lightly. Love has caused many civilizations throughout history to be destroyed and others to be built. this emotion cannot be tamed, it is dangerous and wild. Many people never experience true love during their lives, and will never know the power it commands. If a person is lucky enough to find true love it is a magical feeling that they will never forget, or ever want to lose.
