“Beauty lies in the eye of a beholder”. If
you ask me, beauty is everywhere. It depends on how you see and feel it.
Genuinely, all women are beautiful, no doubt in that. In every poem,
women are always described in connection to the nature like “her lips are like
rose petals, her skin is as white as snow” and so on.

Nowadays, women tend to
chase beauty in different ways like plastic surgery, liposuctions, tanning and
make-ups. These are generally expensive, risky or may take loads of time. You
may improve your life with a little cost just by knowing how to look beautiful.
Let me ask you some questions. Can beauty be
defined by age, gender, color, body shape or size? Who gets to decide how
beautiful you are? You might wish you were thinner, taller, smaller,
curvier…right! It is totally normal to feel that way, especially since we are
constantly bombarded with images depicting a certain type of “perfection”!

When you finally have free time, you think “Why can’t I just relax for a bit?” After all, there’s always tomorrow right?

The key to getting fit and trimming down that excess weight is consistency. Strength and cardio exercises are most effective when done several times a week. The 5-minute exercise comes in handy here! You begin by exercising 5 minutes daily. Then, you gradually increase the time at your own pace. Alternatively, you can keep the time constant but increase the intensity of your workout.

So, what’s the workout all about?

by Eunice Adrielle

Lipbalm is a must-have item in every girl's purse. Among all your other beauty products, you can never leave out your lip balm. It is important to keep your lips moisturized at all times and lip balm helps in quenching your dry and flaky lips.

You wouldn't want to appear having chapped and flaky lips all the time, would you?

Honestly, we think that everyone should really take good care of their own lips. No one likes having really dry lips as it appears to be totally unattractive. Lips have to be protected wisely because the skin is so thin, it's very vulnerable.

The usual lipbalms out there are usually made of petroleum jelly because it helps to moisture your lips effectively. If you want your lips to stay moist and youthful all the time, look for lip balms that contain ingredients like hyaluronic acid, collagen, or sodium PCA, and glycerin.

There are all sorts of lip balms in the market now; comes in various sizes, flavors and packaging. You'll be spoiled with choices if you are looking for one, there's too many!

Whether you're looking for natural flavored like honey or aloe vera, or sweet fruity flavors like strawberry, mango, berries- you name it, they have it! Some lip balms also have a hint of color when you wear them, ditch the lipstick sometimes and just wear your lip balm, as it moisturizes your lips as opposed to lipsticks that can make your lips dry.

LIP TIP!
Apply a layer or two of lip balm every night when you go to bed, you will wake up with softer lips in no time! A tip for you ladies; if you don't have a lip balm with you, eye cream works the magic, too!

When your lips are really dry and flaky, one speedy remedy is to gently rub lips with cold cucumber slices, that will cool and moisturize your lips immediately!

Have you ever felt bad when people look down on you or when your boyfriend calls you “my cute chubby girl” just because he doesn’t want to mention that you look “fat” to his eyes, fearing that you might get hurt? Do you get hurt by hearing all these words?

DON'T BE! Self esteem of a woman develops by itself when you hear all these condemns. Take it in a positive way ladies! Those who are pointing your imperfections are NOT perfect either. It’s OKAY if there are millions of articles relating women and “lack” of self-esteem issues all over the internet. Actually, those ideas do make us be a better person instead.
Tired of the usual low-waist shorts? Then add in some new flavours to your wardrobe by going for high waisted shorts without spending too much money. You don’t have to put in much effort to become the centre of the crowd. As long as you match them with the right top, a pair of high waisted shorts can elongate your legs and accentuate your waist. You might still doubt whether they look good on you. But hey, you don't have to be a celeb to wear them! What you need is a little bit of creative juice from yourself!

Overcoming heartbreak? Not as easy as it sounds! It is a superb slow process which you won’t be better right away. It’s an inevitable part of life. At that point of time, you will feel like the time is still, the people who used to be closed to you is not there anymore to support you and even if you are surrounded by millions of people, you seem to be lonely.

The term heartbreak can be referred as someone who has suffered a failed relationship or loss of a loved one. It can be appeared in various causes from divorce or being dropped by a lover, disappointment, loss of possession or loss of job. Whatever the causes are, the pain of a broken heart can be enormous. The symptoms of "heartbreak" manifest themselves differently in every individual.

However, its medicinal benefits can be reaped by women of all ages. The evening primrose plant has been used by Native Americans for centuries as a remedy for wounds and ailments. Oil is extracted from the seeds of the evening primrose flower to be used in medication or as a supplement to food. This plant is found mainly in North America and Europe. The evening primrose gets its name due to the nature of its light yellow flowers that open in the evening.

What makes this plant so beneficial to mankind? Research shows that the presence of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), an omega-6 essential fatty acid in the evening primrose plant gives it its healing powers. The body converts GLA to hormone-like compounds which then facilitate bodily functions. There is no one food that contains sufficient amounts of GLA and the evening primrose plant is one source of this essential fatty acid. Let’s take a look at the benefits of evening primrose oil:

PRETTY IN RED: Top 5 Must Have Red Items

Dr. Zeti’s keen sense of international markets and courage to deviate from best way practices filled that requirement. While most South East Asian countries accepted loans from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to cope with the stock market collapse, Dr. Zeti chose the road less travelled by.

Walking down in the narrowed aisle back and forth, flying 32 000 feet
above the ground and taking care of the passengers is not an easy task
for a stewardess! Behind every stewardesses’ sweet smile and beautiful face, do you know how difficult this job is for them?
In Malaysia, there are active Malaysian airlines (passenger airlines)
such as AirAsia, AirAsia X, Berjaya Air, Eaglexpress, Firefly, Layang
Layang Aerospace, Malindo Airways, Malaysia Airlines,MASwings, MHS
Aviation, Sabah Air and Weststar Aviation Malaysia.

If you realize, you may feel that you have seen more stewardesses compared to stewards in flights. Stewardesses (60%) have outnumbered the stewards which is 40% in the case of Malaysia (PayScale Survey). Most airlines prefer to hire stewardess because of their appeal and females are genuinely known for their high level of patience.

To pursue a career of stewardess in Malaysia, a woman should fit in the general requirements below:

- Malaysian citizen aged between 18 to 30 years

A stewardess helps make flights safe, comfortable, and enjoyable for airline passengers. A stewardess' work begins when the plane's crew meets for a preflight briefing covering route, weather, type of food and beverage services to be offered, and passengers with medical problems or special requests.

Besides all these responsibilities, patiently stewardesses always smile to any passengers who will be traveling by plane, from the first entrance to the exit plane. Just imagine that, these ladies have to wear suitable attire and groom themselves (with makeup of course!) and some will be wearing “high heels” walking down the closed aisle with 200 and more passengers looking at them.

Hence, studies show that being crowded into a confined space can lead to aggression and most planes are flying at capacity these days. Stewardesses say that passengers are more rude and quick to anger these days because flying is more of a hassle, with long security lines and lots of delayed flights (Tesh, 2012).

May be some of us out there have been well served by the stewardess before. Patiently they keep smiling and make sure everything is superb fine. Maybe some of us might think that it is an easy job, well…it’s NOT! Here are the 10 Hardship Secrets You DO NOT KNOW About Being A Stewardess (These statements was derived from Global Travel News, Australia):

1) Make up is necessary
A woman should look attractive and beautiful. Some airlines even make an attractive appearance as the primary key. Stewardess had to use a rather thick makeup to look glamorous; with the eye shadow colors are quite colorful.

2) NO Sweat!
Got excessive sweating? Perhaps it would be hard to be a stewardess. Stewardess must be fresh and not sweating, especially in the armpits.

3) Healthy and Strong
Having a strong, healthy body is one of the requirements of a woman who wants to be a Stewardess. A Stewardess is also required to have a strong immune system, so as not to get sick after a trip away.

4) NO for “ONIONS”
Has a charming fragrant aroma is a must for a stewardess. So, they have to use perfume at all times and avoid eating foods containing onions.

5) NO Glasses Allowed (N-G-A)
Not wearing glasses. A stewardess must have a letter from a doctor that says you do not need to use contact lenses or eyeglasses. But they have to use a lot of mascara!

6) Say NO to PANIC
A stewardess is expected to provide calm and soothing passengers under any circumstances.

7) Do not use SHINY accessories
Typically, a stewardess is happy to use accessories to enhance her appearance. However, do not use too shiny flashy attention.

8) Dressed Reasonably
In general, applicants who want to become stewardess must not have any tattoos on the body that may be visible. Piercings or unusual hair styles are also not allowed.

9) Be super nice to passengers
The most important job of a stewardess is to pay attention to the passengers. They should ask what the needs of passengers are and being polite.

10) RESPECT the UNIFORM
Uniform is very important in the task of stewardesses, so it should not be used casually. The shape and color of the stewardess uniforms determine seniority.

However, despite the tough conditions faced by the stewardesses, the job market for cabin crew is nonetheless extremely competitive. Sometimes they have to go through at least four stages of interviews to be selected among thousands of applicants. Being a stewardess may not be as glamorous as many of us think. We should try to be in their shoes to determine the hardship behind their career.

So, the ladies out there who are already a stewardess, we would like to thank you for a smooth flight experience and a never ending smile. If a pilot is called as the captain of the plane… a stewardess should be called as the “super woman” who protects the passengers and fly high above the sky.

Women, undoubtedly have always been served as the primary educators of children. There is a saying, “The home is a child's first school, and the mother, his first teacher”.

The learning process begins from the mother’s womb itself and slowly the mother will teach the child to walk, communicate, respect the elders, love, care, show affection and recognize moral values.

Experts and educators say women often play greater roles in raising children and they have proved themselves as a better teacher by teaching not only just to teach but to motivate, inspire, boost and encourage the children.

Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide

What Is It About? From two of the most fiercely moral voices, a passionate call to arms against our era’s most pervasive human rights violation: the oppression of women and girls in the developing world. With Pulitzer Prize winners Nicholas D. Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn as our guides, we undertake an odyssey through Africa and Asia to meet the extraordinary women struggling there, among them a Cambodian teenager sold into sex slavery and an Ethiopian woman who suffered devastating injuries in childbirth. Drawing on the breadth of their combined reporting experience, Kristof and WuDunn depict our world with anger, sadness, clarity, and, ultimately, hope.

We see the beautiful backdrop of Sarawak’s villages, the large but close-knit families, and the animals that inhabit the lush rainforests of Borneo through the eyes of Payah. “Payah” was the first children’s book that Margaret wrote which was then followed by four other books based on her childhood years growing up in rural Sarawak. Her books are illustrated by her daughter Su Jen Buchheim and published by her family’s company Fairy Bird Children’s Books.

Margaret’s books are a fresh break away from the Westernized children’s books that are popularized in Malaysia.

Margaret’s experience as a secondary school teacher in the interiors of Sarawak coupled with her own childhood memories inspires her characters and the elements she would include in her stories. She emphasizes local people, places, animals, and objects that Malaysian children can easily relate to.

Margaret Lim passed away peacefully on May 8, 2011 due to cancer. Her memory burns stronger whenever a child reads about the adventures of Payah or Nonah or the other characters she brought to life. Margaret understood the desire of children for adventure sans obstruse plots and fed that desire with simple yet enchanting stories of life in the forests of Sarawak.

There's no doubt that Taylor Swift has the nicest hairstyles of all time. We're always anticipating with what kind of hairdo she'll come up with everytime she attends a red carpet event, parties and what not.

This gorgeous multi Grammy Award winner is well-known for her perfectly curled hair.

So here's a few tips we would like to share on how to achieve the "Taylor Swift Side Bun"look.

Don't worry, it's super easy and you'll be done in just a few minutes (but first, you need to get your hair curled nicely!) .

VIDEO TUTORIAL BY KELLY (HairGirl 247)

As for the preparation, you will need to load yourself with a lot of black bobby pins. This is to hold your bun securely so you don't have to worry if your hair fall loose at any point of time.

1. Curl up your hair into your desired type of curls. Whether you like it big and wavy or small loose curls, it's all up to your personal liking.

2. Gather all of your hair into one side and start pinning so it stays.

3. On the other side, pull your front hair up and stick bobby pins if you don't want it to hang loosely.

4. Take the rest of your hair and keep pinning until all of your hair is up and held tightly.

Voila! You're done with the Taylor Swift's Side Bun look.

Now time to show off your new hairdo and maybe who knows, you might find just the right guy to write a song about too!
