The poor consumer indicated that after spending $165 the boots that arrived on her doorstep were damaged - torn along the seam.

She first attempted to get a quote for repairs, acknowledging that repairs would change the circumference of the boot and may not even work to begin with. She asked the company to reimburse her for repairs and they refused to pay any more than $20.

The consumer then asked the company to replace the boots and the company said they would send her a new pair if she sent them $40. She didn’t feel she should have to pay but the company countered by saying it would cost her $40 to mail back the original pair so so they felt as though they were doing her a favor.

Sadly, this is not uncommon with counterfeit companies. There was one thing that really disturbed us, though.

The consumer thought that “real” UGG boots were made in China and that “fake” UGGs are made in Australia and New Zealand. Considering UGG boots come from Australia, we were startled by this assumption.

Sadly, this is the type of empire the Decker Corporation has created. They’ve worked so hard to stonewall the original Australian makers of UGG boots we now have people who truly believe that UGGs are supposed to be mass produced in China.

Yes - there are dozens of counterfeit UGG boot makers trying to rip off consumers. Yes - you do need to be careful when determining what company you’ll approach when ordering your boots. But most important - YES - authentic UGG boots DO come from Australia! The perfect pair is waiting for you!

So what can you do to keep your UGG boots smelling fresh in between washes? Try sprinkling a bit of baby powder or banking soda inside of your boots or slippers before you go to bed at night. Make sure you shake the boot so that the powder distributes itself evenly throughout the fleece.

As you sleep the powder will absorb the odors within the fleece. In the morning you’ll dump the excess powder out of your UGG slippers, boots, or shoes and you’ll be prepared to start your day with fresh-smelling footwear. Or, at the very least, shoes that don’t smell like they’ve been on your feet for days on end.

Don’t forget - your UGG boots can be worn in temperatures as warm as 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Deodorizing your boots will be especially important during the warmer spring and summer months.

If deodorizing your boots with a simple baby powder or corn starch treatment doesn’t work you may find it necessary to wash your boots. While washing your UGG boots is not generally recommended, you can occasionally do so by hand washing your boots in a solution of cold water and Woolite. Add the woolite directly to the water - NOT directly to the boots - before gently rinsing them. Rise them again in clean cool water and put them in a warm, dry place to dry.

Make sure you keep your boots out of direct heat or sunlight. Heat will cause the boots to shrink even more and the damage may not be reversable.

Let’s hope they were bright enough to get him his own pair of baby UGGs!

The young star admits to being drawn towards the character she played in the Harry Potter series but at the young age of 19 has not identified acting as her true passion in life. Unless she finds another role that really strikes her interest, the young actress will put her acting career aside and focus on her newest goals - going to university.

While Emma Watson has been accepted to a university she has not revealed which university she will be attending to the public or the media. She hopes that after she is finished filming the 7th and 8th Harry Potter movies she will be able to lead a life of anonymity.

She was quoted as stating that she merely rolls out of bed, puts on her UGG boots, and goes to the set. She’s tired but we really have to give her credit. It takes a lot of courage to admit you’re not happy and move on to fulfill your life’s dreams!

Anyway, for those of you who aren’t in the know, Ginnifer Goodwin was portrayed the charming character of Connie baker in the 2003 hit production “Mona Lisa Smile.” Before that she was seen in several smaller roles, including a guest appearance on “Law and Order,” a television role in the series “Ed,” and a small role in the movie “Porn ‘n Chicken” produced by Comedy Central back in 2002.

Her most recent projects include her role as Johnny Cash’s wife in “Walk the Line” produced in 2005 and she is currently involved in the hit television show “Big Love.”

Alright - so it’s all about shock value and humor but who said we’re not game for a good joke every now and again? They’re a great idea, but you’re probably better off saving your favorite pair of classic short UGGs for the pavement!

The only thing we didn’t really agree with was the label showing “Made in China” as real versus “Made in New Zealand” as fake.  Don’t forget that UGG boots were originally created in Australia and New Zealand but some of today’s major manufacturers (like Decker’s) outsource their production to China. Boots made in New Zealand aren’t necessarily “fakes.” Proceed with caution as you make your next UGG boot choice.
