Using 5 fingers while eating
This is the best method of eating. Eating with two or three fingers does not help get enough food in each bite to satisfy our appetite, and consequently, one would take longer time to finish his food. Also, organs responsible for digesting the food will get fatigued if little food is reached with smaller bites. Eating with five fingers will send enough food for the digestive system to handle at one time and help in quick digestion and satisfy hunger. To use less than 5 fingers for eating speaks of the manner of the arrogant, whereas to use both hands to this end is indicative of an overpowering greed. So, the best way of eating is that shown by Messenger of Allah (s.a.). Here, too, is the affirmation of licking the fingers after taking meal, and not during it.
This was told 1400 years by Prophet Mohammed (saw); today science has proved its beneficial values.
Today, medical science says that, If a person eats with his fingers, and dips his fingers in the food while eating, some germs are made that allow to digest the food more easily, and the stomach doesn’t get any problems. So you need to lick your fingers to lick the germs, which are good for your health. Licking fingers produces more saliva which helps to digest food faster and gives a satisfaction, which cannot be done with the use of spoon/fork.
Present-day Muslims hardly care for this directive of Messenger of Allah (s.a.) because they think that this act will bring disgrace and dishonour upon them. To make matters worse, they throw away a large quantity of unconsumed food in street dumps, garbage bags and drains. They even deem it necessary to leave over some food in plates and dishes, still less of licking them. What a pity, the Muslim community has gone far away from the teachings and excellent example of their Rasul (s.a.)!
Throughout the history of mankind, man has been searching for the things, which will prevent him from getting the diseases or heal his ailments. There are many methods, very simple to follow, which The Shariyah Mohammedia tells us to follow; each one has its beneficial reasons.
Excellence of Eating with 5 Fingers & licking them, Islam is complete in all aspects and nothing can be added to its contents and nothing can be eliminated there from. Islam has put forward complete, comprehensive and eternal Shariah for us.
It is not required of the believer to always find a scientific justification for things laid by the Shariayh because all of them are true. If science has not yet confirmed some of them yet, it will do so in future, many may need research to prove the methods. However, recent research has proved scientifically that many methods are indeed of great benefit to us.
Messenger of Allah, Rasullah (s.a.) instructed His followers that after taking meal they should lick up their fingers before they wash or wipe them with a towel. Since Messenger of Allah (s.a.) approved of this act, it is commendable.
The Telectroscope was built by artist/inventor Paul St. George and connects New York and London via a massive tunnel you can look through and see out the other end.
In all its optical brilliance and brass and wood, there stood the Telectroscope: an 11.2-meter-(37 feet) long by 3.3-meter-(11 feet) tall dream of a device allowing people on one side of the Atlantic to look into its person-size lens and, in real time, see those on the other side via a recently completed tunnel running under the ocean. (Think 19th-century Webcam. Or maybe Victorian-age video phone.)
“The Telectroscope started off as a totally unintentional hoax in the 1870s,” explains St George, who is the leading expert on this forgotten backwater of Victorian technology. “It came about through an error. A French editor misread a report about the invention of a thing called the Electroscope – which is all to do with static electricity – and called it a Telectroscope. He also misinterpreted its purpose. “The fascinating thing is that his misunderstanding of what it did – to communicate face to face over a vast distance – really caught fire.
Needless to say there is no such massive tunnel. The end portals were just made to look like they’re heading through the earth. In actuality, they’re connected via “fiber optic cabling, and an HD camera and projector on either end provide live streaming video. But who really cares, you can still look in one end of this device in New York and see out the other in London. You’ll find one end next to the Brooklyn Bridge, and the other across the pond, next to Tower Bridge.”
The Telectroscope captured St. George’s imagination five years ago, when he began pondering how to do a project on the childhood fantasy of digging a hole to the opposite side of the Earth. And because the artist also happens to have an expertise in Victorian chronophotography — a precursor to cinematography — he had a slight idea of where to look for the proper equipment.
“We all have that idea in our head if we could make a tunnel to the other side of the Earth,” St. George said.”But we are not all crazy enough to actually try and do it.”
St. George was crazy enough to actually try and do it, but he realized he could not do the digging alone. So about two years ago, he pitched the idea to Artichoke, the British arts group responsible for taking the Sultan’s Elephant — a 42-ton mechanical creature — for a stroll through central London in 2006. The company was immediately taken by St. George’s idea.
“The whole thing is about seeing what is real and what isn’t real and how the world is,” said Nicki Webb, a co-founder of Artichoke. “Is it nighttime when we are in daytime, and does it look familiar to us or not?”
When the sun illuminated the lens of the Telectroscope next to the Thames, it was, of course, still nighttime in New York. So the screen inside the scope broadcast back only an empty sidewalk silently framed by the Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan skyline.
But then something miraculous occurred.

Keep a syringe or needle in your home to do this… It’s amazing and an unconventional way of recovering from stroke, read it through it can help somebody one day.
This is amazing. Please keep this very handy.. Excellent tips. Do take a minute to read this. You’ll never know. One’s life may depend on you.
“My father was paralyzed and later died from the result of a stroke. I wish I knew about this first aid before. When stroke strikes, the capillaries in the brain will gradually burst.” (Irene Liu)
When a stroke occurs, stay calm. No matter where the victim is,do not move him/her. Because, if moved, the capillaries will burst. Help the victim to sit up where he is to prevent him from falling over again, and then the bloodletting can begin. If you have in your home an injection syringe that would be the best, otherwise, a sewing needle or a straight pin will do.
Wait till the victim regain his normal state without any abnormal symptoms then take him to the hospital, otherwise, if he was taken in the ambulance in a hurry to the hospital, the bumpy trip will cause all the capillaries in his brain to burst. If he could save his life, barely managing to walk, then it is by the grace of his ancestors.
“I learned about letting blood to save life from Chinese traditional doctor Ha Bu-Ting who lives in Sun-Juke.Furthermore, I had practical experience with it. Therefore I can say this method is 100% effective. In 1979, I was teaching in Fung-Gaap College in Tai-Chung. One afternoon I was teaching class when another teacher came running to my class room and said in panting, “Ms. Liu, come quick, our supervisor has had a stroke!”
I immediately went to the 3rd floor. When I saw our supervisor, Mr.Chen Fu-Tien, his color was off, his speech was slurred, his mouth was crooked-all the symptoms of a stroke. I immediately asked one of the practicum students to go to the pharmacy outside the school to buy a syringe, which I used to prick Mr. Chen’s 10 fingers tips. When all 10 fingers were bleeding (each with a pea-sized drop of blood), after a few minutes, Mr. Chen’s face regained its color and his eyes’ spirit returned, too. But his mouth was still crooked. So I pulled on his ears to fill them with blood. When his ears became red, I pricked his right earlobe twice to let out 2 drops of blood. When both earlobes had two drops of blood each, a miracle happened. Within 3-5 minutes the shape of his mouth returned to normal and his speech became clear. We let him rest for a while and have a cup of hot tea, then we helped him go down the stairs, drove him to Wei-Wah Hospital . He rested one night and was released the next day to return to school to teach.
Everything worked normally. There were no ill after-effects. On the other hand, the usual stroke victim usually suffers irreparable bursting of the brain capillaries on the way to the hospital. As a result, these victims never recover.- ” (Irene Liu) Therefore stroke is the second cause of death. The lucky ones will stay alive but can remain paralyzed for life. It is such a horrible thing to happen in one’s life. If we can all remember this bloodletting method and start the life-saving process immediately, in a short time, the victim will be revived and regain 100% normality.
If possible, Please forward this after reading. You never know if it may help save a life from stroke.
A small board was hanging from the top of the fruit stand which said “My mother is elderly and a paralytic and there is no one else to take care of her at home. She needs frequent feeding and frequent trips to the toilet. If you are in a hurry, please pick whatever fruit you like and put the money under the pad in the corner. The rates are also written nearby. If you don’t have the money then please take the fruit anyway, I won’t mind. And Allah is the best Sustain er.”
I weighed 2 kilograms of apples, grabbed a dozen bananas put them in a shopping bag. After checking the rate list, I took out the money, lifted the corner pad and placed it there, amidst many other notes of various denominations. I looked around to see if anyone was watching me then I picked up my purchase and came back to my flat.
After iftar, my brother and I went back to that stall and found the owner packing it up, about to leave. He was a middle aged man, the whites in his beard peeking out from among the black, wearing a cream colored shalwar kameez. He smiled at us as he said “No more fruit left, sir.” We asked his name. He said, “Khadim Hussain”. A few minutes later, we were having tea at a nearby shop.
He told us, My mother has been bed-ridden for the past three years. She has developed some mental issues recently and now has been paralyzed as well. I have no children, my wife has passed away and there is no one to look after my mother so I have to do it all the time. One day I told her as I was massaging her feet, “Mother, I want to take care of you more than anything but my pockets are empty and you don’t want me leaving your side. You say you feel extremely anxious and worried when I go away. Tell me what I should do then. Where will we get food from? I am not a citizen of Bani Israel and you are not the mother of Musa (AS). What should I do?”
My mother tried to sit up with difficulty so I adjusted her pillow for her and had her rest against it. She raised her wrinkled face and trembling hands in supplication and I don’t know what she asked Allah. Then she told me “Just leave your stall at the roadside. You will get your food while sitting in this room.”
I said, “Mother, what are you talking about? If I leave the stall there, somebody will come and steal everything on it. No one cares about other people these days. Who will actually pay for the fruit when the shopkeeper isn’t there?”
She said, “Don’t argue with me. At fajr, fill your stall with fruit, leave it at the roadside and come back to me. And in the evening bring back the empty stall. If you lose any money, then this Khalida Surayya will obtain every single rupee from Allah.”
Brother, it has been two and a half years since then. I take the stall in the morning and bring back the empty stall in the evening. I have not lost a single rupee, instead people often pay more than is due. I usually make about 300-400 rupees more than I would according to the rates. Some people also leave flowers for my mother. A few days ago a girl left a dish of pulao with a card saying ‘for mother’. A doctor left his business card that had a note on the back saying ‘Uncle, if your mother is not feeling well, call me and I will pick her up from her house. A pilgrim visited my stall and left a packet of Ajwa dates. A couple came to buy fruit and left a suit for my mother. Every day things like these are given to me along with my money.
My mother doesn’t let me leave and Allah doesn’t let the blessings stop.
Not only is Allah the best Sustainer, He is also the best Retailer.
In the end, I would like to tell all children that if you are free and see your parents doing some work, always offer to help them.
Tell them “Mother/Father, here let me help you with that.”
Then just watch how success follows you everywhere in this world and the next.
Shehrullah is the month in which Quran e Majeed was revealed to Rasulullah (SAW). In this month, mumineen do tilawat of Quran e Majeed with added fervor as Hudat Kiram (AS) have informed that reciting a single ayah of Quran e Majeed in Shehrullah equals reciting the whole Quran in any other month.
Rasulullah (SAW) says:
The one who listens to the Quran will be spared the calamities of duniya; the one who recites the Quran will be spared the evils of duniya and akherat.
Tarteel of Quran e Majeed has its principles and guidelines. Quran e Majeed is not to be read like a book, nor to be sung like a poem or song. Even while reciting softly to one’s self, the lips should form the words. Balanced rhythmic notes and lehen are used in recitation.
There are certain ahkaam (principles) pertaining to the articulation of words and letters during tarteel: this is known as tajweed. It is important to know these principles for proper recitation.
