When I was first introduced to the concept of GAP marketing I could almost feel a lightbulb come on. This concept is so simple, it’s beautiful and can really revolutionise the way you write salesletters, do teleseminars, conduct free coaching sessions, present from the stage, make videos and well, everything you do that is marketing. It’s so simple I can easily explain it to you in this 3 minute video.

Dana: Today I like to introduce you to Pam Brossman. Pam, thank you so much for joining us today.

Pam: Wow, Dana you’re more than welcome I’m very excited to be a part of this radio show that Janet is doing, it’s a fabulous idea, thank you for inviting me on the call.

Dana: Well it’s absolutely our pleasure.  So if you don’t mind for those who may not be familiar of you as yet, please share with our listeners a little about you and your business.

Pam: Ok, well I specialise in Video Marketing and social media marketing and I have two businesses I have socialmediawoman.com which helps women to market themselves effectively using the power of video marketing and social media.  And I also have another business that I run together with my Marketing husband Steve Brossman and that’s a video marketing campus and that teaches small businesses the same sort of thing but we do offline training seminars and we’re just about to launch a new online training seminar.  So it’s all really about showing people the power of video in marketing and building your brand and your business globally and that’s basically what we are focusing on in our business.

Dana: Fantastic, sounds like you got a very full plate, you’re very busy.

Pam: A very busy full plate Dana but I love it.

Dana: Well that’s the whole thing we’re following our passion and love that we are doing it, sounds like that’s what you do.
Now you have been a member of Wonderful Web Women for quite some time now, haven’t you?

Pam: Yes I have, I absolutely love Janet she’s a fellow Australian and she provides some amazing content and material and speakers from all around the world and I really love what she’s doing.

Dana: And since you’ve been a member for quite some time now, and you have had a chance to listen in on some other interviews. Was there a particular call that you listen to of Janet’s that made a big difference in your life and in your business?

Pam: To be fair Dana, I have to say there was many of the speakers over the last couple of years that have impacted me personally and the growth of my business, one of the main ones would have to be Ali Brown – I have been following her for a while and she’s an inspiration to women.  She showed me about the power of branding, she showed me the power of using Ezine that’s a list builder and I really recently loved her Ali Brown magazine and it gave me the inspiration to create my own social media women magazine – a virtual magazine so that I could reach everybody around the world and share what social media information I could from different men and women and I included that in my magazine.  So, Ali Brown had a huge impact and also Janet herself had a huge impact on the others and to many of Janet’s calls and in her own right, she’s teaching women really fantastic strategies and I always listen to what she’s doing and try to implement some of her strategies into my business.

Dana: Oh that is fantastic Pam, because it just so happens that this weeks segment was featured with Ali Brown, so that works out just perfectly.

Pam: Oh, well that’s fantastic, I highly recommend if you really want to learn from someone who’s gone from having nothing at all to building a multi million-dollar company.  She is someone to watch and she teaches you step by step how to do it.  She really is an amazing, amazing woman.

Dana: Oh fantastic Pam thank you for sharing.  Now is there, you mentioned that you learnt quite a bit from her.  Was there anything that just really stand out that if you had one take away what would it be with Ali Brown?

Pam: With Ali Brown it would have to be the power branding, I mean I watched her do her rebrand, I think it was about a year and half ago and I watched her very carefully from her going from the Ezine Queen to the Ali Brown her own brand and the difference that it made to her professionalism, the whole rebranding of her logo and her site and how it took her business right to the next level.  So I followed in her footsteps and been taking some of her strategies and implementing it into socialmediawomen.com and it has had a huge impact on the growth of my business.  So I believe that branding and branding is not only about the look so much, its all about how you want people to feel when they hear your name.  You know, it’s like building a rapport when I hear Ali Brown or when I hear the name Pam Brossman it’s about she’s someone trying to make a difference in the lives of women and help them market themselves and get their message and voice out there.  So it’s about what people feel when they hear your name, and I learnt that a lot from her.

Dana: Oh Pam that is fantastic, that is just awesome.   So how have you been able to apply that especially if that was your take away with branding, how have you been able to apply that to your life and business?

Pam: Well, what I did I started out probably small like she did and I started out as the motivating market queen while I was finding my footing and finding my niche.  And then when I found out that I actually wanted to be focusing on video marketing then I created PamBrossman.com and then I saw a hole in the market where there was so much, so many people sharing really great social media marketing information, but it was all over the place and it was really hard to find.  So I saw how she sort of captured all her information in the Ali Brown brand, and I thought Social Media Woman.  There’s so many women out there really sharing like Carrie Wilkinson and Mari Smith and Ali Brown all using the power of social media and I wanted a place to share it.  So I structured the way she set up her website and her magazine and I incorporated some of those strategies with the Carrie Wilkinson video marketing strategies and I started building my own brand.  So I really watched how she started working and doing webinars and teleseminars with people and I thought, you know that’s a great way to reach it.  So I have been taking lots of little pieces of everything that she does and implementing and testing each one into socialmediawoman.com brand.

Dana: Oh Pam, that is really, really encouraging and inspiring for those I know listening here on the call today and I can tell just hearing it in your voice it has been quite a journey for you so far.

Pam: Oh the journey you know what it’s not always easy and I’m not sugar coat everything I take a lot of things personally and I always strive for the best so that I can be.  I’m just about to be a part of a book that’s coming out called Mentor Millionaire and I’m really excited about it, because I feel there’s a lot of women out there who have that millionaire attitude and my article in that book is about having that millionaire attitude.  If you obviously believe you can get there, you can get there and sure there’s a couple of hiccups along the way but when you’ve got that millionaire attitude you just pick yourself up and you learn from your mistake and keep going.  Now I found a lot of people on Janet’s call have that millionaire attitude, Ali’s got it, Carrie’s got it, you know, Janet herself who’s got it.  You know, we all heard what happened to her at Christmas time when she lost her whole website, but you know what she had that millionaire attitude and she just brushed herself off, she figured out how she was going to get out of it and now she’s bigger than ever.  So I just really think that women out there all have that millionaire attitude they just have to believe that they can do it and then I like to show them how to go step by step to get themselves out there and get heard and it’s really, really easy to do.

Dana: Well, we all know what Janet says when life gives you lemons you don’t stop at making lemonade, you go to making margaritas.

Pam: And we love those margaritas, don’t we Dana?

Dana: Oh, we sure do, we love the margarita, yep we sure do. Well I know that there’s probably a couple of other tips that maybe you could share with us the listeners here that has really been a direct result of being a member of Wonderful Web Women, would you mind sharing just a couple of tips?

Pam: Well, one of the key tips that I find that Janet uses a lot is interviewing.  She’s grown her business immensely by sharing the expertise of amazing woman around the world with other women.  So that they can learn and take the tips of information that’s relevant for there business and help them grow.  So I find that interviewing is a very, very strong tip that I would recommend people to do within their business, I deliver a lot with video marketing I actually do video interviews with people and it has helped me to introduce my brand to the interviewers list and my list to their brand as well.  So it’s a win: win opportunity.  So I believe whether it be a teleseminars, whether it be a webinars with another person or whether, you know, it’s a video interview.  Interviewing is a very strong thing that I highly recommend.  And the other thing I would think of recommending you have to start using video in your business.  Since I started using video and I know a few people are scared of being in front of the camera, but there’s so many other ways, you can use video, whether it’s PowerPoint, whether its campaign tutorials, you don’t always have to be in front of the camera.  But the power that video has given to marketing our business in such a short period of time is huge.  It is getting bigger and bigger everyday.  So if I can give a recommendation, I would say, start learning how to use video in your business to market yourself, get your message out there to your marketplace, and getting people to know, like and trust you.  It would probably be one of the key and most cost effective marketing tools that you could use in your business.  And that would be the 2 major tips I would pass on today.

Dana: Fantastic Pam and I can just really hear the passion in your voice, this is obviously that is so true to what you’re doing and message you’re bringing across and I know personally and professionally that you bring such light and inspiration and encouragement and you really help empower woman to kind of step out of there comfort zone and do things they never done before.  So if anyone listening here is interested in signing up more about you and your business, where would they go?

Dana: Absolutely and I as well would like to tell everybody that you definitely want to get that magazine, the first issue jam packed full of incredible information and gifts to we all love gifts.

Pam: I really want to thank you, Dana, I want to thank you and most of all I want to thank Janet she is an amazing lady, she has such a big heart, she’s a beautiful person and she is really making an impact on so many women’s lives around the world and I know that she has an impact on yours and she has had an impact on mine.  And I find it a great honour to be part of this show.

Dana: Well, she is, I would say if anything on this Rising Stars this is really such a wonderful tribute to Janet and all that she delivers to all of us trying to build up our businesses and really pursue the life and lifestyle our of dreams.  

Sarah used the learnings from Wonderful Web Women’s 4th Dimension Mastery Program to put together in just 3 short days, a social media strategy to get a head start in her business success.

Dana: Today it’s my personal pleasure to introduce all of our listeners to Sarah Rodgers.  Sarah welcome to our call.

Sarah: Dana, thank you so much.  It’s a real pleasure to be here.  So I’m looking forward to what we’re going to talk about and meeting some Wonderful Web Women as we go.

Dana: Absolutely.  Well, we’re just thrilled that you took time to join us today and we’re very, very excited to feature you as one of Rising Stars so if you would just take a couple minutes and share with our listeners a little bit more about you and your business.

Sarah: Sure.  Okay.  So, as Dana said, my name is Sarah.  I run my own coaching, counseling and leadership development business.  And I started that about year and a half ago after many years in corporate loss, and an increasing disillusionment in corporate loss and all if had to offer.  So I went and got myself retrained and I am now working with people on a on daily basis, helping them found out what makes them tick, helping them work-out what they want to do, and them helping get there.  So it’s really cool.  And also, every day, I’m happy doing what I love to work.  And to work with people in a personal way to help make their lives better, it’s a privilege I couldn’t even imagine.  So that’s kind of me and my business.

Dana: There’s nothing like giving out every day and feeling such passion and fulfillment about what it is that you’re doing.  So I know just how rewarding that is.

Sarah: Yeah, it is.  Nobody can tell you just how good it’s going to be when you actually do it, but you do it and you sort of living your dream, that’s exactly how I feel my life is.  It’s an amazing feeling and no amount of money from big corporates could possibly, possibly come close to the sort of fulfillment and reward you get from working with people.  When the people send their testimonial, or send an e-mail saying thank you so much, you helped me in this way or in this way.  It’s just the best reward you can really get.  So I’m just glad I worked it out before I was 80, right.

Dana: And congratulation on your success.  That’s very exciting.  Now, share with us a little bit about you first introduced to Janet Beckers in the Wonderful Web Community?

Sarah: Yeah.  That was really an interesting story.  So, a good friend of mine was going overseas for a month and she said to me, I got this amazing, amazing conference that I think we should go to, but I’m not going to be with you so you have to go own your own.  And I sort of looked at it and I thought, oh, should I go, should I go?  And I kept reading and I kept going back to the page, and basically the course was Janet’s 4^th Dimension Mastery, which was held in Sydney in very early weekend August this year.  And so my first introduction to Janet, was at this three-day course that she ran.  And it was, without a doubt, one of the most amazing, eye-opening experiences I’ve ever had the pleasure to be a part of.  And yeah, I met Janet face-to-face in front of a crowd of probably 80 people, of which I was one.  And it was just an amazing three-day journey.  And so that’s how I met Janet.

Dana: Well and that was probably a room filled with a lot of energetic men and women, I’m assuming.

Sarah: Oh, it was.  It was great.  They had a guy called Chris doing the music and he was amazing.  He just seemed to pick the right music or song for every particular occasion.  Lenore Miller was there, I’m sure you know Lenore, she is a good friend and a colleague of Janet and she was there because she was the MC, and there was Janet.  There were a couple of really great men there, too.  It wasn’t just women, there were fantastic men there too.  Jenna’s husband Doug, Chris, the music guy.  There was a lovely guy doing the video and I’m sorry to say, I’ve forgotten his name, but he was amazing and he did some amazing stuff over the weekend.  And yeah, there were a couple of men actually participating, who I had the pleasure of meeting during the weekend.  But yeah, it was really amazing.  It really was the most amazing three days and opened my eyes to a whole lot of opportunities, why they’re doing things and ways of thinking about running a business that I hadn’t even considered.  So it was an amazing, amazing event.  And a great investment, not what I thought of it as an investment financially, but it was a great investment in my business and in me.

Dana: Oh, that’s awesome, thank you for sharing that.  So what would you say, I know it was a three-day event and there was probably so much content and information, but what would you say if you have to pick one thing.  What was your biggest take away from those three days?

Sarah: Yeah and that’s really a good question and you know, I did start thinking of that a few minutes ago because I know you’re going to ask me for just one thing.  But there were many, many things, but I to me the biggest thing was previous to attending Janet’s 4^th Dimension Mastery, I had been, I guess I had had my head in the sand a bit about social media and networking and all things sort of social media online.  I was a big sort of naïve about what it could with for my business and was a bit reluctant to go down that path.  Well but at the end of day two, I had actually signed up and made a Facebook account.  By the end of day three, I had engaged my web design and to actually make some changes to my website.  And I got a Twitter accounts, a Facebook, and all on my webpage.  I started an online newsletter and I’m probably about to do a video.  And I can’t  tell you how important those three days were for my business and for my view on how to run a business more successfully.

Dana: Well and I would say, you immediately went and took action because as we’re actually doing this radio show interview, this is now in mid-September and that was only a month ago.

Sarah: Yeah, I know.  Actually, because I had made a commitment to go and to be really open to what Janet had to say.  When things resonate with me, as many, many things did over those three days, I just thought, why am I waiting?  There’s nothing to wait you, you just go after this and get organized.  So I went in to a level of action and activity that I haven’t done in some time.  As a result, I was exhausted, but very excited.

Dana: Yeah, it’s exhausting when we learned that the brain gets a little tired.  So, now the next question I would probably ask you…

Sarah: Yeah, it does.

Dana: Thank you, the next question that I would probably ask you Sarah, is that you’ve obviously already implemented and applied a lot of things that you took away from those three days, but moving forward now into your business, how to you feel that you’re going to be moving forward with all this great information that Janet shared with you?

Sarah: Yeah, I think for me is about being able to connect with a wider range of people who, through normal means, I guess I mean traditional and old-fashioned, and not social media.  It’s about, I guess be able to reach more people in the work that I do, but it’s also to me about being able to define to people that I want to work with and Janet have a great technique for that.  So basically, as you look at the parts of clientele or customers that you want to work with and in a way, she get to the go and exercise where you can actually thought of the picture of, a representative of each of those groups.  And so for me, that’s actually a really important exercise that’s the next one that I have started to think about in my head that I started my business and very much created a portfolio of offerings.  I think it’s really for me now to be able to look and refine some of those and be a lot crisper about what it is that I’m offering and to whom.  And so then I can tailor various aspects of my communication in my marketing and even my work to make sure that its hitting the mark for a number of different segments rather just having a very blended and possibly bland at times, you know, sort of message to people.  So that was probably the longer term plan coming out of the weekend was to look at sort of the representation of clients that I want to work with and how I can tap in to them in a more effective way.

Dana: What a powerful exercise that was.

Sarah: Yeah, it was amazing.  It really, really was amazing.  Everything that we do was amazing really, but there are a couple of relocating for me that I know will really help me get some rungs on the board with my business.

Dana: Well, you owe a lot of that friend of yours that told you this is an event; you just had to go do.  What an amazing shift you’d already had in your business.  I’m just so excited for you.

Sarah: Thank you Dana and probably, yeah, I have mentioned the site so many times, how grateful I am that she made me go.  It really has been a great experience and not only that, did I say that I met some fantastic people, some amazingly lovely people who had become like an online network for me.  And I was saying to a friend the other day who commented on my Facebook, he said, I can’t believe you’re on Facebook.  You never wanted to do it and I said no, you rock.  You know, one of the best thing, to use about Facebook other than reaching old friends that I have not seen all for years, the next best thing is that when you’re having problem in your business or you’re struggling with something, you can just e-mail something out there to all of your Facebook friends.  And what I found is most of the people who went to Wonderful Web Women or LinkedIn, you got a really kind, generous responses and offer you help.  Just because you’ve met those people on a three day weekend, it gives you a real sense of community which I know Janet would be delighted to hear, because I know that’s one of her key values and that it is something that she is really passionate about developing but that’s what is found.   My personal experience is being I become part of this community that it just really that helped me and succeed and likewise, I’m there to help other people succeed in their businesses.

Dana: Yeah.

Sarah: That was one of the best things is all about it.

Dana: It was an absolutely incredible support system.  It absolutely is.  So is there any other, is there any other tips for our listeners that maybe had haven’t have a chance to get to know Janet or the Wonderful Web Community yet, what other tips would you have to share with our listeners today?

Sarah: So my tips would be, if you get the opportunity to meet Janet, hear Janet, see Janet, learn from some of her amazing work, then grab with both hands and run with it.  Because I don’t think there are many people on the planet who have a heart the size that she does and want to share what she knows and she genuinely wants to help other people succeed.  So if you get a opportunity to meet, work with, learn, listen to Janet, grab it and enjoy it because it will make a huge difference in your life and your work.

Dana: Today, I’d like to introduce you to Karen Clarke.  Karen, welcome to the call.

Karen: Thank you, thanks for having me.

Dana: It is our pleasure.  We’re really excited to talk to you today and to really focus on you as one of our very own Rising Star.  So for those familiar yet with you and your business, would mind just taking a couple of minutes and sharing a little bit more about what it is you do?

Karen: Yes, I’d love to.  I supposed, technically, I’m a success coach, but that is such an enormously broad scope as a title.  I have a coaching business that I run at the moment and I’m setting up workshops in, basically self-esteem and getting people to move out of their stuck state or their feeling of limitation.  On new workshop that we’ll be doing that I’m in the creative process right now is, “Who’s The Boss Of You?” which is all about stepping into your own power and I’m very excited about that.

I grew up in the UK.  I lived in Africa for eight years.  I spent some time in France, where I met my beautiful husband.  Traveled around New Zealand, ended up in Australia and worked for Qantas for 10 years.  So, that’s my background and stopped flying in order to have children, which was very, very nice.  I’m very happy about my beautiful kids.  And yes, I am running a successful practice right now.

Dana: Oh, fantastic and congratulations for you and your business.  And I love that program that sounds like you’re going to be doing is, Who’s The Boss Of You.  What a perfect title!

Karen: Yes, it is.  I am really interested in people recognizing their own power, really.  It really became apparent to me through my coaching that more or less every single issue that arises comes back to a lack of self-confidence or lack of belief.  And I focus, in my blogs, I focused on bullying in particular that, that is very, very much a symptom of not believing in yourself.  You live to live, can’t be bullied unless you buy into the system at some level.  So I’m very excited about understanding this and moving people to the place where they really feel their own power and they really feel their own joy and feel their own excitements about life.  And yes, the purpose of the workshop is to energize those aspects of people that are just lying dormant and remind people who they really are so they can go and play.

Dana: Oh, and that’s what life is all about, isn’t it?

Karen: Isn’t it just?  Yes.

Dana: It is.  Yeah.  How were you first introduced to Janet Beckers in the Wonderful Web Community?

Karen: Okay, a very good friend of mine was doing the Passion to Profit Program and she spoke of Janet.  She so highly of her integrity and of her business ethic and that was interesting to me.  I’m very interested in people and what drive people, why they do what they do, less than what they do and I had to look at her stuff and I thought she is wonderful so I signed up just to see her emails and listen to some of her stuff and I really enjoyed it.  I was very pleased with what I’ve learned to Janet.

Dana: Now, have you participate in any of her programs recently?

Karen: Well, I went to the 4^th Dimension Mastery Program in, I think it was August of this year which was outstanding.  I absolutely, I can’t speak hardly enough of that program, the three days were just marvellous, apart from the fact they are just wonderful people and we also had great fun,  but I’ve also learned a great deal.

In particular, I understood the link between social media and a powerful business model.  I haven’t understood that correctly before.  I didn’t realize the power of social media or I didn’t understand it as I do now.  It is far more like a living entity.  It’s like a real connection or real human connection which is exciting.  It’s a move out stagnant, stereo marketing and advertising and promotional stuff.  It’s the moving to real connection and real people and that is exciting.

Dana: Oh well, about that.  That would had been my next question for you, is what did you learn, boy, that was quite a bit.  You had a great take away from those three days.

Karen: I had a great take away and I like I said, not the least of that, as I mention, really friends, they are marvelous people and they have very good vision about what they’re doing and why they’re doing it in articular and to what Janet and her gorgeous husband together was, such a pleasure.  Absolutely.

Dana: They are, they are the perfect couple, I tell you.  So, now where do you think moving forward with the information and the skill set and everything that you really took away from the 4^th Dimension Mastery Program and social media?  How do you think you are going to be able to apply this moving forward in your business?

Karen: Oh, look.  I am applying it.  My business is still technically in its infancy.  It’s exciting and just emerging also, six years of self-imposed parenthood which I have loved but that time taken away from me is to see where you can go from that, basically a stationary point to being out in the marketplace to being visible, interactive and creating a really viable business.  That’s very, very exciting.  It’s actually a very easy process although it does require lot of information.  Now, that was probably the best take away from Janet, that there is someone you can get this information and yet more or less, everything you need to know to advance.

Dana: Right.

Karen: You can absolutely get the pointers as to what you need to build your business and to create an affective and useful powerful business through her program.  That’s wonderful.

Dana: Yeah, Janet’s Wonderful Women Web community, it really starts you from even before the foundation of building the business, it goes even before that to really help you build a solid foundation to grow your business and then of course, give you all the tools and resources that you need once you do begin to develop you business so that is wonderful.  Well, let me ask you Karen, are there any another tips that you wild like to share with our listeners as a result of being past of Janet’s program, anything in addition to that that you’ve already shared with us.

Karen: Absolutely yes, well.  Number one tip would get social media savvy because it the way.  It’s the future.  Now, it’s what happening now, so if you’re not social savvy, you’re missing out a lot of really, really good people.  Believe in yourself because when you just start, it could be a bit daunting.  And believing in yourself on what you’re doing and why you’re doing it is essential, that’s will carry through.  There is a process, time and effort is evolved.  Lots of learning, but follow your dream.  Take action, keep moving.  It’s worth it.  There are so many people out there willing to help which is, it’s so joyful when you get to an environment where people actually came to help you.  Listen to what you say, look at what you do and want to part of it.  That’s a very, very nice thing.  You don’t normally get that when you setup a business.  You don’t normally get such a rush of support.  You don’t really know what its look like because it a new world and invest money in yourself.  Invest in yourself, ask for help, and trust the process.

Dana: Oh, my gosh.  Yeah.

Karen: A lot of the tips I thought of are to read “The Laws of Attraction” and read Napoleon Hill’s “Think and Grow Rich.”  Those two books really have a lot of mindset assistance.  They will really help you keep on track.

Dana: Yeah.  They do need to be a part of your success library.  It’s what I call it, my success library has those very books.  And it’s the power of thought, it’s the power of who you are, what you want to become and like you’re getting really to this event, “Who’s The Boss Of You?”  It’s really embracing who you are and you do hold a lot of power within you.

Karen: Yes, yes.  Take the lead, be brave, trust yourself, jump — there are so many words I could put around it, but ultimately Who’s The Boss Of You?  Who’s in control?  It’s not your mom, it’s not your dad, it’s not your partner, it’s not your workplace boss, it’s not the government, it’s not the system that you’re involved in.  The boss of you is you.

Dana: Beautifully said Karen.  Well, I know that we had just a short time together today and for those listeners, I know that you are hanging on the edge of your sit because you want to learn more about Karen and I can tell you that she is very committed to working with her clients to really help growth and help you with your positive change, so for those who want to know more about you Karen, where would you go send them?

Dana: Louise, welcome to the call.

Louise: Thank you so much Dana, it’s wonderful to be here and to join you.

Dana: So if you don’t mind, please share with our listeners a little bit more about you and your business.

Louise: Thanks very much Dana. Yes, we do financial coaching and financial education. My background is actually in accounting and stock broking. And I was involved in those in the financial services industry for over 30 years. But I just didn’t get a buzz from just doing that, so about in 1994 I started up a business, a financial coaching business and what we do is we work with people in an integrated way, Dana. What we don’t know is that people need to understand their financial history, so we work one on one with people and we also have workshops and e-courses and those sorts of things as well for people who can work on their own and enjoy doing some research and just their own personal contemplation as well. And then we’re always here to support them and to help them.

So the business has been going now for about 15, 16 years and John Paul is very involved in looking at and developing our personal profiling tool, which is Your Money Personality. So that helps people get in touch with how money works in their lives and they’re relationship with money. Very, very important, that part of it. In fact, we find Dana, that most people, 85% of their issues around money are around their attitudes and beliefs. And we work mostly with that and we find that once that’s clear and resolved then actually doing the numbers is just really easy for them. So, anyway that’s where we’re at with all of those, with our work. We really enjoy it. We love it; it’s our passion and we’re just constantly finding out new things and bringing new things into the business and really enjoying that and developing it.

Dana: Oh, that is absolutely exciting and really fascinating. Because you mentioned something there that is, it’s not necessarily the personality, but it’s kind of, isn’t it like a mindset or something to that effect. It doesn’t really matter how much money you have but if you really don’t know how to manage it, and it kind of goes with—did you mention personality?

Louise: Yes, well we call it Your Money Personality profiling. But it’s certainly around, that part of it, Dana, is actually based on the Myers-Briggs personality type or the type indicator; a tool that’s used. And what we’ve done is we’ve woven that into a money context, a finance context. Because what we’ve found is that money, people can be a little bit different around their type. Some of your listeners may well be very familiar with the Myers-Briggs which is fantastic. It’s a wonderful tool. Sometimes we’ve found that people operate a little bit differently where money is concerned, so that’s why we know that a person’s financial history is also really, really important as well.

Dana: And it’s extremely, I know personally, it’s very foundational to the future of our success.

Louise: Absolutely, absolutely.

Dana: That’s so wonderful.

Louise: We found the financial foundations to be an important part; you know we can do whatever we want from there, but we’ve got to get those foundations in because that’s what we base all of our financial decisions on and indeed our life decisions as well.

Dana: That is so interesting. Now, you have been a member of Wonderful Web Women for quite some time now, haven’t you?

Louise: Yes we have. We were so lucky to find Janet, I have to say. We discovered Janet about two years ago and just, the wonderful thing that she has is that there’s different levels of interaction or connection for want of a better word. She has a freebie or a dollar  month offer. So we did that just to get to feel what she was doing and how she was doing it, I think more than anything. I think it’s really important to get matches, you know a match with the people, all the people that you’re working with. So that’s how we found out about her two years ago.

Dana: Oh my goodness. Was there, now Janet, you mentioned really the frequency.  That you can start out too as a free member and then she goes up to her gold members. She has coaching. She has all kinds of different facets of the Wonderful Web community. Was there, and I’m sure you’ve probably been, if you’ve been around for two years or that timeframe, you have probably been on just a ton of phone calls that she’s conducted and a lot of interviews. Was there one in particular that really is a standout for you that you can remember?

Louise: Oh, most definitely. They’re all fabulous and the other great thing about it is that you can re-visit them, as a gold member you can re-visit those, any of those interviews at any time, which is a fabulous resource. But there’s one for me that stands out, Dana, and that was with Nancy Marmolejo . . .

Dana: Yes?

Louise: She’s the social networking queen.

Dana: She is.

Louise: She was marvelous. She took my interest and really helped me understand how it works first of all, and also how powerful it and also gave some parameters because I didn’t really understand how it worked and what was appropriate and you know, how much you pushed your business or you didn’t and just how it worked, and the flow of it. And Nancy’s an absolute master at that. So I got a lot from that. It was very, very empowering and gave me a great sense of relief, I suppose really. Because then I had some boundaries and a process to understand, to use.

Dana: And that’s actually, we had a little break in the audio in the beginning, Louise. You’re really speaking in terms of the social media aspect and how to really engage and communicate with really the community there without feeling you’re pushing too much of the business on them.

Louise: That’s right Dana, exactly. The thing that Nancy has done for me is to give me some parameters and some boundaries and understanding around how social media works and how to build on that. And then of course Janet’s done, has given me more information about that. But Nancy’s really been fantastic about that. And she’s a wonderful model, Nancy’s a wonderful model.

Dana: She is.

Louise: I’ve signed up with her as well and I get constant reminders and guidance around the social media and interaction with that. It’s great. It’s really great.

Dana: I would have to say as well that really between the two women, between Janet and Nancy, the one thing I think when we first come online and we start engaging in social media, the one thing we don’t realize is there really is an etiquette.  And we just don’t know until we start getting in there, and both of those women are just wonderful to get you to understand it’s really all about building relationships.

Louise: Exactly. Exactly. And not only do they talk about it Dana, but they model it. They actually live it. They walk the talk and that was the thing that attracted me for both of them.

Dana: Yes. I definitely agree. Now was there something in particular in the social media aspect, since you mentioned Nancy’s call, is there anything in particular that you learned about one medium over another? Do you tend to fancy Twitter over Facebook, or do you have a favorite?

Louise: I have to say Facebook is my favorite. I really enjoy that. I’m just getting into the blogging now so I can’t really comment about the blogging as such. But I’m really enjoying Facebook, I must say. It’s just been good. It’s just wonderful. I think for me, what I realized again through Nancy and through Janet is that to start with you can just share things that you found really interesting or helpful or useful and then sort of, then create some personal contact along the line from that. So that was a great place for me to start. Just finding different resources or different articles and then sharing those on my Facebook page. And I think then if people found that useful or not useful, and so that helped me too, to then decide whether that was going to be good for clients or not as well. So it was almost like a little mini-market research thing as well.

Dana: Absolutely.

Louise: It was great.

Dana: And we always love to be able to share those great resources with others because it’s all about providing the value and that’s definitely what we do.

Louise: Absolutely.

Dana: Fantastic. Well, are there any other tips that you would like to share as a result of being a member of Wonderful Web Women?

Louise: Look, I think really for me and for John Paul, for both of us, we found that while we we can go so far with internet side and the marketing and those sorts of things, but what we found was most important is to have somebody coaching us. I mean we know how important it is for our clients, our financial clients, financial coaching clients, how important it is for them to just have somebody to be there, to have a chat with, to run something past, to ask questions of and to actually be held accountable as well. So, we’ve found that that’s been really, really useful and Janet offers that.

Dana: Absolutely.

Louise: She’s a fantastic coach, she’s so positive and she’s really enthusiastic and she’s creative. She can see the big picture. She’s got wonderful vision. So for us we found that really, really, really useful. We also felt that we’re good at what we do, with all due—you know we don’t try to blow the trumpet, but you know, we are, that’s our specialty, that’s our expertise. Our expertise is not in creating websites. So, it’s wonderful to have a team there that we know and so they[inaudible 00:11:08] and so they can do the nitty-gritty, the nuts and bolts of putting the site together, getting it up and running. We provide the content but it’s so great to have that team there that we know is looking after the backend of the business, of the online business. So, for us then we can focus on our business and on our clients. Not having to worry about the website all the time.

Dana: Very good.

Louise: That’s priceless as far as we’re concerned.

Dana: That is absolutely wonderful. So that would lead me to, so you’re not only just utilizing Janet’s program in particular with her training and coaching and her interviewing, but are you also using the, her Wonderful Web Solutions? Are you having them build your website?

Louise: Yes, that’s right, Dana. That’s right.

Dana: Oh, that’s wonderful.

Louise: In fact we’re just about to go online.

Dana: She has Wonderful Web everything.

Louise: We do. We’re Wonderful Web converts, I can assure you.

Dana: Well it sounds like it. And you know what’s really interesting and you made a really good point Louise and I really need to kind of drive this home, is you kind of took Janet for a test drive in the beginning, which is what she encourages people to do. Because you do need to have that right fit, and you do need to really complement each other and it’s very evident to me that Janet has really complemented you and John Paul in your business. Because not only has she been able to provide the coaching and inspiration and empowerment but also a platform to help you continue to build your business so you can keep enjoying the creative side in helping others.

Louise: That’s exactly it Dana. And what we know is that their team, the Wonderful Web team because they love the internet and they love the techie side of things, is that they’re constantly checking out new information and new widgets and new all of the techie side, and so we know that we’re going to get cutting-edge, right up to the minute technology as well.

Dana: Yeah, you are definitely in good hands; that’s for sure. But you have clearly showed all of us and all of the listeners that are here with us right now have really been able to really glean from this conversation that Janet and the Wonderful Web community has really been an inspiration and light for you in your business. Now I also in turn, because you and John Paul really do give such value to, I know people that really have to have that firm foundation on the money issues and how to handle things especially while they’re building a new business, or an existing business, is they really need to get clear and have clarity on the money issues. After being in the army for nine years, she ended up with a diagnosis of depression, which forced her to re-evaluate what she was doing with her life and, as a result she left the military to study natural health and nutrition.

Over the last nine years, she has  been on a path to discover the secrets to health and well being and believes that for us, as women, it all starts with learning how to ‘be’ rather than ‘do’. It is about balancing your own personal ‘yin and yang‘ – the male and female parts that exist together, and make up your individual human being.

Dana: Kirsty welcome to the call.

Kirsty: Thanks for having me Dana. I’m excited to be here.

Dana: Well, it is our pleasure, thank you for taking time to join us today. If you don’t mind, please share with our listeners a little bit more about you and your business.

Kirsty: Yeah, okay. I work with professional women, both business owners and women in a corporate environment and I work to help them overcome their self-imposed barriers to success. So what I do with them is I help them to balance the personal and professional aspects of their lives, so they can rid their body of stress and anxiety and as a result they feel younger, healthier and more energized. And the work that we do together allows them to get the flow back into their professional life which eases the pressure in their personal life, as we all know.

But a bit about me, was I was an army officer for nine years, so I was working in a very male-dominated environment and in 2002 I was diagnosed with depression. I took that as an opportunity to re-evaluate where I was in my life and I didn’t like it, frankly, so I left the military. And I decided to study naturopathy. So I realized a little while ago that the women I was attracting as clients were those who enjoyed what their careers means to them, particularly financial security and independence, but they found themselves at a point where they were starting to ask, what about me? So the work that we do together is aimed at balancing the ying and yang in our own bodies so the male and female aspects of our own bodies. It’s fun and it allows them to really get back their flow.

Dana: Wow. You have left me with the wow! That is an exciting, exciting business and I will tell you personally, when you are trying to develop a business, whether it be online or offline businesses, it’s, I think hard for women, you know, we’re emotional creatures anyway, but we suppress  a lot. Men kind of go off and do their thing, but we tend to kind of hold everything on our shoulders and try to do it all and so many women fall into the same pattern that I just heard from you. And just the fact that you are now reaching out and addressing this and helping so many other women and men, I think that’s absolutely fantastic.

Kirsty: Yeah, because we get to the point where we realize that we’re just doing everything for everybody and we become so exhausted because we’re not giving anything back to ourselves, which actually doesn’t allow us to receive all the other great stuff that could come to us. So the work that we do allows women to get back in touch with that female aspect of their body and do more being, rather than doing.

Dana: That is so awesome. And I think we need to do that for ourselves, it’s so important because we won’t be able to enjoy all that we worked so hard for if we are out of balance.

Kirsty: Yeah, definitely.

Dana: Oh Kirsty, what a great, what a great business you have.

Kirsty: I love it.

Dana: Oh, I bet you do, it’s very rewarding. You have been, I’m assuming you’ve been a member of Wonderful Web Women for quite some time now. How long have you been a member?

Kirsty: I’ve been a member for about a year now. I joined up as a free member about 12 months ago. And I became a gold member in early January, around early January because I wanted to become, I wanted to be a contributing author in the law of attraction book.

Dana: Oh fantastic! Congratulations.

Kirsty: Thanks. It was my first venture into becoming an author.

Dana: Well I know Janet really gives a great opportunity for authors to her gold members and it’s really, that’s another great way, because it’s an international best-selling book.

Kirsty: Yes, yeah- great opportunity to get out there and just get known, so it was a great opportunity that Janet offers.

Dana: Well, and then I would also assume Kirsty that you probably have been able to, especially because of your contributing section there in the book, you’ve probably really connected with some of the other gold members that Janet has in the community.

Kirsty: Yeah, and especially Janet just had a workshop in Sydney, which was fantastic and I connected with quite a few of the other gold members there.

Dana: Oh, that is so exciting. Because then you can actually put the face to the name and the voice and it’s really neat because you all have this common denominator and that’s just the desire to be who you are, to come into your own and really make a difference in the lives of other people. So what a great room! I can’t imagine the energy that was in that room.

Kirsty: Oh, it was a fantastic place.

Dana: I heard it was and I would have jumped on a plane and been over there in a heartbeat if I could have. Well good for you. Now, so let’s go back to the membership. Now we obviously know that you’re a gold member, but you obviously started as a free member first. So I’m assuming over the past year you’ve probably been exposed to several of Janet’s training calls. Was there one in particular that really kind of helped you move towards your current business or was there any kind of breakthrough moments that you had on a call?

Kirsty: Yeah, well there are so many great calls that Janet has, and so much useful information comes from those. Bu the one that really stuck with me, Dana, was I listened to Janet’s call earlier this year with Debbie Latrousa and I hadn’t listened to heaps of calls but I really had a strong urge to listen to that one because I’d read the blurb about what they were talking about and I really felt that I wanted to listen to that one and I wanted to listen all the way through. And it was funny because a few days earlier I’d been struggling with where to next in my business and Debbie’s message just really resonated  with me because over the last couple of years I’d tried to model the way others did business but I just hadn’t made any traction. So, I loved Debbie’s message because she was all about becoming you in your business and bringing that passion of yourself into your business. So her message just really resonated with me.

Dana: And isn’t that so important because so many times when we see things that are being broadcast or you’re listening to another call and you almost want to kind of fill into someone else’s model and the reason you don’t see that success is because you’re not coming into your own and who you are.

Kirsty: Yeah, that’s right, because I learned just from listening to that call that those other models that I tried to work with actually didn’t fit me because they’re all based on someone else’s ideas and so there wasn’t any passion there from me and I just realized when I wasn’t passionate about what I’m doing that I’m working so much harder and doing that trying to be everything to everybody, because it isn’t coming naturally. And so that’s why I was feeling frustrated and tired and like I didn’t know where to go next.

Dana: Well and that would obviously lead me to the next question, really was what did you learn? So obviously kind of summarizing that, just by coming into your own you’ve started to really, I’m assuming, really start to build that traction for your life and your business now, is that correct?

Kirsty: Yeah, definitely. Just injecting myself into my business and knowing that it’s okay and yes, I know there’s other women, other people out there that do the same thing, do similar things to what I do, but they’re not the same as me, so they don’t bring me into their business. And you know that’s really empowering.

Dana: It’s extremely empowering. And you start feeling like you can do what you have been put on this earth to do and that is extremely empowering.

Kirsty: Yeah.

Dana: Well good for you. Well, you know, we are very proud of you here at Wonderful Web Radio and because you’re one of our rising stars we really want to give you an opportunity to really let the listeners know a little bit more about you and your business and I know I’m just intrigued with it because I know you’re going to bring so much value and just contribute just so much to these women’s lives. But before we do that, I just want to ask you, because you’re a rising star we’d love to recognize you, are there any other tips that you would personally like to share as a result of being a member of Wonderful Web Women?

Kirsty: There’s just one real tip Dana, and that’s if it feels right, do it. I believe that that gut instinct is so powerful but so often we just ignore it out of fear and also because we do suppress our emotions. So we’ve got the fear of failure, fear of success, fear of all those things and you know you’re following your heart and your passion and you don’t think about it too much but you just jump right in and give it a go and so if I could share any tip, it’s just give it a go, if it feels right, just do it.

Toni-Louise shares how she was inspired when Janet Beckers woke one morning to find that her ‘online’ business had disappeared overnight, yet found the courage to get up, start again and make something better from the ashes and foundations left behind. She has also learned the power behind mentoring programs and joint venture opportunities since becoming a member of Wonderful Web Women.

Dana: Today it’s my pleasure to introduce all of you to Toni-Louise Forsythe. Toni-Louise, welcome to the call.

Toni-Louise: Hi Dana, thank you.

Dana: Well we are thrilled, thrilled, thrilled, thrilled to have you because I know personally what you and your partner, we’ve already been speaking to Sue Murphy a few episodes ago, so we know that you’ve got that wonderful partnership, but I would love it if you’d spend just a minute or two and tell our listeners a little bit more about you and your community of Working Women Online.

Toni-Louise: Excellent. I would love to. Well, I’m a single mom, actually, of three children and I’ve been in the personal development industry, working in that industry for about four to five years now. And in February this year I attended a website-building course and happened to meet my now business partner, Sue Murphy, who you’ve had on your call. And we formed our business, Working Women Online in April this year.

At the time we met we discovered that we both worked in the personal development industry and we both shared a common goal and a passion and a vision to not only have an online business of our own, but a real passion to connect, encourage, empower and provide knowledge for women on the internet who are looking to either work from home online or looking to change their job outside of the home.

And we also were very mindful of in our own lives, of having that work-life balance and we wanted to let women know they could have that, to empower them to know it’s possible to have all that and have it all successfully on all levels in your life. So, our business is really about interviewing the experts who help the listeners create a life of balance and leverage their time to help them launch their own online business or turn a career or hobby into a purposeful, passion-filled income stream for them and their family.

Dana: And what a difference that makes in our lives, doesn’t it?

Toni-Louise: Oh doesn’t it? So much. When you can really have that balance happening it’s just, you feel like you’re in so much more alignment.

Dana: Oh absolutely. And I love the fact that you mention work-life balance; and I’m thinking it’s hard. We juggle life and family and business and you know, our own personal time, because we’ve got to be able to give back to ourselves, and it’s hard to keep that balance.

Toni-Louise: Yeah, it really can be. And somewhere in there, if you’re not careful of keeping that balance, you tend to lose yourself a little bit along the way.

Dana: Yeah, and that’s the goal. We don’t want to get lost.

Toni-Louise:       No.

Dana: So now, Toni-Louise, I know that you said—now I think you said you met Sue, actually at a website-building course. Now was that your first introduction, did that have something to do with Janet Beckers and the Wonderful Web community or was that outside of Janet’s program?

Toni-Louise: That was actually outside of Janet’s program. But I’ve watched and admired Janet for a couple of years now and I’ve seen her incredible growth of her business. And what I find is Janet is a wonderful mentor not only to us, but to so many other women—and men—let’s not forget the men; because she not only talks the talk, but she also walks the walk. And what really drew Sue and I to Janet and to her program is she’s so passionate about bringing the most successful women on the internet and sharing their stories with us and she’s just so generous and giving with her knowledge. She’s very authentic and so genuine in her desire to inspire women and cares in helping you achieve your dreams and goals through taking inspired action.

Dana: Absolutely and it is all about the action. Now was there a particular call or an event that you attended that really made the shift for you and Sue to really take this new business venture on?

Toni-Louise: I’ve listened to so many of Janet’s calls and like I said, I’ve followed her the last couple of years. I would have to say recently, one that really stood out for me because it really touched my heart for her, was a call called the Phoenix Rises from the Ashes, where Janet talked about the re-launch of Wonderful Web Women and I think what that really gave me was just a real admiration for Janet that such a terrible travesty, something I would see as a huge drama at the time, became an opportunity to pull herself together and re-launch Wonderful Web Women with such a passion. And that just stood out in her passion to really help people. And it showed me that if you really have that passion and love for what you’re doing then you can go on to shine and create more of that brilliance and really give back to the community. And Janet does that constantly by way of the content that she offers. So I would say that was one of the calls that really touched me. I mean, at that point, she could have seen that as such a heavy load and gone, oh I just can’t bother doing this anymore, but her love and her passion for what she brings to us, her listeners and her community is something that I just admire so much.

Dana: Oh, absolutely. And for our listeners that may not know exactly what Toni-Louise is speaking of, Janet actually woke up one day to not just one online business, but her main online stream of income as well as a few other companies they launched, basically disappeared overnight. Their web host just disappeared. And it was absolutely crushing and devastating and I think for a couple of days she really struggled and spiraled but then she realized that you know what? I love what I do and my community is counting on me and I am going to make something, you know, instead of making—what does she say? She took lemons and didn’t just stop at making lemonade. That girl went out and started making margaritas.

Toni-Louise: Margaritas, yeah!

Dana: Absolutely! And we’re just so proud of really her stick-to-itiveness and her dedication to her community. It just, it really just spoke volumes about who she is.

Toni-Louise: Absolutely.

Dana: That was a great takeaway. So over the period of time that you’ve been dealing with the Wonderful Web community and now this new online business that you and Sue have created; what would you say that, how have you really applied what you’ve learned from the Wonderful Web community into this new business?

Toni-Louise: Look, Dana, I would say there are the very obvious things, I guess, like we’ve learned how to become the expert in your niche by interviewing the experts. We’ve really learned the importance of having a mentor and having that person to look up to and someone who’s done it before you. You know, got that blueprint for success and Janet’s done that and that’s something we’ve really learned is the importance of having a mentor.

We’ve also learned how valuable a mastermind group is and having that community or tribe of women to share ideas with and to talk about what you’re up to with your business and have the opportunity to learn from those other women where they’re up to and what they can . . . you know it’s just, mastermind is a brilliant way of helping each other and guiding each other. And we’ve also learned the power of joint venture networking and that’s enabled us to grow our business to where it is today.

Dana: Fantastic. Now, are there any other tips, before we let you go and before we let you go I also, all you listeners out there, those women that want to know more about Toni-Louise and Sue’s business, Working Women Online, hang tight just for a minute because I want you to really get some information from Toni-Louise before we let her go. So, are there any other tips that you would like to share with our listeners about maybe, whether they’re building a business from the start or if they’re maybe struggling in their business. What would you like to share with them?

Toni-Louise: Oh sure, look, I would say definitely find as I just said, definitely find a mentor whose values you admire and respect because it’s much easier to feel well-aligned and on purpose in your business if you respect what that mentor has already done before you. I would say be a part of a mastermind group, as I said before, other women that you can share your story and ideas with, other people who can help keep you accountable and it’s also just a fun thing to be able to relate to a group of women on a similar journey.

And don’t give up. Even when you feel like you’re in a state of overwhelm and you’re up till 2:00 in the morning, sometimes new things you’re trying to learn along the way can seem really difficult at the time and really mind-boggling, but I think the old saying goes: just when you think you’re about to have a breakdown it’s a sign to just push through and it’s normally a breakthrough. And you can have some incredible achievement at that particular time.

And I would just say to Janet’s experience of losing her websites earlier this year and rising from the ashes, her sheer love for her business, her passion, her will and her tenacity, it all really helped me learn that having that real passion for what you’re doing, really loving what you’re doing is the reason that you don’t give up. And they are just a few of the tips that I’d like to say.

Dana: Well those are very, very powerful tips. Thank you so much for sharing that because I heard your passion through that message as well. Dana: In this segment we’re going to be speaking with one of our very own rising stars. So today it’s my personal pleasure to introduce you all to Danielle Chonody; Danielle, welcome.

Danielle: Hello, it’s great to be here.

Dana: Well, hopefully I said your last name correctly.

Danielle: You were pretty close. It’s Chonody.

Dana: Chonody! Okay, well we’ve got that now; so Danielle Chonody. Well Danielle, for the listeners who don’t yet know anything about you if you could just share with us a little bit about you and what you do, a little bit about your business.

Danielle: Well, I started my business in 2003 and initially I started off just as a home based pet-sitting business, doing in-home pet sitting. We basically care for people’s pets when they travel on vacation or if they have a long workday, sometimes we’ll do midday visits. Since 2003 it’s really grown and it’s kind of launched a couple of other businesses for me. Also blogging and sharing what I’ve learned with other pet sitters and that’s kind of led into me starting an association this past April with another pet sitter, called The Association of Pet Sitting Excellence.

Dana: Oh, how exciting. You know I’m finding, do you see, especially since you’ve been in the business since 2003, do you see this big influx of more and more pet sitting businesses and more involved owners of pets who want to make sure that their pets are looked after during the daytimes or walked, the park or things like that?

Danielle: Yeah, I really think the overall awareness of pet sitting has grown since I first started and there’s definitely a lot of new pet sitters entering the market because the demand is growing as the awareness is growing.  It’s an alternative to boarding pets where they’re in a very noisy and perhaps stressful environment. So there are a lot of pets out there that just are not really suited to that and they’re a lot more comfortable in their home. So I think yeah, the awareness is growing and with that there are a lot more brand new pet sitting businesses out there.

Dana: Well, and like you said, you really said it beautifully as far as the awareness, because I think more pet owners are being very concerned about taking their pets to a place maybe they’re not familiar or comfortable with, especially if their owners have to be away for a period of time. Because I’ve got two, one is very friendly, she loves everybody and I’ve got one who is scared to death of everybody. So the anxiety level . . .

Danielle: Oh, we have the same! We have the same, but we have cats.  So I know you have dogs.

Dana: Yeah, so it’s the anxiety level and you know when you love your pets as much as I know we do, to just reassure them and let someone that they start to feel comfortable with come to the home. What a great service that you have. I love it; I love what you’re doing. Now tell me a little bit more and share with everybody how you were first introduced to Janet Beckers and the Wonderful Web community.

Danielle: Well it’s been several years and I think I was probably one of the early members of Wonderful Web Women. I’m currently a lifetime gold member. And I think I was introduced to Wonderful Web Women through Alli Brown. I’d kind of been a follower of Alli’s for about five years and I know she was one of Janet’s early interviews.

Dana: Well how exciting, and I know, because we spoke a little bit earlier, not only have you been with Janet for probably, she’s been doing this now for well over two years, and so you’ve also had the pleasure to meet with her in person, too, at Alli Brown’s Shine event last year.

Danielle: Yes, that was really great. And as we were talking before the call, Janet also set me up with a roommate for that Shine event and we really hit it off and we’re still really good friends.

Dana:  Isn’t that something? It’s very, it seems like there’s this common thread that Janet seems to attract some just fantastic like-minded women who we just all get along. We all have this common ground of excellence. How awesome. And Janet is probably like I know, just as true-blue over the phone as she is in person.

Danielle: Yes she was, very down to earth.

Dana: Oh, wonderful. Now, tell me, because you’ve been involved for so long and I know you’re a lifetime gold member, which means you’ve been part of Janet’s community now for over two years, was there, you’ve listened to a lot of phone calls and interviews that Janet has done; was there any one particular call over that period of time, you know back then or even recently, that really has made an impact on you and your business?

Danielle: I think it was probably one of the very early calls. Unfortunately in recent times I’ve been really busy and I haven’t been able to catch as many of her calls as I used to when I first got started. But Janet did a very early call about how she actually got started with Wonderful Web Women. And that probably made the biggest impact on me because it kind of drove home the point that I didn’t need to be an expert in every part of the pet-sitting business to help other pet sitters. And so I kind of came to realize that I could be the connector between business experts and pet sitters to try and share some of that knowledge.

Dana: Oh good, good point. So, it’s probably a really good sign Danielle that you’ve been so busy that you can’t listen to as many of the calls. But isn’t that the beauty of being a gold member of Janet’s is that you have access to those calls and the resources and the cheat sheets and everything that you need, and the transcripts, just literally by going to the website. So you have access to them when you want to go through them.

Danielle: Yes, and I also love her newsletter. I think I did get connected up with Pam Brosnan . . .

Dana: Oh yeah.

Danielle: Who does a lot of videos and I kind of caught on, she’s doing a virtual magazine and we may actually incorporate that into what we provide our members in the association.

Dana: Yeah, Pam is just a wonderful, wonderful person that’s come from Janet and I know I was actually featured in her last magazine. So she’s great to stay connected with and again, she’s another one that really attracts the same like-minded people. So definitely get into that magazine. So now tell me, moving forward, now that we’re going ahead now two years, how have you really been able to take what you learned and really apply it into your business?

Danielle: Well, probably about a year and a half ago, fairly, again, fairly early on in the Wonderful Web Women history, I basically took the model that Janet was using for Wonderful Web Women and started my own little coaching club for pet sitters, where I would each month interview a business expert and share that with the group. And then we also did a little bit of masterminding very similar to what Janet’s also done with Wonderful Web Women. So that was quite successful and that idea kind of grew and was the springboard for the launch of the association that we’ve started for pet sitters.

Dana: Fantastic! Well, my gosh; how much you’ve grown; and the ideas that you’ve come up with just in the last two years.

Danielle: Yeah, it has. It’s kind of amazed me because I have been working a full time job. I actually walked away from that on Wednesday, so this is my second day as a full time business owner.

Dana: Oh my gosh! Yeah, we’re recording this call on a Friday, so you were actually able to walk away from your full time job just two days ago?

Danielle: Yes, Wednesday was my last day. So I’m still kind of acclimating to the news.

Dana: Oh, congratulations! Oh my gosh, I just feel so privileged that we got you when we did. That is awesome to be able to share with everybody that you know, you just have that passion and that dream and if you continue to work it you can replace your full time income. Well congratulations! I’m so excited for you.

Danielle: Well, thank you.

Dana: Well now moving forward, because obviously you are one of our rising stars and I know that you have a lot to share and I want to give everybody the opportunity to find out more about you, but before I do that, is there any other tips that you personally would like to share with our listeners about building an online business or really pursuing your dreams and what it’s meant to you to be a part of Janet’s community?

Danielle: Yeah, one of the things I learned from Janet is to not be afraid to dream big. I guess if you’d asked me a couple of years ago if I’d start a new association I would have probably laughed at you that that was just crazy. But yeah, it just kind of came together and happened. I met another pet sitter who also had some big dreams and we put it together and took action, little small steps at a time and you can do big things with small steps.

Dana: You definitely can. Well, how exciting! Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to join us and sharing not only your success story, but gosh, the fact that you were able to leave your full time job. I just, I think there are so many people that are out there aspiring to do that and I’m just thrilled that we were able to catch you so new into it. So congratulations.

Joanna talks to Dana about when she first met Janet Beckers and became introduced to the Wonderful Web Community – and how Joanna and Janet mutually share their knowledge and resources to help each other out in business. Joanna is truly a shooting star and this is a wonderful enlightening interview not to be missed..

Dana: Today it’s my pleasure to introduce all of you to Joanna Martin!  Joanna, welcome to the call.

Joanna: Thank you very much, Dana.  It’s a pleasure to be with you.

Dana: Well, we are really excited.  And for those of you listening, I want to share with you just, just a little bit, I want to let Joanna tell you about her in a minute.  But normally, in this segment we feature a Rising Star.  But Joanna is, I tell you, she’s not just a Rising Star, she’s a shooting star.  She has already risen and I know that she’s extremely passionate about helping others do the same.  So, you’re in for a treat.   So, Joanna for just a couple of moments, if you could just share with our listeners a little bit more about you and your business.

Joanna: Sure.  Absolutely!  What myself and my partner Greg do now, is we run got a business called Shift Lifestyle.  And I guess the mission of Shift Lifestyle is really to work with business owners to help them to create a life, not just a living.  Many of us start our businesses with high hopes and big dreams.  And our passion for what we do can burn us out very quickly, if we’re not keeping an eye on, on what we want from a lifestyle perspective.  And that’s something that came out I guess, of my background.   I started my working life as a medical doctor, way back when — it wasn’t that long ago, I guess.  [chuckles] I was pretty good at it but I didn’t love it.  And when one of my patients whom I was very close to passed away, I realized, you know, we’ve only got one chance at this life, we’ve only got one opportunity there to make our stand, to make a difference.

So, it was that time that I decided to follow my heart and I followed it all the way to drama school, which is my other great passion in life.   And I loved that, but it was while at drama school that I went to my very first seminar.  I suppose it was a personal development seminar.   While I was sitting there in that room looking up at the fellow on stage, I thought to myself, “that, that’s what I want to do.”  It’s a perfect mix of really making a difference and helping people and also the performative aspect.

I then became a speaker.  In my first twelve months as professional speaker I might have made 1.25 million dollars in sales.  So pretty much nailed the model.   And for the last three years we’ve been running shift speaker training, which is helping speakers to make money, not just make a difference.  And we’ve recently launched Shift Lifestyle, which is to assist all small businesses owners in getting their life looking  just how they want it.  Because Greg and I really quite blessed to have a fabulous lifestyle to what we do.   But it was one that was very consciously designed; none of it happened just by accident.   So, you know we kind of created a process as we went through and that’s the process that I now share with people.

Dana: Oh my gosh.   So, all of you listening just remember what she just said here.   She made over 1.25 million sales in her first twelve months of public speaking.   This is why we really love to refer to her as that shooting star because, you know, she took this idea, and this passion, and this love of knowing what she wanted and she went after it.   So, this is why we really want to feature her today and have all of you blessed to hear what she has to say.   So, Joanna if you could, share with our listeners how you were first introduced to Janet Beckers and the Wonderful Web Community?

Joanna: You know I looking at the kind of questions you sent through — I was trying to remember where I met Janet.   And it’s quite ironic actually, because I was introduced to Janet through mutual friends of ours, Andrew and Daryl Grant.   They are both faculty members of a community called Our Internet Secrets.  And the reason it’s ironic is that, I’m sitting out at Andrew and Daryl’s apartment doing this interview and thinking, “You got me, you got me here,” it was a roundabout.

Dana: Oh, my goodness.

Joanna: So I was introduced through a mutual friend and I did an interview with Janet on Wonderful Web Women and we just hit it off.  We just really got on like a house on fire.  And then I helped her with one of her presentations she had coming up, she was travelling to the States for a presentation, so I assisted her with that.

And then she started helping me out with my business, talking about you know, how she got her stuff online.  And it’s just kind of you know a two way street helping each other out wherever we can.   She’s an incredible woman and so generous.   I’m just blessed to know her.

Dana: Well, it obviously goes both ways because she has just been singing your praises as well and thinks you were just absolutely wonderful and you’re very passionate and your energy.  Those of you that, that don’t know who Joanna Martin is yet, once you get to know her, go to her website-  we’ll give you the link at the end.  You’ll see, she just lights up the page, I mean you’re it’s just you exude even through her website.   So, that’s why we are so excited, you can tell my energy and excitement as well.  So, I can see that not only are you a speakers’ coach and you help people really bring their voice to stage and earn an, really an incredible amount of income from speaking from stage.  But you’re also very passionate about helping people design their life and their business.   So, with that business model in mind, gosh, can you tell us a little bit more about the importance of designing our life and our business?

Joanna: Yeah, absolutely.   I think — I guess it’s kind out of my experience.  I mean, I was very good at what I did, with  speaking.  I mean, when people used to ask me what I did, I would tell them I’m a speaker, that’s what I do.  And I was very, very good at it and I’ve travelled all around the world.  l was in the States, I would be in Australia or the U.K.   I spent probably around five thousand hours on stage in, in a very short period of time.  And while I loved it and I loved the difference that I was making, there was a moment where I woke up, I remember it was my thirtieth birthday and I thought to myself, “I’m on the other side of the world, my family are back in Australia, I’m Skype calling on my thirtieth birthday.”  Which for all women who ever turned thirty, you remember it, it was quite traumatic.   [laughs]

Dana: Yeah. [laughs]

Joanna: And I was really thinking and I hadn’t seen my partner Greg for like, four months at the time, I think, three or four months.  And so I thought, “This wasn’t in the plan.”   I’m doing what I love.  I’m following my heart.  I’m turning my passion into profit as Janet would say.   However, I’ve locked myself in it.  And it was at that time that I realized that I need to start over.  And I needed to start over designing my life first, and then designing my business to fit in to the lifestyle that I wanted.  Because many people, many people, have what Michael Gerber refers to as “the entrepreneurial seizure.”  They’ll start a business in something, because either they’re passionate about or they think they can do a better job at it than their boss does, only to wind up busier than when they were an employee.

And so, what I’m really, really passionate about doing is helping people to create lifestyle first.  So we take, this is what Greg and I did, I finished up the business that I was working with at that time.  And I moved back to Melburne with Greg.  We did, he, he forbade me for making a decision for four months.  God blessed me to be in the financial position to be able to do that.  But it allowed me to space to just get clear on what would we’ve wanted for our life.  And we sat down and to do a goal setting session, but it actually didn’t turn in to goals.  We actually sat and created what we now refer to as our lifestyle criteria.  And without that lifestyle criteria we would never created the business that we have.

We’ve, we’ve got a brilliant business now which allows us to be totally, totally geographically free.  That means we can run it from anywhere in the world.   I mean, just in the last twelve months we’ve traveled to the U.K., to the South of France, to Turkey, to Thailand, to all around Australia, to Switzerland, and the States, I think, that’s probably a smattering of where we’ve been in the last 12 months.   Because we love, we love the gypsy lifestyle.  We love traveling.  And that’s all been set up to be on purpose.  We also are totally free, from a time perspective.  We can work when we choose to work, rather than when others want us to work.  We had very few one on one client in fact none really.   Occasionally, I’ll do a little bit of one on one work, but rarely because we really want everything that we do to be leveraged and fit in our lifestyle.   And shift speaker training with our first kind of template business model and we created something during that called, as we built that business up called, what we now refer to as the Elegant Business Model.   And it’s that elegant business model based very firmly in my lifestyle criteria, which need to be articulated from a place of serenity and a place of calm.  So, you know that, that’s what the Shift Lifestyle and the lifestyle design process that I take people through is all about.

We really helped the people to find that place of serenity, calm, and connection to their source, whatever they referred to as source.   And from that place craft earth and lifestyle criteria, then select what business vehicle is going to fit inside of that and then help them to create an elegant business model from that and to build the team around them to facilitate it.   And it’s one of the most rewarding journey that I’ve ever taken.   People taking own this lifestyle shift journey.   When we did that to the first time that twelve months ago with that first group of peoples, the feedback we got was just incredible because for the first time people were really stepping into the driver state.   Sometimes I think you know, just because you’re passionate about something means that we really got to go out and make it happen.   But we don’t give thought to the end game and how we really want it to look and for anything like me that means you’d burn out before you realize that, if you love what you do you put everything into it.   So, we really need to be clear about; where is this going and how do I actually want all aspects of my life to look, not just my business.

Dana: Joanna I  love that, it makes sense that even the name of your business now and the shift lifestyle and it really is about taking those shifts and having,  I don’t know that any of us really have true balance in our life.   But creating the lifestyle and the business and the model around what you’re passionate about is just so powerful.   But like you said if it’s not done in the correct way.  You know our passion kind of takes over sometimes and we all will suffer burnout very, very quickly.

Joanna: Yeah.  Especially us ladies you know, if we find something we care about we will put it before all of our needs and in doing that you know we, we lose ourselves.  We’re really good at losing ourselves in our causes, in our families, in our partners, and in our relationships because we’re passionate.  You know, when we’re passionate our boundaries just start to dissolve.   So, we really want to make sure you know that when we start out on the journey of career, especially because it’s quite a masculine paradigm but we women need to, we really need to be very clear about the purpose and not just the purpose of it from a self-expression of business perspective which is important don’t get me wrong, you got to have passion and it’s got to be about self expression.   But equally we need to give consideration to how does this feed quite literally, how did this feed me and how does it feed my soul, how does it feed my family, and how does it feed my relationship, how does it feed the lifestyle that I wanna have in the world?

Dana: And that really that’s a perfect segway into really what my next question was gonna be for you, because women you know, we are so emotional.   And like you said, I know I do and I know most of my female friends.   We always do put others above ourselves and we don’t take care of our health and you know the exercise and the diet and all those things ‘cause we’re so busy you know doing for others.   So, that would bring me to my next question is: what do you feel is the biggest barrier or struggle that women entrepreneurs face when we start a new business or even continue developing a business that we have?

Joanna: Yeah, I can only speak for my own personal experiences and anecdotal experience I’ve had working with women entrepreneurs over the years and I do tend to attract a few very passionate women to the course of business that we run.   For myself, the biggest obstacle for me was thinking that being in business meant having to being a man.   I really, I think that business, in and of itself, is a masculine paradigm.   It’s all about results.  It’s all about focussed creation of result and men brains are perfectly designed to do that.   I mean we all have experiences like, I think of Greg; if he’s busy or busy on something,  he’s totally single focused on getting a result with that thing and he doesn’t like being interrupted.   Women, for women, that’s not where our brain goes naturally.  We’re naturally our brain and hormones are built for us to have total diffuse awareness to you know if you think back to cave, cave man, cave woman you know we needed to have one hand tending the fire and make sure it didn’t go out cooking a meal, looking after the children, looking after you know, keeping an eye out for the elders making sure that you know that there’s no lions coming while the men are out you know slaying the woolly mammoth.   We gotta be aware of everything all the same time.   While that can be an asset in business it can also have us take on too much because we can, because it’s possible for us.

So the thing is, in order to operate in a way for us to get results in business we tend naturally to rely on hormone of testosterone and we have nowhere near as much testosterone as men do.  As soon as we run out of our testosterone, we rely on adrenaline to get the same kind of results.   And many women suffer from adrenal kind of burnout or it’s not burnout yet, certainly adrenal exhaustion insufficiency because trying to get a result, we run out of a testosterone which is the result getting hormone, we take on the adrenaline and we use adrenaline.  And then we run that out and we’re exhausted.   So, I think probably the biggest challenge we have is we unconsciously become very masculine in a way that we create our results in business.   So, one of the things that I’m really very passionate about is helping women to remain feminine and to use our feminine powers.   And we have so many, that we don’t use, but we use feminine sources of power inside of business to create a vision rather than an outcome.

Dana: Wow. You just described me to a tee.  [laughs]  I’m just exhausted thinking about it.  It’s so true.   Well our Rising Stars segment is just for a short period of time and I, you have such a tremendous wealth of information.   I know you’re just dying to share with everybody.   For all you listeners I want to give you all the opportunity to really find out more about Joanna and her programs, because you’ve just heard a little portion of her energy and her excitement and her passion to help you grow your business.  And really to get thatShift Lifestyle going.   So, I want to be able to give everyone a chance to find out more about you and how to join you in your programs, Joanna.   Where can we send them to sign up to maybe your website or a list that maybe you have?

DANA: Today it’s my pleasure to introduce you to someone very special to us and that is Shelley Weitenberg. Welcome to the call.

SHELLEY: Hi Dana, thanks for having me, my pleasure to be here!

DANA: It is absolutely our pleasure. Hopefully I pronounced your last name correctly.

SHELLEY: Yeah, look everyone does it differently and I’m not fussy so Weitenberg is how I say it, but that’s fine!

DANA: Weitenberg. Perfect! Okay, we’ll thank you. Okay, so if you don’t mind just for some of our listeners out there that may not be familiar with you and your business, could you just take a minute or two and share with our listeners a little bit more about you and your business?

SHELLEY: Yes, sure. Well I guess on a personal level, so that people know where I am at, I am a mum of 3, married to a wonderful husband; we’ve been married 10 years this year and our children are 1, 3 and 5 so we have very young ones and I guess what’s most unique about our personal situation is that at the moment we are travelling Australia in a bus so we don’t have a house as such that we live in but we are mobile and on the road and that creates some challenges of its own and it’s also very exciting as far as day to day life goes so a few little differences there. As far as business life; my husband and I worked together in a conventional business for the last nine years and we found that we really struggled with that work/life balance which I know that a lot of people do and in that, what we decided to do is actually leave the business and walk away to do the trip so that was quite a tipping point for us in deciding what was most important to us and that also freed me up to do what I like most which is working one-on-one with people in a coach style business so totally enjoying that and that’s where we’re at right now.

DANA: Oh my goodness, how wonderful and so three young ones underfoot too so you’re travelling around Australia and you’ve got these three little ones plus really a full time business right?

SHELLEY: Yeah, absolutely, well full-time in that yes that’s my bulk source income but it’s certainly not full time in the conventional business sense so it’s not a 40 hour week job, certainly I have a lot more time to myself and for my family.

DANA: Fantastic and it’s so nice because I know you can work the hours that you want to work.

SHELLEY: Yes, absolutely.

DANA: That makes a difference, especially when you have those little ones. You can kind of work around their schedule, their family schedule.

SHELLEY: Yes

DANA: So now you’ve been a member of Wonderful Web Women for quite some time now haven’t you?

SHELLEY: I’ve actually known of Janet for a lot, lot of years but I’ve only been a member for it will be just over a year now or around the year mark so yeah, and it’s been fabulous, the relationship that I’ve been able to build up with Janet in that time. She’s just the most supportive woman as far as online education goes and education second to none.

DANA: And the community of women I know as a whole. It’s funny, she tends to, in all of the interviews that I have been conducting, she attracts the same type of person. So you are just as wonderful and inspirational I know to others as Janet is so it’s always such a pleasure to get to interview all of you because I can really see the true person that Janet attracts and it’s always a pleasure. So because you’ve been a member now for about a year, with the Wonderful Web calls that you’ve been able to listen to and maybe in the training that you have been able to take part in, was there a particular call or anything that you listened to of Janet’s that really made a big difference in your life and in your business?

SHELLEY: Yeah definitely. A big tipping point for me is a call that Janet did late last year. She put a challenge out there and I think she called it the Passion To Profit Challenge and she did the one hour call on how to get on the phone and conduct an interview style audio and be able to record that and create a product out of it. Well I’ve never been able to create a product on my own and I didn’t even know what that looks like and the instructions that she gave on the call sounded really simple and I thought ‘well, I could do that!’ so I called a friend of mine who lives in the next suburb, not the next suburb, the next state and asked her if she would interview me and she said ‘oh well okay’ and she had never done anything like that either so I said ‘look, I’ll just email you a couple of questions to ask me and we’ll set up a time so we did that that same afternoon when I heard Janet’s call in the morning so being in a bus and being mobile, I didn’t even have a landline but I thought ‘there’s got to be a way I can do this’. Janet said Skype wasn’t so great for the recording so I got myself down to the local phone box which is just outside the caravan park that we were staying at and created my very first information product on that, in that public phone box, a little bit Superman style and yes, that was my first audio product so that was the real tipping point for me because Janet just made it seem so simple when she explained it but I thought ‘yep that’s something that I could do’ and I was able to actually go out and do it that same day in creating an audio information product of my own.

DANA: And you probably, and I did the same thing with Janet about a year ago as well and it’s just so empowering to take something that for… one, I don’t know why it was but I kind of put it off for a while; but she makes it seem so simple that once I did it, I walked through the process and it was like ‘why did I wait so long?’ It’s so absolutely amazing.

SHELLEY: Yes, she makes it seem simple but that’s because it is and that is totally one of the biggest things I’ve learned from Janet; is listening to her explain things, you think, ‘well that sounds easy’ but still sometimes we have those programs within us that says ‘well, it can’t really be that simple, surely it’s not that easy’ but if we could just get over that and just give it a go and take action on the thing then, you actually find out it really is that simple.

DANA: It is simple and yet it’s so empowering when you feel that you’ve kind of stepped outside your comfort zone to do something you’ve never done before.

SHELLEY: Oh, absolutely.

DANA: So that really leads me to I would have asked you; ‘what did you learn?’ so it obviously was able to take you to be able to create a product. Was there anything else that you learned during that process?

SHELLEY: Yeah, as you asked the question, I have to laugh because the little things that I learned like when you go to a public phone box, make sure you take a pocketful of change so that you’re not caught mid call! But definitely, one of my biggest lessons would have been that if you just take action on the things that you’re hearing, choose one thing to act on, don’t get overwhelmed by a whole range of things, just choose one and take action on that because if it turns out to be the wrong thing, it’s very easy to turn around and try something else. Because if you get overwhelmed and you have too many things to focus on at once and you actually don’t do anything and you’re not able to move in any direction so it’s not helpful at all. So just take one thing, take action on it and get some momentum in your business.

DANA: Absolutely. It’s like almost like when you get into that state of overwhelm, you just almost paralyse yourself and your business.

SHELLEY: Yeah, absolutely.

DANA: Now how have you been able to apply what you’ve learned with that particular instance to your life and in your business?

SHELLEY: Well, what I found was when I was working one-on-one with my coaching clients, I was finding the same issues come up time and time again and interestingly enough it was the same things in working one-on-one with people was, the time as I was coaching people, they were coming across the same issues that I was struggling with in my own business when I was working with my husband so a lot of women in particular were saying ‘my relationship was being swallowed by business’ or ‘the business just feels like it’s taking over and we don’t know how to nurture our relationship within the business’ so these guys were working together but really, really challenged by that juggle so what I did with the information that I learned from Janet was go round and interview really successful couples that have been able to not only build profitable businesses together,  but also nurture a fantastic strong relationship together as well. So Janet and Doug were one of the couples that I interviewed and I interviewed nine other and then I was able to produce a series out of that and create a fantastic product that was able to support couples. So that’s how I applied that specific strategy to really create something worthwhile rather than just one little, you know it was a great case to do the one little interview in the phone box but that was really just the beginning of something that has now become a really great support system.

DANA: My goodness! That really launched a whole big wide open world for you didn’t it?

SHELLEY: It sure did!

DANA: Wow that is wonderful. Now are there any other tips that you would like to share with the rest of us and our listeners as a result of being a member of Wonderful Web Women?

SHELLEY: I’d say definitely the way Janet approaches things so she’s, and it sounds cliché to say she’s ‘just herself’, she doesn’t try to be anyone else and even as it comes out of my mouth I think it’s such a cliché thing to say but it’s just the warmth that comes through in her personality when she’s doing business. You know, she attacks this in a professional way but she’s also the warm caring person that she is in a natural sense and she’s able to transfer that through all the interviews that she does, through all her client relationships. Every piece of material that comes from Janet when you read it; just in the text of every email, you can feel Janet in that text. Do you know what I mean?

DANA: Yes, absolutely. She’s transparent in her personal life as well as her business as well. She’s just the same, she doesn’t change.

SHELLEY: Absolutely. I couldn’t have said it better myself.

DANA: Yeah, well she is. I know being a Wonderful Web member myself, that’s just, that is what she brings to every one of us. You just feel like you really know her on a very personal level. So now, I know based on just the conversation that we’ve had and what you told us of the top of our Rising Star interview, you have been just a tremendous light and inspiration to so many couples and that’s so important as we have discussed even before we started the interview is that handling business in general can be difficult anyway but especially combining that as a couple and especially when you have a family, it’s the foundation of really building your family is the relationship that a husband and wife have so I know that there is a lot of our listeners that are hanging on the edge of their seat right now that would love to learn more about you and what it is that you can help them maybe achieve in their life and their business. SHELLEY: Sure, well I’ve got two websites actually. There’s also information in there about property investing and internet marketing and share trading stuff. There’s a whole range of free information that’s all available for download and you can go there any day of the week and grab as much or as little as you like but you are able to search through exactly what it is that you’re looking for. DANA: Ooh, we love that!

SHELLEY: I knew you’d get a giggle from that.

DANA: Today I’d like to introduce you to Barb Dull. Thank you so much for joining us today Barb and welcome to the call.

BARB: Hi Dana, thanks for having me, I appreciate it.

DANA: It is absolutely our pleasure and we’re so excited because you are a very special Rising Star, I know, of Janet’s and also an acquaintance and friend of mine so it’s a pleasure to get to speak with you today. If you don’t mind, please share with our listeners that may not be familiar with you yet, a little bit more about you and your business.

BARB: Well hi everybody. As Dana mentioned, my name’s Barb Dull and I have what I call my passionate business. The name of the business is Incredible Moms and I work with career minded moms who want to have a passionate career and fit it in with their family lifestyle. It’s something that I have developed over time and something that I am extremely, extremely excited about. As a single mom, I realised the value of having time to myself to spend with my daughter and so therefore I want to help other women do the same. I work with women whether they’re in a corporate environment, a small business environment or if they own their own business. I help them to reach that, what I call synchronisation, in their life between their family and their personal life. Between their family personal life and their business life. So, I’m here as a what I call a ‘Mom Mentor’ for women.

DANA: A Mom Mentor, I love that and you know I know personally from really building a business around working with women, there’s something very, very special about that bond that we share and especially being moms.

BARB: Yep, exactly. Moms have a unique way of looking at things from a business perspective as well as they have some, what I feel to have some extra talent in being able to organise and coordinate things in their lives; whether it be the soccer schedule or their children’s dentist appointment or trying to run a meeting with some board members in their organisation. You know there are so many different skills that moms have to offer and sometimes they get a little bit overwhelmed so I’m here to help them try to coordinate things and synchronize their lives.

DANA: I think we have that inborn ability to be the multi-tasker without even thinking about it.

BARB: Exactly! As a matter of fact, I’m multi-tasking now! No, I’m not, I’m focussing on the call!

DANA: Oh, but I know you are! Now, you have been a member of Wonderful Web Women for quite some time now haven’t you?

BARB: Yes I have and it’s been a great, great, great opportunity as a matter of fact I think I probably started around the same time you did in being a member and it’s definitely been something that I have found to be of extreme value; the different calls that Janet has conducted, the different guests that she’s had on, some of the challenges that she has presented. I think it’s just fabulous. It’s really made a difference from my perspective, in my business it’s helped in how I look my business and I look at other people’s businesses too.

DANA: Well I know just from both of our personal experiences; it’s part of being in that special community that Janet has. Everyone that I have met and everyone that I have interviewed for these Rising Star segments has been just so inspiring and we all have that commonality of wanting to make a difference and it all comes from the mother of the business here. The Wonderful Web Women is Janet Beckers and, you know, we’re just so thankful for her so being a member has I know been a wonderful contribution to myself, my business and those that I serve and I know that that’s done exactly the same for you.

Now, was there a particular call that you listened to of Janet’s and one of her guest speakers that made a big difference in your life and business? Any particular one you could single out?

BARB: Well, actually there’s two that are combined so I would like to talk about both of those.

DANA: Great!

BARB: Last year before Janet did her first Passion To Profits program, she did some preview calls and with those preview calls and I’m hoping I’m recollecting this correctly, she gave us an opportunity to participate in some challenges and one of the challenges had to do with putting together a video. Now I had never ….I do like to get in front of people and do things, but I was always a little bit shy as far as videos were concerned and so this is pretty much of a funny story I think; she had a challenge for us to do a video and I wanted to do it but I was going to visit my sister in St Louis and I thought ‘man when am I going to fit this in and when am I going to get up the courage up to do it?’ so while I was away, the rest of the family was downstairs, I was upstairs in my huge room and I pulled out my camera and started the video and then I started to get addicted to it! Ooh, I didn’t know if I liked it that well so I had to go to the store while I was in St Louis and I left everybody else behind and I ran to the store and I did a video in the car and then I was like ‘I don’t know if I like it that well’ so then my eight year old niece was in the car with me and I said ‘take this video for me’ and so she did the video for me! I started to get addicted to it and I honestly haven’t done as many videos as I would like but I love the concept of doing videos and that leads me into the second call that I found to be extremely helpful and that’s the one that she had not done that long ago with Pam Brossman and Pam discussed the value of video social marketing and based on the call with Pam and I’ve talked to Pam before and you and I are, you know, very well acquainted with Pam. A lot of the information that Pam had to provide really helped to reinforce the fact of how valuable video marketing is and in particular what I loved about what Pam had to suggest was doing video newsletters and so I started doing video newsletter for Incredible Moms and my Incredible Moms newsletter that I send out so I would say that those were the two calls and hopefully that wasn’t a little long winded but those were the two calls…

DANA: That was fantastic and I love you give the two because video and video marketing and getting into the social arena is becoming such a huge thing right now and it makes such an incredible impact on your business and I know from participating in Janet’s calls so often that there is always, always so much content delivered and I was on that same call you were referring to of Pam’s and there’s always a great takeaway, there is just always something that helps me grow my business and so the fact that you gave two examples was wonderful and the next thing I would have asked you was what did you learn but you really kind of, you did cover that. Now how would you say that you have been able to apply what you have learned by being a member of Wonderful Web Women to your life and your business?

BARB: Well, I would say I love Janet’s authenticity. I’ve never met Janet face-to-face but I’ve talked to her on the phone one-on-one, I have looked at her audios, her videos, I’ve listened into her calls and she’s the same person. No matter how you interact with her, she’s the same person, she’s authentic; she’s real. I just love how natural she is and that comes across like I said when you’re interacting with her in a teleseminar or one-on-one and it also comes very much across in how she presents her business to the world. She’s a true person and I’d say that the one thing that I have fully taken away is that I’ve always known that you have to be authentic but Janet really, I think, exemplifies the realness that you have to present in order to keep your customers and to bring on new customers. I just think she’s just a fabulous individual and I think not only with herself but she seems to always bring on guest speakers who are also extremely authentic and that’s what we need I believe in the business world is to be true to ourselves and to our businesses and to our customers.

DANA: Oh definitely and I would say the law of attraction really rings true for her because she has been really able to attract the same type of women and men; there’s been some great men that she’s had as guest speakers as well and they really exemplify that you have to give before you receive and Janet gives and gives and gives; she over delivers I think in everything that she does and there’s just so many great takeaways to the people she brings forward to all of us. So is there any other tips that you would like to share as a result of being a member of Wonderful Web Women?

BARB: Well, I would say one thing that really kicked me into gear as far as my business was concerned, and it was the result of Janet’s teachings and interacting with her via the teleseminars and one-on-one, I would say that taking action is probably what I’ve taken away from all of the calls and just being a member. Janet takes action and she promotes taking action and I’m all about taking action more so now than I’ve ever been. I have to admit there have been times when I have gone a little bit under the radar but it’s not because for lack of taking action, it’s basically because I’m taking action in the background, not necessarily in front of my clients or customers but she always talks about, you know, doing things and she’s always seems to be on top of her business and really focusing on her customers and getting her customers and clients and her followers to take action so I would say, yeah, taking action and just doing it. You know she’s presented so many different types of challenges where people she’s encouraged those participating in the teleseminars to take action and I think that’s what makes a really big difference is that you can listen to things but if you don’t take action, it’s not going to get you any further than what you were before you listened in on the teleseminar or even by just listening in is not going to get you any further unless you actually do something and she really promotes that, promotes that you take action.

DANA: She does and really that’s the only way we were able to move forward in our lives and businesses; really by taking action and taking what you learned and putting it into action, you know that’s how we move forward. I always say ‘ you can’t win the game when you’re sitting on the bench’ so and she definitely puts you in the game. The game and to win.

BARB: Absolutely.

DANA: Now, I know you were such a light and inspiration to so many especially, I mean to women but especially to moms and that’s near and dear to your heart and I know there are probably several of our radio show listeners that would love to get a little more information about you. So where would we send them? Where would they go to find you?

DANA: You’re not going to reveal them! You’re going to leave us hanging and we’ll wait!

BARB: Yeah. There’s some fun things, some things that will help women who are building their business or who are in a corporate world and they need tips on how to do certain things in the corporate world – I’m not going to tell you what those are but I have some great things that I’m putting together; some great programs and some neat things for moms too just some things that moms can do to make their life a little bit easier for them. So a couple of great new programs coming up in September.

Dana: In today’s segment, we’re going to be speaking with one of our very own rising stars. So today I would like to introduce you to Margit Robson. Thank you so much for joining us today.

Margit: Oh, you’re welcome Dana. It’s an absolute delight to speak with you today.

Dana: Well thank you for taking time out of your busy day. I know you’ve got a family and a business and we’re just thrilled to have you. So, if you don’t mind, please share with our listeners a little bit more about you and your business.

Margit: Yes, certainly I’d love to. A little bit about me is I’m a mum, I have teenage children, I have a busy life, I work from home, I have a home based business so I’m also that home-based entrepreneur. My husband actually has a job and I’m the one that actually is the creative one, the visionary. My business is in the personal development niche and the micro-niche is actually a little bit with regards to how to follow your intuition, how to use your spiritual intuitiveness, to put that into your business, to help you grow your business and so one of my main slogans is “When the student is ready, the teacher appears” so I just help women and entrepreneurs and home-based mums to keep having their passion and finding their passion which is their drive and their motivation to succeed.

Dana: Oh fantastic, what an incredible business. And wonderful. What an opportunity that you share with others. Now you’ve been a member of Wonderful Web Women for some time now haven’t you?

Margit: Yes I have, I actually have been member since end of 2008 and I think I’m actually now a lifetime member however that went I think with the inaugural process that we went through. And being that Gold member or lifetime member of Wonderful Web Women has just been a brilliant opportunity to connect with other like-minded women.

Dana: Now that is fantastic. So, obviously since you’ve been a part of the community for such a long period of time, you’ve obviously had a chance to really listen in and participate in some of the calls. Was there a particular call in particular that really kind of stands out to you; one of Janet’s that made a big difference in your life and in your business.

Margit: Well yes there was and it was right back towards the end of 2008, probably around about the November/December mark I think from memory and Janet gave a call to the Gold members and it was a bit like a question and answer call where she was sharing her passion and her reasons. She had a project that was called the ’52 virtues’ she was also sharing questions and answers with other women. So how she was putting her team together, how she was putting some of her business principles together. How she kept motivated and that particular call, she was very relatable to everybody that was listening in so no one could actually ever think that Janet was up on her pedestal too great to actually reach or listen to. She was very relatable and very real and very genuine and I just remember coming off that call and going to that place where it was ‘Yeah, this is what this is all about, is just keep following your passion, keep following your passion because it does unfold and it does actually happen’. So, it was a fantastic call.

Dana: That is wonderful, so that actually would have led me into my next question was well, what did you learn? So you kind of summarised that right there, anything else you’d like to add to that?

Margit: I just also learned something for the first time. Janet has a passion of being able to say to everybody that if she learns something, or if she learns or knows something or she discovers something, she’s so really transparent in sharing that with everybody that her excitement comes through. And sometimes in those early calls her excitement would come through and she was babbling along and speaking and you couldn’t just help that whatever it was that she’d discovered that she just knew was going to help everybody’s business it was coming through her voice so that was one of the things that I also learned and I started to apply it myself because I’ve had my business for 17 years and it suddenly dawned on me that everybody likes to feel that real transparency that this is, you know, what you see is what you get, what you’re listening to is what you get. There’s no mystery involved, there’s no secrecy. Janet just lays everything out the table and what you see is what you get. And it’s just, it was refreshing.

Dana: Absolutely. Yes, she is very, very transparent and everything she does, she does from her heart and it just shows.

Margit: Absolutely.

Dana: Fantastic. Now, is there any other tips that you’d like to share as a result of being a member of Wonderful Web Women?

Margit: Well, I think the number one tip that I got was from the very first start I was asked if I wanted to join a mastermind group, one of Janet’s Wonderful Web Women mastermind groups and I joined mastermind group number one.  So I was involved with the very first mastermind group and there were six of us from all over that used to dial in every fortnight and speak and we did that for close on, I think maybe be 12, 12 or 18 months, I can’t remember. 12 months or so, longer. We formed such a bond, the six of us that were in that mentoring or mastermind group, and Janet in the early days would also pop in and join us maybe once every couple of months, she’d just come in and have a listen and answer any questions, but she left it up to us and we could actually share whatever we wanted to share and I want to recommend to everybody, regardless of what type of mastermind group, the networking that you make through Wonderful Web Women is priceless. Those ladies and I still talk today, it can go months can go past but we would still Skype, we still call each other for help. It’s almost like a sisterhood was formed and that sisterhood, I know will last for a lifetime. That type of thing is priceless so I recommend that to everybody.

Dana: Oh absolutely, it’s all about surrounding yourself with success and motivated entrepreneurs as well.

Margit: Absolutely, because what you do is, as you are supporting each other, you’re listening, you’re sharing your learning things. You’re able to feel a lot more confident and in that confidence it gives you the strength to keep going in your business and take it to where you want to take it to.

Dana: Oh that is absolutely wonderful. Now, I know you’ve been a light and an inspiration to others not only through your personal life but definitely your professional life.
