Vicksburg H.S. Band performance at WOTA, April 19th 7pm

Wonderland of the Americas would like to welcome Vicksburg High School! They are coming all the way from Vicksburg, Mississippi. VHS has a tradition of excellence in band. The VHS Pride band has won many honors both in marching and concert. During concert season, VHS enjoys three concert bands. VHS band program is under the direction of Mr. Leonard Winters. Assistant band directors are Mr. Terry Steed, Mr. Cody McElwain, Mr. Jeremy Donald, and Ms Kathryn Baugher. Please join us and welcome this band on Friday, April 19th, 2013 @ 7PM. Located at the Amphitheatre. This performance is FREE to the public.

Located at Wonderland of the Americas – Lower Level

Viva Fiesta at the only official Fiesta event for people 55 years and older! This event will have live entertainment, special guest appearances, door prizes, dancing and dozens of vendors providing free promotional items and information on topics such as retirement planning and living, home improvement, health and wellness, leisure and senior services, etc.

For more than a decade, RSVP (Retired & Senior Volunteer Program) has been bringing high-quality entertainment and vendors to this senior-focused Fiesta event. This event has boasted special guest appearances including Fiesta royalty, Police Chief William McManus and the crowning of the RSVP Senior Fiesta King and Queen. This year we’ll be holding the first annual Fiesta hat contest at the event. Prizes will be awarded to first and second place winners. So get creative and come prepared to enter the Fiesta hat contest!

RSVP is a program of Catholic Charities Archdiocese of San Antonio, funded by the Corporation for National and Community Service and Catholic Charities, Archdiocese of San Antonio Inc., this nonprofit program is dedicated to providing people age 55 and older with meaningful volunteer opportunities. Those include volunteer services at the police department, hospitals, museums, senior centers, schools, emergency response teams and more. Tasks include mentoring, giving tours, writing traffic citations, greeting heroes returning from war, and much more. We are always in search of volunteers who want to help make a difference in the community. We currently have a high demand for volunteers who are willing to mentor and tutor school age children. .For information call (210) 222-0301.
