Wooddale Stephen Ministers Are Ready to Help

Stephen Ministry is a national program that equips laypeople to provide one-to-one Christian caregiving to people in our congregation and community. Twenty-eight Wooddalers participated in Stephen Ministry training this summer. They were commissioned as Stephen Ministers during the services the weekend of August 8-9.

As I look back on my life, I can see how God has always been gently guiding me and preparing my heart for missions – and more specifically, children’s ministry. As a young teen, I remember volunteering with the Wooddale VBS as a kindergarten small group leader. I had a wonderful time with the sweet little five-year-olds and I was sad to see the week end.

The path to spiritual maturity includes participating in opportunities to grow in your faith. Wooddale’s men’s ministry theme is “Get in the Game,” an encouragement for men to be proactive in connecting, learning and growing, serving, and engaging with others in outreach. This fall, men have several such opportunities in the form of men’s Bible studies and life-changing topical studies.
