As of May 03, 2009, Wooden Elephants is decreasing rates for shipping within Canada and the United States. Our last shipping rate change was in 2008. Since then our goal has been to bring Wooden Elephants items in the most cost efficient way to our customers. Shipping costs were decreased by changing from UPS Standard to Expedited Parcel Post and Priority Courier via Canada Post.

Wooden Elephants conducted a thorough analysis of rates charged by Canadian and US mail order retailers before establishing our new rates. We also surveyed our customers and found that they agreed UPS rates were too high, and that the decrease by switching to Canada Post we proposed were reasonable. We believe that Wooden Elephants continues to offer our customers the best value on quality and authentic world art.

In an effort to increase public appreciation, understanding and accessibility to the diversity of artistic expressions found around the world, Wooden Elephants has created the Showcase.

In the Showcase, we aim to feature items of superior quality or uniqueness. Here you will find a more thorough background on what is typically a theme of items such as ‘Stone Sculptures from Zimbabwe’ or the current, Rubbings from the Temples of Angkor Wat, Cambodia’.

This stunning collection of rubbings from the world famous temples of Angkor, Cambodia is bound to impress. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the temples date from the 9th to the 15th century A.D. and served as the seat of the Khmer empire. Although the temples were ultimately abandoned and the surrounding jungle engulfed them, restoration has been actively occurring for almost a century and the site is the largest draw for tourists of Cambodia.

Visit the Showcase for more information about the Rubbings from the Temples of Angkor.
