Love Is Not Optional

And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed – Romans 13:11.

The Apostle Paul was instructing the saints to love everyone. Jesus poured out His love on us, and we, in return, should pour our love toward others without having partiality.

Too many times, as Christians, we choose who we will express our love towards when we should be expressing our love towards everyone, as Jesus did for us. As Christians, we must obey the law of love, which supersedes both religious and civil law.

As Christians, we cannot condone sin in ourselves as well as others, but we don’t attack them verbally by abusing them with words or our actions. Love will draw others towards our Christian belief, whereas words of offense will cause one to hate God as well as our beliefs.

We were all once sinners, but God didn’t draw us with harsh words or harmful actions; He drew us with His love, and as children of God, we should draw others with love and compassion. We can express God’s love and His written Word through our actions and lifestyle.

God is looking for vessels that will yield themselves to His Word and His Spirit. God’s love is genuine, and if He’s residing in our being, our love will be genuine towards all of God’s creation. Love destroys hatred; love will influence a nonbeliever to open their hearts to God’s invitation of salvation.

Love forgives, and love will be committed to pray for the nonbeliever, the religious, and the hypocrite until Christ is formed in them. We don’t have the choice to hold on to unforgiveness or offenses. Jesus stated if we didn’t forgive others, neither would our sins be forgiven (And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have aught against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses – Mark 11:25-26). Many Christians are afflicted with infirmities, mental and emotional disorders, because of holding on to unforgiveness and offenses.

Either you’re going to believe God’s Word or you don’t. If you believe His Word, you need to apply His Word. Jesus fulfilled the Law; there were six hundred and thirteen commandments. Jesus commanded two commandments (And He answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself – Luke 10:27). Without love for one another, we can’t love God.

Love destroys hatred, discrimination; these things are an abomination to God. When we have genuine love for God, we will have genuine love for the Father and His Son.

Insurance Premium

Acts 4:12 – Neither is there salvation in any other name: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Salvation – Deliverance from sin and the penalties of sin; redemption.

Some of today’s Christians base their salvation on comparing their lifestyle to someone else’s rather than comparing their lifestyle to the Bible.

Some feel as though they have received salvation because they were accepted at a local church or because they attend church regularly. Some even feel they’re saved because they give tithes and offerings, and it’s the right thing to do as a Christians, but giving tithes and offerings doesn’t save us, nor does our name on a church membership give us salvation.

Jesus came to earth to save men from their sins. We can’t stop practicing sin on our own, all though we may desire to; it takes the power of God to empower us, to turn from sin. There has to be a renewing of our thinking, and that comes by hearing the Word of God and reading the Word of God. Too many Christians attend church regularly, but they don’t pick up their Bibles until the day they attend church.

It takes practice to be a true Christian, not a Sunday Christian, or Tuesday Christian, or when the weather is fair Christian. Faith comes by hearing the Word of God (Romans 10:17 – So then faith cometh (meaning frequent listening) by hearing, and hearing by the word of God). Once we hear the Word of God, we must read the Bible to get an understanding of what God requires from His people, as well as to understand our rights as Christians.

Jesus came to redeem us to the Father. We lost our original place with Him when Adam gave up his rights of dominion to Satan. There was no other name we could be redeemed or saved by but by the name of Jesus. Jesus didn’t instruct us to go to Mary in prayer, but to go to the Father, which is God (John 16:23 And in that day, ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, whatsoever you shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you).

The Bible teaches us how to pray, and Jesus was our insurance policy and premium. He paid the price to reconcile us back to the Father. An insurance policy comes with stipulations; there are dos and don’ts, and if one does not follow the policy, it can be cancelled naturally. Spiritually, if we want to be redeemed to enter into the Kingdom of God, we must abide by the stipulations.

First of all, we must realize that we are sinners in need of a Saviour (Matthew 1:21 – And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins. Secondly, we must believe that Jesus is the Son of God (John 3:18 – He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. Thirdly, we must deny ourselves to please God (Matthew 16:24 – Then said Jesus unto his disciples [then and now] If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me). Last, but not least, we must obey the Word of God; we must obey the teaching of the Word when it’s taught according to the Word of God and not by man’s opinion (James 1:22 – But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves).

If we follow the instructions in the insurance manual, which is the Bible, it will lead us to Jesus and give us knowledge of the Father and the Son. It will instruct us in how to please the Father. It will direct us in what we should and should not do as Christians. There are too many weak Christians, and it’s because they will not take the time to pray or read the Word of God. How can we obey the Word of God if we don’t know what’s in the Bible? How can we know what belongs to us as Christians if we don’t read the insurance manual?

With an insurance policy, the policyholder must pay a monthly or yearly premium in the natural. With the spiritual policyholders, we too must pay a daily premium. We should have daily communion with the Father; we commune with Him through prayer, praise, and worship as well as reading His Word on a daily basis. After we read the Word, we should purpose in our hearts to obey what we have read.

After we have purposed it in our hearts, God will enable us to fulfill the purpose. As Christians, we have to pay our premium, and it’s due daily, through prayer, communicating with the Father, following the instructions. When we don’t follow the instructions that are leading us to light we detour and begin to follow the darkness of the world’s then the wages of sin is death (For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord – Romans 6:23). Death comes in many forms other than physically, choose Jesus who will give life in every area of your life, then when its time to redeem your policy, the kingdom of God will be waiting for you.

We can’t live according to the world and receive heaven!

Fall Away

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrine of devils – 1st Timothy 4:1.

There is an increase in those who don’t believe in God than those who do believe. Those who don’t believe in God make fun of or mock sin and Christians.

Nonbelievers don’t believe there is a day of judgment. They believe they can do whatever they want to, and they don’t have to answer to anyone. The closer to Jesus’ return, the more there will be an increase of nonbelievers as well as professing Christians living carnal lives.

The world is in a state of apostasy; the word “apostasy” means a falling away from the truth, a withdrawal or defection from the truth. This fall away can be because of false prophets and teachers, temptation, worldliness, inadequate knowledge of Jesus, moral lapse, forsaking spiritual living, and worship.

While there are those in every generation who fall away, this will be a general condition before the revelation of the Antichrist. Just because there will be a fall away from truth does not mean that you or your family has to be in this condition.

Antichrist refers to anyone usurping the place of Christ or opposing Christ. The title of the AntiChrist identifies a person who emerges during the Great Tribulation to lead Satan’s strategy on the earth. When one denies or rejects the teaching of the Bible is the spirit of antichrist (He that committeth [practice ] sin is of the devil: for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose, the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil (1st John 3:8). Although the devil influences, everyone has a choice whether or not they will obey Satan or Christ.

No one is sinless, but Christians should not practice sin. Everything people are doing, the devil didn’t make them do it; they wanted to do it. Eighty percent of people don’t want to hear the doctrine of Christ because they want to do their own thing.

Many professing Christians don’t believe Jesus is returning for His church; they are going to receive a rude awakening (For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we which are alive and remain, shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord – 1st Thessalonians 4:16-17). The word remain means those who continue to live a godly and righteous life will be the ones who will go back with the Lord. Those who practice sin will not return with Jesus. Sin will not enter heaven, so those who practice sin will not be allowed in heaven.

Don’t be deceived, God is not mocked, so as man soweth so shall he reap, that’s blessings or the wrath of God. Jesus did not die so that we could continue to sin; He came to bring us out of sin and give us the ability to refrain from sin (Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you – Luke 10:19). This power was not just given to Jesus’ disciples, this power was giving to every born-again Christian.

Many professing Christians’ actions are those of non-Christians; they go where they go and do what they do, living a life of hypocrisy. Christians are to be different from non-Christians; we have been chosen (But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praise of Him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light – 1st Peter 2:9). Christians are to live holy, separated lives from non-Christians.

Because of the fall away of Christian morals, judgment will start at the house of God (For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God – 1st Peter 4:17). Christians will be judged on how they lived their lives. The Bible is instructions for Christians to live by and when they don’t, it’s called rebellion. Rebellion is that of witchcraft, and the wages of sin is spiritual death and punishment for eternity.

Read and study the Bible and apply it daily. Jesus and death are coming, and Christians need to be ready for both!
