While watching Astroboy yesterday, it just hit me that what would our futures be like where Android will grow huge. It will not be limited to phones and tablets only. Even now, there are many appliances, televisions, even cars being made to run on Android.

Just for LOL, let’s see what all can happen in Google Android 2050:

It would be called, “Milky-way“. Continuing its trend of being named after food products, in 2050 AD, the Android version would be named after our very own galaxy, which also sounds like a food.

Earthlings will get success with real androids, i.e., a synthetic organism. And adding to it, those androids will be running on Google’s very own Android OS. What say?

The little green alien-robot will turn blue. Blue is the color of future. And, Future = Android.

The real androids running on Google Android OS will have the very same “By Google” mark on their ass (on back, you see).

HTC will get into android pets. Latest models would be named WildHorse (racing breed android horses).

And finally, Samsung will still be humming the “Future Beyond” gimmick.

Blackberry recently launched its much talked about handset, the Torch. Strange name! Now we reported earlier too about this phone.

The Blackberry Torch is a mixture of slider QWERTY keypad and touchscreen phone. Major feature, it runs Blackberry 6 OS. Talking about the form factor, its unique, looks good, but couldn’t impress me when it comes to the usual Blackberry productivity thing.

Why Blackberry Torch can be a failure? Let me tell you.

I really don’t have any idea what audience Blackberry is looking to target with the Torch. Casual users, business or both? I find it lost in all fields. Blackberry never got success with its two touchscreen attempts. The Storm which failed miserably and the Storm2 which also got bad reviews.

Now just because every campany’s getting into touchscreens, doesn’t mean that Blackberry will try it too. In Torch, their so called innovation has bought a slider QWERTY in touchscreen. The touchscreen also has an on-screen keyboard, which no one will use for business mails. The available QWERTY is cramped, small, not spaced – in short, useless.

The form may look attractive but I don’t see myself holding one of these in a cafe, typing an email and still feel comfortable. #FAIL

Back to Blackberry 6 OS. If you were excited about it and that’s why wanted to buy a Torch, I’d suggest to wait sometime until Blackberry releases an OS update for the rest compatible Bold and Curve models.

A month back when Google CEO Eric Schmidt said in an interview, that Google will not going into hardware anymore and would concentrate on Android and Chrome OS development. It led to a big news that Nexus One will be the first and last cellphone from Google. But how far can that be acceptable?

I don’t believe the much talked about news. I see a Google Nexus “Two” coming soon, maybe in 2011. Why I think so? Reasons.

Eat shit, if you say Nexus One was not a success. The only phone which made possible for Android to replace iPhone from top smart phone shares was Nexus One. It was closest a cellphone can get to defeat iShit iPhone, and it almost did. Trend setter for 1GHz processors in cellphones, Nexus One still sells like cats & dogs.

Not much-needed to explain, the name itself. Nexus One. Promises itself, that a Two has to be lining up.

Remember when Google talked about a Nexus with slashed down configuration for third world countries, or similar. Still a lot to talk about it but that shows Google was working on hardware plans, unlikely what Schmidt said that they pre-planned that Nexus One would be first and the last.

I see an importance for Google to do a Nexus One, too. Why? iPhone 4. Apple was a main competition for Nexus One, and when iPhone 4 is bring all those features under an aluminium box, Google have to work on something to keep its name. And a Gingerbread itself won’t do, something to run it is also expected. Maybe a Dual Core 1 GHz Snap Dragon? Or a 2 Gigs instead?

Last week I wrote about the blogging mistakes I made. That included points on building a blog community around you. Now a reader asked me a question related to the point – that how can he rebuild that community?

Starting from bits. You stopped blogging and now you want to resume. But you see, there is no one reading your blog anymore nor is anyone sharing it. You want the community around your blog back.

You cannot re-build a lost buzz around your blog. You have to get it back. Buzz around your blog needs readers, advertisers, admirers and social savviest, commentators. Here’s some tips to drive them back and also get new ones, too.

Use the Facebook Power

Do you have a Facebook page for your blog? If you don’t, make one. And if you have one, let’s target some members to it. Usually start with inviting all your friends to join the Facebook. Use the small “Suggest To Friends” link on your page. Invite all your Facebook friends because only some of them care about checking the Invites page.

Next thing you will do is tell them that you’re alive. When you have enough members, post a message on your page. Next, send every member of your Page a message that you are resuming your blog. Add a small reason, small it must be. You can even add a bait, that depends on you.

That will create enough buzz on Facebook for you.

Why Leave Twitter Alone?

Have you been off on Twitter too for a while? If so, tell people you’re back. Track tweets, start conversions over it. Don’t shout you resumed your blog, just let it go. If your conversation is worth a reply, you have an addition to your community.

This post is about how to build your “lost” community so I won’t go in detail about traffic building from Twitter.

Blog That You’re Back

Most important thing – blog that you are back. You still have RSS subscribers. Wake them up! To add the spice, do a giveaway or a free e-book download.

E-Book is okay but a Giveaway? Yes. Anything. A software license to a Pro account of any web service like Flickr and Rapidshare. The best way to build the buzz is using the Twitter way. Make it something like “Retweet and Win” contest. That thing goes viral, brings new addition to your community as well.

What Else To Do?

There are many other small things you can do. Most of them are traffic builders but if done properly, revives your blog community.

Guest blog on your most closest online friends’ blogs. Mention you have resumed in your blog and a link.

Comment on blogs, as always the golden rule.

Converse on IM with fellow bloggers.

E-Mail bloggers you know, ask them blogging tips and how to resume. Believe me, that helps.

That would be enough. Now the only thing you have to do is keep blogging so that the buzz isn’t lost again!

I may was a pro-blogger but when I started Word Tweeting, I made several mistakes which didn’t make Word Tweeting a big success. I shorted out the four biggest blunders and sharing it with you, for you can get some brains from it.

Posting Frequency

I damned this. Word Tweeting is almost 6 months old and it has only 39 blog posts, including this one. That is around 6 blog posts every month. Is it bad? Yes, it is very bad. For a successful blog, one should post at least 20 blog posts every month. This engages the one time visitor into a returning reader. Displaying date in the post helps it too.

Not Interacting With The Blog Community

Look into most blog’s archives of 2007, and you will find my regular interaction on entries. I even endured a good reputation among fellow bloggers. But, after starting Word Tweeting, I didn’t interact with the blog community much. It must be only 5-6 comments I made to other blogs which I read in this 6 months.

Is it bad? Yes.

Interacting with the blog community helps you make an identity for yourself. Bloggers need to know you. They need to get where you blog and about what you write. Commenting on other blogs, participating in interactions on forums, Twitter, e-mails with fellow bloggers help you make a reputation. But commenting doesn’t mean spamming that blog with “Good Post” titles. You need to interact.

Not Gave My Blog The “Required” Time

You can call “studies” my excuse for this but one the big blunders I made was not giving the “required” time to my blog. That resulted in both, les posts, no interactions, etc. Remember I wrote a post back about Blog Priority? You blog don’t ask for your time to do useless things like theme tweaks, widgets switches etc. I asks you to, write, which I sadly didn’t.

Got Diverted With Niche

The biggest mistake – I flickered with my niche. Word Tweeting was started as a blog on WordPress and Social Media. But I later added Gadgets to it. After that, Advertising and Productivity. I got confused with what to write. Is that a big problem? Oh yeah!

You need to keep the tech blog reserved to tech, a money-making blog to making money and auto blog to cars & bikes. Your readers gonna run away if you start posting about cars on your tech blog. You need to be reserved to your blog niche – you may add sub categories, but they need to be related to your niche, completely.

Those were my most favorite blogging mistakes I made on Word Tweeting. Did you made any? Of course you did, share it!

Every blogger dreams to hit his blog post on to the front page of the Digg. It’s a big, big source of traffic. You get like, 2000 unique visitors least if you hit the Digg front page.

But I see it different. It is totally useless to waste your time struggling to get on the Digg front page. I see many bloggers mailing, tweeting fellows for digging their post. Believe me, it isn’t going to make any difference to your readership.

Why you should care about Digg?

It is because getting on the front page is very hard. If your blog post is not that “worth”, you won’t get more than 10-20 diggs which isn’t enough for the front page. Make it simple, don’t digg your content yourself, wait until someone really finds it worth and send it to Digg. That way, it works better. Let the content be the king.

Similar Content

Submitting content is okay, but Digg gets thousands of such stories everyday. I mean how can you expect your blog post on details of iPhone 4 launch hit the front page when there are giants like Techcrunch, Mashable etc. This way, your content needs to be very “unique”.

Digg Algorithm

Sometimes I see bloggers success in getting their submits enough digg, somewhere around a 100 but still don’t hit the front page when the front page post has only 70-80 diggs. It is because of the Digg algorithm. It can’t be cracked! If you try, you gonna get banned or die trying.

You Need Readers, Not Visitors

Let’s take it that you made it to the front page of Digg, finally! And your post got a whopping 5000 unique visitors in a day. But did that help? That traffic isn’t constant. You need returning visitors who are constant and loyal. You also need subscribers – RSS, Email, Twitter, any medium. Statistics says only 10% of the total visitors from Digg return, and 3% subscribe to your blog. Again, a fail!

You still need traffic? I suggest trying something else, like other comparatively smaller bookmarking sites. I highly recommend Blog Engage. Go ahead, experiment and gain readers, not visitors.

Samsung has yet again added a new handset to their Guru series of affordable phones. The new Guru 1175 shares the very same look of the other typical Guru phones. The phone is made with a power FM radio which can play upto 23 hours straight from a full charge battery. It also sports a torch.

A new feature is the bike mode, in which you cans set to auto-receive calls from selected contacts when you are on the go on your motorbike or bicycle. Perfect for college students and working class people who travel a lot on their two-wheelers.

Other features of the Guru 1175 are of the typical Guru series phone like 12 hours of talktime, mobile tracker, fake call, SOS messages, and support for multiple Indian local languages.

If you aren’t looking for any high end phone feature and wish to get a really worth of money phone, my recommendation is to go for Samsung Guru 1175. For a price tag of Rs.1690, its really a deal!

As we reported earlier, Blackberry has been working on this new OS, the Blackberry 6. Now BBLeaks has reported some pictures of a new Blackberry handset, assumed to be running the new Blackberry 6. The handset looks quite sleek and is a touchscreen slider.

The slider QWERTY keypad is sleek and adding to my happiness it isn’t a condensed keypad like those Blackberry Pearls. This phone is said to be the first handset running the alpha version of the Blackberry 6. I’m really looking forward to the release of this slider handset from RIM Blackberry, market probability says it will do good business if the Blackberry 6 OS stands on the expectations.
