WordPress Real Estate Plugin – WPR3x 2.9.1

It has been quite awhile since our last update and now that we’re feeling comfortable again with the level of programming now being provided that we’re pushing through with all of our previous list of new features as well as knocking out the old bug list. With this new version we’ve taken care of all of the primary issues that were plaguing us and are now looking forward to completing the remaining list of items that were on our “new features list” .

We estimate that we have about a weeks worth of minor tweaks to do – (like adding a gui for our new mortgage calculators and tweaking our admin panel and templates etc.) Once all of our list is done and any other feedback items are addressed – then we will pick back up on our New MAPS Module. Our current programmer also has a very strong background in Real Estate CRM code development and is already laying out foundation ideas for our CRM module – (we’ve spent hrs chatting about CRM features list already).

Developers update:
1). We have just completed more listing image configurations as well as our speeding up the search results and listing details template display, but we’ve also cleaned up several code items that were calling the db multiple times where those calls were not actually needed.

2). We are currently working on modifying the MySiteMyWay.com themes (gnu/gpl) core foundation to allow you to fully export your own serialized data so that you can then create your own branded theme with all of your own default content and widget settings to match your own branding – so that way when your clients hit the “Restore” button it will restore it back to your branded default settings instead of theirs.

Most FAQ –
Q – When are you guys going to deliver on the Maps Module?
A – We had to temporarily put that on the hold until all of the above items were resolved and now that those items have been resolved then we will pick back up where we left off (which is already at the 60% completed mark). ETA = ASAP – in other words we are working on it right now and will release as soon as we can get a Beta-Version put together.

2.9.1 Change log:
Below is a list of items we’ve fixed or added.
If you have seen anything that isn’t already listed below then please let me know.

Various listing image options and previous listing image path options have all been fixed.

Fixing the Search Form Builder to include the word “Any” as the default first field.

Added code to our Search Form Builder to strip out any blank unfilled fields from the query and the url string.

Fixed the Search Form Builder Class ID/Name bug so now it works as “list” as well as multi-select etc. now.

Fixed Shortcode Pagination and cleaned up the shortcode gui.

Fixed our custom form builder to now allow the parsing of {listing field tags} in the contact forms that are displayed on the listing details pages.

Finally – The newest WPR3x 2.8.9 release is finally ready!

This version probably needed to “mature” a little more before releasing it – but – I have so many of you out there that need this version I’ve decided to pre-release it early so that you guys can help with testing and feedback.

As always – just login and download from your client “My Services” area.

NOTE* This version is NOT a patch release and should NOT be just dropped into your current site without a 100% backup of “Everything” including your db etc – You’ve Been Warned!

Here is how (I) typically do client upgrades – (so it should work for you as well (MU excluded)).

First – I make a backup! ….Of everything!

Then I open up 3 separate browser windows.

Plugins window so I can deactivate/reactivate the WPR3x plugin.

WPRETS section 1 (showing credentials).

WPR/Site-Config/ (in the admin nav that shows all the tabs for Template, Numbers, Maps, Listing Photo Settings etc.).

Next thing I do is open up the Mysql DB and delete the following tables:

wp_realty_controlpanel

wp_realty_listingsimages (if you’re manually downloading images then leave this alone)

wp_realty_agents

wp_realty_agentfields

wp_realty_offices

wp_realty_officefields

Next I deactivate the plugin from the plugin browser window already opened.

Then FTP in and overwrite all of the files in the plugins/wp-realty/.

Next I re-activate the plugin from the plugin browser window already opened.

Next I click on the SAVE button on the WPRETS section 1 (showing credentials).

Next I click on the SAVE button on the Site Config browser window already opened. (This may throw an error – just ignore it and refresh the page and it will be fine.)

So – if you do everything as I described above then you should be completely upgraded with all of the new database changes and new features.

If you have any major issues – simply reinstall your back up and open a trouble ticket and we will assist you with this upgrade.

==============================================================================================

I’ll have to make several new videos this weekend – but for now I am going to release this for those that have to have the new features.

With this release we have finally taken care of several remaining (core) items that were on the list and required to make this closer to a 100% Do-All solution.

Change Log:

Added ability to insert image urls from the RETS meta/media to replace having to download images.

Added ability to map Office/Agents from RETS Office/Agent class right into our Office/Agent tables.

Added ability to now join/associate office/agent with listings in search results and listing details templates.

Added ability to now search via date range and arrays with comma separated values.

Fixed ability to Cache Images and added missing cache directory.

In step 3 of the RETS module we’ve added ability to insert custom query strings into new text box window.

Added in new conditional into template to show agents info when matched criteria.

Several mysql modifications as well as changes to the installer script.

Several other minor items including fixing our broken search form and maps tabs etc.

We are aware of the following items “Not-Fixed” but scheduled for the first of the weeks file patch release.

Still Not-Fixed:

Shortcode Pagination.

Agent editor to include “Locked” option to prevent cron overwrite (this is also a new feature so its not a bug).

These items will be addressed with the next bug fix cleanup – including – adding in “Any” as default in the top of our search form builder field results etc.

See you in the forums!

WPR3x RC v2.4 has just been released and available for download.

Change log:
1. Added “Street View” to the map display.
2. Added longitude/latitude settings for maps configuration.
6. Fixed several path issues.
7. Fixed WP RETS dump data bug in a cron section.
8. Added in more CSS tweaks.
9. Fixed a bug for when unregistered users would try to save favorites or searches.
10. Added error reporting to the RETS cron emails and print screens shown in browser.
11. Fixed multiple drop down selects to now display all values alphabetically.
12. Fixed php bug when adding php into our templates.

What’s Next:
1. Adding default search form template to include tabbed layout for each class.
2. Overhauling search form builder to allow values to be applied to each tabbed class type.
3. Modifying WP RETS database to associate agents and office IDs with listings.
4. Google Map Search Module “beta version” to be released in mid April.

I think that once the search form builder has been overhauled to allow for a nice tabbed layout based on class names, similar to what you see in some of our portfolio sites, we’ll finally be able to call the core project “done”. Our plan over the next week is to also finalize the remaining additional core features that will include items such as print flyer as PDF, compare properties, forcing registration options, listing alerts via email etc.

Final note:
We hope to be releasing screenshots of the new Google maps search within the next two weeks and the beta release within the next 30 days.

WPR3x RC v1.0 – 3.0 has just been released and is available for download.

We have upgraded the “Beta” version now to “RC” (release candidate).
What this means is that we are very near something that we consider being “stable” enough to be released as a “project ready” version.

With this latest release we have fixed a several bugs that were related to the new file path structure that we implemented in the previous release. In addition to that we have included some enhancements and features that were requested by the current developer licensed clients (and we appreciate all of the feedback).

Also as of this release any following updates will be done with simple update patch files so that you only need to download and overwrite a small handful of files.

How-To-Upgrade:
First of all make a backup of both your files and your db.
It is recommended that you do a complete delete/install if at all possible to make sure that you are using 100% of the new code only.
Otherwise – as in the last release I would only copy out the RETS portions and re apply the listings portion of the db and the cached /wprets/template_c/

Please download and give this one a try – and then report your bugs (if any) to the forums.

What’s Next:

This week we are going to finalize a couple of tweaks to the RETS module to be able to work with RETS servers that include listing photos “urls” such as in CARETS (California) and a couple of others default listing templates for search results and listing details so that there are at least 2 choices to start with. In addition to that we are thoroughly going to go through the code looking for Developer options needed for enhancing the templates by providing “conditionals” with snippet examples.

Final Note:
Our programmers are already working on the “Google Maps Search Module” so look for that modules beta release before the end of the month as well as some additional default features that were already on the list.

Everyone keeps asking me about our CRM and is it going to be able to do “this or that” and is it as good as “so-in-so’s”. Well the short answer is this – I’ve already built the only WordPress SugarCRM …

Everyone keeps asking me about our CRM and is it going to be able to do “this or that” and is it as good as “so-in-so’s”. Well the short answer is this – I’ve already built the only WordPress SugarCRM Form Builder integration that has a full blown lead router with time limits options, and even includes listing field values for filters for routing leads to the right agents etc. So for more info about what all comes with SugarCRM you just need to visit their site – 0h and they hide the fact that they offer a free version but they do.

So – I’d have to say that SugarCRM is what I’d consider the ultimate FREE CRM and I plan on integrating my SugarCRM Form Builder to hook into the new WPR3x as soon as we get to that later in March. In the mean time, if you’re interested in learning more about that project, here is the link to read more and watch that video http://sugar.crmformbuilder.com/sugarcrm-for-wordpress/.

Note – Please don’t ask us about the SugarCRM though until we have fully integrated it later in March. That’s when we’ll make the announcement that it has be officially tied in to work with the new WPR3x version.

Now – for the long answer:
Our intentions are to build out our very own New CRM with only the things that the average Realtor needs (SugarCRM is overkill for most Realtors). We plan on taking the best ideas from all of our previous projects and producing a really powerful CRM that will do more and include more features than any of our main 3 competitors. These types of complex projects are very time consuming and cost a fortune to build, especially if you’re going to do it right and try to incorporate everyone’s needs and desires. So once we’ve completed our Map Search Module then you can expect to see us put together a nice list of options that will be included into our new CRM module – and the best part is that you will be allowed to also partake in the features request as it’s being developed.

Just a quick update to let everyone know that the latest version is in my hands and being tested right now for proper install.

Once I’m done and satisfied that everything is installing properly then I will release this for download and immediately begin on the remaining “default templates” tweaks and the styling of all remaining css issues.

This is hopefully the last of the “beta versions” and we can begin on the RC v1.0 (release candidate).

This will change a few things but mostly this fixes several items needing to be fixed prior to the RC (release candidate) – So once we give this beta another round of testing we will fix any remaining bugs and then I’m aiming for RC v1.0 by Tue/Wed. With any luck we should be at stable release by the end of the week

Change log is going to be long this time:

Added styling to next/prev buttons for the search results template.

Added next/prev to our shortcode generator and fixed all known bugs with it.

Fixed parsing of the quick search and featured listings located inside of “text widgets” they were displaying the results (inside the widget).

Fixed the listing field zone tags inside the listing details template to include the caption but to also not display any field captions when there isn’t a “value” for the field.

Added in the brand new modules and templates manager w/file editor included –ftp is no longer a requirement.

Fixed cache issue in RETS from previous release.

Fixed Subdomain and Subdirectory install issues.

Added Search form builder style elements to control the forms elements and default left/right <div> css settings.

Fixed the Search Form cutting off the field values – now display them all.

Added Search Form to now generate dynamic ID’s for each field for custom css options for developers.

Renamed all misspellings throughout the code – thus the add to Favourite mysql table is now changed to “Favorite” in the front side as well as in the table name itself.

SEO settings appear to have been fixed now to enforce our seo settings to over ride 3rd party settings for our details page.

Completely change the installer extraction method and directory paths.

Fixed security issue to prevent cross script injection.

Fixed Lead Capture/Contact Form Builder “css generator” – was not working.

These are all of the main things that were done and there are many other sub/minor tweaks that have been done as well but not really worth listing them all.

I will be posting this version as soon as I’m finished running these last few test……hopefully by mid afternoon Monday.

We have got the SVN setup and now all of us are working on it at the same time to get these final tweaks applied without overwriting each others code – Yea!

We are getting very close to finishing up enough of the remaining bugs to make another beta release (24-48 hrs) and then we will probably be ready to go forward with the next step and that will be RC v.1 (RC target date – Monday -27)

Everyone has agreed to work through the weekend to get this to a RC (release candidate) version by Monday.

Please note – I have also made the WPR3x Forums viewable to the public so they can see what’s going on – they just can’t post in there unless they are a Developer.

Also – please note – I am working online 14+ hrs a day so if you login to the client area and see my live chat is on and have a question just ask me on the live chat and I will try to assist you anyway I can until the documentation is posted.

Best regards,
Chad Broussard
