Generally speaking, when a writer is first offered work, they will be offered a small brief.  For articles, the minimum we offer is 10 articles in a month but this could be all on one subject or 5 on one and 5 on another, it depends on what we have in at the time.

Providing a writer stays on track throughout the month, or preferably stays ahead, always submits unique work (we copy check our copywriting work to ensure it is not duplicated from elsewhere) and their writing is good then they will be offered regular work.

Regular work can mean different subjects each month for various clients or the same each month, again, it depends on what we have in.

The first article on any brief, especially for new writers, is always checked to ensure the writer has understood the brief and followed instructions.  Feedback is given and we give the writer chance to improve.

Our top writers work almost full time for us earning around £1500 per month however, this takes a long time as we have to build mutual respect - the writer is placing faith in us that we will continue to provide work and we place faith in the writer that they won’t let us down.

We also have writers who are happy earning just a little extra pocket money each month - £30, £50 or £100 a month is plenty for some who just want to work in and around their other commitments and put the money towards a meal out, a trip to the theatre or save for something special, or perhaps just take the pressure off one or two bills.

How much you can earn depends largely upon you.

You don’t need to be ultra-techie or know the detailed ins and outs of servers and hosting, but no doubt it would help if you have some interest in the subject.

We have one or two assignments this month on the topics of plumbing, and specifically pipe fittings/flanges, and web design.  Ideally, the writer should have some previous knowledge or work experience in these areas.

Nobody on the waiting list has specifically mentioned either topic so if you are on the waiting list and interested, please email info(at)wordsofworth.co.uk (replacing the (at) with @) with your background.  Sometimes the response to these posts is overwhelming, so if you do not receive a reply, please don’t be offended.

For those writers already on the waiting list, don’t worry if you didn’t select a newly available subject as we do already have your details and unless there’s someone else perfect for the topic we would offer it to you anyway.

However, we have a need for some writers able to write adult content.  We don’t really want to be emailing people on the waiting list to offer this sort of stuff, so if anyone really wants to write this sort of assignment, please email us at info(at)wordsofworth.co.uk replacing the (at) with @.

Please note: if you do email and we don’t reply, this will be because the assignment(s) have already been sent out.  The last subject appeal we posted received so many replies, and many of them days too late, that we struggled to personally reply to them all so please don’t be offended if we don’t reply to you.  Your interest will be noted on the waiting list.

To date, when people have applied as writers, we’ve given them a sample brief to write a short article.  However, sales copy is a bit different and so we are now splitting our waiting list in two and changing how we recruit.

For those who aren’t sure, sales copy is writing the content that will actually be published on the client’s pages rather than an article to be distributed or published in a News/Blog section on the site.  Therefore, you have to write using ‘we’ and ‘our’ for the client and sometimes describe their services as well as writing about general industry information.  Word count is usually between 500 and 1000 words rather than short articles of 250 words.

If you are already on the waiting list, we will assume you are happy to accept sales copy.  If this isn’t the case, you can email info(at)wordsofworth.co.uk replacing (at) with @ and we can remove you.

Those who haven’t yet applied, you’ll find you now receive two sample assignments when you apply, one for articles and one of sales copy so we can see how versatile you are and if you’re able to do both.

They range from ontology, beds, bathrooms, fibreglass roofing, lofts, car hire, car leasing, payroll and others.

With Words of Worth you can do the writing anytime, anywhere (so long as you have a computer). So if you want go away for a week in Spain, you can do that without losing any money. You just write the articles before you go. If you want Friday nights to yourself, no problem. You can write the articles whenever you want, you’re tied down to time frames where you have to do the work.

The only stipulation is that you’re ahead with the writing. A typical contract is 80 articles per month, which works out at between 2 and 3 articles per day.
