On March 4th 2010 to March FORTH to your nearest jail, prison, youth
detention centers and holding facility in your own city to demand an immediate change in
policy from the corporate prison systems. Our intention is to turn the courtyards of these facilities into an open mic venue where your voice will be heard! Bring your freedom poetry and songs.
We will not tolerate modern day slavery!!!

Let's Proclaim 2010 "The Year of Our Youth"

In proclaiming 2010 "The Year of Our Youth", I hope {you} will be a part of planning, promoting and participating in our upcoming Harlem TEEN Hall Meeting.

This and future TEEN Hall Meetings are vital to ensuring the mission and success of The 1st National Black TEEN Empowerment Expo Presents FAME: Fashion, Art, Music & Education, scheduled for New York City, in August 2010.

TEEN Hall Meetings will accomplish the following goals:

· Provide a forum for our TEENS to tell us what they're going through, and so they know we're here to help them get through it.
· Serve as a platform to engage youth, support parents and schools, and "activate" our community of caring citizens.
· Connect youth service providers to one another and directly to our TEENS so we can collaborate towards more positive outcomes for more TEENS.
· Bring a panel of youth resources to our TEEN community.
· Create awareness about The National Black TEEN Empowerment Expo Presents FAME: Fashion, Art, Music & Education, and the Youth Empowerment Series (YES) and NBTEE's coalition-, community- and youth-building initiatives.
· Introduce FAME / TEEN IDOL, entrepreneurial initiatives and other youth-based programs.

Each TEEN Hall Meeting will be filmed to document our progress and promote this model to and for other youth and communities. These events can (and should) be duplicated in other parts of the country as a viable community-, coalition- and youth building initiative.

TEEN Hall Meetings will be held in every New York City borough between January and June in our efforts to communicate and connect to as many youth as we can, and connect our youth to as many resources as we can.

Your input is valued as we continue to build this event model. We host local (NYC) planning meetings every Wednesday at 7:PM, and welcome your participation in the process and progress of building better communities and brighter futures for our children.

Based on what too many of our TEENS aren't getting in school and life, each of you should consider yourself a valuable resource in helping more TEENS believe and succeed. So if you're not in New York City, please share information about our efforts with individuals and groups in NYC (see attached NBTEE overview) and Detroit (see www.betterdetroityouth.org). You can also support our efforts by supporting UniTee Design's programs and products (see www.uniteedesign.com).
