Happy Tuesday Evening!

As most of you now know by now, I am now also a new Independent Longaberger Home Consultant in addition to being an Independent Avon Rep. So, I just wanted to share with you some Longaberger News. They want us to try and concentrate on the October specials this week. So with that being said, if anyone would like to place a order for October or you know someone who would, please let me know. October is Tree Trimmer month for those of you that collect it, would like to start or know anyone who does. Affiliate Marketers make their money by selling other people's products or services. These affiliate programs allow them to earn commissions based on the sales generated through the affiliate marketer's special link. In some cases, they can earn money by getting people to sign-up to a special list or offer that the affiliate company provides.

These programs can be good income generators, provided you put in the work necessary to make your commissions. There are numerous affiliate marketing opportunities out there for anyone to choose from and each one offers differing monetary rewards for the commissions. The problem is, that not all of those opportunities are legitimate ones. Yes, the annoying scammers have gotten to this part of the internet too.
So, as an aspiring Affiliate Marketer, what can you do to avoid falling into one of these Affiliate Marketing traps? Here are some things to look for when deciding on one of those opportunities:

Website

Take a thorough look at the website of the product, that you're considering taking on in your affiliate marketing business. The website should contain a decent amount of information about the product you would be taking on. It should also provide good information on the affiliate program that they are offering. Make sure that the site has contact information in case you need to ask questions or get support.

Any website, offering affiliate programs, that have no contact information is not worth your time. If you can't get a hold of them when you need to, how can you be sure you'll get the money due to you. Also, if the site has more information on how much money you could make from their program and less on what the product is and does; then it's not likely the program is legit.

Research
As with anything on the internet, you should be doing your research to determine if the program is on the up and up. Look to see if anyone else might have used that program and find out what their experience was. Also, look for information about the company, if any is available, to see if they seem legit.

Don't Pay

Legitimate programs will not charge you to sign-up with them to sell their products. There are some cases where you may be paying for other items, like their magazines, special software or some other type of service. But, as far as signing up to simply market and sell their items, there shouldn't be any charge for you.

Affiliate Marketing is a legitimate business opportunity. You'll just have to sort through a lot of programs to make sure you're signing up for one that won't scam you. Take your time and thoroughly research the programs that interest you and you should be able to avoid some scams that could cost you a lot of money in the long run.

Looking for ways to establish your blogs, bring in more traffic and gain loyal followers or earn money. Take it from me, an amateur not long ago, these are tips and suggestions I have learned and applied. And since applying the below suggestions, I have increased my blog presence in just the past few months.

AdSense - Whether it be placement of google ads, search boxes or the like.
Product Reviews - Review products to help attract sponsors and in the process you not only help out the company, but you received free products as well.
Giveaways - This is something I hear a great deal about, but have yet to to apply this one, but I am contemplating this one too, as it brings in a high traffic volume to your blog.
Ads - Sell space for ads.
Affiliates - Earn money from affiliate marketing by placing ads such as amazon.com ads on your blog. For every item sold through your blog ad, you are paid a small percentage of the profit.
Follow/Followers - Follow other blogs, get to know them. Because follow and be followed. It's called networking. Same goes for commenting.
Vlogs - Make a vlog, they are more personable, they help you to connect with your audience and help promote your blog.
Social Networking Sites (ie Facebook and Twitter) Help to promote and gain loyal followers, as well as attract sponsors. Basically, social networking is free advertisement.

Before a few short months ago, I had no followers, no comments, no re tweets and my AdSense balance was around .50 a month. Now my AdSense monthly balance has more than tripled to earning somewhere in the neighborhood of about 2.50 and more a month now. And again, this has taken place just within the last few months, so imagine what it could be this time next year if I continue to learn and grow my blogs. The sky could be the limit for me, and it could be for you too!

5 Traits Needed to Blog at Home

Creativity - You have to come up with ideas and usually on a rather frequent basis, so creativity is a must have. You need to keep your posts fresh and frequent.
Motivation - You must have motivation because when you are at home there can be many distractions such as the kids, your spouse, visits from family and etc.
Determination - You will need to be determined in being creative and keeping your motivation to continue to come up with ideas and playing those out.
Organization - A must have! You need to be well organized in your creativity. Keep your thoughts and ideas down on paper. Keep your blog(s) organized as to which one to post on next and what to post.
Confidence - Is a must have above all else. If you don't have the confidence in yourself then you certainly won't be successful in writing and maintaing a blog that other's will believe in.

WAH: Need a place to start?

Want to work from home, but not sure where to start? Need some ideas? Well good news! I have listed some great places to start! The websites I have listed below are all legitimate businesses and great places to start. And, I have either researched or directly heard of these businesses. I am currently a personal affiliate with Monet Minerals and Country Charms Scents and I also work part-time as a *Promotional Event Specialist. These opportunities work great for me. You just need to find the right opportunity that works for you.

In the past, I have also done work as a Virtual Assistant and was an Avon Representative, Beauti Control Cosmetics Consultant and Teaporia Consultant as well. What am I getting at? The simple fact that it is not as difficult as you might think and I am here to say, "you can do it too"! It just takes a little time, patience and effort to get started and establish yourself. These work great whether you are looking for a part-time opportunity, full-time or even if you are just looking for a hobby or a little extra spending money. There are tons of options out there it's only a matter of finding them. But I'm making it easy for you by giving you someplace to start! A headstart if you will. Not just WAHMS, but WAHHS as well

Work-at-Home-Moms or as you likely know them WAHMS are the top well known types of people who work from home, however there are more than just WAHMS out there. There are simply just the WAH (work-at-home) people, also SAHMS (stay-at-home-moms), CSAHM (christian-stay-at-home-moms and CWAHM (christian-work-at-home-moms), but what I'm getting at is those of us who work at home who are not home just because were mommies. We may be WAH (working-at-home) simply because we choose to or perhaps because we have to for other reasons besides being a mommy, such as being disabled. What ever the case, everywhere I looked, everywhere I turned WAHMS, moms and more moms, along with a great deal of mommy talk and such. And that's perfectly fine, great as a matter of fact, but I am just simply a WAHH (work-at-home-housewife). No mommy that needs to work from home. Although I do have a son, he is very much a grown man and living on his own. And in addition, I have two young step-children, however they live with their mother full-time, except for visitation with their dad, so again, no mommy here, I'm just simply a woman, as well as a housewife who works-from-home part-time.

In my searches for WAH information, the only website I came across that was similar was WAHW (work-at-home-women), but still most sites seemed to be highly geared towards WAHMS, so I decided to create WAHH for those of us who are not mommies, but simply WAH. Being a woman, who was also a housewife, but not a mommy, I felt we needed our own category and place to go to that was related, but without all the "mommy talk" so-to-speak. Hence the birth of my blogspot Work-at-Home-Housewives. You will find much the same information here with the exception that WAHH is not driven by the "mommy" factor.

But still, when it comes to the top legitimate, informative WAH sites, I would go with WAHM.com They have tons of great information, tips, articles, ideas, job postings, etc., and in addition have been around for quite some time now. And when looking for a legitmate WAH job, WAHM.com is the first website I visit. You can just go to their website, WAHM.com click on WAH jobs and simply plug your information into their search box to find WAH jobs near you.

Looking not necessarily to work-from-home, but rather work on-your-own? Then working as an independent contractor might be a great place to start. There are many independent opportunites out there in areas such as sales and travel, but one in particular is at the top of my list and works great for me. You can choose to work part-time, sporadically to make extra income or even full-time. Working as an independent contractor you can accept as many jobs as you like or as little as you like. It's totally up to you as to how many jobs you complete, allowing you to work a full-time schedule or only work on occasion to bring in extra income. Many work at home job seekers are on a mission today, especially due to the critical, economic conditions of today's society. It's unfortunate that a significant number of individuals have lost their brick and mortar jobs and are in desperate need of some income. Some of these job seekers are steadily searching for their ideal job online.

Sadly, I see people everyday go about searching for a home job the wrong way. Basically, they simply don't know WHERE to search and end up looking in the wrong places. Well of course, this puts them more at risk of getting scammed. Also...they go about searching with the wrong attitude or they are searching for only one type of job and are set on finding that specific job and nothing else. One needs to realize...there are various work at home options available.

I have put together some helpful do's and don'ts when searching for an online job. Take your time in reading through them.

Do take the time to create a professional, well-written resume, including a cover letter. A legitimate company will require this from you. You will need to proportion your resume for the specific job you are searching for.

Do visit work at home blogs. Blogs have become progressively popular and a lot of them list job leads regularly.

Do tell all your friends to spread the word that you are searching for a job online. These friends will tell their friends and so on.

Do your own research on the companies that you would like to apply. It's so easy these days to fall for all the scams that clutter the Internet.

Now for the Don'ts

Don't approach your work at home search with a bad attitude and think that all job opportunities are scams. There are legitimate positions to be found.

Don't set your mind on just one type of job. Be open-minded and explore all your options, according to your skill sets.

Don't apply for a job online before researching the company first to check for scams.

Don't be afraid to ask for assistance with your search. Forums are excellent for asking questions. Create a career-networking relationship with the members of the forum.

Don't let the poor economic conditions of society stop you from consistently applying for jobs.

Don't quit your brick and mortar job before securing a work at home position that matches your income.

Stay At Home Moms – How to Earn Money From Home Without Sales

One of the most frequently asked questions I see is, “How can I earn money from home without selling?”

When I ask exactly what it is that the person doesn’t want to do, the answer is almost always the same. I’m told, “I don’t want to bother my family and friends.”

Think of a local restaurant you enjoy. Do you think the owner bothered their family and friends to build the business?

Next, think of a local real estate office in town. Do you believe the realtors in those offices bothered their family and friends to build their businesses?

Finally, think of a boutique or small independently owned retail business in your town. Again ask yourself, do you believe the store owner/s bothered family and friends to build their business?

If you have looked into working at home and you’ve found the many direct sales opportunities available out there, have you ever asked, “How would I market this?” If you’re told that you’ll make a list of family and friends, I say move on. Thank the person for their time and move on.

There are several problems with making a list of family and friends:

1. These are not people who have expressed an interest in what you’d be offering.
2. There is a risk of damaged relationships from you asking and from them saying no.
3. Once you’ve gone through your family and friends, then what?

The only positive of trying to sell to family and friends is that you already know the person and you’re not speaking with a stranger.

If you still don’t want to get involved in sales, then it’s time to polish up your resume and begin looking for a telecommute position.

These positions do exist, but they are rare and they are given to those who are completely qualified for the position offered.

One of the most frequently asked questions by the employer is, “Why do you want to work at home?” Remember, the employer is considering paying you a wage. The employer does not want to know that you have children at home, a sick relative you care for etc. They want to know that you will be working for the money they are going to be offering you. Have your answer well prepared before the interview.

Answering phones for call centers is one of the most popular telecommute positions. They require a separate phone line and absolute silence: no children and no pets. If you are ever caught with children or pets in the background you’ll lose your job.

Whether you choose sales or find an employer willing to allow you to work at home, don’t say yes until you’ve done enough research to know that a yes answer is the right answer for you.
