Work At Home Jobs Belgium

CallGraph is Now Scribie.com

2011-03-14T00:26:00.000-07:00

CallGraph has recently changed its domain name to Scribie. In addition, transcribers/reviewers are advised to use Goggle Chrome or Mozilla Firefox which are fully supported browsers. If you use Internet Explorer, some of the features might not work.

This week seems to be a good one to transcribe files. There are plenty of transcription assignments. If you are a reviewer, you will get the same number of files to be reviewed.

Frontline Focus International: Where Are the Assignments?

2011-03-13T16:01:00.000-07:00

Ooh, the training materials for this company are also extensive. You even get pictures of the food that you will be evaluating. You will use these pics to see if what you ordered looks as similar as possible to what it should be. KFC and Pizza Hut have very detailed instructions on how the assignments will be conducted. Frankly, I failed the test and certification for Pizza Hut because I was too lazy to read everything and guessed the answers to the lengthy test questionnaire. Big mistake!

I should have taken my time to read the training materials and keep a copy of the materials for reference while doing the test. On the other hand, even if you get the certification, the job board does not have a lot of assignments on it. However, the coordinator for Belgium is really helpful and will even book assignments for you if you want to do an MS. At the back of my mind, there is always a nagging question. Will I ever get an assignment from this company since there is nothing showing up on the job board? Do I have to ask or request for a MS booking? So far, all March visits are booked and there are few places available for April (nowhere to be seen of course on the job board). It's either there are not a lot of job offers or they are all taken by other shoppers.

Helion Research Opportunities: Are They For Me?

2011-03-13T15:41:00.000-07:00

I saw about 25 jobs which fit my profile on the Helion website today. In accepting mystery assignments, I have developed my own set of criteria. The assignment has to be interesting in the sense that I am an ordinary shopper and my identity is not revealed. I prefer less interaction with the sales assistant because I feel that paying attention to the details in the store and observing how other clients are served would be the best approach to see if the store staff knows their stuff and craft. Of course, most of the jobs at Helion require you to interact with a sales rep. There are also some audit jobs for Adidas in the pipeline which are interesting. However, the locations are not. This brings me to my second criterion in choosing an assignment. I will only apply for jobs within the vicinity of the area I am living - 5 to 10 kms. maximum. There is no point in spending gas money on places which are far where the compensation would not be enough to buy fuel. My third criterion is the language of the questionnaire. I am more interested in getting assignments where the questionnaire has to be filled in English. This way, I can express my thoughts, experiences and recommendation effectively and efficiently since I do not want to grope my way around for words or checking the syntax of my sentences,

Mystery Shopping Assignments for BARE International

2011-03-13T15:24:00.000-07:00

Bare has at the moment posted interesting assignments in the transport and telecommunications sector. Some assignments are on self-assign basis provided you hold a rating of 7 or better. If you are interested check out the BARE job board and get you feet wet with mystery shopping.

I have done 3 assignments for this company and I am adopting a wait and see attitude to see if my completed evaluations will be paid as it still shows a pending payment status. I am testing the waters so to speak and I am waiting for the reply from admin/finance section to see if the payments are scheduled or are in the queue.

In the meantime, I regularly check the job board to see if there are interesting assignments. There is still 1 Thalys assignment available but I cannot take this because it requires a return trip to Amsterdam. The pay is reasonable but I might not be able to do this in a day. I will end up paying more for accommodation than what I would get as shopper fees.

There are other ones that I saw which were not too complicated such as the PUMA assignment (I missed this one) and the Allo work. The only problem is I don't want to fill the questionnaire in French as I am bad in written French although one of these days, I will probably try it out of curiosity to see what grade I will be receiving for my level of written French.

BARE, when are you posting an assignment for Pearson? I wanted to do this before but I had committed myself to doing other MS in another area. Pity, I would have loved to do this one.

Legitimate Work at Home Jobs in Belgium

2011-03-10T05:49:00.001-08:00

I am starting this blog because I do not see specific resources meant for work at home Moms or Dads in Belgium. A few years back, I began my search for anything that I can do online while taking care of my kids and family but I have not come across a tailor made list for residents in Belgium which pointed me to the right direction. I scoured the web for various resources and tried the majority of them and here’s what I found out. Whether you are gainfully employed, out of work or a stay at home parent, there are some legitimate jobs out there which you can do from the comfort of your home. You will need to have an internet connection, a laptop and in some cases, a scanner, printer and a digital camera for special work or assignments.

All of these sites accept workers or participants from Belgium so it should not be too hard to sign up and try to do these during your spare time. You will not get rich as you probably have read over and over but nowadays, any extra cash always helps.

I have listed some sites below which you can look into for supplementary income at best or at worse, some pocket change. I will discuss each site briefly on separate pages including feedback (where applicable) with these sites or companies.

Revenue Sharing Writing Sites

What is revenue sharing? You get a percentage of ad revenues displayed alongside your articles. If your article is popular and gets a lot of page views, your earnings will be higher and again depends on the site’s calculation of percentage. It can be $ 0.1 per view or $ 1 per 1000 views and so on. The main advantage of these types of sites is that your articles will earn for as long as they are published and viewed on the web. Some recommended sites are: Suite 101, Triond and InfoBarrel.

Upfront Payment Writing Sites

There are also writing sites which will give you upfront payments for each article that you submit. The biggest drawback to this type of writing is that you lose exclusive rights to your article. Bright Hub and London Brokers are 2 sites which accept writers from Belgium. For the latter, you have to be a native English speaker (“no exceptions”).

Paid to Review Sites

You get paid to write product reviews by giving your opinion on products or services that you have used. ReviewStream and Epinions are some of sites where you can submit product reviews.

Other Sites

You post you articles on Constant Content and Daily Articles and wait that a buyer purchases your articles. The advantage of being in these sites is that you set the price for the articles that you are selling.

Mystery Shopping

If you like shopping and would like to get paid while doing it, mystery shopping is the answer. Mystery shopping companies which operate in Belgium include GapBuster, AQ Services, Helion Research, BARE International, Multi-Value and Frontline Focus International. There are other companies which accept mystery shoppers from Belgium but these are the ones where I see available assignments. Mystery shoppers do not need to have prior mystery shopping experience but are required to have a good eye for detail in order to report back accurately on the visit.

Surveys

If you like answering surveys, polls and product tests, signing up on different sites can be something for you. Survey lengths vary in length between 15 to 25 minutes. You might also receive a product to be tested for which you have to give your feedback online. Sites which are open to Belgian residents include: Toluna, Global Test Market, Global Opinion Panels (Synovate), Tech-Facts, Palm Research Surveys and Place des Opinions.

Transcription

Do you like transcribing audio files? Transcription is another online job which you can do. Some companies that accept international transcribers are CallGraph
and QuickTate. For both companies you need to pass their qualifying tests.

Decoy Mail Agents

Quotas and Hauser Group accept agents from Belgium provided these companies have clients in the country.

Freelancing Sites

Freelancer, Elance, ODesk are some freelancing sites where you bid on, post projects you are interested in. Registration is free but if you win a bid, the site takes a certain percentage as commission fees. Fiverr and Mechanical Turk are also sites which are worth mentioning because you can find different types of online work here from web searching, data annotation, editing and so on.

Web Evaluation

LionBridge, LeapForce and Butler Hill are some of the companies which hire internet evaluators from Belgium.

Paid to Click Sites

Paying sites include Neobux, Onbux and EU-bux.
