In case we should ever stop to question the government and
the tax dollars of the US citizens has on the economy, let’s take a
look at the influence the government exerts over our daily lives,
and the impact both good and bad of that influence.
The numbers are really staggering; the government controls,
through direct spending about 43-45% of the economy. That’s a truly
amazing figure. Today more than ever, government spending accounts
for almost as much of the economy as the private sector spending.
During the late 30s and early 40s, right after the passage of the
New Deal legislature, private sector controlled almost 90% of the
economy. This should give you some idea as the drastic change we’ve
experienced in only two generations. If you convert these
percentages to real dollars and cents, this equates to roughly
$13,000 in support by the individual citizen spent towards the
government’s taxation needs. When you turn this into working days,
it equals 5.3 months of your work year are devoted to support
government spending.
To step back, and clarify these statistics, first you must
understand that the economy is divided basically into two sectors:
there is one that is dependent upon federal, state, and local
government spending, and this is known as the government sector,
and then there’s all others, known as the private sector. The
government sector is funded by tax dollars collected from the
individuals and businesses in this country. Therefore, whatever the
government decides to spend and influence the economy with is
basically funded by our tax dollars.

It is not easy for anyone to quit a habit quickly. One needs time
and must be granted that duration to help oneself, but what about
those who love to continue with this bad habit and even make excuses
to retain it. It is common among chain smokers to search for lame
excuses. One such excuse is ‘Concentration Con’. A smoker explains
that a puff helps him to concentrate. This excuse does not have any
medical base but is just a fake explanation that renders a chance to
the smoker to continue smoking.

Every habitual person who is in the process of getting rid of
smoking has to face withdrawal symptoms but may not last long.
At times, the person becomes irksome and restless. He takes this
nature as a negative effect and again wants to have a puff to feel
at ease. But when this misconception unveils itself, we come across
a fact that smoking lessens the concentration power instead of
enhancing it. The ease that the smoker feels after puffing another
cigarette is just an effect of nicotine. Nicotine intoxicates the
mind making it relax for a short time. This way the person feels
Lame Excuses Never Work

Any single goal requires hard work and properly constructed time
management schemes to work in harmony in an effort to achieve our
dreams. When you are diverting a plan to meet your goal then you
need to work a time management solution that runs smoothly and
consistently. I am going to include an example of a faulty time
management scheme and an over-your-head goal agreement:

According to Business Week Online, filing bankruptcy is going to
be harder than ever. Lawyers say that getting your bankruptcies out
of the way now can save you headaches later. Statistics show that
many people are filing bankruptcy and rushing to the court doors are
many more business owners and others. If you this is not your goal,
don’t worry, but if you don’t have a time management scheme
well-thought out, you might be one of the individuals that was
listed in Business Week Online, struggling later to get a bankruptcy
in action.

If you are interested in losing weight, you may have thought about joining a local weight loss program or visiting a local weight loss center. Unfortunately, if you are like many other individuals who are interested in losing weight, you may not necessarily have the time to do so. Whether you have a demanding job, a family to take care of, or both, you may find it impossible to meet up with a local weight loss group on a regular basis. If that is the case, you may be thinking that achieving your weight loss goal is simply out of reach, but it doesn’t have to be.

What many individuals do not know is that they can join an online weight loss program. Online weight loss programs are similar to many locally operated weight loss programs. Often times, the only difference is that you do not get to meet with group leaders or other members in person. If you are searching for a way to incorporate weight loss into your busy schedule, you are urged to examine online weight loss programs. These online weight loss programs are designed for all individuals, but they are perfect for those who regularly find themselves pressed for time.

When it comes to online weight loss programs, you will find that these online weight loss programs come in a number of different formats. For starters, it is possible to find free online weight loss programs; however, you will likely find that the best ones require the paying of a membership fee. Although each weight loss program is likely to vary, many have affordable monthly membership rates, some as low as five dollars a month. It is also possible to find weight loss programs that are designed for women, men, those over the age of fifty, and so forth.

If you have never joined an online weight loss program before, you may be wondering a little bit more about how they work. As previously stated, not all online weight loss programs are the same. With that in mind, however, you will find that many operate in similar matters. A few of the many member perks that you may get, when joining an online weight loss program, are outlined below.

One of the many perks or benefits to joining an online weight loss program is that you should get access to workout or exercise information. Many online weight loss programs will give you access to their website, which should have exercises and workouts outlined for you. You should be able to get detailed directions for those exercises, pictures, and possibly even sample videos. Some more expensive online weight loss programs will give you access to customize workouts, ones which focus on the areas of your body that you would most like to improve.

Another member perk or feature that you should get access to with an online weight loss program is that of healthy recipes. Healthy eating is an important part of weight loss. That is why many online weight loss programs have a healthy eating section. Not only may you get healthy food recipes, but you may also get moneysaving coupons, as well as cooking and food shopping tips.

As previously stated, often times the only difference between a locally operated weight loss program and an online program is the fact that you do not get to meet with the group leaders or other group members in person. With online weight loss programs, you may not get in-person contact, but you may still be able to communicate. Many online weight loss programs have online message boards for their members to communicate with each other.

As a reminder, it is important to remember that not all online weight loss programs are the same. Despite the possibility of a variance, you should find that most online weight loss programs are more than worth your money, especially if you regularly find yourself pressed for time.

Working Time Management Mom’s

When you walk in the door, you see a stack of papers floating around
your desk, and when you go home, just as at the office, you can’t
find those important papers you need so desperately to stay out of
trouble or make an excuse. When you come home at night, you and your
spouse argue, and your children ignore you because you just aren’t
spending family time with some of the important people in your life.

Does this sound familiar? Have you ever wondered why? Well, you are
not managing your time accordingly so that you reap benefits and the
ones you love are happy. You are not organized, so therefore how the
heck can you find those important documents? Moms already have a big
responsibility and we neglect to manage our times, our
responsibilities turn to chaos.

Let’s face it; it is never easy to stay organized when we have busy
work schedules and a family to attend to, as well as other
responsibilities. The traditional individuals often store files in a
filing cabinet, and clean their room and desk once every week.
However, there are people out there that are spontaneous. Some of us
even store documents so they are out of sight and soon find those
documents are out of mind, until someone calls their attention to the
papers. The key to success moms is getting your priorities straight.
If you shop for groceries once per week, you can cut back time by
buying enough to last longer, so that grocery shopping isn’t part of
your weekly plan. The extra hour or more that you spend at the
supermarket can be spent on quality time with the family. This is
only one solution to managing your time, but it is certainly a start.
In addition, you can make up a list of your duties, starting with
the most important tasks first, and working through the list one at
a time. I found this to be a great solution for managing time, since
when you work hard to complete one task, the rests fall into place
with ease. If you spend an hour or even one half hour in the mirror,
it is probably because you are not feeling good about your self. It
takes approximately five minutes to put make-up on, and to stand in
the mirror longer is only taking up time. Hair is also important
since our person in general sets an impression. If you spend longer
time than needed doing your hair, try finding nice looking hairstyles
that are less complicated to style. This is also a great process of
the time management solution. Clothing should also be limited but
appropriate for whatever it is that you doing and it should not take
less than a couple of minutes to get dressed. Unless you are a model,
or actress, overdressing is not appropriate in most cases for every
day life situations. If you are spending extra time preparing meals,
you might want to consider recipes that are quick and healthy to
manage your time mom.

Working With Computers
In Today’s Society, There’s No Escape

Well, we’ve been warned that this time would come – probably from the earlier eighties on. Yes, computers have finally taken over and if you doubt it, we’re here to convince you – but not because we want to or because we can. We want to convince you that if you don’t take the necessary steps to control that reign, you’re going to be left behind further than you could have ever imagined.

Computers are everywhere. Take a moment to try and think of a place a business where you didn’t see a computer in use. From the small local corner store to the largest hospital, computers are in every gas station, grocery store, bank, restaurant, beauty shop, and doctor’s office around. From a consumer’s point of view – you may not think that’s much to worry about. But along with computers, we’ve also been infiltrated with a little thing called “self-service.” Today, there are more self-serviced resources than ever and in an effort to synchronize them with headquarter databases, they’re provided via your inescapable computer.

Here are some examples. Banking is self-serviced through the desktop-clad ATM machine. Gas stations are self-serviced through a menu-clad touch screen kiosk. Most cash registers are Windows XP or Vista machines that send purchase details back to headquarters via the Internet (or a small Intranet). Having your weight, blood pressure, and heart rate measured and recorded is now a digitized process. Even ordering a pizza is now a simple matter of dialing from a wireless cell phone and making a few selections from series of pre-programmed menus!

The important thing to realize here is that this phenomenon isn’t a new convenience – it’s a new requirement. And if you haven’t jumped onto the binary wagon, you’re going to face a few problems. For just as this new lifestyle was once predicted, we’re going to predict that “the old ways” will slowly disappear.

We’re going to predict that all paper-based transactions (checks, money orders, etc.) and documentation (think of the old filing cabinet system) will disappear. We’re going to predict that chips will replace everything that was once transported from one location to another through the trusty post office. And we’re going to predict that homes will become less cluttered with stacks of paper and that our natural resources will flourish as a result of it.

This all sounds fine and dandy of course, but if you’re not computer savvy, you’re going to feel a little lost once the choice has past and the revolution is 100% complete. Fortunately, computer systems are designed in a way that even a child can manipulate them. In fact, if you can remember that most systems are designed along the line of menus and the selections of a few options on these menus, you’ll do just fine no matter how many buttons there are to push.

For example, when you’re faced with an electronic system, look for a main menu. Most main menus display themselves as soon as a device is turned on, so chances are that if you’re standing before a device that shows a bunch of choices to do something, you’re looking at a main menu. The buttons on these main menus of course take you to additional menus, which in turn give you even more choices to make. And all of those choices will eventually bring you to the service that you need. One very important choice you’ll want to keep your eye on is the option to return to the main menu. This way, you can return to the beginning of a system and start over in case you get lost among the way.

Another important choice that you want to keep your eye on is the choice to get help! This option may not be available on every device that you encounter, but when it is available, be sure to use it.

There’s just no way around it. Computers and computerized systems are here to stay. There’s no need to fear them – but you surely can’t avoid them. Just remember the menu system and you’ll soon discover that you can approach and use these things as if you designed them yourself.

Beauty: Workplace Fashions: The Importance of Not Overdoing It

Are you a female who is employed? If you are, do you work in an office setting? Although office related jobs are one of the best to have, as they allow you to work in a comfortable environment and they often pay well, there is much drama that is associated with office workplace settings. For that reason, you need to proceed with caution, especially concerning the clothes that you wear.

One of the many reasons why you should be careful with what you wear to work is because something simple, like your clothing, can be turned into a much larger issue. It may become a large issue that may cause you problems at work or an issue that may cause you to quit or lose your job. Since there is a good chance that you don’t want that to happen, you will want to continue reading on.

One of the many ways that you can avoid issues or complications at work is by carefully reviewing your workplace dress code. Reviewing the dress code of your workplace is extremely important, especially if you are a new employee. There are many companies that are a little bit vague on their dress code expectations and restrictions, but not all are. It is common to find restrictions such as no dresses or skirts with hems above the knees or no tank-tops. If you are still unsure as to what you can and cannot wear at work, you may want to speak with your supervisor. In this instance, it is better safe than sorry.

Another one of the many ways that you can avoid issues or complications at work is by placing yourself in the shoes of your customers. This is particularly important if you interact with your company’s clients and customers. Since your actions, as well as your appearance will not only reflect highly on you, yourself, but your employer as well, it is important that you take your clothing into consideration. For instance, if you worked as a loan officer, how do you think that your clients would feel if you showed up for work to deal with them in shorts and a tank-top? If you wouldn’t business with someone looking like that, there is a good chance that others wouldn’t as well.

In addition to placing yourself in the shoes of your company’s clients and customers, it is also advised that you place yourself in the shoes of your coworkers. There is a good chance that you are at least somewhat familiar with your coworkers. This means that you may already know what they talk or gossip about. If one of your coworker were to show up at work wearing a short sundress, what you would you think about them? In all honesty, there is a good chance that your thoughts wouldn’t necessarily be pleasant. You need to remember that others likely think the same way as well. That is why you need to, personally, be careful with what you wear to work, unless you want to be the center of gossip.

One of the many ways that you can find appropriate clothing to wear to work is by using the internet to your advantage. What you may want to do is visit the online websites of upscale clothing stores. Upscale clothing stores, especially those with a focus on career-oriented women, are less likely to have “skimpy,” clothing available for sale. While you don’t have to make your purchases from the retailers that you examine online, you can still get some great clothing ideas. It is also important to mention that many upscale clothing stores also place a focus on the latest fashions. This means that you can dress appropriately for work, while still looking fashionable at the same time.

The above mentioned points are all points that you will want to take into consideration, especially when getting dressed for work first thing in the morning. By taking a few extra minutes to think about your appearance for work, you may completely eliminate or reduce the chances of you being involved in shady workplace related issues, like gossip.
