I was using my car to run errands for work and was in an accident am i covered under workers comp?

I was running errands for work when a semi driver ran me off the road, slamming me into the stirring wheel whipping my neck forward, shoving my chest and ribs into the stirring wheel. My employer said he was not going to pay for injuries or cover the damage to my car. Can he do this? Or and I covered by the employers insurance?
No company vehicles were made avaliable to me for use, I was expected to use my own car.

I am on workers comp. I have been out of work 8 months with a nonsurgical baclk injury. after i am released how long will it take in maryland for the insurance adjusters to offer a settlement

I crushed my finger at work about a year ago. Can I still sue the company?

The injury pretty much ruined my whole life because I was planning on becoming a professional pianist. Playing the piano is my passion in life. The company is treating me like crap and trying to make me feel bad. Should I sue them? How much money should I expect?

I got hurt at work due to negligence on their part now they are harassing me..Lawyer or not?

I am a CNA at a nursing home I reported twice in the last two weeks to my dirstor of nursing that I need more help in my area my patients are extemely demented and heavy and no one will help me with them. Toileting and transfering. Both times she said she was going to think about it and I got no help. On sunday morning after a previous hard days work I woke up unable to walk(my left leg wouln’t work) and severe lower back pain. The day before my back was sore but I stayed in bed iced it and took some alieve didn’t get up till the next morning. I felt better and I went to work on sunday. I was taking care of a 260lb woman and followed procedure to transfer with another personand raise the bed so she didn’t have far to go. She started to fall back so I lowered the bed to hip level and had her sit down only the mattress that was suppossed to be secured to the bed wasn’t so her feet started to slide forward her bottow was sliding off the bed because she slipped off the mattress and she was going to fall. Just then my supervisior walked in I asked her to get a machine to safely stand her(it was right outside the room) she said no went behind the bed behind the patient to block the matress (like that was gonna help)and started pulling her backwards by her safety belt the patient was yelling so I asked the supervisor agin to get the machine. she said no lift her by the legs and I’m gonna pull her back. I did and when I stood up I had shooting pains in my lower back and leg.I reported my injury immediately. She blew me off when I told her so I made a big deal then she had to call around because she didn’t know work injury procedure. It is now 5 days later. Doctor is pretty sure I have nerve damage and a possible slipped disk. When I went in to see my HR person she tried to write me up for not reporting the injury on saturday.Anyfeed back? She also made me wait 24hrs until my drug screen to come back to see a doctor cancelled my physical therapy on her own judgement and violated dotors orders by making me walk to and from a rest area while on “light duty” no walking light duty…The rest area was at least 200ft from my work area…HELP!! These people are monsters what do I do??

How do I fill out the paperwork for a record expungement in North Carolina?

I live in Catawba County in North Carolina and I have been searching quite sometime for an attorney that can have a misdemeanor expunged from record. I have been unsuccessful in finding someone who is able to do it. (Most of them handle only workers comp, DUI, and accident cases. I found a site that says I can fill out the paper work myself and submit it; but I need to make sure I fill it out correctly. Does anyone know how to do it? Do you know of a site for NC that tells you specifically how to do it? I need help. Thank you.

California Workers Comp has taken care of everything to this point. My husband has returned to work on a part-time basis. We want to leave his medical open. Will there be a monetary settlement offered? If so, how is the amount determined and how would the payment be set? Thanks for your comments!

I’ve recently split up with my soon to be ex-husband. He has a large income I have virtually none. (A small workers comp settlement payment which is non-taxable) He is self employed & claims about 1/10 of the income he actually makes. I don’t want to sign anymore lies for him. I am also wondering if I can do an amended return & file married filing seperately. If the IRS ever audits him & his accounts I don’t want to be responsible. Thanks
What about the fact that we had seperate bank accounts? I was never involved with the business at all. In fact I was told by him that his business matters did not involve me at all. I just signed the returns when he gave them to me. If there was a refund, I signed it & it went into his bank account. Am I still liable for his dishonesty?

Thanks for all the answers. Right now there are no problems with the IRS. I guess I will have to see if anything develops in the future.

How does a lawsuit settlement work in the state of Kansas?

I was a passenger in a car accident in ‘04 and my lawyer finally was able to ask for a settlement after the people involved in my injury decided to go ghost and I was able to find them. I am entitled to personal injury loss and my lawyer is asking for more because the main injury I sustained may be permanent. Even though I’m entitled to personal injury fees along with the other parties that’s involved(the person who hit me and caused the car to hit two other cars) can I get more? If so what amount can I get once my lawyer get his fee and the state of Kansas get their fee from taxes since this is a civil suit. My personal injury gain is $450K. My lawyer is asking for over $600K more for med. exp. and loss of income. His fee range is 32% if net recovery is reached, 36% if recovery is reached after filing a lawsuit, and 40% if recovery is reached after commencement of final prep for trial. Could I also ask my insurance to pay the legal fees? Can’t find info anywhere about this.

Please help me. If my boss fires me after I give notice would I be eligible for unemployment compensation?

I live in Wisconsin, btw. I just don’t trust this situation. I have put a lot into this organization, yet my hair-trigger tempered boss continues to treat me off-and-on with incredible disrespect. I will continue to work hard, be respectful, diplomatically set boundaries when I have to, and try not to trigger her temper or her fears. Even though I love teaching and will miss my students, I will be giving two weeks’ notice at the end of July. My dual-function as her assistant has been a living nightmare. My boss is a very different person behind closed doors.

The teaching positions I have lined up in NYC–at two technical colleges–do not start until September. What can I do if she fires me on the spot? Also, how can I keep my cool during those final two weeks? I am next to sure that her temper tantrums and disrespectful behavior will escalate. She will retaliate. She has very little self-control and has stated that she does not suffer from mood swings. I had a dream a couple of nights ago that I walked out. If I leave during those last two weeks, can I be sued for workplace abandonment? I have learned that workplace bullying is not illegal, but I will continue to document all incidents of largely verbal abuse–including incidents that were witnessed by colleagues and students. What are my rights–by law? In this economy, I wonder if workers have any rights. I reported her to a board member and discussed the situation with our resource counselor but was told that I have to just accept her for who she is: a former construction worker, a woman pioneer in the field who lacks people skills. The board values her as a program coordinator, an expert networker, and a pretty good fundraiser. Plus they all go way back.

Please help me. I am open to suggestions.
