Too Many Kids Activities!

We get up late, have a nice breakfast (breakfast burritos), sit outside and listen to the birds chirp, soft music playing in the background all while I have my coffee and the kids play.

After this leisurely morning we pack a lunch and get ready to go and sit by the pool ALL day with our friends. At early evening we come home, have a great dinner and sit by the fire with our cocktails.

Then we repeat this every day.

Doesn’t summer sound great?

This is NOT the true picture of summer. At least not our summer.

School ends and we still had a month of dance and soccer left, and while this is going on the not-so-relaxing summer begins:

Out of town one weekend
Booth for Cataluña Designs
Near Ball
Family Camp
Vacation Bible School
Dance
Tae Kwon Do
Booth for Cataluña Designs
Piano
Acting
Booth for Cataluña Designs
Golf Camp
Church Camp
Phew! I think that is it!

In between all of this we are reading like crazy, going to the library, the pool, parks, playdates, ValleyFair, zoos and doing math, Spanish and more.

Relaxing summer my a _ _! Part of me can’t wait till school!

7 Reasons NOT to Have a Job by Christine Kane… In a reverse look at self-employment, Christine has some very good reasons to be an independent worker in your own business. I agree with all her points except #4, I prefer to think Tie, then it works for me.

Managing “Busy-ness”: What Gives? by Amber Singleton Riviere… Lets face it, once your business starts to grow, there are some things you do that do nothing but take up your valuable time. Get rid of the time sinks and do something constructive.

Summer Is Halfway Over

Can you believe that summer is over halfway done? School got out June 8^th and they go back on August 30^th. So it was a little short – the schools are changing to going back early. So this year we had the short summer.

We just have so much that we wanted to do and not much time to get it all done.

Go on a family trip to a cabin.
Go bike riding more often.
Museums.
Parks.
The pool.
Just play…..

Instead I am spending time thinking about getting the kids adjusted back to school time. That program will start in a few short weeks. They have been staying up until 9 or 10 EVERY night. I do not get time to myself, to work, to just hang with my husband. It’s all kids all the time and we have been so busy!

Time is flying by but it will be nice when the routine comes back. Of course I will hate the routine a few weeks after it starts. So for now I will enjoy the rest of this crazy summer. The countdown has begun!
