Our GMAPS for Visual Composer FREE plugin gets a rebranding to match Visual Composer turbing into WPBakery Page Builder.

I know it’s been a while since we updated this plugin, but now it also support API keys from Google, which basically makes the plugin functional again.

If you previously had the plugin installed, all you have to do is to update it from your WordPress dashboard.

If you would like to download it, either go to this link or go into your WordPress dashboard to Plugins > Add New and search for Gmaps for WPBakery.

By default, wordpress allows you to add custom post excerpts. You can easily add a piece of code in your theme functions.php file to extend this functionality to pages.

Controlling excerpts would help you to increase the post/page SEO score. Keep in mind that this is really important!

You will have to add the code below in your theme functions.php file.

Once you saved the file, go to your existing/new pages and hit refresh.

From the top of the screen click Screen Options and enable the Excerpt checkbox.

You will now be able to add Page excerpts.

You can limit login access by IP from .htaccess in WordPress and doing so, your website security increases.

Make sure your IP address is not dynamic, otherwise you will be locked-out from WordPress login (until you change the old IP or delete this specific .htaccess rule).

All you will have to do is to change 89.76.232.123 from the code below with your IP address.

Any IP other than 89.76.232.123 (in this case) would get a 403 page saying that “You don’t have permission to access /wp-admin on this server.“.

In this tutorial I am going to show you how to change WordPress menu item id to something more suggestive as the page slug.

By default, WordPress menu items have menu-item-xx ID and that can be easily changed if you want to give a more semantic meaning to your code.

Think about some jQuery code with a lot of actions that involve your menu-items.

You will have to add the code below in your theme functions.php file.

This code simply triggers a function that replaces default wordpress menu items ids with the post name (page slug).

Example: you will replace <li id=”menu-item-15″> with <li id=”about-us”>

Every security breach comes from a small detail that no one paid attention to, so in this article I am going to show you how to add general login hints in WordPress.

From WordPress 4.5 you can login using e-mail or username. This could be a potential security issue, just because the hacker will get some important hints from default login messages.

When a user enters the incorrect username, WordPress will show him this message by default:

ERROR: Invalid username. Lost your password?

If the username is correct but the password is wrong, WordPress outputs this error message:

ERROR: The password you entered for the username iulian is incorrect. Lost your password?

In order to have general hints for errors at login in WordPress, you will just have to enter this piece of code in your functions.php file inside the theme.
