Remnants of Tropical Storm Lee

We've had our fair share of rain, going from less than a quarter of an inch for August to 10+ inches already in September! The locals here in Cleveland, TN took to the "field" across the street from our warehouse with kayaks and bathing suits! Normally it's a nice area with a walking trail, however with the stream flowing nearby, it's turned into a lake.

"Heavy rain from the former Tropical Storm Lee rolled northeast into Appalachian states Tuesday, spreading the threat of flooding as far as New England after drenching the South, spawning tornadoes, sweeping several people away and knocking out power to thousands.

Rain kept falling Tuesday in Chattanooga, Tenn., which went from its driest-ever month in August with barely a drop to a record one-day deluge of 8.16 inches by 5 p.m. Monday. By dawn Tuesday, 10 inches of rain had fallen in the state's fourth-largest city." Quote taken from an article at Forbes.com!

Missing A Piece??

Have you ever spent hours working a jigsaw puzzle only to discover the last piece is missing?? Total Bummer!

I love working jigsaw puzzles...it's very relaxing and relieves stress (until I discover I'm missing a piece!) There are so many different types of puzzles – jigsaw, word, logic, educational, brain teasers, 3D, 4D – and about a thousand others I could name. The Wildlife Ark Mural Mosaic is one of my favorite puzzles. However, my “favorite” changes quite often. My children love puzzles too. Solving jigsaw puzzles is a great way for children to develop hand-eye coordination and problem solving skills while having fun. Game of Thrones on HBO

This is one of the more popular games that we carry turned into a series on HBO. I'm posting this blog on our website and our news site to inform the masses.

Losing an asset

Sad but true, we are losing an asset to the company but for a good cause. On April 1^st, of all days, we were able to pull off a surprise baby shower for one of our warehouse employees. It was great to be able to keep her in the dark for several weeks. I wasn’t sure if we would be able to do it but it was a huge success. We had a few goodies to eat as well as some yummy pink cupcakes made by our very own Ms. Lynne. Tabitha will be leaving soon to go on maternity leave. She looks like she is about to pop any day now. If I’m not mistaken, she only has about 4 to 5 weeks left. She says she is going to work until “time”. A couple guys said they had buckets and mops ready to go. We are told it will be a girl. Can’t wait to see the new arrival to the cast.

Spreading our Wings

Be on the look out for more and more exciting new items each and every week. Now that we are in the new warehouse, it is predicted that we will be out growing it by this time next year. I can see this happening as our goal is to add at least 2 to 3 new companies to your product line each week for a total of 100 by the end of the year. Just since September I have seen us add over 1500 new products to our company. You want it and we are going to get it. I will continue to keep you informed of these new items as they come in. I may not be able to get to them all but if you check out our web stores, you can see for yourself.

Let the Moving Commence!

As we've grown from year to year, our current address on Adkisson Drive has been getting more and more cramped. After several years, a dozen more employees, and thousands more products, we've run out of room! By the end of this month we will be moved into a shiny new warehouse!

As a result, we'll have plenty of room for even MORE people and products. The boss is currently at the New York Toy Fair finding all the coolest toys and games, so once we're moved into our big, spacious new place we'll quickly fill it up with cool, new items.

So keep an eye out for tons of new product lines, and maybe even some photos of our new place!

Snow Beginning to Subside

We're back in business, but only at about half capacity. Some of our employees are still stranded in their houses because of snow, but those of us that are here are doing the best we can to get all customers' packages out the door. Please be aware that the snow has caused us to lose an entire day of work, plus all deliveries are still running somewhat late because of the weather. We are behind, but we are trying to catch up, and we thank you all for your patience as we work to overcome the delays.

Due to snow and icy conditions in our area, we are closed for today. If you have any customer service issues, we will not be there to take your call, so either leave a detailed message or send us an email. Unfortunately, this also means that all outgoing packages will be delayed. We apologize for this situation, but hope that all of our customers will understand and be patient as we wait for the icy conditions to clear up. We will update again tomorrow, or as the situation changes. Let's all hope that the ice melts so that we are able to go back to our usual routine!

As many of our customers have noticed, we've not done a weekly video for some time now. I apologize, and I really wish we could keep it up, but the holiday rush has left us incredibly busy and stretched thin.

Rest assured, though, that when the pace slows down and we are able, there will be a video! I will do my absolute best to make the most epic World at Play Games video the world has ever seen.

Twilight Creations Sale!

This Sunday is Halloween, so we've put all the Twilight Creations products on sale! Twilight Creations creates the popular Zombies!!! game, a personal favorite of mine, along with many other horror-themed games, including their latest, Forever Young, a game about vampires! Halloween may come and go, but you'll be able to enjoy these games year-round. This sale ends next Friday, so if you want some Halloween-style fun, now's the time to get it!
