Isabelle Caro Picture Update News - Isabelle Caro (12 September 1982 – 17 November 2010) was a French model from Marseille, France, who became well-known after appearing in a controversial ad campaign "No Anorexia" which showed Caro with vertebrae and facial bones showing under her skin in a picture by photographer Oliviero Toscani. She was the 3rd cousin of poker author Mike Caro.

Biography

Caro suffered from severe anorexia nervosa from the age of 13. Her anorexia was caused by what she called a "troubled childhood". When she appeared on CBS's The Insider, it was revealed that at the worst of her eating disorder, she weighed only 25 kilograms (55 lb; 3 st 13 lb) at a height of 1.65 metres (5 ft 5 in); her most recent weight was 33 kilograms (73 lb; 5 st 3 lb).

She appeared on Channel 4's Supersize vs Superskinny which aired on 11 March 2008, in which she spoke to journalist Anna Richardson about her anorexia.

Caro was hospitalized for the first time when she was 20. At her worst, in 2006, she slipped into a coma, weighing just 25 kilograms (55 lb; 3 st 13 lb). The doctor said she would not survive the coma but she did.

Caro was also interviewed in the second episode of the TV documentary series, The Price of Beauty, in which Jessica Simpson and her two best friends, Ken Pavés and CaCee Cobb, traveled the world to explore the meaning of true beauty. Simpson investigated the problem of how some female fashion models have become obsessed with being skinny. Caro talked about how she became anorexic and warned other girls about the affliction. Simpson was moved to say "What you are doing right now makes you more beautiful and I hope women all over the world hear about the story and it is important to know that how skinny you are does not make you beautiful." It aired on 22 March 22 2010 in the USA and on 21 August in Japan.

Death
Caro died on 17 November 2010 in France, after spending about two weeks in hospital with acute respiratory disease. The cause of her death is unknown. Ms Caro's acting instructor, Daniele Dubreuil-Prevot, told the Associated Press news agency that Ms Caro had died "after returning to France" from a job in Tokyo. Her family only reported Caro's death to the media a month afterward, on 29 December 2010

Solomon Burke Died - The Legendary King of Rock & Sou Music Solomon Burke dies in 70 Years his age. Solomon Burke has died at Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport Netherland. Burke was the father of 21 children (14 daughters and 7 sons), 90 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Solomon Burke (March 21, 1940 – October 10, 2010) was an American Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter. During the half-century that he performed, he drew from his roots: gospel, soul, and blues, as well as developing his own style in a time when R&B, and rock were still in their infancy. Burke was considered a pioneer and was a member of the prestigious Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Early life and career
Solomon Burke was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Some sources claim that he was born in 1936, others say 1938, but in a 2002 interview with Philadelphia Weekly Burke stated that he was born in 1940.[1] He began his adult life as a preacher in Philadelphia, and soon moved on to hosting a gospel radio show. He met fellow preacher Martin Luther King, Jr. several times.

In the 60s, under the influence of artists such as Little Richard, Burke signed with Atlantic Records and began moving towards more secular music. His first hit was "Just Out Of Reach (Of My Two Open Arms)", a cover of a country song. Though well-received by both peers and critics, and attaining a few moderate pop and several major R&B hits, Burke never could quite break through into the mainstream as did Sam Cooke or Otis Redding, who covered Burke's "Down in the Valley" for 1965's Otis Blue. Burke's best known song is "Cry to Me", which was a hit twice: first in the 60's, and again in the 1980s when it was used in the film – and appeared on the soundtrack for – Dirty Dancing.

In 1964 he wrote and recorded "Everybody Needs Somebody to Love", his most prominent bid for an enduring soul standard. Almost immediately covered by The Rolling Stones the same year, other well-known versions include one by Wilson Pickett and another, a decade and a half later, in the 1980 film The Blues Brothers.

Burke enjoyed a special relationship with the Catholic Church throughout his life and in 2000, he and his family were invited to perform at the Jubilee of the Family at the Vatican. He was invited back to the Vatican by both Pope John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI for the Christmas celebration.

Burke was also an undertaker and had a mortuary business in Los Angeles. He was trained as a mortician early in his life and had worked in his uncle's funeral parlor.

In 1987, he appeared in the movie The Big Easy as Daddy Mention. He was mentioned throughout the 1995 Nick Hornby novel High Fidelity.

Personal life
Burke was the father of 21 children (14 daughters and 7 sons), 90 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. On July 15, 2008, Burke confirmed to his audience at the Juan Les Pins Jazz Festival in France that he would soon have 90 grandchildren. Several of his children and grandchildren have had successful careers in various facets of the music industry, though none are as renowned as their patriarch. One of his grandsons, Novel, released his first studio album in October 2008.[citation needed] His daughter, Candy Burke, was a backing singer for the first time at a Burke performance in the July 2008 Juan Les Pins concert where she performed a rendition of "I Will Survive" to rapturous applause from the crowd.

On October 10, 2010, he was reported to have died at Schiphol Airport in the Netherlands, on or immediately after a flight from Los Angeles to Amsterdam, where he had been due to perform with De Dijk on October 12. The cause of death was not immediately clear. According to his family, Burke died of natural causes.

Van der Vaart joins Tottenham from Madrid - Transferring player update. Tottenham Hotspur FC have completed the signing of Netherlands midfielder Rafael van der Vaart from Real Madrid CF as they prepare to make their group-stage debut. Rafael van der Vaart has completed his move to Tottenham Hotspur FC from Real Madrid CF.

Van Der Vaart
The London club moved for the Netherlands playmaker just before the transfer deadline on Tuesday and the Premier League have now ratified the move. No details have been released of the terms of the 27-year-old's deal.

AFC Ajax product Van der Vaart joined Madrid from Hamburger SV in 2008 and has also been capped 83 times by the Netherlands, helping them to this year's FIFA World Cup final. He is joined at Tottenham by goalkeeper Stipe Pletikosa, loaned on Tuesday by FC Spartak Moskva, as his new club prepare to begin their first UEFA Champions League campaign against holders FC Internazionale Milano, SV Werden Bremen and FC Twente.

However, the minority party hasn't won yet down under.

Hair-care company Head & Shoulders has taken out a $1 million dollar insurance policy on Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu’s hair to ensure his trademark locks won’t get damaged during the NFL season.

The company made the announcement Monday, noting that it was the first time in history that an insurance policy of this type had been ordered. According to a press release from Head & Shoulders, his hair is so thick that, end to end, it spans 1,100 football fields and can hold approximately 24,062 pounds.

“Head & Shoulders has gone above and beyond by insuring my Samoan locks for a cool $1 million dollars,” Polamalu said. “This reinforces that my full and thick hair is unstoppable.”

Polamalu became a spokesman for the company last year. He has not cut his hair in seven years.
