With remote control in hand, I was browsing through Sky News, BBC, CNN, Al-Jazeera and Press TV. To the best of my recollection, it was Sky News which caught my eye. The breaking news referred to a planned Israeli nuclear attack on two American cities, which were to be linked to Pakistan. America would have had a cause to respond in kind and take out Pakistani nuclear sites. I couldn’t believe my eyes! I rewound the news to double check what I had just read. Thinking details would be published in the Guardian newspaper the following day I did not record it. Later, I rang a friend and told him about the mind boggling news. The bizarre news kept me awake most of the night.

The next day I got the newspaper and went through it page by page. To my surprise, the “ticker news” could not be seen anywhere. I read it a couple of times but failed to find the particular piece. I could not understand how the newspaper missed such an important part of the leak? In pursuit, I opened the Wikileaks’ website and browsed through it carefully; no luck again. Then, I Googled relevant questions pertaining to Israel; still no luck! To make it more direct, I refined my search based on the information I had read on television. Again no reference. The news had just disappeared from cyberspace. Doubts started emerging whether I had really seen that segment which was embedded in my mind despite me vividly remembering its content. In fact I called a friend about it. So what happened to the news?

The only explanation I can think of is that the news item must have leaked out by mistake and then swiftly been retracted. After all it is common knowledge that the leaks are selective. I have no idea who else watched it during that brief period it was on the air. Was it a coincidence that at that very moment I was browsing through the channels? Many would say yes. But I don’t believe in coincidences. I call them part of ‘cosmic language’. All it means is that nature talks to us in its own language that has no syllabi. I may write on this subject some other time. But for now I had to find the ‘missing leak’.

During my search I came to know about a basic fact that even the embarrassment factor was not that high for the politicians and foreign diplomats as they all understood each other and routinely lied which explains the uniformity in their reaction to the leaks by denying them. It also became apparent that the leaks related to Israel were primarily Iran-centric and that Iran’s nukes pose an “existentialist threat” to Israel. It was interesting to find that before the leaks were publicized Natanyahu did not think they would seriously damage Israel’s position. No wonder when he visited jubilantly Tel Aviv’s Beit Sokolow, the home of the Israeli Journalists Association, for the prime minister’s annual meeting with the Editors Committee, he was all smiles. This is the place where Ben Gurion used to hold secret meetings. Last year he skipped the event; however, this time around it was different because of the Wikileaks publication. He showed up to display his political command by sticking to his public agenda and sending a message to the White House of what was befalling President Obama. As if he knew there was now no fear that Washington would persist on the question of a settlement freeze or to accelerate negotiations on withdrawal from the territories. He felt confident that the settlement issue would take a back seat and it was time to press on other issues such as extremism in Arab and Muslim world.

At Beit Sokolow he announced “no one will now be able to allege that Israel is acting irresponsibly”. Then he spoke about the Arab leaders urging them to “speak openly about Iran what they have been whispering to the Americans” Speaking his language in an interview with Time Magazine, Julian Assange sent an identical message “We can see the Israeli Prime Minister [Benjamin] Natanyahu coming out with a very interesting statement that leaders should speak in public like they do in private whenever they can”.

Natanyahu was proud that Israel maintained information security and that sensitive conversations were not conveyed in diplomatic cables but in face-to-face meetings or via secure telephones. For a split second that “mysterious ticker” flashed back and I thought if only Natanyahu knew that a blunder had been committed by someone somewhere exposing Israel’s intentions to start a nuclear nightmare!

He seemed content with the outcome of Wikileaks, ignoring what Huseyin Celik, the deputy leader of Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan’s AKP Party had said about Israel. Celic accused Israel of engineering the leaks, questioning how Israel could announce before the release that it would not suffer from its publication. He queried, “How did they know that?”

Instead, Natanyahu was quoting Arab leaders from Egypt, Jordan and Persian Gulf States, that they were also fearful of the Iranian threat. He was right in his statement because Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, the crown prince of Abu Dhabi warned, “Iran will threaten Israel’s existence should it go nuclear.” He called Ahmadinejad a “Hitler”, proposing that “if air strikes will not do the job in Iran the ground troops should be sent in.” Similarly, Saudi King Abdullah wanted the U.S. to “cut off the head of the snake”. Another UAE leader gave his reasons for Iran-bashing by saying that “Iran is establishing ‘sleeper emirates’ across the Muslim world including south Lebanon, Gaza, Kuwait, Bahrain and the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia with the mother of all ‘emirates’ in southern Iraq and now in Yemen.” Similar sentiments were heard from other pro-American leaders in the Arab world. One Israeli official stated, “the Arab countries are pushing United States towards military action more forcefully than Israel”.

As opposed to these reports the American intellectual Noam Chomsky cited a Brookings Institution poll that 80 per cent of Arabs consider Israel as the main threat followed by the U.S. at 77 per cent. Only 10 per cent rated Iran as a danger. He concluded by stating, “When they talk about Arabs, they mean the Arab dictators, not the population, which is overwhelmingly opposed to the conclusions that the analysts-Clinton and the media-have drawn.” According to another report, the Arab rulers “dare follow the American line completely, particularly if this includes a strike against Iran if they did, they’d risk popular revolts”.

I found nothing but Iran-centric Wikileaks in the Jerusalem Post and other Israeli newspapers. They were reminiscent of the “Zimmermann Telegram” during World War I. The declassified documents of history tell us that in early 1917 the British cryptography unit (“Room 40? ) decoded a telegram from German Foreign Minister Arthur Zimmermann to his country’s embassy in Mexico City proposing that the Mexicans launch a war against United States and retake Texas. The British showed the telegram to American diplomats. It prompted the Congress and U.S. President Woodrow Wilson to declare war on Germany which contributed to Germany’s defeat at the end of 1918.

A few months after this episode of the “Zimmermann Telegram” the Bolshevik Revolution took place in Russia. The new leadership wanted to declassify the documents of the Czar’s Foreign Ministry. The task was given to Leon Trosky – the people’s commissar for foreign affairs. One of the documents revealed the 1916 Sykes-Picot Agreement in which Britain and France planned how they would carve up the Ottoman Empire and also promised a hefty slice to Russia which desired Istanbul and the Black Sea straits. What if the secrets were revealed at that time? Would it have changed the history?

The point I am trying to make is that exposure of secrets can influence events if they appear at the right moment, as in the case of the Zimmermann telegram. So what could be the reason for Wikileaks and how will it affect short and long-term relations amongst Muslim countries vis-a-vis pro-Israel lobbies in America. Would Natanyahu be resting in a comfort zone and constantly pressurizing Obama to stop interfering in the internal matters of Israel especially the settlements issue had the ‘missing leak’ been circulated? Here comes the million dollar question. Is there a ‘missing leak’ exposing Israel’s heinous motives despite the leaked documents stating that “there is no Israel lobby involvement to involuntarily force US in a war to serve Jewish interests” and that “the world opinion is wielding towards declaring Iran as the head of a snake that must be cut off as the Saudi potentate described it” Not many would believe in the existence of such a ‘missing leak’. Even my own lawyer daughter thinks I may have misread the news. But deep down, I know what I saw and read that evening. Perhaps 50 years from now this “ticker news” may show up in a slue of declassified documents similar to Zimmerman’s secret telegram. The leaked telegram changed the course of history but the ‘missing leak’ cannot; as long as it remains missing.

Nothing short of a shift in national culture will rescue the soul of Pakistan's Islamic traditions.

In these troubled times of bombings, heat waves and chronic power shortages, millions have flocked to the shrines of the mystic saints, trying to cajole good fortune out of arguably the most unfortunate period in our country's history. No saint is more venerated than Data Gunj Bakhsh, the great mystical Muslim saint of the 11th century, who is buried in Lahore. When twin blasts exploded in his mausoleum they destroyed more than just the lives of 43 people and their families.

A Muslim believes his or her fate is already written. Many will now be wondering what they have done to deserve this punishment. Others, including the Taliban, have immediately blamed foreign powers.

Many blame the US for bringing conflict to their region. This is not entirely misplaced - terrorism has increased, not abated, ever since the Obama administration escalated the "AfPak" conflict against al-Qaeda and the Taliban by ramping up troop numbers and drone strikes.

But, even so, this latest massacre will make even more Pakistanis abdicate responsibility for reforming our society.

Data's shrine has not changed much since I first visited it as a child three decades ago, only now the pacific ambience has been somewhat ruined by the security guards and metal detectors, which did disturbingly little to prevent the attacks. Like the Hajj pilgrimage, a visit to Data's shrine is a humbling experience. Rich and poor, men and women, all mingle amid the crowded mass. Sadly, this also made it the perfect target for a suicide bombing.

It cannot be a coincidence that the attacks came just over a month after the slaughter of about 90 people in two worship places of the Ahmadi minority sect. The fact that both a minority sect and mainstream Sufi Muslims have been targeted proves that our shared Islamic heritage is a threat to those behind the violence.

Hitherto reluctant to expand the military conflict to Punjab, Pakistan's army will feel the pressure of local and international demands to do precisely that. But any response dominated by military means would be a disaster, creating even greater instability and, as more civilians are killed by the army's rough anvil, undoubtedly create more insurgents and leading to more bombings. This is a matter for civil authorities - the provincial and federal government, the police and the courts - to take the lead.

Now more than ever, Pakistan must institute a clear and effective system for the regulation of its religious seminaries, mosques and Islamic welfare organizations. A recent government proposal to restrict coverage of the violence and criticism of the state is a backward step.

True, Punjab has become saturated with welfare fronts for jihadist groups involved in violence here and in other countries. But part of the problem is that Islamic welfare organizations with links to jihadists have stepped in where the state has been absent, providing meals, education and medical services to poor citizens who would otherwise go without.

This does not mean that we are a population of jihadists; rather, that the state has either sat idle or aided Islamists as they deliberately blurred the line between legitimate civil society and militancy. The state must proactively begin the long, slow and difficult process of rolling this back.

As I've argued before, one of the key reasons the public has rallied against the militants is a sense that those behind the attacks are not Islamists or even Pakistanis, but foreigners. This mindset creates a dangerous conspiracy theory culture, but it does have one clear advantage. It is difficult for most to be critical of something that is sacred to them, such as their faith. But in blaming outsiders for the violence, people demonstrate their rejection of violence, which they consider antithetical to Islam. Of course, that rejection is at times somewhat hypocritical.

Lahore has been filled with protests from religious parties, shopkeepers and others after the carnage. On Friday, the mosques were crowded with worshippers listening to their local imams railing against the violence with varying degrees of hyperbole and prescience.

Then there is the voice of Data Gunj Bakhsh, a preacher born in Persia, who went on an astonishing lifelong journey through the Middle East and central Asia before ending his days in Lahore. Lyrical poetry about Data, laced heavily with notions of love, ephemeral beauty and the power of God, and the necessity of humility in worldly affairs, transformed him into a legend for well over 10 centuries. We would do well to honor the spirit behind the verse.

On Thursday nights and early hours of Friday, Data Darbar Complex usually bustles with people: men, women and children, from near and far, out of city visitor.

The bomb attacks took place even though the fact those tight security arrangements were in place in the metropolis, which on the other hand lead to the uneasy feeling that the law enforcers had some aptitude about the risk of a terror strike in Lahore. According to the peoples, police checkes their all kind of baggage, polythen shoppers, even pockets, but why they did not check the heavy explosion terrorists and them easly entered in to shrine. It’s the biggest fault of law enforcement agencies.

In the days earlier the suicide explosions, the Lahore police had conducted house-to-house searches in many city localities, especially in Township area, rounding up scores of people for quizzical. The area around Data Saheb was also combed thoroughly in recent days.

According to details available with reporters only one of the several gates to the shrine was open and everyone who entered was frisked. Yet the terrorists wearing weighty suicide jackets managed to sneak in. The caretakers and other witnesses said one of the two suicide bombers blew himself close to the area where the visitors perform ablutions (wazoo) while a second bomber exploded the mechanism tied to his person in a courtyard inside the shrine complex.

It was also watched in CCTV recording that a terrorist was rushing to target and a caretaker was behind just to capture him. But the terrorist blew himself successfully, peoples who pursued them was came in range of explosion, it cause increase the causalities.

A custodian told to media that given the commandment and regulate in the country, there was this invariable hazards posed to the darbar and those who visited it to seek the Data Saheb’s blessings. He said the occurrence happened even with the fact that security approximately the shrine had been beefed up.

To the people in the street, the shocking terror hit at the darbar, exposed the uselessness of the security apparatus against terrorists who are strong-minded to kill and destruct at any cost. “The matter of domestic unrest is tied to political instability,” commented Azhar Khan, a factory owner who was tremendously disturbed by the news of the explosions. “You can’t have security without political stability.”

And it appeared that the terrorists are determined to slaughter peoples anywhere, the blasts at the holy place removing the (bogus) sense of security that desparate people are wont to utilize as a shield in times dangerous. Until now the feeling had somehow survived that the terrorists had some specific target the enemy in intelligence. If somehow the conjecture is still applicable after the Thursday night’s haphazard aiming at hundreds of faithful gathered at the shrine, it will have to be said that few will be able to claim with any assurance that they are protected from the terrorists’ offensive.

The government did attempt to reinstate public confidence with statements issued in the wake of the attack, but of superior significance on Thursday was the rescue work the government workers undertook along with volunteers. A large number of the injured were taken to Mayo Hospital. Mayo hospital’s Medical Superintendent Dr Zahid Pervez said many of the wounded were in grave condition. Some of the injured were rushed to other government-run hospitals in the city.

As per routine, statements from all the political leaders are come on media, but no further action was taken to stop this series blast line. Government have purchased thousands scanners from china but they are failed to capture the explosion materials.

The grandest room at the government is all spruced up. There are reserved military uniforms decorated with chests full of shining medals, most of the awards handed out are always military awards. The President as well as the Prime Minister of the Republic takes the chairs over the proceedings. National power brokers, political as well as bureaucratic are all assembled. Everything is choreographed to convey a sense of pride.

This is how it should be. After all, it is the country and the state honoring those who they choose to honor. In usual times this should be a day of arrogance and happiness. But these are not ordinary times. These are inclined to be weepy times. And so, was the ceremony this year. It was not destined to be that way, but that is what it turns out to be. It still expresses a sense of pleasure, but it was pride soaked in too many tears.

The event started on a far above the ground note with the swear words in of the new Governor of Gilgit & Baltistan, Dr. Shama Khalid and afterward the merit awards for the military’s top-most nerve. But then came the bravery award, the Sitara-i-Bisalat, and it was as if the room changed in front of us. It was a procession of wives receiving awards for dead husbands who lost their loved ones in abused war against terrorism, mothers and father for dead sons, sons and daughters for lost fathers.

Each a moving prompt of the times we exist in. None more moving than when the immature son of Maj. Mohammad Akbar Shaheed, hardly 6 or 7 years old; came up to receive his father’s award. Decent in a child’s mock military uniform he walked up to the President to give a rapid salute. What might otherwise have been cute was outright heartbreaking. When the President picked up the child to give him an embrace he too was fighting back tears. I do not suppose there was a single person in that enormous hall whose eyes had not filled up. Some like us and at least a couple of the generals sitting next to me were no longer even trying to hold them back.

Afterward, it was the wife of an Army Captain, she is in the Army (Medical Corps), whose uniformed attendance repeating everyone just what cost we are asking our young men and women to disburse for our security from rebels. When the aging mother of one younger Shaheed began walking slowly to the stage and the President walked down to get together and cheer up her. Amongst the very few people who was given a Sitara-i-Basalat The wives of the protectors who died battling the terrorists who attacked Islamabad, the brothers and sons of tribal who were parts of Tribal Lashkars that battled against extremists, the mothers and fathers of policemen’s, too many who died in trying to hold back suicide bombers.

In a sad and solemn way, this was not a simple ceremony to sit through. We all need to sit through this. And to think deep and hard about just what we are living through, even as others are not able to ‘live’ through it.

To be sure, all of them complete us arrogant. But the conceit was soaked in too many tears. I aspiration and I pray that when the ceremony is held once more next year, there are less tears to drop. But let us end on a note of pride without tears.

One of the last people to take delivery of an award was young Ibrar Ahmad Ghazi from Konodass, Gilgit. Who must be in his teens or hardly out of them, place there in an orange T-shirt and black pant with white words and designs printed on it, guiltily jolting as his quotation was read. Hope he realized just how proud he made everyone in that room certainly he made us proud. His tale is one of humankind and responsibility to kindness. He originate himself walking over Konodass deferral bridge over River Gilgit just as two young nursery school girls fell 160 feet into the river. Others looked on them in horror; but young Ibrar Ahmad straight away jumped into the speedy flowing river and saved the both young girls. This was a story of bravery that made one proud. May all our stories of daring have happy endings with joyful pride.

During a secret survey intelligence agencies reported that number of high ranked personnel's are likely to be a part of terrorism in India. Col Prohit is the one of first example. Prohit credited that he is a part of Hindu extremist groups And he feel proud on it. Hemant karkare was just targeted because he arrested the col. Prohit with sound and solid evidence, which can take Prohit in death chamber.

Lt. Col. Srikant Prasad Col. Prohit is a present Indian army officer. A Lieutenant Colonel in military intelligence, he burst into national prominence in November 2008 when he was arrested by the Mumbai Anti-Terrorism Squad’s Chief Hemant Karkare for the reason that they supposed him of participation in terrorist assaults across Western India. He was also a suspect in 2007’s Samjhoota Express bombings until the Indian and U.S. governments announced that Pakistani infiltrator were more likely suspects.

"I have contacted Israel and one of our captains has been to Israel. There has been a very positive response from their side. They have said show us something on the ground because we have just shown them everything on paper right now. They said wait and watch for six months." Terror Master Mind Col. Srikant Col. Prohit.

Suspended Army man and terror master mind Lt Col Prasad Col. Prohit, Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur and Swami Dayanand Pandey are allegedly the key perpetrators of Hindu terror. According to the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) the transcripts of audio video recordings recovered from terror master mind Dayanand Pandey's laptop is evidence enough to prove that Col. Prohit had already kicked off efforts to liaison with establishments in Nepal and Israel to set up a separate Hindu nation.

Col. Prohit is the first serving Indian army officer accused of playing a main role in planning and executing a terror blast. In November, 2008 he said to Pune's Shivaji Nagar court that the Anti terrorist Squad had in danger to get rid of him during his questioning in their custody. He is also suspected of having relations to confrontational Islamist Wahabi groups. In January 2010, Pakistan Interior Minister Rehman Malik accused India of not pursuing the investigation of the Samjhoota Express bombings with sufficient strength, and of refusing to reveal details about Col. Prohit's role. Rehman Malik supposed that Col. Prohit had hired hindutava extremists to transmit out the bombing.

"I had told you that day that two people from Israel had come to us. They sat here and talked for a while and whatever it is they promised to cooperate first." Terror Master Mind Dayanand Pandey alias Sudhakar Dwivedi.

In a meeting which was attended by terror master minds Dayanand Pandey alias Sudhakar Dwivedi, Delhi based Dr R P Singh, a Col Bappaditya Dhar, Himani Sawarkar and others, Col. Prohit is seen and heard saying: "I have contacted Israel and one of our captains has been traveled to Israel. There has been a very constructive reaction from their side. They have said demonstrate us something on the ground because we have just shown them everything on paper right now. They said wait and watch for six months."

On behalf of the council of the Hindu terrorists, Col. Prohit had even managed to settle a couple of deals with his counterparts in Israel. The ATS records show Col. Many army personnel were in the gathering among local residents.

The wounded were taken to nearby CMH, Fauji Foundation Hospital, Services General Hospital & other hospitals. There were reports that the blasts were proceeding by firing but this could not immediately be independently confirmed. Still no confirmation about firing and bullets.
Army soldiers and military police cordoned off the area and barred people and media from going to the site of the blasts. Army has also close all the cantonment entry points and nobody is allowed to go near to blast point.

An emergency was declared in hospitals across Lahore. No group claimed responsibility for the attack. Its also strongly mentioned that only Non-Muslim terrorist have did this all its because a Muslim cant hit any prayer point among Friday prayer.

Lahore has witnessed quite a lot of terrorist attacks since last year arranged by Taliban Indian and afghan terrorist, with most of the attacks targeting government installations and offices of sensitive organizations similar to the Inter-Services Intelligence and Federal Investigation Agency & Special Investigation Agency.

Today's assault was alike to one more terrorist attack last year on a mosque frequented by army personnel in Parade Lane Masjid, Rawalpindi Cantt. A number of senior & junior army and air force officials were killed in that assault.

Other parts of the country have also been shocked by such attacks seeing as the military launched a massive operation against the Taliban stronghold of South Waziristan and FATA Area in October last year. Lots of people have died in these attacks.

The activist are believed to have been behind achieves of attacks in U.S.-allied Pakistan over the last numerous years, as well as a chain of strikes that began in October and lasted around 03 months, killing around 600 people in obvious reprisal for an army offensive along the Afghan border. In additional fresh months, the attacks were minor, smaller quantity and confined to remote regions near Afghanistan.

But on Monday, a suicide or may be a remote control car loaded with explosion material struck a house in Model Town Lahore where police interrogated high value suspects including militants killing at least 13 people and wounding dozens. The fake Pakistani Taliban claimed responsibility. These fake Pakistani Taliban are on payroll of CIA and RAW. They just blast in Pakistan to keep away entire world from Pakistan only.

Also this week, suspected unknown attackers attacked the offices of World Vision, a US based Christian aid group / NGO, in the Mansehra, killing six Pakistani employees, while a bombing at a little, rough and ready movie theatre in the major northwest city of Peshawar killed four people. The assault shows that the loose network of rebellious angry with Islamabad for its coalition with the US and NATO keeps the aptitude to strike throughout Pakistan in spite of stress from army offensives and American drone missile attacks against militant.

The aggression also comes in the middle of signs of a Pakistani crackdown on Afghan Taliban and al-Qaeda operatives using its soil. Among the militants known to have been under arrest is the Afghan Taliban's No. 2 leader, Mulvi Abdul Ghani Baradar.

The Pakistani Taliban, meanwhile, are supposed to have vanished their top commander, Hakimullah Mehsud, in a US Drone missile strike in January. There is another dimension to the burring of some markets with small business. All the fire engines and security cameras are under the control of City Government run by MQM whose leader Altaf Hussain controls this group in a mafia style. Within minutes he blamed ‘Taliban’ for the bombings. How did he know it was Taliban and not Indian RAW or Blackwater/Xe? Altaf Hussain deliberately tried to make this a sectarian issue in his live TV broadcast on a news channel, which matches the agenda of private mercenaries and India.

Asia Times Online reported few years ago during Musharraf era, sources says that, “only US diplomatic intervention stopped General Musharraf from taking strong action against the MQM after he received the report on the recent unrest in which the MQM was implicated. Washington indeed has a powerful southern ally in Pakistan’. After September 11, the United States identified even more with the MQM as it was the only party in Pakistan that widely mourned the attacks on the US, openly condemned the Taliban and al-Qaeda, and launched a powerful campaign in support of the US attack on Afghanistan”.

When President Zardari speak about ‘non state & political actors’, probably he also meant Altaf Hussain too? He said in an interview with a newspaper in 1998, "It is my wish that they take me to trial in a British court then I will tell people nationally and internationally what has been happening in Pakistan." It was Altaf Hussain and MQM who issued a memo to his workers saying,” if there was war between India and Pakistan, MQM workers will be remain neutral”.

The twin blasts, which took place within a radius of 30 metre, also caused a massive fire in a crowded shopping mall known as Moon Market located at Western Lahore’s Town Allama Iqbal Town. The blasts knocked out electricity supply.

Monday’s strike was the second terrorist attack in Iqbal Town. On August 13, a suicide bomber blew himself up at the same market, killing nine people, including two children. Think this site is targeted by militants due to the reason that lots of Film and stage actors are living in this area. This area is also famous for cocotte’s activity.

One of my friends’ son was there for shopping purpose. His driver was sitting in car during the explosion car damaged and driver killed while my friend’s son was missed. Report immediately registered in security agencies. After some of hard efforts his son recovered from the explosion site. Meanwhile the news comes to me from my friend that one of a deaf girl with her mother also killed in this twin blast incident.

Till to now the death toll raised up to 50 as fire-fighters struggled to put out the blaze to rescue the trapped people till late in the night. Fire was very sharp and its also a factor that market has no wide walk ways and roads. In tight streets lots of peoples lost their lives.

Rescue teams retrieved several charred bodies from the building. A number of the injured people taken to different city hospitals were said to be in a critical condition.

According to police, the first blast took place outside a bank and the other near a police station. People ran for their lives as the two blasts took place within a few seconds at about 8.45pm.

Punjab Police SSP (operations) told to reporters that the first blast had been carried out by a suicide bomber. The Iqbal Town SP said police had recovered some body parts, including the head and legs of the suspected bomber. He said police had also seized a damaged motorcycle allegedly used for planting a time device.

However, Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah and senior officials insisted that the blasts could have been triggered remotely. The Commissioner Lahore Khusro Pervez blamed India for the blasts. But the law minister of Punjab Government said that militants from Waziristan were involved.

A number of shops in the market were destroyed and windowpanes of nearby buildings and houses shattered. Dozens of cars and motorcycles were damaged. Most people falling prey to the bloody attacks were either shopping or dining out at the time of the incident.

The blasts were heard in a radius of a few kilometres. Panic gripped the area and all major markets in the city were closed. Traders announced closure of the market on Tuesday in protest against the incident. People accused police of not taking effective precautionary measures despite threats that terrorists could target markets in the city.

‘I was passing through the market when the first blast took place outside the MCB Bank, where people were enjoying their food,’ said Mohammad Qaiser, A resident of Sabzazar Colony. Soon after the blast I found at least 10 people lying on the ground with blood and limbs strewn all around,’ he added.

Imran Hussian, a shopkeeper, said, ‘I was outside the shop when a huge blast shook the entire market. A few seconds later, another explosion was heard on the outskirts of the market.’ He said he and other people ran for their lives. ‘When we returned after some time, we saw the injured screaming and crying for pain. A big fire erupted in the market,’ he said.

Meanwhile, police set up pickets across the city and rounded up several suspects for investigation.

again attacked, now the target was a mosque during Friday prayers. The mosque is located near the Pakistan Army's headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi cantonment area and is surrounded by military houses and is frequented by retired and serving officers.

Between Five and seven armed suicide attackers opened fire on and hurled grenades at the crowd of about 150 worshippers, gathered for prayers in the mosque located on Parade Lane Rawalpindi Cantt. Security forces soon arrived on the scene and killed at least 2 terrorists; the other militants are believed to have blown themselves up. The area around the mosque was cordoned off and the security forces initiated a search for more attackers in the area. Helicopters were also used.

Approximately 37 people were killed instantly; while 61 others were injured, including children. The victims mostly include retired and serving officers. Eyewitnesses reported that the victims were fired at close range and the mosque was badly damaged in the attack. The roof of the mosque has collapsed. No group has claimed responsibility. An eyewitness reported; the worshippers had to pass through "tight security", including metal detectors to enter the mosque. Senior police official Aslam Tarin suggested the attackers may have entered the mosque by scaling the mosque wall.

The attack could have been in retaliation against the Pakistan army's campaign into the Taliban stronghold of South Waziristan.

Yet only Tehreek-e-Taliban claimed the responsibility for this suicide attack. But Pakistan army’s spokesman Major General Athar Abbas rejects and says that he can’t point out anything before investigation. Despite that Tehreek-e-Taliban accept this credibility some questions are raised that talibans are opinionative Muslims and nobody can believe that they can attack on a mosque (Masjid).

If attackers are not Taliban then it’s strongly Suspicion that this incident is only an act of RAW (India), CIA (USA), KHAD (A Dead Horse of Afghanistan) & Mussed (Israel). This is also noticed that attackers have INDO-US made camouflage & weapons. It seems that USA also made terrorism against Pakistan together with India and Israel. Pakistan have to say bye bye this fucking war against terrorism which has not benefits in any manner for Pakistan

Peoples who martyred in this horrible incident are named below: -

Bilal Riaz S/O Major General Nasim Riaz, Ali Hassan S/O Col. Shabbir Hassan, Hassan Shakhraan S/O Col. The leaders of our country are eager to invade and the mainstream media is working tirelessly to create the fear that will allow them do so. The fact that only six corporations dominate our major media outlets, it’s obvious that our information sources serve the interests of the controlling. For that reason, I set out on a trip to Pakistan to find out what is actually going on in that country. Law Forces have arrested lots of diplomatic staff with unofficial weapons in islamabad and then they have been released on high priority calls comes from US Embassy and Ministry of Foriegn Affairs. What I discovered shocked me.

By: Saad Ali
The first stop of my trip was Islamabad, Pakistan, the nationtional capital. Islamabad has now been a victim to many suicide attacks in recent . Thousands of people have been murdered by the hands of the terrorists, aka Black water. Black water has been confirmed by former CIA officials to having over 3,000 operatives present throughout the country. Pakistan’s International News reported on the increasing suspicious movement of foreigners in Peshawar, NWFP, Pakistan. A local resident stated, “What we have been hearing about the presence of Black water or other suspicious foreigners in Peshawar and Pakistan is alarming.” Investigative Journalist, Wayne Madsen, in a Russia Today interview stated, “I’ve been told by private military contract sources that a former British SAS officer is basically putting ads in local newspapers in Pakistan looking to rent compounds for this influx of private military contractors.” Madsen also talked about how three former Pakistani generals have been giving speeches, stating that private military contractors are present in Islamabad and Peshawar.
We all know about the ruthless killings of countless innocent civilians Black water is responsible for in Iraq and Afghanistan. These murderers are loyal to nothing but a paycheck, and their presence in Pakistan has angered many. I set out to find where I can find these mercenaries, and what their agenda is in Pakistan. By talking to different independent media outlets I was able to locate the area which has been allotted to Black water mercenaries in Islamabad (In case you’re wondering, they stay in the F-7 region.) Now it’s not easy getting close to the area because security is extremely tight. Driving by was about as close as I could get.
However, talking to different people about Black water and their agenda opened a lot of doors for me. The US can’t invade Pakistan without a reason. Black water USA has been contracted to destabilize the country and pave a reason to invade. Along with Black water, intelligence agencies CIA (USA), Mussed (Israeli Secret Service Agency), and RAW (Indian Research and Analysis Wing) have been reported to be working in Pakistan as well. Now you’re probably questioning, how would Black water and these agencies destabilize Pakistan? Well they are playing with the ‘terror’ card, like they did in Iraq and Afghanistan. Who is really behind these suicide bombings that occur on a daily basis in Pakistan? In order to answer this, let’s look at the facts.
On September 20, 2008 a dump truck filled with explosives detonated in front of the Marriott Hotel in Islamabad, killing 54 and wounding 266. The media fed us the usual ‘terrorist attack’ story, like they did on 9/11. But according to a report by Tariq Butt of the Saudi Gazette, witnesses said that Marines unloaded a US embassy truckload of steel boxes and shifted them inside the Marriott Hotel on Wednesday, three days before the bombing. It was a high-security operation carried out with both the main gates of the hotel closed. Only the US Marines could approach the truck to unload the steel boxes and shift them inside the hotel. Hotel sources said the boxes were not passed through the scanners installed at the entrance of the lobby and were shifted to the fourth and fifth floors of the Marriott.
Incidents like the Marriott Hotel bombing occur on a daily basis in Pakistan. Circumstantial evidence proves the fact that Black water and other intelligence agencies are heavily involved in these bombings, and are using them to destabilize the country and create a scare by pointing the blame to the so called ‘extremists.’ Recently, Peshawar was victim to a devastating bomb blast in which 117 innocent Pakistani’s were killed. Local news agency NNI has reported that Hakimullah Mehsud, the Chief of the Pakistani- Pashtun Movement in Pakistan, has blamed Black water for the bomb blast. Mehsud claimed that “Black water and Pakistani agencies are involved in attacks in public places to [maliciously] blame the militants.”
Black water and other intelligence agencies are playing their cards differently throughout the country. In some parts, including Islamabad, they created a war between the militants and the government. In others, however, we see a war between Shias and Sunnis. This topic takes me to my next stop, Dera Ismail Khan, Pakistan. This city has seen more bomb blasts than any other city in the country. Over 4,000 people have been killed in the last few years. As I entered the city I was in complete shock from what I saw. What was once a peaceful, growing city was now a chaotic police state. The military roamed the streets fully armed with machine guns and tanks. Soldiers with AK-47’s were stationed on every corner of the city. All schools and universities were shut down, and we were living under a curfew. I had to watch my back 24/7 with the worry that a bomb could explode, or someone, out of nowhere, would start shooting innocent people.
Most days, while reporting, people would tell me to go home and stay safe; there has been a bomb threat. I could sense the tension between the Sunnis and the Shiites everywhere I went. Many sources told me that a war was created between the two sects. What confused me was that Sunni’s and Shiites have lived in Pakistan for decades, and have never fought like this. Why have they begun to kill each other now? I spoke with Sunni and Shiite leaders, and both agreed that a third party is involved.
Immediately, I thought of Black water’s involvement in the Sunni/Shiite war in Iraq. I then spoke with local media outlets and party leaders about Black water, and like I had predicted, they confirmed their presence. Black water is out there buying and recruiting terrorists. According to locals I spoke with, Black water is recruiting by offering money to poverty stricken individuals for carrying out missions. These recruits are completely blind to what they will commit. For example, a paid recruit could be assigned to deliver a package, that package would then automatically detonate along the way, successfully completing the mission. I spoke with former members of the Taliban, and they said, “These bomb blasts are not the work of Muslims willingly killing themselves along with hundreds of brothers, sisters, and children. Pakistan has been stained with bloodshed by the hands of Black water, Mussed, CIA, and Raw.”
The reason we have not heard much about Black water in Pakistan, is because journalists in the country are being silenced for speaking out. A recent example of this is that of Dr. Shireen Mazari, a respected journalist for The News and a defense analyst. Two months back, Dr. Mazari’s weekly column was censored when she exposed the presence of Black water mercenaries in Pakistan. According to Crescent Online, US Ambassador to Pakistan, Anne Patterson, accused Dr. Mazari of spreading “wildly incorrect” information that had “compromised the security of Americans.” I spoke with a journalist (for security purposes, he wished to remain anonymous) in Islamabad, Pakistan, about why journalists are being silenced. He said, “Saying the word ‘Black water’ is a crime for journalists, there is no code of conduct, they’ll either kill you or your family, it’s that simple.” He told me how Black water has supreme authority in Pakistan, because of the corrupt government. The so called ‘democratic’ government of Pakistan has been sold to the interests of the New World Order. There is no law or order coming from Islamabad. The politicians, the media, and the military officials are puppets being pulled by President Obama and his handlers.
President Obama once said, “I have great respect for the Pakistani people.” Murdering over 800 reported innocent Pakistani men, women, and children Mr. President is not respect. The media jumped all over the fact that we successfully killed leading Taliban militant, Baitullah Mehsud, but barely touched on the hundreds murdered along the way. D.I. Khan is now home to many of the surviving refugees from Waziristan. I had the opportunity to speak with these individuals about their situation and feelings towards this heinous crime. Hamid Abdullah, a refugee barely surviving, lost his wife and children in the attacks. In his native tongue, Pashto, he said, “America has been ruthless to us, they have killed our families and we have nothing left, but our faith in Allah. Obama believes his plan will succeed, however, in the words of the Holy Qur’an, Although they plan, Allah also plans. And Allah is the Best of Planners.” Abdullah and others currently live in refugee camps whose conditions are the worst of the worst.
What is the real reason behind this agenda to deteriorate Pakistan? In order to put the puzzle pieces together, let’s start by looking at what the media and our leaders are feeding us. To start off, PNAC signer, Richard Holbrook, has urged the absolute necessity for passing the Kerry-Lugar bill, the 5 year $1.5 billion aid package given to Pakistan to help fight the so called “war on terror”. Furthermore, an article from the Huffing ton Post, reports that advisors to President Obama’s administration say their worst security nightmare is the possibility that Pakistan — a nuclear-armed country — might fall under the control of Al-Qaeda militants. Lastly, PNAC contributor Henry Sokolski, in an article, implies that Pakistani-Chinese relations pose a threat to the world, and that something must be done to suppress it. Further investigating these assumptions reveals a far larger picture from what they are showing us.
The Kerry-Lugar bill drafted by Senate Foreign Relations Committee chairman John Kerry and ranking Republican Richard Lugar, authorizes a grant of $1.5 billion annually for 5 years. The bill explicitly and falsely states that “Pakistan has been a nuclear proliferators; and that parts of its territories are safe havens for terrorist networks.” The bill gives President Obama the power to “develop a comprehensive interagency regional security strategy to eliminate terrorist threats and close safe havens in Pakistan, by working with the government of Pakistan — to best implement effective counterinsurgency and counterterrorism efforts in and near the border areas of Pakistan and Afghanistan, including the FATA, the NWFP, parts of Balochistan and parts of Punjab.” In other words, the President of the United States’ power has now been extended to the different provinces of Pakistan. He may now make decisions for not only the US, but also for the sovereign state of Pakistan. The Kerry-Lugar bill will successfully end Pakistan’s sovereignty. The people are very angered by it, in fact it is known in Pakistan as the “document of surrender.”
Pakistan is one of the few sovereign nations with nuclear power and it has been increasingly evident that the globalists wish to suppress it. The media has created this false scare among the American public that the so called “terrorists” are living freely in Pakistan, and they will overthrow the deteriorating government and establish Pakistan as a state sponsor of terrorism. So therefore, America must invade Pakistan, and stabilize the situation, before the ‘terrorists’ get their hands on the nuclear weapons. An example of this would be Fredrick W. Kagen’s article for the New York Times, he writes, “As the government of Pakistan totters, we must face a fact: The United States simply could not stand by as a nuclear-armed Pakistan descended into the abyss.” The fact of the matter is; Pakistan is suffering the effects of a U.S. led war. Why invade a sovereign country that has neither threatened nor attacked the United States?
The next threat to the agenda for the New World Order lies behind the growth of Pakistani and Chinese relations. In order for China to sustain its status as the emerging economic superpower, it must take all the necessary steps required in order to have sufficient energy resources for the near future. According to Pakistani think tank, Brass-Tacks, Chinese interests in the Indian Ocean became visible in 2002, when they invested heavily and began work on the Gwadar Port, located in Balochistan, a province of Pakistan. The Gwadar Port has its benefits for both Pakistan and China. According to Abdus Sattar Ghazali, executive editor for American Muslim Perspective, “The cost benefits to China of using Gwadar as the port for western China’s imports and exports are as evident as the long-term economic benefits to Pakistan of Gwadar becoming a port for Chinese goods.” Not only does Gwadar enable China to fulfill its energy needs, but it will also provide a strategic military footprint in the Arabian Sea, which has the United States worried.
In order to halt this, the globalists need to block China’s access to the Arabian Sea by way of Gwadar. According to Brass-Tacks, to do this, “there needs to be a ‘new Pakistan’ as indicated in Operation Enduring Turmoil.” Operation Enduring Turmoil is PNAC’s plan to disassemble Pakistan into three parts. According to a “game plan” drawn out by Lt. Col. Ralph Peters, in a 2006 article of the Armed Forces Journal, “Pakistan’s Northwest Frontier tribes would be reunited with their Afghan brethren [and] would also lose its Baluch territory to Free Balochistan. The remaining ‘natural’ Pakistan would lie entirely east of the Indus, except for a westward spur near Karachi.” With this done, what was once the NWFP, a province of Pakistan, is now part of Afghanistan, and what was once Balochistan, a province of Pakistan, is now its own state, Free Balochistan. This would force China to impossibly go through Afghanistan and Free Balochistan in order to reach the Arabian Sea. Such an arrangement would cut China’s route to the Arabian Sea. See the map below for a detailed summary of the plan.
Pakistan has become a product of the New World Order. The agenda has been outlined, and is in effect as we speak. The country has been invaded from all ends and the people have been silenced. My trip to Pakistan answered so many questions I had about the region. Seeing the destruction of Pakistan with my own eyes really blew me away. I realize that after Pakistan, they will move along to another region and continue their plan for a New World Order. What we see happen in these countries will very well happen here in America, some of which we have already seen. The destruction of these countries are not only accomplishing an agenda, but are also being used as testing grounds. We need to get out there and expose the New World Order agenda before it is too late. I hope my report answered questions that you might have had, and gave you a broader scope on what is actually going on in Pakistan. Keep fighting the New World Order and may god be with us all.

Before a few years back a majority of peoples are in total favor of Taliban due to America and Pervez Musharraf’s activity against Pakistan and Afghanistan. After 2008’s elections Talibans was also thinking that government of Pakistan will end foreign melding, but this hope dead only in few months after the general elections when everyone noticed that newly born government is also going on the same with full speed on which musharraf’s cabinet act according the direction of United States.

As the Pakistani security forces have launched a considerable operation on the bastion of the Pakistani Taliban and their foreign affiliates, the question haunting everyone, predominantly the government and the military, is whether after reclaiming South Waziristanaq Agency, the trouble of the Taliban militancy and extremism / terrorism would be solved conclusively.

The respond could be in the unhelpful because Talibanisation, contrary to popular belief, does not exclusively have to do with South Waziristan Agency, Baitullah Mehsud (early murdered in a Drone Attack), Hakimullah Mehsud (replaced Ameer of TTP after the death of Baitullah Mehzud) and so on. It is an ideological conflict and once its perpetrators are defeated in South Waziristan, they would find a new base in some other part of the country, not necessarily the Federally Administered Tribal Areas. Nevertheless, the South Waziristan offensive is an important milestone in the war against religious extremism and terrorism in the country.

Now if the military offensive is successful in the intelligence that the majority of thousands of Pakistani Taliban, al-Qaeda, Uzbek, Tajik, Arab and Chechen fighters etc. currently holed up in the Mehsud area of South Waziristan agency are either killed or captured then the offensive would go a long way to counter extremism and terrorism in the country. Because, without a doubt, the area is the largest stamping grounds for militants of various shades of ethnic & national backgrounds. So, recapturing the territory and bringing the terrorists and extremists to justice would set an example for the militants in other areas and split the links critical for their survival.

Another measure for gauging the success of the South Waziristan Agency operation would be that whether after reclaiming the area, the military denies it to the militants and terrorists in future. But this is a gigantic task and only an unmistakable successful military operation, followed by a considerable development drive in the area, could achieve it.

However, there are sufficient chances that the Pakistani Taliban and their foreign affiliates coming under severe pressure from the security forces operation would head for other areas of the country. In fact, the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan has devised a strategy that when coming under attack and pressure in South Waziristan Agency, the movement would spread to the rest of Pakistan, as it is a matter of survival. In case the militants move to other areas, it would spell disaster for the country. Because in comparison to a very limited war theatre in South Waziristan Agency, it would be impossible for the state to fight the militants in various areas of the country.

The possibility of militants spreading out is fairly strong against backdrop of the fact that most of the Pakistani Taliban in South Waziristan Agency are non-locals, mostly from the Punjab, NWFP and Kashmir. There are only a small number of hundred local Taliban really committed to the TTP. The majority of the Taliban present in Waziristan Agency are now either Uzbeks or from the Punjab. So, obviously, once under attack, these non-local militants have the choice to return to their respective areas or die in conflict against forces. Its also noticed that the countries will not accept there return in their homeland that’s why Uzbek, Tajik, Chechan, Afghan and Arab Taliban will accept to die instead to return in their respected homeland countries. This could be termed a tactical retreat on the part of the Taliban fighters and one should keep in mind that they believe in such retreat, considering it religiously permitted. This means that they may retreat to their respective areas, but as soon as they find opportunities, they would start either a local militant struggle in their own areas or in some other area where their 'brothers in arms' would find a base.

Although there are new and young fighters among those from the Punjab who joined the TTP in the first instance, yet most of the Punjabi Taliban, now part of the TTP, have been members of other banned militant and sectarian organizations. However, with the passage of time, these militant and sectarian organizations started combine with a common agenda of fighting against India in Kashmir. Furthermore, the most dangerous part of their agenda became the establishment of a clerical order in the country to realize an 'Islamic' state.

This sectarian and militant background of the Punjabi Taliban that feed on anti-India sentiments encouraged these organizations to restart their erstwhile activities. As these activists used to be based in the Punjab, there is a threat of a new wave of radicalization of the province. This does not augur well for the country and its future. Because, the Pashtun Taliban, who hosted the Punjabi and Kashmiri militants for long, would now expect of the Punjabi Taliban to provide them sanctuary in their areas.

The recent interview of Hakimullah Mehsud, released by Sky TV UK, is relevant here. Hakimullah Mehsud said that he would send his Talibans to the country's eastern border to fight Indian troops, once "an Islamic state is created in Pakistan". These are important words and one can understand there from what is on the mind of this militant commander and the other militants currently. The militants wanted to utilize the anti-Indian sentiments in the country, particularly its establishment, by offering to fight the country's archrival. Moreover, the statement of Hakimullah also shows what the ultimate objective of the militants is. It is establishing their concept of Islamic Shariah (Laws) in the country. The words of the militant commanders could also be interpreted in the sense that they are now eyeing the eastern border of Pakistan, alluding to the Punjab. Already, the militant attacks in Lahore and the army headquarters in Rawalpindi point towards the fact that the Punjabi Taliban are returning to their home province and launching attacks to enlarge the war zone. Only time would reveal whether they would be successful or not.

Something hot arranged by US / NATO Forces in Afghanistan, it’s wisely noticed that US / NATO Forces leaves empty their Check posts in Afghan Eastern Province Kantar before the start of Operation Raah-e-Raast by Pakistan Army. various peoples thinking that, this could be a gateway for Taliban to enter in to South Waziristan Agency or may run Taliban to Afghanistan to save their lives. Pakistan has already record its protest against this action taken by US / NATO Forces.

Here is a unique and informed take on Iran’s system of government. It shows how a few people at the top in Tehran revived the pride of a demoralized nation. Reading this will also provide perspective to the intense Am-Brit anti-Iran campaign.

A Must Watch Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRwUZ-u6KFo

By M. AKRAM ZAKI
Wednesday, 17 June 2009.

TEHRAN, Iran—It is a great honor for me to be invited to the brotherly Islamic country, Iran which is so close to my heart and which is loved and respected by the people of Pakistan. Iran and Pakistan are bound together by geography, culture, shared history and common faith. They also have a common destiny to live in freedom, with honor and dignity, rejecting all forms of foreign domination. We, in Pakistan, value Iran’s friendship and seek to build a multi-dimensional and a comprehensive relationship with Iran. Together, we can safeguard regional peace and security and ensure progress and prosperity to our people.

It is a special privilege to have the opportunity of paying my humble tributes to the memory of the great Leader of the history-making Islamic Revolution of Iran.

Twenty years ago on June 3, 1989 the great spiritual, intellectual and political Leader of the Glorious Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Ruhollah Musavi Khomeini, having completed his earthly Mission, departed for his Heavenly abode, to rejoin Almighty Allah, whose divine message of love and justice he preached and practiced in this world. His grateful nation and people, whom he liberated from foreign domination and taught how to live in freedom with dignity and honor, remember the great Imam with gratitude and salute his memory. So do the downtrodden and oppressed of the world whose cause he supported.

I, as an admirer of the great Leader of the Islamic Revolution, add my humble tribute and salam.

A study of the life of Imam Khomeini reveals that the Divine Providence had carefully nurtured, prepared and groomed him from early life for the great role he was destined to play in his later years, after the age of sixty, when most men tend to phase out of active life.

He was born in a family of religious scholars and named Ruhollah. His father and mother were both from families of religious leaders. His father, Ayatollah Seyyed Mutafa Mousavi, died when he was only 5 years old, but his religious education was continued, initially, under his brother and later under a great teacher Ayatollah Najab Karim Yazdi at Arak and Qum.

During the 1960s, in a bi-polar word dominated by two super powers, engaged in a cold war to control the resources and the destiny of other countries, Imam Khomeini became a strong opponent of colonialism and imperialism, which he condemned on moral and ethical grounds. He especially resented USA’s domination over Iran and became a strong critic of the Shah of Iran.

In January 1963, he started open opposition to the so called “White Revolution’ and [the Iranian government’s] programme of further westernistion. On the fate of the poor people of the Third World, including Iran the great Imam came to the conclusion, as written in his book Hikmat-e-Islami (Valyat-e-Faqih) that ”The laws of society should be made up only of the Laws of God (Sharia) which cover all human affairs and provide guidance and establish norms for every aspect of human life.”

Imam Khomeini’s real turbulent political career had started on June 3, 1963, when he took a bold stand based on moral and ethical grounds. Michael Axworthy writes in his book, A history of Iran, the following:
“On the afternoon of ‘Ashura (June 3, 1963), Khomeini delivered a speech at the Feyziyeh madrasah drawing parallels between the infamous tyrant Yazid and the Shah, denouncing the Shah as a “wretched, miserable man,” and warning him that if he did not change his ways the day would come when the people would offer up thanks for his departure from the country.”

On June 5, 1963, (15 of Khordad), two days after this public denunciation of the Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, Khomeini was arrested. This sparked three days of major riots throughout Iran and led to the deaths of some 400. That event is now referred to as the Movement of 15 Khordad. Khomeini was kept under house arrest and released in August”

Coincidentally, his eventful and remarkable earthly political career also ended twenty six years later in 1989 on June 3.

Opposition to Capitulation
During November 1964, Imam Khomeini denounced both the Shah and the United States, this time in response to the “capitulations” or diplomatic immunity granted by the Shah to American military personnel in Iran.

The “status-of-forces agreement” allowed members of the U.S. armed forces in Iran to be tried in their own military courts. This was denounced as Shah’s “capitulation” before the USA, Imam Khomeini was arrested in November 1964 and held for half a year. Later, he was exiled. During the 14 years of his exile, he continued his struggle against the Shah regime and remained in contact with his people and continued to guide them through his tape recorded messages and speeches.

He enlightened their minds, illuminated their souls, fired their imaginations, aroused their emotions, lit the flames of freedom in their hearts and inspired them to fight with courage and determination, for their liberation from foreign domination and Shah’s tyranny.

Finally, the Shah had to flee from Iran in January 1979, and Imam Khomeini returned home in triumph and received tumultuous welcome by teeming millions as the Savior and Supreme Leader. He laid the foundation of the Islamic Republic of Iran and began to consolidate the gains of the Islamic Revolution. Religious and Spiritual welfare of the people was declared to be the main purpose of the state.

Imam Khomeini defined politics as follows:
“Politics is that it should guide the society, find its way, consider all the interests of society, and guide them to that which is for their welfare.”

“Politics means management of the country based on the religious and spiritual welfare of the people.”
He built a new society based on Islamic spiritual, moral and ethical foundations. He also advocated that like politics, International relations should also be conducted on moral and ethical principles.

Foreign Policy Principles

Imam Khomeini attached great importance to truth, morality, justice, fair play and idealism. Ethical and moral values were regarded as very important in matters of foreign policy. He was an idealist. He advised that basic values and basic realities should be kept in view. Bridges can be built between ideals and facts. It is important to strengthen capability of living up to ideals.

He advocated an independent foreign policy, his formula regarding two power blocs led by two super powers was “No East, No West”. Hence no reliance on great powers. Other important foreign policy principles of The Imam are:

Defending and maintenance of Islamic system, expansion of Islam
‘The establishment of Islamic community, and emphasis of unity and integrity of Muslims nations and Islamic integrity and unity.
Preservation of the existence and territorial integrity of the country, and observing the long-term interests of the system;
Opposition to arrogance, hegemonism and power politics,
• Fighting against oppressor and supporting the oppressed.
Expression of sympathy to the downtrodden of the world and inviting them to unite with one another;
Strategic campaign against the regime occupying AL-QUDS
Harmonious coexistence and forging of equitable and friendly relations with countries of the world and negation of isolationism;
Introduction of Islam as a comprehensive, perfect and practical religion
Major issues of practical diplomacy will now be discussed briefly to show how these principles were applied in real diplomacy.

The Iran Hostage Crisis

On October 22, 1979 the United States admitted the exiled and ailing Shah into the country for cancer treatment. In Iran there was an immediate outcry with both Imam Khomeini and leftist groups demanding the Shah’s return to Iran for trial and execution.

On November 4, Islamist students took control of the American Embassy in Tehran, holding 52 embassy staff hostage. This lasted for 444 days. In America, the hostage-taking was seen as a flagrant violation of international law and aroused intense anger and anti-Iranian feeling. In Iran the take over was immensely popular and earned the support of Imam Khomeini under the slogan “America can’t do a damn thing against us”.

Imam Khomeini took a bold stand against the United States. Pope John Paul wrote a letter expressing concern for the ‘increase of tension’ between the United States and Iran, asking the Imam to use his ‘authoritative influence’ to bring about a solution.

The Imam again acted with courage and, in his reply to the Pope, he relied on truth and moral and ethical principles. He told the pope that “our militant, noble nation took such cutting-off of relations as a good omen and celebrated it with rejoicings and illuminations” and that “the day will be dangerous for our people on which relations such as those existing during the former treacherous regime are re-established”

He then requested that the leader of the world’s Catholics to uphold the truth and “warn the US government of the consequences of its tyrannies, imposition of force and plundering, and advise Mr. Carter, who is confronted with final defeat, to treat the nations, which want absolute independence and do not want to be affiliated with any power in the world, according to humane criteria, to follow the teachings of Christ (may God’s blessings be on him) and not expose himself and the US government to further scandal.”

The Imam also boldly stated the truth to the Pope that the US embassy was a den of spies and that some Christian priests were acting as spies, which was not correct even according to their own religion.

Soviet Intervention in Afghanistan

Imam Khomeini regarded both super powers as evil. He had clearly laid down the policy “No East, No West”. Hence no reliance on great powers.

In December 1979, when the former Soviet Union invaded a neighboring Muslim country, Afghanistan, Iran condemned the action and, like other nations, helped the Afghan people’s struggle. Iran’s stand was according to Imam’s principle of “Fighting against the oppressor and supporting the oppressed.” Iran, like Pakistan, also played host to millions of Afghan refugees, who were also fellow Muslims in distress.

The great Imam clearly foresaw that the Soviet Union was crumbling from within under the burden of hopeless war, it was destined to lose. President Gorbachev was making desperate efforts to save the Soviet Union through various reforms.

In December 1988, Imam Khomeini sent a delegation to Moscow to deliver his famous letter to Gorbachev. The Imam wrote:
“If you wish to put an end to the economic woes of socialism and communism by simply resorting to the core of capitalism, you will not ease the pains prevalent in the Soviet society,” for communism will be relegated to the “museums of the world’s political history, since Marxism cannot meet any of the real needs of human beings.”
He told Gorbachev that the Western world only seemed more appealing compared to the crumbling communism of the East, and warned him “not get trapped in the prison of the West and the Arch-Satan, while pulling down the iron curtains of Marxist idealism.”.

The Imam then offered to open a dialogue on the future of the Soviet people, urging Gorbachev , to rethink the Soviet policies on religion and state-mandated atheism, to free the churches and mosques, and to allow the calls to prayer to once again ring through the air.

The letter to Gorbachev and the meeting with Shevardnadze soon thereafter at Tehran are important because the Imam sets the terms of the dialogue, without making demands or conditions.

Iran-Iraq War
Shortly after assuming power, Khomeini began calling for Islamic revolutions across the Muslim world including Iran’s Arab neighbor Iraq, the one large state besides Iran with a Shia majority population.

In September 1980 Iraq, with the help and encouragement from USA, launched a full scale invasion of Iran, starting what became later the eight-year-long Iran–Iraq War (September 1980 – August 1988). When aggression was committed Iran offered fierce resistance against the aggressor and by early 1982 Iran regained almost all the territory lost to Iraq. The invasion rallied Iranians behind the new regime, enhancing Imam Khomeini’s stature and allowed him to consolidate and stabilize his leadership.

Although outside powers supplied arms to both sides during the war, yet the West wanted to be sure the Islamic revolution did not spread to Iran’s smaller oil-exporting neighbors in the oil rich Persian Gulf.

The war continued for another six years. In 1988 Iraq launched deadly month-long missile attacks and used chemical weapons on Iranian cities including Tehran. The noble Imam made a distinction between Iraqi people and the hated Saddam regime; on moral and ethical grounds he did not allow Iran to bomb Iraq’s cities. For the same reason Iran did not use chemical weapons either.

However, due to heavy losses in human and material terms, and mounting attacks by the American Navy on Iranian ships and oil rigs in the Persian Gulf, in July 1988, Imam Khomeini, accepted a truce mediated by the United Nations. When aggression started the Imam fought with full determination. When the real opportunity for peace presented itself, he chose peace.

Conclusion
The Islamic Revolution of 1979, led by Imam Khomeini has greater historical significance than the French Revolution of 1789, the Soviet Revolution of 1917, and is of an equal importance to the Chinese Revolution of 1949.
The French and the Soviet Revolutions were meant to bring changes within the Materialistic Western Civilization, which had been dominating other Civilizations for the last few centuries. The Chinese Revolution had a greater significance than the other two, because it meant the rise of a non- western Civilization to the status of an important player on the world stage.

The Islamic Revolution means that another non-western Civilization has emerged on world’s political scene to play its distinct role. But real difference, which makes the Islamic revolution unique and more important, is the Spiritual dimension ie the Divine Law as its source and the Universality of its message. Today’s mankind, tired of too much greed and exploitation, needs to seek happiness by rebuilding the Society on spiritual foundations.

Mr. Zaki is Pakistan’s former Ambassador of Pakistan to Beijing and Washington.
