Now believe it or not one of the best places to farm gold in world of Warcraft now that cataclysm has dropped is from a Burning Crusade heroic, namely heroic Magister Terrace.
Once a damn hard heroic it is now easily enough put on farm mode. Why in the world would you farm for gold in Heroic Magisters Terrace you might ask? Simple.

1. Easy. At level 85 H MGT is a breeze.
2. More epic patterns than you can shake a sword at. Patterns for the Gloves of living touch, Cobrascale Gloves & the Netherdrake gloves to name a few. These work only if you can craft them because they are BOP. If you can craft them they can make you a large amount of gold especially in the level 70 twink market.
3. Tons of BOE items as well drop from this gold farm, I mean former heroic. Adamantite Weapon Chain, Unyielding Bracers, etc, etc.

It’s not to far fetch to imagine an average 1k run per instance if you include all the enchant mats and BOE items H MGT is definitely worth the work

Cataclysm Leveling Guide - WOW leveling guides in Cataclysm

Well it’s been quite some time since last this site was updated but without further delay let’s get to talking about cataclysm leveling guides and whether or not they are still necessary with the built in quest tracking blizzard provides.

First and foremost let me say blizzard did a pretty good job at marking where quests are and where they need to be turned in. In almost all cases the built in World of Warcraft quest guide is accurate. The benefits of their new system clearly crap on what they previously had...which was pretty much nothing.

The question then is, “DO you need a World of Warcraft leveling guide for cataclysm?”

The answer still remains yes.

The beauty of a World of Warcraft leveling guide was never the map icons. Don’t get me wrong they were/are a great thing and make leveling a breeze. No, what you’re really benefiting from when you get a World of Warcraft leveling guide is the LEVELING PATH; in other words the most efficient way to complete quests in order to level the fastest. With literally thousands of quests in World of Warcraft it’s very easy to simply finish quests after quest and trudge along killing and basically wandering around with no real goal beyond leveling. Don’t get me wrong, you will level you will get gold and you will EVENTUALLY make it to level 85. The issue here isn’t leveling its leveling speed and THAT is what a good leveling path provides.

Now you might have leveled 100’s of characters in the past the difference now is that cataclysm has pretty much changed everything in Azeroth. Cataclysm leveling guides provide you with all new quest paths. Paths that have been tried, tested, optimized and made available for you. Speed my friend, speed is what Cataclysm leveling guides are bringing to the table. After personally using zygor to level several characters from 1-85 and then testing out what a typical no guided run to level 85 is like I can attest for a 4 day play time drop in leveling time.

Only 4 days you say? That’s 96 hours of game time. A little math and that’s 3.2 hours of in game time in addition to the 4-6 days game time you’ll get with a guide. Do you get that. Without a guide you’re looking at roughly 11 days of play time to get to end game activities.

11 days.
That’s 264 hours.
IF you played for 8.8 hours a day you’d do that in 30 days.
4.4 hours in 60 days
2.9 in 90 days
3 months of 3 hours a day to get to level 85.

Now let’s look at the 120 hours you can get safely with a leveling guide.

That’s 4 hour a day for 30 days
2 hours a day for 60 days
1.33. hours a day for 90 days.

In a nut shell you’re leveling time is quite literally cut in half.

Are World of Warcraft leveling guides still relevant in Cataclysm?

Only if you like leveling twice as fast as you normally would.

I’ve decided to stop using the words...BEST World of Warcraft Guide because I’ve found that the guides are always on changing and implementing new technologies, for instance Zygor Leveling Guides new Smart Injection Techonology which allows you to basically plug in a character at any level and start using the guide without fumbling around.

What I will say is BEST World of Warcraft Guide team. After having used and promoted both Zygor and Dugis, which are definitely the two most accurate and speedy wow leveling guides available I have, after much debate and comparison, taking into account several factors (originality, implementation, community, response, commitment to excellence, etc) decided that Zygor Guides has displayed a certain degree of “MIND NUMBING AWESOMENESS” in regards to their leveling guides that makes me have to say they are deserving of the Warcraft Leveling Guide Crown.

A few simple things stick out about Zygor Guides...

1. Originality. From the beginning Zygor guides has pushed the envelope when it comes to new ideas. In game leveling guides, auto quest tracking, taxi cab arrows, smart injection, deathknight starting zone guide, etc, etc. Zygor has his ear to the ground and is always out there putting oout new USEFUL updates on a consistant basis.

2. They are players...not salesmen. I’m an internet marketer AND a Warcraft player so I can spot “internet marketers” pretending to be wow players and wow players giving their opinion. I give my opinion more or less daily at http://www.nomorenoob.com, I walk the walk and talk the talk. There are guides out there that, if you pay close attention, use stock photos, they cannibalize other guides and simply “re-make” them to “new fresh guides” or steal ideas and market them.

Personally I’d rather help out a fellow wowhead than some guy who saw that they could make a quick buck pushing “wow guides”. That’s just me though. Not that other guides aren’t created by wow players, just that I know some of them aren’t. I’ll not give names no the ones that aren’t, I will say that ZYGOR is legit though.

3. Speed. Simply put getting to 80 is fastest when using Zygor guides, period. No if ands or buts. Zygor has THE premier leveling guide speeds because their quest route is time tested and optimized, obviously others can copy this, but having seen the Warcraft guide business “bloom” I suspect I know where other guides got their routes from.

4. It’s cheap. The small fee you’ll pay for this guide pays for itself. Don’t believe me? Open up a craigslist in your city and in the search box type “Warcraft” now look at how many accounts are on sale...$200, $400, $800 in some instances for what Zygor is practically giving away.

The latest in Dugis WOTLK Leveling guides was recently unleashed and it’s seen amazing results. They recently put out their WOTLK Dailies Quest Guide, which is basically an addition to their leveling guide addon.

I suppose it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to use the same skills Dugis used in creating their leveling guide to create a very unique WOTLK Dailies guide. Guess what? It didn’t take a rocket scientist and that’s exactly what the Dugis team did. They took the experience they had from creating one of the games best leveling guides and threw all that knowledge at a WOTLK Dailies guide.

Deathknight Leveling Guide and a 6 Year Old

I’ve made the claim over and over again that Deathknights are grossly OP and I’ve made the claim that getting a leveling guide for your Deathknight was a smart move, I will now tell you a story that will tie them both together.

I am a father of 4 with a 15 year old who love’s World of Warcraft. I also have a 6 year old who has been playing since he was just a week over 5. Now when I say playing I mean grinding Ore for daddy. Yeah it’s me taking advantage, but the way I see it he loves the idea of beating up Boars in Outlands and farming fel iron for me, so who am I to get in the way of his happiness?

About 2 weeks my oldest son decided to show my younger son that he could start a deathknight, so he did and now I lost my grinder :(.

Did you know that a 6 year old can effectively use Dugis wow leveling guide to take a horde DK from start to level 65 in a little less than 2 weeks while only playing an hour and a half a day, with 2 hours max on the weekend? WITH NO HELP FROM DADDY other than picking which add ons to use? Now if a 6 year old can manage this ALL WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO READ imagine what someone who can read will be able to accomplish. Seriously my son has gone through the guide step by step and all with no help. What do you suppose that says about the strength Dugis leveling guides? So on to the OVERPOWEREDNESS of death knights.

Here’s how I know a Death knight is overpowered.

MY 6 YEAR OLD consistently ranks in the top 5 for either damage, HK, or Killing blows in every BG he’s done. Oh it’s grand to watch him chew people up in BG. My older son and I will watch him play sometimes and just laugh. Just this weekend I told my oldest, “do you suppose I should tell the 2 guys your brother just soloed that they got rocked by a 6 year old who can’t read and literally spammed keys 1-6?”

Not that my 6 year old isn’t good at BG’s, but trust me when I say he’s not following any previously established “Skill rotation”. So what does this tell me? Well it tells me that quite literally ANYONE can throw some blues on a DK and open up a PWN shop in any BG, even in AV.

What mystifies me still is that even when other DK’s (I’m assuming being controlled by NON-six year olds) are in the same BG they fall below my 6 year old? Seriously guys what are you doing?

That has me wondering then, if other people, who I’m assuming are older than 6 years old, are playing in the same BG against the same competition and my 6 year old son is still outperforming them does that mean my 6 year old is doing something right?

I guess I’ll have to monitor his strategy a little more closely from now on to pick up on his PVP technique and steal a move or two.

Zygor Guides 3.1 Review

Every once in a while I’ll go back to revist a guide because things have changed so drastically or because it’s been a while since I’d left any information and a lot of people get stuck trying to find the right post entry and such. So today I’ll take a look at Zygor Guides 3.1 patch leveling guide. I have a history with this guide and out of all the guides I’ve tried inevitably I always come back to Zygor. So here’s the most up to date review of Zygor’s Guide. (You can get a 30 day trial HERE)

After having leveled several alts to 60, 70 and 80 I’ve come to one conclusion, leveling sucks. It’s hard, confusing, lonely work and I hate it. I hate it so much in fact that one day many moons ago I tried Zygor Guides at level 60 on my warrior and I’ve never looked back.

Levels 1-60 where fraught with many a wasted night looking for quests objectives, grinding out experience, and trying to use my rested experience as best I could. Even with tools like wowhead and thottbot I often found myself scratching my head in frustration while I went to go take out my frustration in a BG.

Who here has ever opened up their quest log to find it full of quests that you don’t even remember picking up?
Who here has ever opened up their quest log to see green or grey quests that you never got around to because you ventured off somewhere and outpaced the quest?
Who here has ever opened up their quest log to see “(Completed)”...but not necessarily know where to “complete” the quest?

I know I’d done each of these things many a time.

Once I got Zygor’s guide though it was like a veil lifted and I could enjoy the game. I know it sounds odd, but I actually enjoyed the game more because I was able to focus on playing the game and not wandering around aimlessly.

So what does zygor guides do exactly?
Well simply put it organizes your quest for you into a route. Rather than you doing quest haphazardly it lines out which quests to take and in what order to do them in.

How is this beneficial?
Simple, lets say you have 3 quests to do. We’ll call them quests 1, 2 & 3.

Normally without the guide you might do them in the order you got them in, but lets say that quests 1 & 3 are right next to eachother, by that I mean lets say you have to kill 2 types of mobs and they spawn in the same spot. Now lets say quest 2 is in the opposite direction of 1 & 3. Without a guide you might do quest 1, then walk clear over to quest 2, only to start quest 3 realizing you were RIGHT WHERE YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO BE when you were doing quest 1.

Using Zygor Guides basically tells you, “hey don’t be an idiot, do quest 1 and 3 at the same time, then move on to quest 2.
Cool right?

Beyond telling you what order to do them in, Zygor actually gives you NOTES on the quest. Notes like, click on the box behind the desk, or the book is on the third shelf towards the back, or simply kill 10 of x, kill 10 of y.

If the cliff notes to the quest were enough Zygor has also included a BIG ARROW for the simpler people in the crowd (no offense because I use it religiously)

Don’t like arrows, how about markers on your map?

Zygor does all the leg work for you and lets you actually enjoy playing and learning your class.

Zygor is quickly updated for all patches including 3.1

All in all I can’t imagine playing a character now without Zygor Guides, in fact I recently when back and started a new warrior on a different realm and didn’t have Zygor selected in my add-ons. I’m a lazy guy so when I saw it wasn’t selected and I was already loaded I decided it would take to long to log off to load it (yes I’m that lazy) so I went on without it...for about 5 minutes and then I decided playing without it was like pulling my own teeth.

So out of a possible 10 points I would definitely give Zygor’s Leveling Guide a very solid 15.

More Northrend Grinding: Gold Grinding and Level Grinding

First if you’re grinding for gold or experience stop, you would have much more fun questing for gold and experience, it’s faster and much more lucrative. If you find you’re questing is going slow I highly recommend using Zygor’s Guide not only will you level in no time flat, but with the quest rewards you can do so and have enough gold for just about anything. I’ve recently been out trying to find more “grind spots” for people. Rather than cover each and every spot that I found I decided to go over some of the “requirements” you need to keep an eye out for. When most people start looking for a place to Grind in Northrend, or anywhere else for that matter, they typically try to find a place with a lot of mobs who drop a lot of silver. This is generally an ok idea. Lots of mobs + lots of gold equals lots of gold for you right? Well yes and no.

More than just looking for more, the idea of picking a grinding spot based on quality is just as important. When looking at mobs you need to take a few things into account.

1. Gold – Obviously this is a key component. You want to find mobs that drop decent amounts of gold.

2. Items – Some mobs drop “auctionable” items, others drop greys, and others drop greens. Here you want to find items that are in high demand or that sell for decent amounts. Certain humanoids, in addition to gold, drop a fair amount of cloth and other items that can stack in 20’s that can be sold for 2-4 gold a pop.

3. Damage and Health – “the bigger they are the harder they fall” doesn’t apply here. Typically the bigger they are the harder they hit yu and the harder it is to kill them. Try to find mobs that have a low amount of health and that take a lot of damage quickly, without dishing it out. This helps decrease the amount of time you have to spend healing or drinking many pots.

4. Respawn Rates - Some mobs respawn in seconds, some in minutes. You want to find mobs that are leaning towards the seconds... The faster they come out the faster you can grind them.

My next northrend grinding spot is out in Zul’ Drak. The name of the city escapes me at the moment, but there is a flight path to it and it’s on the easter side of the zone. It’s in the area with the Giant changed up snow leopard and bear.

Basically right outside of the little city with the flight path there is a square full of Ice Trolls. Ice Trolls in the square and out along the edges.

Step 1. Mount up.

Step 2. pull 2-5 of these guys

Step 3 Kill them and loot.

Wash rinse repeat. Go after the healers first...as they tend to heal. The warriors can do damage to you but if you have any degree of respectable AOE they should not be a problem. I’ve found that lvl 78 is the minimum to use this area to grind for either exp or gold.

Anything below this and you’re most likely not going to have a good time.

Last night I hit this spot up for a quick 200g in about an hour or so. Good grinding spot for greys and greens. Lots of cloth too. EXP wasn’t so bad either with rested exp.

My take on this is pretty simple. I've been a very adamant supporter of two levelign guides, Dugis and Zygor, I stand by them, if you want to level this is the way to go.

But what do you do once you've leveled? Settle down and just SUCK? IT's hard work PVPing or knowing what to do in raids. If you're goal is to become an elite wow player then Warcraft Formula is only going to get you there quicker.

Flying is a very cool thing and a decent investment, if you can call buying something in a game an investment.

So on the off chance you don’t know from walking to flying on an epic in northrend you’re looking at a cost of 7700-8000 gold. Now there are ways to decrease or increase this amount, but for the sake of not having to tell you (right now) where to do this we’ll just pretend you’re going to buy the whole thing. Assuming you don’t buy much in the way of gear and are depending on drops and such 8k at 100g a day is 80 days...that’s a little to long if you ask me. 80 days to fly, hopefully it’s not going to take you that long.

How about 100g an hour? Does that sound a bit more palatable? Lets assume you average 3 hours a day (I know it’s more but there are some people who aren’t that...invested in wow). At 3 hours a day you’re looking at about 27 days assuming you’re making 100g an hour. That’s not to shabby I suppose. There are faster ways, but lets keep the bar low for those people not going balls to the wall here. 100g an hour can you do this? If you can’t you’ve got a problem because 100g an hour is basically riding around norethrend hunting down cobalt mines for 3 hours...woohhooo sounds like fun...not. Using this strategy for 27 days you’ll be doing nothing but mining...assuming you’re a miner. If you’re happy with that type of play then stop reading...I don’t want to ruin your fun.

There is another way to make 200+ gold an hour and more. I’ve done it, I do it. It’s not hard and it doesn’t limit your game time to gathering for hours on end. How you might ask? How about a wow gold guide? Literally this is the simplest way to do this below are the top two wow gold guides available. They are simple to use, cheap, and beat grinding in northrend any day of the week.

Level Grinding In Northrend - Why are you doing this....seriously?

OK hold the phones everyone shhhh..shhh... I need people to get this point and I need them to get it clearly.
When you ask me, "Hey Blackthought, where is all the level grinding and gold grinding in northrend going on", and I respond by laughing at you then telling you "wtf are you doing?" I mean it in with the utmost sincerity.

Seriously wtf are you doing still trying to grind levels in Northrend for...or gold for that matter? I understand the need to kill 5 or 6 mobs to level on occasion, we've all been there. Or the occasional need for a fast buck without having to spend forever in the AH. What I don't understand is when I ask, "well how much till you ding" how I can get "only 20 bars"...there is nothing "ONLY" about 20 bars that's damn near the entire level my friend. Stop what you're doing and think for a second.

Ask yourself: "What could I be doing to make the most of my time in Northrend?" ...If "I need to get my grinding on" was the answer you came up with do me a favor and go sit in time-out for a few minutes.

I really want to help out on this one, I really do. There's no reason you should be grinding for levels or gold in Northrend...or any other continent for that matter, it's just so cavemanish and boring, I mean really do you want to sit and kill the same thing over..and over..and over again? Yeah I didn't think so, you're paying money to play this game, why waste it grinding?

There are many different things you can do to help get both gold and levels pumped out more quickly. Many of these tactics I've covered on the site, ALL of them are in either a wow leveling guide (if it's leveling you're after) or a wow gold guide (if it's gold ye seek). Why waste your time waiting for things to respawn when you could be out pvping or raiding?

So some advice from me to you, if you want to know everything about level grinding or gold grinding in northrend start by looking at:

Zygor Leveling Guide - For Leveling & Gold Making

Warcraft Wealth - for gold making.

Trust me when I say you're time will be much better spent. ... If that's still not good enough for you then I'll give you a good grinding spot I used to use.

The city just south of Venomspite in Dragonblight is chalk full of humans. Grab your mount, pull 5-8, AOE, loot. Hop on mount, head down to the beach near the tents, pull 5-8 mobs, AOE, loot. Hop on mount, there's a ship nearby with 10 or so mobs, HEAL, pull them all, AOE, loot. If you're a miner theirs a cobalt node just as you come off the boat on the beach too. Just wash rinse repeat this and you're looking at 100-200 gold an hour depending on what drops...it's just not that fun.

Oh and if you are going to do this make sure to loot EVERYTHING, even greys. Remember a grey weapon will sell for 1-4 gold at a vendor.

Dugi's Ultimate World of Warcraft Guide vs Zygor Guides: A brief review

So what's the story here? Which guide is better you're probably wondering. Well read on to find which of these two guides is best and which is the best buy for your buck.

I've touted Zygor Guides as the end all for quite some time now, having leveled several characters using it, portions of those levels coming at the hands of my 6 year old following the arrows. Let me be clear, Zygor Guides is an AWESOME GUIDE, bottom line point blank and I still recommend this for anyone wanting to level with ease and with speed. So why am I touting Dugis wow leveling guide?

The reason is simple, overall I feel the PACKAGED guide is more beneficial for the average player. Along with the built in leveling guide and such, very similar to Zygors wow leveling guide, Dugis guide offers other guides as well. Gold guides, character guides, etc, etc. These aren't just run of the mill guides either these guides are as solid as any major gold guide out there.

If you want to know how to make money, how to find grinding spots, learn how to work the auction house, or simply want to get your DAMN flying mount then Dugis leveling guide can show you how. GOLD SEEKERS HERE'S YOUR ANSWER

So what's the difference between the two? Well aside from the additional, more in-depth guides you get with Dugis, Zygors does still remain on top with it's automation of quest tracking. OK hold the phone. I’ve just been made aware of a new Guide. Believe it or not I think I’m going to be changing up my ENTIRE process here. So I’ve been away and all this time I continue to receive emails about Zygor Guides and wow leveling guides in general.
Do wow leveling guides work?

Are wow leveling guides effective?

Which wow leveling guide is MOST effective?

I want a wow leveling guide but don’t know how to pay for it?

As far as leveling guides go ZYGOR GUIDES is still the guide to get, it’s updated constantly to be more and more accurate. IT has a SOUND and active forum community to help you with any issues or just discuss game talk. It interfaces directly with WOW so you’re not having to STOP playing to get something done. The long and short of it all is that it does what you need it to do.

If you’re on a budget, while you’re saving I would try using quest helper (the add on) as it’s pretty decent. There are a lot of bugs and the quest routes don’t always work out. The updates are a pain in the rear to get too, but if you don’t have the cash to spend it’s better than nothing. IF you do have the cash to spend the CLICK HERE and try your copy for 30 days. By the time the 30 days is up you could have several characters leveled up. I’ve been using Zygor Guides for a little over a year now and I don’t know what I’d do without them both.

So i've been leveling several different toons using zygor guides and I must admit i'm impressed. I still recommend using questhelper to supliment the guide as there are still a few little things I like about questhelper, but as for pumping out levels well I hit 75 on my main that I've not really been playing in a little under a level every 7-8 hours...depending on how focused I am. The detail of the quests is VERY accurate and I've found very few mistakes. I actually am enjoying the game a much more as well. There's no down time where i'm not really sure what to do. Once I complete a quest i'm off to complete the next quest in line. THIS is the beauty of the guide. You don't even realize it but in you log in, do a few quests and then realize , "wow...i just finished 6 quests in like 15 minutes...damn!"

The biggest benefit has been the grouping of quests. Rather than riding around blowing time doing quests in the order I get them in I follow the guide and i'm able to group quests up. For some reason the WOW designers must have figured we'd enjoy riding all over the place criss crossing each zone for a few quest, because without the guide that's exactly what you end up doing...I know I strayed from the guide to do some quest for gear and OMG it was like pulling teeth in comparision to the ease of using the Zygor Guides.

If you haven't tried it out you really should. The game opens up and you can actually focus on enjoying Northrend

GM's and a Glitch

So this morning was a mixed blessing. I was able to get on and pump out 30+ steps on my leveling guide and get like 5-6 bars in about an hour. Right before I decide to log I figure I’ll finish up another quest or two by killing this lich lord guy in the Northern part of the Tundra Zone. I walk into the undead “temple” like structure and step on a hill leading to the second level and the next thing I know I’m like 10000 feet above the ground, so high in fact that I can’t even see the ground. I’m plummeting down fast and I’m angling so I’m heading north at break neck speeds. On the 1 hand I got exploration experience for most of the zone north of the tundra as when I finally died I was at the northern part of the next zone :) ON the other hand I when I released I was still in the tundra with my corpse nowhere in site on my map.

It just so happens that at that very moment a GM whispers me about a ticket I put in 2 days ago...talk about fate :)
GM: Hello Blackthought, how are you doing today
Blackthought (as I’m trying to locate my body on the map): it’s funny you should ask :)
GM: Oh and why is that?
Blackthought: Well because I just fell through the floor and into the sky.
GM: Ah I see, well then that is a problem isn’t it.
Blackthought: Yes it is, especially since I can’t seam to find my body.
GM: Have you checked (Zone Name)?
Blackthought: You know it didn’t occur to me as I was in Tundra when I died.
GM: Hmmm well that does make sense then. Tell me where you near the (Area name in Tundra)?
Blackthought: Well yeah it just so happens that I was.
GM: Yeah we’ve been having some trouble with that and they are working on fixing it.
Blackthought: Ah well it’s not all bad I did get some exp for exploration.:)
GM: HA! Well then it’s not an entire waste. So I wanted to check with you on your mailbox issue...

I tell him things are just fine now and he goesGM: Ok well Blackthought is there anything else I can do for you?
Blackthought: Again, Funny you should ask. My body is 20k yards from me in a zone I can’t get into because there’s a giant mountain in the way. I’ve recently used my hearth stone and the zone is well above my level...this is going to make both getting my body and walking back...well it’s going to suck. Is there any way you can res me? And if it’s not to much place an epic item in my mailboxJ
GM: LOL I’ll take care of the res as you DID fall through the ground into the sky. The epic you’ll have to work on though.

Gold in Northrend - Easy Northrend Gold Grinding Spot

UPDATE: Well now that 80 has arrived the next crucial thing is gear and gold. I went ahead and went the route of the “GOLD GUIDE” and tried a couple of them out. If you want a MONSTER of a gold guide then I highly recommend this guide. It is pretty much the TOP of wow gold guides and is easy to use and understand i'm sitting at about 6k gold after a little less than a week...not hardcore play time either. No grinding and such. If you're serious about making gold, or serious about getting that flying mount get your copy of Warcraft Wealth.

Getting gold in Northrend is like trying to hit the floor when you spit, that’s to say it’s pretty damn easy.

I’m by no stretch of the imagination a “GOLD MACHINE”, love machine maybe, but “gold Machine” I am not. BUT I’m finding that without doing dailies and just questing I can rake in about 150g in an hour and a half easy, keep in mind that’s not including the Cobalt Ore I’m selling at 2.5-3g a pop.

I decided to simply try to grind to see what the rate of gold was...I was pleasantly surprised. Right outside of WS Hold as you head out the main entrance there is a big “wall’ with spiders on it. Head up the ramps on that wall till you get to the area with moths and little troll type guys that shoot fire, Blood something harvesters or something like that, and you’ll be in what I like to call the gold zone. Between the moths and the harvesters and the various nodes out there I was hitting about 150g an hour there. The trick was LOOT EVERYTHING especially the greys. Sure it’s not the funnest thing in the world to do, but gold is gold. The kicker here was the amount of grey weapons (2-4g when sold to vendors), and the green drops (2-6g when sold to vendors) were dropping from the harvesters like they’d just robbed an armory. Also be sure to pick up the various crap grey items as well a stack of 20 will often sell for 2-4 gold.

I would still recommend questing as a means of getting gold as you can definitely make more money that way. But if you’re in the mood to just hit a few guys and make some gold try this spot out. The mobs are easy, they drop 10-20 silver per humanoid and then they drop any number of green and grey items you can vendor. PLUS you’re getting semi decent experience to a point. There are a few more of these area’s I will be dropping hear in the near future. After taking a holiday vacation from WOW I have some levels to quickly make up. I will say I went from 70-72.5 in a little under 10 hours with the help of Zygor Guides, bare in mind this was with spending some time in Nexus and a few other instances.

Zygor Guides and Leveling to 80 Faster Than Expected

When I get behind something I expect for that something to be extra special. So it was to my dismay that I’ve heard these rumors about Zygor Guide not getting people to 80 when expected. I was taken back by the many countless times I heard “I was not at the same level the guide said I should be at.”

I guess the only reason I’m writing about this is because right after saying that I generally heard “I was higher in levels!”

Not only has Zygor Guides delivered on getting people to level 80 in no time at all it has done so a head of it’s own expectations in many cases. With average times ranging at about 2.8-3.5 days played to hit level 80 from level 70 it’s a wonder these things aren’t flying off the shelves.

So back to my rant...

Zygor if you’re going to tell me I should be at level 74 when I’m at level 75 or 76 then I’m really going to consider buying another copy and giving it to my guild mates:)

Level 80 has been reached...stop playing???

In case you’ve been living under a rock for the past week or so the race to level 80 is over, stop playing Warcraft because Nymh has already reached level 80. What’s the point in leveling quickly now right?

WRONG.

Just because someone has already reached level 80 doesn’t mean the desire to get there quickly isn’t still there. If you’re wondering how Nymh was able to level so quickly a quick google of his tactics reveal that he grinded for a full 27 hours almost completely straight. What is also revealed is that he had a healer shadowing him to keep his happy butt alive while he pulled mob after mob. I know we all have healer friends who are willing to devote their time to keeping you alive whilst they get no experience to get you to level 80 as quickly as possible...what’s that? No you say. You could barely find a healer for Kara before hand and the chances of you finding a healer for this little endeavor or slim to none?

I recently asked a healer friend of mine if he would stop leveling himself and come heal me full time till I hit 80. Where he told me to put that idea is rated R so I can’t post it here, but rest assured it was not friendly.

So with that in mind I thought I would remind everyone that questing is still going to be the best way to hit 80 and getting a leveling guide...really in any shape or form is going to be your best bet.

I tried grinding in the same spot as Mr. Nymh and well...let’s just say after about 10 minutes I decided it would be better if I put hot pokers in my eyes and deleted my characters. Grinding is horrible my friends...horrible.

Back to using Zygor Guides to get me to where I need to go.

WOTLK Leveling Guide – Zygor Getting the Job Done

As expected I know I am more than pleased with using Zygor Guides as my leveling guide in Northrend. As the uptime for the wow servers has been...shaky at best I haven’t had a chance to look at the Death Knight Leveling Guide, BUT for only being able to play a total of 2 hours I can say being a bar away from 71 is more than fine for me. Also as expected Zygor Guides delivered in detail, clarity and usefulness...everything I want in a WOTLK Leveling guide. Based on what I’ve seen, if the rest of the guide is even half this good then Zygor Guide is definitely the way to go if you’re looking for a WOTLK leveling guide.

Death Knight Leveling Guide – What you need to have in a leveling guide for Death Knights.

Well now that Death Knights are pretty much in full swing and pwning things from instances to Wintergrasp more and more people WANT to be a deathknights. I know I’ve seen a cycle in the amount of Deathknights that have started leveling again. So we’re back to, “well how do I level a death knight as quickly as possible?” Again the answer is pretty simple. GET A LEVELING GUIDE.
Zygor Guide provides THE BEST starting Deathknight leveling guide, taking you from 55 to your new zone in a very short time. Even if you’re already done with the starting zone you’re still going to have to navigate anywhere between 15-20 levels and they aren’t small levels either.

Questing is still hands down the fastest way to level in wow and leveling a death knight is not an exception. With quest helper and some of the other “free” quest helpers either getting nuked or shutting them selves down more and more people are being left out in the cold.

Don’t be one of those people. Zygor guide is still 100% grind free and 100% in game, no fuss and no mess. I’ve already leveled two Death Knights and I’ve used Zygor Guides on both of them.

Yes having a Death Knight leveling guide makes as much sense as having a regular world of warcraft leveling guide does...if not more sense. Think about when you first started playing WOW and about how much you didn't know about what you had to do. After the first 10 levels when you start bouncing back and forth between zones time can get sucked right out of your levels. Why do that? There are countless Death Knight leveling guides already available. Zygor, iDemise, Joana's and Kopp's all offer leveling guides for Death Knights.

Let's be honest here. As much as we are going to enjoy WOTLK(can't wait to install it today) we'll enjoy it about 100 times more when we're level 80. Same thing will hold true for Death Knights. We'll enjoy being a level 80 Death Knight much more than we'll enjoy being a lvl 55 Death Knight. That being said stop waisting your time with trying to figure out what to do next or where to turn in so and so's head, paw, claw, etc and take a look at any of the above guides for simple, built in quest information.

Zygor guides continues to reign on top and as I've said before, Dugis is a close second, but if you're new to wow or to a certain zone then you definately want to go for Zygor...and as NO ONE really has any experience with leveling a Death Knight I would recommend getting Zygor Guides.

Which is better iDemise or Zygor Guides

I have been leveling my alts for the big jump into WOTLK, I would rather have 4 poorly geared 70's than 1 epicly geared out, and I have been using Zygor Guides, which has been more than perfect for what I need. I've also been getting questions regarding which is better team iDemise or Zygor Guides. So I set out to do a little side by side...bare in mind I am already well versed in leveling a horde character.

I really didn't notice any difference to be honest. I can still definately see how someone who's never played would benefit tons more with Zygor Guides as opposed to iDemise, but for a relativley seasoned player I would have to say iDemise is a better deal because it's a bit cheaper.

This is not to say that an experienced player wouldn't benefit from Zygor Guides, just that you might be able to get by without it and use iDemise. I still tend to level a bit faster with Zygor Guides because it's stupid easy, but because I know a lot of the quest I'm doing already I don't always have to read the help section. When I do though it's nice to have them readily available.

So my conclusion is this...

Zygor Guides: Benefits everyone and well worth the money easier to use and more bells and whistles..

iDemise: Also beneficial and if you're on a budget is definately the way to go, excellent leveling guide.

Making wow gold on the Auction House

Guide to using the Auction House to make WOW gold.
Much like the stock market it is possible to make gold using the Auction House, and yes it really is as simple as buying low and selling high... and at the same time just as complicated.

First and foremost you’re going to need to get the Auctioneer add on. Really you could do it without this add on but since it’s free why bother? auctioneeraddon.com is where you can get this add on. While you’re there go ahead and get the bottom scanner too. Now you're ready to start making gold on the auction house.

Ok what this add on will allow you to do is scan the entire auction house. Yes it take about 10 minutes but it’s worth it. What this does is looks at the current prices on the auction house and gives you an average price over time. So you’ll need to do this 2-4 times in a week period to get a good average of what items sell for on the auction house. Once you’ve established a reasonable average price you can begin to “Bottom Scan”, you’ll see tabs in your auction house interface window, one of them is bottom scanner. Hit the yellow play button in the upper left corner and watch it go.

Bottom Scanner is going to look at every listing and check it against the average price you’ve already established and it’ll give you a little message showing you how much you stand to gain. For instance if your average on a Righteous orb price has been 10g an orb and the bottom scanner sees a stack of 5 righteous orbs for 5 gold each then it will tell you to purchase this and post it back on the auction house. Making you 5g an orb. Not to bad for buying and re-listing.

Auctioneer comes with a tab “Appraiser” which will let you click on an item in your bag interface and then it will suggest a price and you can post your item as based on the average from your scans.

It tells you what to buy, how much gold you'll make, then it tells you what price to post things at.

All you have to do is do it really.

Simple right? It really is but here are a few things you need to watch out for.
1. There’s always some clever person (a jerk) who will post an Orb at 99999g per Orb. I believe this is done intentionally to screw with numbers. So what you need to do is always check with “appraiser” as you can see the per item price on the current market. If you see this is way out of wack then simply eye ball your post, making sure to undercut while still making a profit. The idea is to turn items around not buy everything and price it so high you’ll never sell it.

2. Not all things sell. Gear is usually harder to sell unless you have a twink item, an epic, or a good green. I’ve noticed the suffixes –of the Champion, -of the Bandit, and –of the Monkey will generally sell for a pretty penny. There are a few key item groups that sell, I’ve already listed one here, Enchanting mats. In fact Auctioneer will suggest low green items that you can buy and disenchant and then post the mats for a profit.

Use your imagination and tweek things to what you know. Keep an eye on prices and it is more than realistic to have over 200g a day coming in with little to no time invested, and much more than that if you decide to get serious.

Brian Kopps – 7/10 - I didn’t want to give Brian Kopp’s guide the same score as iDemise, but in essence they offer the same detail.
Joana’s World – 7/10 – A very good guide as well with somewhat of a mod available but the lack of detail on quests placed this at the bottom of my list.

Functionality:
Zygor Guides: 10/10 – Again simply the best. 1-70, soon to be 1-80 leveling guide on the market. The add on available with Zygor provides detailed instructions, paths and tips to complete every quest as well as a keenly optimized quest route , making leveling form 1-70, and soon leveling form 1-80, as simple as it is enjoyable.
Team iDemise: 9/10 – Respectable it’s own right Team IDemise has put together a great package. Quest time optimization is not necessarily on par with Zygor, but is definitely there.
Brian Kopps: 7/10 – Questing is great but can definitely undergo some path optimization. Other than that the Kopp’s guide is still an industry leader.
Joana’s World: 5/10 – While you don’t have to alt-tab to much there are a few things missing here. I would leave this guide for more experienced WOW players as it does leave out some noobish details, while the other guides provide a bit more of a comprehensive package.

Overall:
Zygor Guides: 10/10 – without hesitate if your experience or inexperienced Zygor guide brings a whole new dimention to your game. Along with a free gold guide you get so much more in detail and functionality. With very few drawbacks, Zygor Guides is my preferred leveling guide.
Team iDemise: 8.5/10 – A great leveling guide and arguably the best bang for the buck. Well planned and easy to use good map mod, all in all a solid leveling guide..
Brian Kopps: 7/10 – A great leveling guide, lacking in some focus when compared to the #1 & 2 spot this guide still comes highly recommended.
Joana’s World: 7/10 – not for the faint of heart this wow leveling guide provides everything you need to know what quests to do but not necessarily the detail. If you know the quests but just not the best order to put them in this is your guide.
