</p><p>Gooooooood morning yo! Yep, it&#8217;s Fun Day Monday and your boy is here to post once again. Two Mondays in a row now? Miracle ain&#8217;t it?</p>
<p>Well, there&#8217;s actually a good reason&#8230;</p>
<p>Aside from missing y&#8217;all very dearly this weekend (as, I&#8217;m sure you did me <img src='http://www.world-wide-ed.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif' alt=':P' class='wp-smiley' /> ), my ugly mug is supposed to be donning the cover of today&#8217;s print edition of our wonderful Star Advertiser, bringing a whole new set of readers (well, hopefully) to WWE.</p>
<p>AURIIITE!</p>
<p>So here we be, with an oldie but goodie, Fun Day Monday blog. Dust off your keyboards and comment awayyyy kay!?</p>
<p>&#8212;</p>
<p>A while ago, our friend Rox shared her method of how she remembers her friends&#8217; license plates&#8230; She takes the first three letters of the plate and makes a catchy phrase out of it. For example: <strong>RBP</strong> would be Ronie Brings Peanuts, <strong>GVT</strong> would be Good Virgin Teacher, and <strong>PJN</strong> would be PaJama Nighty. Ahahaha! Eh, no ack! I know you do the same! LOL!</p>
<p>And speaking of license plates, let&#8217;s not forget about <strong>kuya.d</strong>&#8216;s now legendary suggestion of <strong>VH07V</strong> on a previous <a href="http://www.world-wide-ed.com/2009/04/16/custom-plates" target="_blank">&#8220;Custom Plates&#8221; blog</a> (see comment #12)! Huuuu, dat be some history right dea!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img src="http://www.world-wide-ed.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/2010-07-26a.jpg" alt="VH07V Vanity License Plate" width="227" height="115" /><br />
VH07V Vanity License Plate</p>
<p>Anywho, let&#8217;s hear some of your memorization tactics. Can be with license plates or anything else. Maybe you can use Michael Scott&#8217;s tactics?</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="384" height="283" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="align" value="middle" /><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#000000" /><param name="quality" value="high" /><param name="src" value="http://widget.nbc.com/videos/nbcshort_at.swf?CXNID=1000004.10045NXC&amp;widID=4727a250e66f9723&amp;clipID=994221&amp;showID=22&amp;configXML=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nbc.com%2Fservice%2Fvideowidget%2Fparams%2FdmlkZW9faWQ9OTk0MjIx%2F&amp;initXML=http://www.nbc.com%2FThe_Office%2Fvideo%2Fepisodes%2Finit.xml?videoId=994221" /><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="384" height="283" src="http://widget.nbc.com/videos/nbcshort_at.swf?CXNID=1000004.10045NXC&amp;widID=4727a250e66f9723&amp;clipID=994221&amp;showID=22&amp;configXML=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nbc.com%2Fservice%2Fvideowidget%2Fparams%2FdmlkZW9faWQ9OTk0MjIx%2F&amp;initXML=http://www.nbc.com%2FThe_Office%2Fvideo%2Fepisodes%2Finit.xml?videoId=994221" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" quality="high" bgcolor="#000000" align="middle"></embed></object></p>
<p>&#8212;</p>
<p>On a side note, here&#8217;s a feel good mini-story: This past weekend, I flew over to Maui to help out at our <a title="Road Runner Mobile" href="http://andhere.com">Road Runner Mobile</a> booth at the Maui Spam Jam. Amongst other things, we were giving away one brand new SpongeBob SquarePants skateboard every hour. There was a cute kid named Jarrett there who signed up early on to try and win one of the skateboards. Hour after hour, he would come back to our booth to see if we had drawn names yet and if the name we had drawn was his. He just would not give up.</p>
<p>As the show started to come to a close, we had one more name left to draw. Jarrett was nowhere to be found. We figured he had either given up or left. Either way, the show had to continue. Bruddah Joel (da man from the Maui&#8217;s division) was about to pull the last name, but instead of pulling it himself, he decided to let one of two young girls pull the name. They too had been hanging around the booth for most of the day hoping to win the skateboard.</p>
<p>In an unbelievable twist of fate, the girl pulled Jarrett&#8217;s entry!!! Joel and I were floored! Something was in the air&#8230; It had to be divine intervention!</p>
<p>Making things more fairytale-like, we found out from Jarrett&#8217;s mom that little Jarrett was actually recently hit by a car and has been going through months and months of rehab to get his walking back to form. On top of that he is also an avid collector of skateboards.</p>
<p>WOAH! Talk about chicken skin!</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s a shot of Jarrett with his new skateboard (along with Joel).</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img src="http://www.world-wide-ed.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/2010-07-26.jpg" alt="Jarrett and Joel" /><br />
Jarrett and Joel</p>
<p>Congrats Jarrett! All the best to you!</p>
<p>&#8212;</p>

</p><p>It&#8217;s been a while since we did a &#8220;Fun Day Monday&#8221; post, so I thought I&#8217;d shock y&#8217;all, and blog about this fun/interesting one forwarded recently amongst our marketing department. Pretty interesting stuff, especially for you marketing/art/graphic types.</p>
<p>&#8212;</p>
<p>An interesting bit of Logo trivia&#8230; I was not aware of these things&#8230;guess I&#8217;ll have to start watching logos more carefully.</p>
<p><strong>Tostitos</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.world-wide-ed.com/" target="_blank"><img title="Fun Day Monday - Hidden Symbols in Logos" src="http://www.world-wide-ed.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/2010-07-19a.jpg" alt="Fun Day Monday - Hidden Symbols in Logos" /><br />
Tostitos</a></p>
<p>If you look at the center of this logo, you can see two people enjoying a Tostitos chip with a bowl of salsa. This logo conveys an idea of people connecting with each other.</p>
<p><strong>Formula 1</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.world-wide-ed.com/" target="_blank"><img title="Fun Day Monday - Hidden Symbols in Logos" src="http://www.world-wide-ed.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/2010-07-19b.jpg" alt="Fun Day Monday - Hidden Symbols in Logos" /><br />
Formula 1</a></p>
<p>At first, this logo might not make much sense. But if you look closely, you&#8217;ll see the number 1 in the negative space between the F and the red stripes. I also love how this logo communicates a feeling of speed.</p>
<p><strong>Milwaukee Brewers</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.world-wide-ed.com/" target="_blank"><img title="Fun Day Monday - Hidden Symbols in Logos" src="http://www.world-wide-ed.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/2010-07-19c.jpg" alt="Fun Day Monday - Hidden Symbols in Logos" /><br />
Milwaukee Brewers</a></p>
<p>The Milwaukee Brewers is a professional baseball team from Milwaukee , Wisconsin (well, duh…). Their logo is actually made up of the letters M (on top) and B (below the m). These two letters also form a baseball glove.</p>
<p><strong>Northwest Airlines</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.world-wide-ed.com/" target="_blank"><img title="Fun Day Monday - Hidden Symbols in Logos" src="http://www.world-wide-ed.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/2010-07-19d.jpg" alt="Fun Day Monday - Hidden Symbols in Logos" /><br />
Northwest Airlines</a></p>
<p>This simple looking logo actually carries a lot of information. First of all you can see the letters N and W, the first two letters of the brand name. But what most people don&#8217;t see is the compass that points to the Northwest, another reference to the brand name.</p>
<p><strong>Amazon</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.world-wide-ed.com/" target="_blank"><img title="Fun Day Monday - Hidden Symbols in Logos" src="http://www.world-wide-ed.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/2010-07-19e.jpg" alt="Fun Day Monday - Hidden Symbols in Logos" /><br />
Amazon</a></p>
<p>This logo doesn&#8217;t seem to hide much at first sight, but it gives you a little insight in the philosophy behind the brand. First of all, the yellow swoosh looks like a smile: Amazon wants to have the best customer satisfaction. The swoosh also connects the letters a and z, meaning that this store has everything from a to z.</p>
<p><strong>Toblerone</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.world-wide-ed.com/" target="_blank"><img title="Fun Day Monday - Hidden Symbols in Logos" src="http://www.world-wide-ed.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/2010-07-19f.jpg" alt="Fun Day Monday - Hidden Symbols in Logos" /><br />
Toblerone</a></p>
<p>Toblerone is a chocolate-company from Bern , Switzerland . Bern is sometimes called ‘The City Of Bears ’. They have incorporated this idea in the Toblerone logo, because if you look closely, you&#8217;ll see the silhouette of a bear.</p>
<p><strong>Baskin Robins</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.world-wide-ed.com/" target="_blank"><img title="Fun Day Monday - Hidden Symbols in Logos" src="http://www.world-wide-ed.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/2010-07-19g.jpg" alt="Fun Day Monday - Hidden Symbols in Logos" /><br />
Baskin Robins</a></p>
<p>The old logo of Baskin Robbins had the number 31 with an arc above it. The new logo took this idea to the next level. The pink parts of the BR still form the number 31, a reference to the 31 flavors.</p>
<p><strong>Sony Vaio</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.world-wide-ed.com/" target="_blank"><img title="Fun Day Monday - Hidden Symbols in Logos" src="http://www.world-wide-ed.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/2010-07-19h.jpg" alt="Fun Day Monday - Hidden Symbols in Logos" /><br />
Sony Vaio</a></p>
<p>Sony Vaio is a well known brand of laptops. But did you know that the name Vaio logo also had a hidden meaning? Well, the first two letters represent the basic analogue signal. The last two letters look like a 1 and 0, representing the digital signal.</p>
<p><strong>FedEx</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.world-wide-ed.com/" target="_blank"><img title="Fun Day Monday - Hidden Symbols in Logos" src="http://www.world-wide-ed.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/2010-07-19i.jpg" alt="Fun Day Monday - Hidden Symbols in Logos" /><br />
FedEx</a></p>
<p>Do you see any arrows on FedEx’s logo? I saw it a few times at other site saying that there’s an arrow hidden in the FedEx arrow, but I couldn’t find it. I now know where it is, it’s your turn to find. The clue is that the arrow is located in between the alphabet E and X, and the arrow is white, acting as a background.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.world-wide-ed.com/" target="_blank"><img title="Fun Day Monday - Hidden Symbols in Logos" src="http://www.world-wide-ed.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/2010-07-19j.jpg" alt="Fun Day Monday - Hidden Symbols in Logos" /><br />
FedEx</a></p>
<p>&#8212;</p>
<p>Speaking of logos&#8230; Check out this gem!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.ricefest.com/" target="_blank"><img title="Rice Fest Logo" src="http://www.world-wide-ed.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/ricefest-logo.jpg" alt="Fun Day Monday - Hidden Symbols in Logos" /><br />
1st Annual Hawaii Rice Fest</a></p>
<p>Hehe, ok, so this one is not really part of the trivia, but I thought you guys might get a kick out of it. Cute huh? It&#8217;s the logo for an event I&#8217;m helping to coordinate called the Rice Fest. Food, Fun and Festivities for the entire Family. <img src='http://www.world-wide-ed.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> Come check it out this September 11th at Aloha Tower if you have some time!
