Jude Law, who's currently starring on Broadway in Hamlet, has rented an apartment in a high-rise on the NYU campus and his balcony is in full, expensive-seats view of the residents in a freshman dorm. The kids yell his name (shouting "Hey Jude!" is irresistible) and generally make a ruckus whenever he hangs with his kid, entertains, or exercises in the open. "He's rugged and scruffy," said an 18-year-old female student with the "best view." A few weeks ago when the rabble and binocular-sharing interrupted his yoga, Law threw a fit – and oranges. "He noticed we were there and we started waving at him," said another student. "He went inside and came back with two oranges. He threw them at our window, but he missed." Law went inside again, reloaded, and returned with two more oranges. "This time, he hit the windows – there was orange pulp on the glass for a week – and then he went back to working out. Every year around this time, the folks at Goczi's Turkey Farm in Guilford, Connecticut, give their prettiest, sexiest birds a salon makeover, dying their feathers all the colors of the rainbow, then send them out front to lure customers in to buy turkeys that will be gobbled up at Thanksgiving. Fittingly, Rose Inati, who took these photos, is the story producer on RuPaul's Drag Race. She visits these tranny turkeys every year and tells us that working the door to Goczi's saves them from the dinner table.

Every year the Victoria's Secret fashion show becomes a bigger spectacle and gains gazillion more viewers and is hailed as a triumph of fashion and beauty and marketing. And every year it just gets more janky looking and more rick-rack and more pathetic. I mean COME ON: these outfits are pure Drag Queen 101. Like some Project Runway wannabe with a hot glue gun and $20 to spend at Home Depot smoked way too much meth. Yes, I get it: THEY'RE PRETTY GIRLS. WITH BOOBS. But for the amount of money spent on the show itself and the ads and the online video feed etc – couldn't they just throw some money at A REAL DESIGNER? Or maybe just feature the lingerie, but have a really good light show or backup band? I just groan a little bit louder this time each year. I'm Peter Griffin, and that's what really Grinds My Gears.

The number of transgender homicides has doubled in the past year. The International Transgender Day of Remembrance is meant to raise awareness of our sisters killed in anti-transgender hate crimes. Even as I post this, another horrific murder has occurred. HuffPo is reporting that the transsexual prostitute linked to an Italian sex scandal was found in her Rome apartment, mysteriously burned to death. Too sad. Too scary. The notoriously pin-thin actress/designer/mogul/haglet certainly appeared to have a fuller face, as well as – GASP! – a double chin at the MoMA/Tim Burton tribute Tuesday night. But then she's always hiding under those voluminous outfits, so who the hell can tell? Good for her, though, if she HAS gained a few, right?
