Robots-Dreams posts first hands-on review of Rovio

Lem Fugitt of Robots-Dreams fame has just posted a comprehensive review of the WowWee Rovio spy robot. He goes into detail about the robot including coverage on:

Ease of unpacking and setup
Autonomous navigation capabilites such as patrol routes and self-docking and recharging
Wireless router setup and other configuration issues
The Northstar navigation and its component TrueTrack beacon system
And more ...

As usual Lem has included a ton of droolworthy photographs that show the Rovio robot from a wide variety of angles and perspectives, including the charging dock and the primary TrueTrack beacon system. Overall, Lem was very impressed with the sleek, smart home surveillance robot and said:

"We think ROVIO is positioned to be the hottest robot for the upcoming holiday season, and for a long time to come. This robots functionality, usefulness, styling, and ease of use sets new standards. Not only is it a fantastic mobile webcam platform, it also lends itself to other applications. We can easily imagine colleges and research labs using ROVIO as a robotic platform to investigate swarming, or, on the lighter side, a new robot soccer league."
