We waited and waited and waited for, quite possibly, our favorite sale to return this April. When it didn't, we figured that it was a biennial sorta thing. But then the news broke yesterday, and we barely held it together. More Choo's for $75, that was what was going through our minds. More than Louboutin, more than Manolo, the Jimmy Choo sample sale is severely important, and we can give you more reason than just one.

First of all, the prices beat out all other designer shoe sale prices. If you guys have attended the Louboutin or Manolo sale in the past, you'd know what we mean. There is not se price for a 'damaged shoe', but at the Jimmy Choo sale, anything that has a damage becomes $75. That is how we scored a pair of current lace booties that were marked $1195, for just 75 bucks. Mhmm, that's right.

Second of all, the staff that ran the Choo sale last year was super awesome and fun. No Manolo Nazis or Louboutin Generals, just a bunch of people hangin around shoes and bags, laughing at the sheer ridiculousness of the crowd.

Finally, there is more Jimmy Choo merchandise than one could dream of, at least there was last year. So even after the VIPs went through the piles, there was still a ton of goodies left for us. Wait on that line, it's worth it ladies.

Bottom Line: You know what to do.

Prepping for Proenza (The Sample Sale, Guys)

Last August we experienced a Proenza Schouler sample sale for the first time. In some words, thank goodness we got there as early as we did because the goods were cleaned out in a matter of moments (well the good goods anyway).

So despite the fact that we will not be attending this season's Proenza sale, we have decided to give you a few tips on what you need to know.

1. The sale begins at 10 am--get there at 7:30. Yes, you do need to be there more than two hours before the doors open if you want a PS tote. Last August, we each got two. Call us greedy, but we woke up seriously early to be the first on line so we felt that we deserved more than one each.

2. Make friends with your fellow line-standers. If you do, you might be invited to do some trading once inside-ya know, floral tote for leather tote, suede vest for printed skirt. You will need allies in order to get something that you love.

3. Move quickly. Spend no time debating while going through the racks; pick it up and use it for trading later. Better to have more in your hands than less.

4. Be kind. If you notice that you have become a complete hoarder, holding way more Proenza than you can carry, look around the room for the sad little Proenza fan that really, really needs a helping hand. Do you really need all four of those totes?

Those our our 'rules of thumb,' if you will. And if we were going to be there, we would certainly be following them. After-all, if you see how well we made out last year, you would know why.

The Bergdorf film [aka Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf Goodman] is set to release at the beginning of May, but last night we caught a glimpse of what's in store via Racked NY. The first thing we noticed?? None other than our favorite Kaiser sitting against a white couch, his silver hair shining like the moon. So naturally we felt the need to plug this preview, if for no other reason than just to hear King Karl's voice.

Seems like the people who run the Jil Sander sample sale finally came to terms with the fact that calling this sale 'Private' would not keep even the most timid Jil fans away. Dedicated shoppers have been taking the chance of not getting into this sale for the past couple of years, and they do indeed always seem to let everybody in--SIPs and VIPS alike. But now the Jil Sander peeps are done playing mind games with us simpletons because this time around the sale is publicly open to the public (one day after the VIP preview, that is).

Just don't forget what happened at October's sale with that attempted line cutter... We wouldn't wanna see anybody get hurt...

Target's at it Again...

Celebrity stylist Kate Young is Target's newest sweetheart and come April 14, their marriage will result a limited edition collection of semi-formal and special occasion dresses. This idea of a collaboration with a stylist is off the beaten path for Target. Their special edition collections are always formed with a designer. Or maybe this path will be the yellow brick road for the mega store. Perhaps they learned their lesson from the past few failed collaborations and saw the ADR x H&M as an example of non designer collab-success? We seem to think so.

Prices for this unhavoc-worthy collection will range from $10 to $90. Here's a sneak peak of the collection.

So as promised, here I am delivering the outcome of what I did with my well-earned gift-card from which a former 'rant' post also stemmed. I decided that spending more cash was just not an option, I simply refused to put this reward towards another large purchase. So what did I do, you may wonder.

I did what any savvy gal might do when placed in this sort of 'predicament'. I resorted to a purchase that kept as close to my gift-card budget as was possible, while at the same time truly rewarding myself. And what might one purchase from a high-end department store for around a hundred bucks that would really be rewarding? Not makeup, not a simple tee, but instead a pair of sunnies. Yep, sunnies I say, just in time for the sunny weather. So now I enjoy my brand new Ray-Ban aviators, majority of the expense paid for by Bergorf Goodman.

Kohl's is taking H&M's place in the world of collaborations. The next havoc-worthy designer on their collab-roster is no other than Catherine Malandrino. Her collection is set to debut this September--just in time for Fall shopping.

Kohl’s first launched its designer collab initiative, DesigNation, back in November of last year with a collection by Narciso Rodriguez. As for its sophomore collab, they announced that Derek Lam would be next in line. Lam's collection is set to debut on April 5th and we cannot wait to see what the collection will look like.

The concept of DesigNation simply means that the collection will be inspired by a country of the designer's choice. Rodriguez chose Istambul, Lam chose Rio de Janeiro, and now Malandrino chose France. "Every woman in America has a French dream in her head, especially a Parisian one," Malandrino told WWD.

Spend More Earn More Gift-Cards: Yay or Nay?

You would tend to think that these gift cards are perhaps the greatest things department stores give back to their customers, as did i. Yet then I began to question these so-called "gifts" this morning, as I noticed that I have two weeks left until my well-earned reward expires to one very hoity toity upper east side department store. I was just there, making a large enough purchase to earn back a hundred smackeroos and here I am feeling pressured to return and utilize my gift for being such a good patron. And yes, $100 is a lot of money to spend, but not when the average price of a pair of designer shoes costs around $400 these days. Basically this gift card will allow me to purchase 1/4 of a shoe, and I would have to come up with the rest of the cash that, frankly, I don't have since I just made a purchase large enough to acquire one these gifts in the first place.

Now what's a girl to do? I can either go back to the department store and pick something up for as close to a hundred bucks I could find, whether it be some makeup or a t-shirt, because--let's face it--a designer tee costs that much these days. OR I can scrounge up some more money and make a large purchase, utilizing this reward in just the way the store had intended.

Make no mistake, I am not complaining about spending the money in the first place; it was clearly my choice to do so. And of course it made me ecstatic the moment the saleswoman handed me my bonus. But now the pressure is simply on. Instead of hacking off the hundred dollars from my original purchase, I now have a choice to make. And stay tuned, because I have twelve days to do so and I plan to report back.

British shoe designer Kurt Geiger graced the NYC shoe obsessed with a shop on Bleeker Street about a month ago, and today I finally got the chance to check it out. I have been a gawker of his shoes--mainly because of the havoc-worthy price point--since I saw them in British Vogue over a year ago, so naturally I was excited to see what was in store (pun intended or not depending on your mood).

I was instantly consumed by the mass amounts of white that engulfed the displays. White shoes are obviously trending right now, so I decided to jump on the trend bandwagon and hunt for my own pair.

After a stalemate of sample sales, things are finally starting to pick up and we couldn't be more happy. And just as bears start to come out of hibernation this time of year, the sales do too.

Lets start with this week. Currently Nanette Lepore, Escada, and Club Monaco are hosting their sales. And even though these sales are near end, we can guarantee fighting with hoarders over discounted merch will definitely be worth it.

Keep yourself busy on Thursday with Fenton-Fallon and Surface to Air sales. Both will definitely be great sales and relatively hoarder-free so you could shop in peace.

Say goodbye to peace this weekedn and say hello to havoc. On Saturday, CP Fashion Group will be hosting a multi-brand sample sale from brands like Pierre Balmain, Karl Lagerfeld, and Just Cavalli and on Sunday, Oscar de la Renta will be having his sample sale. Expect deals on evening gowns of up to 80% off. Weekend crowds are generally fierce and attract the lurkers because there is nowhere to rush to after the sale. So be prepared to be a lurker or a lurkee on this upcoming weekend.

Oh that's just the tip of the iceberg. Roger Vivier has already announced his sale on April 5th and as April comes close, more sales pop up out of nowhere. Remember the Jimmy Choo sale came out of left field last year?

Mizhattan has recently reported that Saturday will inaugurate a sample sale consisting of Balmain, Just Cavalli, and--drumroll please--Karl Lagerfeld Paris apparel.

Yep, the Kaiser is permitting his line to be discounted and sold at a sample sale organized by CP Fashion Group in midtown.

Last time Karl popped up we really had a good time, so we wonder what kind of fun this Karl-filled happening might bring in. And although this sale does not include the KARL by Karl Lagerfeld brand, we'll be crossing our fingers hoping that a few KARL dolls might make discounted appearances...

Moncler Gamme Rouge Created an Unforgettable Winter Wonderland

It might have been drizzling on the streets of Paris yesterday, but at the Moncler Gamme Rouge show, it was snowing. Giambattista Valli brought us into his version of a winter wonderland and we couldn't be more happy. The show had it all--an iceberg backdrop, a fake blizzard, and some sexy models zip-lining down the snowy runway. Valli even threw a few dogs into the mix. And the most havoc worthy part of the show? Fake polar bears closed the show to a Beach Boys song .

I was looking through the latest collections to come out of Paris when that question entered my mind. To be specific, it was the Alexander McQueen Fall Ready-To-Wear collection that I was in the midst of examining. As I went through each look I kept thinking, "Who would be able to wear this?"

Yes indeed there are the Daphne Guinnesses and Anna Dello Russos of the fashion world, both women effortlessly pulling off over-the-top clothing on a daily basis. The thought of wearability probably never enters their minds. Yet it enters mine and I would assume yours as well. Obviously thinking about this while seeing an Alexander McQueen show is a bit different than raising this question while watching a Celine collection come down the runway. Yet nonetheless, many of the greatest and most wearable collections tend to have some look that just seems impossible to translate into a wardrobe.

No matter how much we might adore a certain coat or pair of long mink boxing gloves, I find that we do tend to hold ourselves back when it comes to certain looks. And no matter how stylish one might be, most of us set some sort of restriction on our wardrobe, except maybe when it comes to a special occasion.

So I guess what I am really getting at is is this: Should these collections be semiotically coded as Ready-To-Wear?

Perhaps the phrase Ready-To-Admire, or Ready-To-Consider, or Ready-To-Glorify might be considered.

What Happened to the WOW Mr. Wang?

Damn it Al, we were really rooting for you. But we are sorry to say that we were, at most, underwhelmed by what has been presented as your first collection for Balenciaga. We waited and waited since the label's announcement of your takeover, wondering how your aesthetic would translate. And when we saw what you had in store for your own label's AW2013 collection, we were overjoyed and excited. Those mink boxing gloves? Brilliant. You took risks yet still stayed true to your designs.

But when it came to your first stab at designing for a house that blends eccentricity with wearability oh so well, we were sort of thrown off. Not to say that your designs are not absolutely beautiful, and some of the pieces truly are Balenciaga-esque. However simple beauty does not equal Balenciaga. Had this been a collection for Alexander Wang, our opinions would probably be different. We would be impressed by your transition into a more serious side. But again, this was not for Alexander Wang, this was for Balenciaga, and we feel that you have played it a bit too safe. The house of Balenciaga has been anything BUT safe, especially since the Nicolas Ghesquiere takeover. Perhaps the downplay is what they had in mind when they hired you in his stead. If that is the case, the havoc-worthy brand we love to look at might not be so havoc-worthy after all.

Fashion's Night Out is going on a hiatus. The Vogue sponsored shopping night is apparently calling it quits this year and is being reevaluated on how profitable this night really is to retailers. What was once a night created to drive sales during the recession seemingly turned into a nightmare for stores--stores had to put out tons of money in order to attract customers into their store.

So no more free champagne and cupcakes, pop up shops, celebrity appearances, or live music. And sorry boys, you are going to have to figure out another way to pick up the ladies this year.

RIP Fashion's Night Out. Hopefully you'll be resurrected in 2014.

Havoc-Worthy Collaboration Alert!

I know I know, normally when we say collaboration we are usually referring to one that regards high/low, designer/discount, and couture/complete steal. However my morning was just like any other until I read a tweet about two of the most unbelievable avant gardes and their latest baby, so i felt an instant need to share.

The androgyny loving artists Tilda Swinton and David Bowie have come together on the latter's latest single "The Stars (Are out Tonight)", in which Ms. Swinton (aka David Bowie's doppelganger) plays his 'Stepford-esque looking' wife. Many more awesome things are happening in this video, and it truly feels like a five-minute reversion back to the 80's glam era when things were just so theatrical. Yet in any event, when two of the kookiest, coolest, and absolute chicest people in the realm of entertainment collaborate on a project, it is totally noteworthy not to mention havoc-worthy.
