Being The Booker: Wrestlemania 27

Wrestlemania is less then a week away so for my first Being The Booker we will be booking the big show. Basically i am going to go through how i would book these match's.
Cody Rhodes VS Rey Mysterio

  This should be a solid match Cody is not the best worker but he's decent and well we all know how high standards Rey has for himself in the ring match to match. It is important that the opener of every show is good it sets the pace and a standard for the rest of the event you have to start and finish strong. I personally cannot say i am the biggest fan of this angle but it has been presented well on Smackdown Dusty coming in was a nice touch as well.

John Morrison, Trish Stratus and Snooki VS Lay Cool and Dolph Ziggler

   I have no idea what a Snooki is and no offense to anyone i will most likely be making a sandwich during this match. But to quickly review why i have Morrison going over Ziggler is simply because these two have to hold this match and deserve the spot light more then anyone else involved. I do not like believing Snooki whatever that is will finish this match by pinning a wrestler but we already saw the abomination of Vikki Guerrero pinning John Morrison and i know WWE always makes the celebrities look good. I can not say that celebrities are a bad thing to have in the business but the should stay in the peripherals and not in the match's by saying anyone can jump in and wrestle diminishes the products credibility.

   Every ones Question is why CM Punk over Orton well its very simple is if Orton wins what do you do with Punk from their WWE had Orton punt the new Nexus back to FCW. What happens if Punk wins well he's made a win over one of the biggest stars in the company at Wrestlemania. Don't get me wrong i am a huge Randy Orton fan and predict him to win and WWE to continue to push a small key group of guys something i as a fan can never understand. CM Punk winning would do huge things for his career Randy Orton loosing i really do not think it will change much he is still Randy Orton and is a established star.

I think this will be a very good match both guys are solid workers the fact that their is this match is good for their careers its going to be huge exposure. Why have Sheamus win well Sheamus needs to be rebuild up from all the squashing the WWE has done to his character in the last few months. I like Daniel Bryan Danielson but he has been walking around with the U.S Title for the last few months and they have given him nothing to do with it if Bryan regains the title where do we go from their he sits were he was already and it begins to get stale. Bryan need to move on to new things and so does Sheamus and this is the best way to book it.

This match has to have the biggest build up on RAW week after week they have built this thing because they need to the match quality will not be very good but this should be a fun match i see Austin stunning everyone and him and Lawler drinking beer before the show moves on.

Why have Edge win because it actually makes alot of sense if you think about it Del Rio is a star but he is not ready yet give him some tenure with the company and some big feuds and make him credible like they are doing now and he will be ready to hold a tv show. I personally like Del Rio and as a fan do not want to see him on the top anymore but thinking about it from the position of a booker of promoter Del Rio's time will come no need to rush it Edge is a big star and his time is short Del Rio just being their is doing huge things for his career. Wrestling fans be patient Del Rio will be on top sooner rather than later.

I personally have respect for John Cena but dislike his rapper hip hop gimmick i do not believe it has a place in wrestling but that's just my opinion but Cena is established at Wrestlemania if he looses it changes nothing he is still a big star no matter what. If Miz wins just like Punk hes made he is instantly a huge star. If Rock interferes with the match it only continues WWE's biggest thing right now Rock VS Cena. Keep it going if you can.

I do not see Undertaker ever loosing at Wrestlemania i could never imagine the WWE doing that but if they did i hope it would be done for a young talent to be instantly made forever. This match will be the best of the night and needs to be the main event these two are vets and huge stars i cannot say i have ever been a big Triple H fan but he can tell a great story in the ring these two will take the fans on a roller coaster that no other match on this card can follow. The fact that it's a no holds barred match only makes me thing that Triple H is going to make Undertaker literally hit him with the kitchen sink. Ten years ago these two put on a great match and we should only expect the same.

#6 WWF Intercontinental Championship Old Design

For a Time in the WWF this belt was almost as big as the world title. Huge stars over so many years have had this title. The belt design showed above is the best ever design for a mid card championship why the WWF had Steve Austin throw it off a bridge i will never understand this belt design added to the credibility of the championship it looks like a world title belt. When The Ultimate Warrior walked into Wrestlemania 6 with this title champion vs champion match the WWF Intercontinental Heavyweight Championship was as big as the WWF World Heavyweight Championship. That says huge things for the title it is truely sad to see this championship in its current state but its a different time today and no disrespect to the talent holding the championship recently i dislike the way the title is book in present day.

Why Won't TNA pick a Guy and Run With Him?

TNA Wrestling wants to use talent established usually in the WWE because of their face recognition
WWE talent displayed on their stage is naturally a bigger star. With TNA using old WWE stars is it diminishing the visual value of the TNA brand name right now TNA looks like the WWE graveyard.
Any wrestling promotion during its early stages ran with one superstar to be the franchise and the big draw. WCW used Ric Flair in the early days WWF Hulk Hogan was he flag bearer when they took off. For the WWF rebirth Stone Cold Steve Austin was the face of the company and now WWE runs with Cena as their guy. Why Can't TNA pick a guy and roll with him first you need a big heel that can create heat and have the new baby face star of the company that will be pushed to the top and run through all the heels in the company and chase my main heel for the World Belt. It should be that easy WWE is doing it right now Miz has lots of heat and the WWE knows it he gets good crowd reactions and is over as a heel so its easy Cena chases Miz for the WWE Championship concluding at Wrestlemania.

Why not run with one of these two?

Kurt was arrested earlier today while drving a motorcycle intoxicated. He was found in the middle of the road sitting beside the bike claiming he hit a ice patch. I do not want to judge people but can't these celebrities hire someone to drive them with all their money.

#22 Booker T

Can You Digg it Sucka???? Five Time WCW World Heavyweight Champion Booker T. For roughly fifteen years Booker was exciting and entertaining on WCW or WWF/E every week. Staring with Harlem Heat with his brother in a tag team Booker T built himself up with the fans by having quality match's every week with good workers like Eddie Guerrero for example. I really do not believe WCW management had plans to give Booker the WCW World Title at any point but when their roster began to dwindle more and WCW lost bigger name they pushed in our faces for years management looked to younger talent and anyone could see how over Booker T was with the WCW fan base. When WCW was purchased by WWE/F i couldn't see why he would not be picked up and Booker really learned how do great promo work their. The tag team of Booker T and Golddust made for some hilarious promo work

Now he is doing announcing on Smackdown every week you cannot say bookers good yet but Booker's getting their and learning i really hope he has a long and strong career as a WWE announcer.

#23 Vader

It's Vader time. Former WCW Champion Vader is number twenty three and Vader was a monster six foot six four hundred and fifty six pounds but Vader could move surprisingly well for a man his size. Starting his career in the AWA leaving the NFL where he was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams to go to the AWA Vader soon found his way into WCW and became a big drawn gaining him a title shot where he defeated Sting for the WCW Heavyweight Championship although Vader's reign as champion was cut short because of a knee injury then soon after Vader dropped the title too Ron Simmons. Vader also won the All Japan Pro Wrestling AJWP World Heavyweight Championship wrestling as Big Van Vader which leads to my main point about how Vader drew money all over in Japan, WCW and WWF/E.

Desmond Wolfe Sick or Injured

Desmond Wolfe one of TNA's best young talents hasn't been around TNA TV for quite a while now the speculation out in the world is that Desmond is injured with a concussion I've also heard that he may have a undisclosed illness the comical rumor is that he failed a drug test. Very funny because TNA does not do drug testing example Jeff Hardy. Personally i don't think it is any of our business as fans what his personal ails are the reality of the situation is one of the best technical wrestlers in the world today is not on TV. Their was actually talk of Wolfe going to WWE but they opted out because of Wolfe's medical issues. Now theirs always the possibility that the dummies who run TNA do not think Desmond Wolfe is good enough for TNA TV because he was not established in WWE or WCW and that's all the Hogan regime wants to care about.

I really hope for our and Wolfe's sake that he is not sick or have concussion issues. We all know the problems in the sports world today with concussions and wrestling does not need to join that conversation. I think this is a big blow to wrestling today from the moment i saw Desmond Wolfe in ROH wrestling as Nigel Mcguiness wich i believe is his real name. I have always looked at him as someone who is talented enough with the right guidance and company behind him could become a huge star. It's just a bad situation and we should all hope to see Desmond on TV soon i know i do.

#7 ECW World Heavyweight Championship

I have always loved this title design it fit the companys style so well. I was always a huge ECW fan when i was much younger and was not old enough to understand the negative effect it was having on the business but thats for anotehr blog. This title was held by stars like Terry Funk, Tazz, Raven, Sandman and many more. The ECW title was never the same after WWE took over and gave the belt to Bobby Lashly but before then ECW's world belt meant you where the face of the #3 wrestling company and that was a big thing in th 90's.

#24Christian Cage

Christian is the WWE biggest miss with a singles star i believe ever. I may recieve some heat for putting Christian on this list because he hasent accomplished things like winning the WWE title, I dont care if i get heat for it Christian is damn good he has very solid mic skills and in his day he could hang with the best when talking about in ring ability. WWE thought Christian was and is too small for the main event and myself and alot of other fans could not disagree more.

Enough said about Christian as a singles star he was part of probably the best tag team the WWF/E has ever had Edge and Christian had great matchs with the top tier tag teams at the time when the tag division was booming. They walked out of Wrestlemania's with tag titles and put on memorable TLC matchs with the Dudleys and Hardys. Christian should have risen to greater levels as a singles star but that isnt his fault its someone in booking missing out on a opportunity and a payday.

Undertaker going through the motions i dont think so!

Some people seem to think that the Undertaker may still be injured and will give us a weak match at Wrestlemania 27 with Triple H. The only person who can answer this question is Taker himself of course. If you are even a small fan of wrestling you have seen a Undertaker match at some point and he has never and i mean never just simply gone through the motions i believe he is way to proud of a man escpecially at Wrestlemania where he every year puts on a amazing show in a epic match.

Triple H and Undertaker i believe will be the best match on the card i have never had the most amount of love for Triple H but no one can question he can tell a great story in the ring hes experienced and will hold a great match at Wrestlemania escpiecially working with someone like Undertaker. I expect this match to be the main event i dont see how any other match on the card could be the main event except Miz Cena and i really dont see how that one will go over as the main event. Either fans boo because Miz wins and hes a heel or woopty doo Super Cena wins another championship at another Wrestlemania nothing against Cena but who cares we have all seen that again and again and again! Yes we have all seen Undertaker win at Wrestlemania but Taker is such a big star now that fact hes working Wrestlemania in a huge match makes it a worth while main event hes becoming that big in the business and become that important too WWE.

#25 Randy Orton

Randy Orton has it he has a great look amazing in ring work and when the WWE lets him talk he can be a great talker. Randy Orton has been one of the best presented heels ever the legend killer gimmick was amazing and worked well for him and it fit his manerisms. Randy is a third generation star his father and grand father where wreslters and Randy has lived around the business his entire life. From Evolution too the Legend Killer to being the Viper now Randy has and always will be entertaining and hes not done Randy will be in the business for probably another fifteen years working and by the end will be one of WWE's biggest stars ever. I personally do not like what bookings doing with him right now but that's not Randy's fault or should take anything away from him. Randy is a huge talent and a victim of the current state of the wrestling business he is as good as anybody ever.

Why i do not think The Rock will wrestle again

All of the internet wants to talk about The Rock returning to face Cena and i personally do not see it happening. The question that first comes to mind is why well The Rock has worked so hard not to be considered a wrestling person anymore the world of hollywood has certain stigma's about the business and does not look at people labeled pro wrestlers as professional actors. If Rock steps back into the ring to wreslte a match he goes right back to being considered a wrestler by the media. I am sure Dwaynes handlers are telling him not to step back into the ring to work a match because it would be a step backwards in the hollywood world. Do not get me wrong i would love nothing more than to see Rocky wrestle again but it is what it is. Dwayne used the business as a launching pad for a Hollywood career and did it well also he had accomplished well everything in the wrestling business in a short time theirs no more titles to win and theirs no more mountains to climb for the people champ. His return is to do something special for the WWE fans who he always had a connection with. Jim Ross said the one thing Dwayne missed most about the business was the feeling he recieved from the live audiance every night he would go out.

In Conclusion i do not see The Rock stepping back in the ring and i dont think he needs to it would be nice but slow his movie careers momentum it is easy to be forgotten in Hollywood and thats something he does not want to happen. Sometimes reality sucks but this is most likely the reality of the situation.

He probably wont bring it.

#8 WCW United States Championship

In my opinion this is one of the best title designs ever the current US title looks like a childs toy. This belt had a great design and huge amounts of crediblity it was WCW's Mid Card title during their hayday. Kurt Henning, Bret Hart, Scott Hall, Scott Steiner, Goldberg are just some of the stars that held the United States Heavyweight Championship in WCW. WWE needs to bring this title back to its former credibility and it all starts with going back to this belt design in my opinion.

Maybe the Biggest Botch Fest Yet?

TNA's Victory Road 2011 was maybe the worst pay per view i have ever seen lets forget about the Jeff Hardy Sting match enough has been said about that but the rest of the card was almost as bad as that match. The TNA Knockouts Tag Team title match was the worst women's match i have personally ever seen. If you didnt watch it dont it thats bad Rosita was about to hit winter with the belt but Velvet Sky was to run in and steal the belt out of here hands it took maybe 2 minutes for Velvet to hit the ring Rosita stood their in Limbo holding the belt behind her head ready to hit winter for 2 minutes it was embarressing to say the least. Then Rosita is to roll up Winter and get the pin the Ref was so out of position it took him about 40 seconds to get their as 90 pound Rosita rolled up Winter for the pin my god was it bad.

Matt Morgan vs Hernandez first blood match i watched this match for masiquistic reasons knowing it would be this bad and i was wrong it was worse then i ever could have expected. TNA needs new camera men first they show Kurt Angle blading and now Hernandez gimmicking it cant get much worse than this fire them. That was bad but their ring work was worse and the finish even worse than the ladder Hernandez throws fake blood on Matt Morgan's chest the ref runs in looks to Hernandez who has blood on his face and ignores that turns to look at Morgan second and sees the blood on his chest and gives Morgan the loss. Stupid doesnt even come close to explaining the embarressment this match caused the product.

RVD vs Mr Anderson this is tough because i like these two but they put on a crappy botch fest match at one point Anderson even yells out i meant to do that when he made a blatant mistake. The finish was a double count out and fans where chanting bullshit and restart the match good job Vince Russo and the booking department! Matt Hardy and AJ Styles was the only match worth watching on this card and it had botchs of its own but their was some good spot from AJ and Matt was solid putting AJ over.

In conclusion TNA get your shit together! It's easy dont rob your fans with double count outs dont put people who have drug problems and are unreliable in your main events or even on your roster. If some of your talent is unable to hold matchs they shouldnt be on pay per view test the water on Impact see if they canhold matchs.

Are you a Believer Yet? The Miz has been WWE Champion far longer than anyone expected now and is working a huge Wrestlemania program with The Rock which is giving Miz huge exposure. So the WWE is giving Miz the big push so the first question is why hes not their typical talent they push to the stars hes 6ft tall and 200 pounds. Well its simple Vince thinks the money is in the talkers and Miz can talk he has room to improve but the WWE has their greenest product ever. The WWE is going with Miz anyone can see that but does he deserve it and the answer is absolutely The Miz worked hard to get where he is he was given a dumb gimmick and would have never been expected to be where he is today. Hard work dedication and good mic skills have taken Miz to the level he is on today.

I see Miz turning babyface in the next year or so and becoming a huge fan favourite and wouldn't be suprised if he was main eventing Wrestlemania next year as a baby face Miz. I cannot tell you how far The Miz has come since he started on Smackdown as the host many years ago. Mike was looked at as a reality star who would become nothing in the WWE by fellow wrestlers and fans now hes proven himself to the other talent and too the fans and we can see the WWE has decided he is one of the guys for the future so expect to see more Miz.

WWF World Tag Team Championship

When these belts where in circulation it meant the world to be tag team champions not like today. Everyone from the The Hart Foundation to the Hardy boys Wore these belts i still to this day cannot understand why they retired these belts that where created in 1973 and the first reign was held by Luke Graham and Tarzan Tyler the WWE Unified Tag Championships date back to 2002 and first held by Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit no offence to those two but the long history should be upheld.

These titles had a great design with the eagle that matched the other titles in circulation in the WWF at the time and a great history behind them i really feel the WWE tag titles lost credibility when this belt design was retired.

#10 NWA World Television Championship

Through WCW this original looking old school designed title was held by some huge stars before Crockett left the NWA and the title basically became the WCW World Television Championship. Jake Roberts was the first TV champion but he is one of many legends to have the title Dusty Rhodes, Tully Blanchard, Arn Anderson, Steve Austin, Ricky Steamboat, Sting and even the Great Muta. The history of the championship the design with the abc and CBS logos the eagle and the legacy theirs no question this is a great championship belt.

Why are we Blaming The Talent?

You probably already know if your on this website but at Victory Road TNA's march 2011 pay per view the main event was Jeff Hardy challenging Sting for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship and when Jeff Hardy went to the gorilla position everyone realized Jeff Hardy was too high to perform and when he entered to the ring you clearly saw Earl Hebner make a motion to the back Eric Bischoff came out made the match a no DQ match and spoke to both Sting and Hardy off mic. When the match started Sting hit a scorpion death drop on Hardy and held in the pin when Hardy tried to kick out ending the match in about 88 seconds. It was taken by fans as a slap in the face that the main event was this short and a lie because they where robbed the main event they where promised.

So who's fault is this? Everyone seems to want to blame Jeff Hardy and i personally cannot agree with that. Jeff Hardy's demons are not for us to judge as fans that is his business for him and his family. TNA is to blame for this and why you ask because they allowed it to happen. If Jeff Hardy is unable to perform TNA should not employ him even with him being as big of a draw as he is .Dixie Carter is to blame because she runs the show and is responsible for what happens on the show simple as that. I worked as a salesmen for a time and do you think my boss would allow me on the floor stoned. No he would fire me because i represent the company and i would be embarrassing the company.

Few main events at this level have been botched at this level and ownership in the company is responsible for your wasted money not Jeff Hardy the reasons are really unimportant in my opinion anyway the main thing is this happened and TNA has alot of work to do to get this wrestling mark to spend another dollar on anything to do with TNA after that.

What Happened To my Jobbers?

What happened to my jobbers? People consistently say that wrestling company's cannot build up matches and stars. One of the best old school ways of building up stars was by having your stars run through no name talent like a hot knife through butter. You as a fan saw your favourite Star on the weekly show and this new talent from the indies or FCW just received world wide TV exposure.

Watching Smackdown tonight we saw the continuation of a new talent with a interesting and different look in Brodus Clay working a program where he jobs out for Edge so Alberto Del Rio will not actually have to step in the ring with Edge and the feud continues to be built up not a bad idea but why have Clay a man this big loosing every match. Yes i do understand he is loosing to established stars like Edge and Christian but this is just making Brodus Clay look weak going forward. But if you truly want to bring Brodus Clay out and make him a star he needs something to first give him credibility like a manager who can talk for him and to run through some jobbers. I mean my god Goldberg got over with 3 minute match's. He was beating everyone by the end WCW was hiring guys off the street to go job for Goldberg in a 86 second match's on Nitro.

Every wrestler in every company has seem to have met already theirs really nothing left they all have competed with each other. Why you ask theirs fewer jobbers and since the monday night wars everyone assumes Raw has to have a main event quality match every week. No save it for your pay per views save the big match combinations for Wrestlemania. All i am saying is keep the big stars apart build to a large scale match between them and you will draw more money and fans.
