Zema Ion’s girlfriend Jessica Recco has launched a fundraising drive to help defray the medical cost that has been stacked up since needing an emergency appendectomy. Zema is also expected to have an additional surgery in the future.

The former X-Division champion does not currently have medical insurance, so he’s out of pocket for all expenses.

Here is an excerpt from the posting:

“Michael Paris (Zema Ion of TNA Wrestling) was recently rushed to the hospital and unexpectedly diagnosed with an appendicitis. While examining his condition through cat scans, doctors discovered that the 26-year-old also has a 5 cm tumor located on his colon. While we are currently waiting for the biopsy results to determine whether or not the tumor is cancerous, Paris will soon have to undergo another surgery to remove it. In the meantime, we are trying to fight for a way to afford to keep him healthy and pay his growing medical expenses. Paris does not have health insurance, so the costs for these surgeries and hospital stays are going to be extremely expensive for him. Please help us to afford this effort and pitch in any way possible! Michael Paris is a recent graduate of West Virginia University and the oldest of three children raised by their single mother, who came to the US as a mail order bride from the Philippines. Paris began chasing his lifelong dream of becoming a professional wrestler at age 16, and after 9 years of hard work, he was signed to a contract with TNA Wrestling in 2011. Paris can currently be seen on TNA’s television show, Impact Wrestling, which airs Thursday nights on Spike TV. WWE announced that there will be a 30-minute Extreme Rules post-show on Sunday night in addition to the pre-show.

The post-show and pre-show will be available on the WWE website, Youtube, Twitter, Facebook, XBox 360, and the official WWE App. Here is an excerpt from their announcement:

Everything regarding CM Punk’s return to action is being kept quiet within WWE. A lot depends on how well his knee heals up but it will be interesting to see if he returns on Monday’s RAW from Canada because that was the most recent date officials wanted him back. Punk would need to return soon if he’s going to have a match on the June 16th Payback pay-per-view, as planned before.

The Rock spoke with CBS Cleveland reporter Chris Van Vliet to promote Fast 6 and says he’s confident his last wrestling match was against John Cena at WrestleMania 29.

Rock called WrestleMania 29 a dream scenario but had this to say about his most recent run with WWE:

“The 4 month run I had in WWE was really eye opening. I was able to see a lot of young talent that are very hungry and very humble. What’s interesting is there were some talent there who, it’s just the nature of the business, have become very sour grapes and miserable. The younger guys were very excited and there was that hunger that reminded me of myself 10 to 15 years ago when I first started.”

Rock also gave props to The Shield, Fandango and more.

A fan on Twitter asked former WCW and WWE star Bill Goldberg if he could spear anyone in WWE, who would it be? Goldberg replied and said Triple H:

“Hunter…..hands down…..RT”

The fan replied with the following tweet and Goldberg said his observation was “spot on”:

“any particular reason or just the overall doucheness and politicking he exhibits?”

Another fan asked Goldberg when he would be coming back to WWE. He replied, “When they learn how to run a business.”

Finally, a fan asked Goldberg if he would come back to WWE and feud with Ryback. The former World Heavyweight Champion replied, “…..if they knew how to do business I’d consider it…..”

- WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy Snuka turns 70 years old today while ECW Original The Blue Meanie turns 40.

- The Pittsburgh City Council declared Friday as “Bruno Sammartino Day” this week. Bruno appeared at the Allegheny County Courthouse to be honored on the 50th anniversary of winning the WWWF Title.

- Linda McMahon was at the WWE TV studios yesterday to film interviews for upcoming DVD’s. She later confirmed on Facebook she was filming for the History of WWE DVD. She tweeted:

“Back at the #WWE studios taping some interviews for future DVDs. Such a talented team and an amazing facility!”

The WWE developmental releases on Friday came as a complete surprise to everyone. Brandon Traven was tweeting about last night’s NXT live event just four hours before he was tweeting about being released.

Russian Diva Anya, who has been out of action with an arm injury, noted that she’s not giving up on professional wrestling. She re-tweeted this message from a fan:

“Kind of shitty that they would release Anya while injured, but that’s life, I suppose.”

Derrick Bateman has already been announced to “return home” for the Absolute Intense Wrestling internet pay-per-view on June 30th from Cleveland, Ohio. He’s appearing under his real name, Michael Hutter.

- Sakamoto, who was originally paired with Tensai, was released by WWE this morning. Sakamoto was signed back in 2011 after originally breaking into the business under TAKA Michinoku in Japan.

- WWE has also released developmental Diva Audrey Marie, who was signed back in 2011 after being recruited by WWE and trained in the system.

Zema Ion sent out a tweet earlier this week, stating that he had been rushed to the hospital for severe stomach pains.

“Good morning! Ended up goin to the hospital afterall last night. And long story short….it was one of the smartest things i could have done”

Since then, Zema has provided an update on his condition through Facebook, confirming appendicitis. Further tests have also shown that Ion has a tumor, for which he will require more surgery.

“I’m alive! Seriously thank you all for the get well wishes. Means the world to me. I was rushed to the hospital lasts night for sharp stomach pains i was having. I couldnt stop puking. For like 9 straight hours. I didnt wanna go to the hosptial, but the pain was too much to handle. Thank god i went, as i ended up having appendicitis and had to have my appendix removed today. I consider this a blessing in disguise too, coz the cat scans also revealed that i have a tumor on my colon and will eventually need another surgery to try and remove it. Hoping it is not cancerous. Pray for me! This really sucks lol”
