The Congress government was supposed to be for the common man. But it seems they have betrayed, rather destroyed their main theme, “the common man.” Today, the basic amenities are made available to everyone but the common man. The most basic amenities such as water, electricity and shelter seem to be a distant luxury for the common man. It has now become difficult to believe the government who proclaims, “Food, water and electricity is the basic right of the citizen of India and that nobody can deny it.”

Ever since the NDA government came to power, the common man has suffered the most. The common man not only bears the brunt of paying taxes but also gets crushed by rising realty rates.

“Buying a flat these days has become very difficult. In just 2 years the rates have increased a lot. In fact in some locations they have reached the sky. ‘IT and IT enabled services’ Professionals beware. What you get is not always what you will get.

When you get your offer letter, you will be pleased to find out an impressive looking figure on it. You would also notice that the letter also mentions your salary break-up. The accounts personnel would probably explain you the basic calculations. But you prefer not to talk about it then. At the moment you are overjoyed by winning the bargain. You are on a high. You are delighted and you want to celebrate your victory.

But what happens when you get your first salary? You are disappointed. Why? You feel cheated. Why? You are depressed. Why? Let’s find out.

Let’s say your package is 5 lacs. You know that your PF is deducted from your salary. Considering components like performance incentive, gratuity, income tax, and other standard components, when you get your salary slip, you find that there is something missing. A portion of your salary is not documented.

Surprisingly, when you calculate the missing amount, you find that it is equal to 12 times your monthly PF deduction. Hold on a minute here. Relax and unfold your salary slip. Now calculate your monthly gross income. Then annual gross and then try to confirm your CTC. You will find out yourself.

Yes! The PF deduction that shows on your salary slip is the company contribution. Your contribution is not documented on your slip. It is documented no where, not even in the offer letter or the agreement letter.

The next President of India?

“I want my president to be non-political. He/She should have a corrupt–free past record. With no compromise in intelligence, he/she should be a ‘man/woman of stature’ we can all look up to,” says 62-year-old retired central government employee Mr. Khushal Rao. No doubt a president should be intelligent. But why should he be not a member of any political party. Rajeev Mallar, a 30-year old IT-professional feels that the president should be somebody who has done the country proud. “A president who belongs to a political party would obviously support the legislative amendments proposed by his or her party. I believe the politicians are doing no good to the country and its people. They don’t even have a ‘fulfilment model’ for any of their urban development projects.”

It seems the urban population is very clear about the qualities they expect from the new president of India. They would want someone who is intellectually blessed and is well aware of the current developments in the country. However, there are some who believe the president should be a member of a political party. Aakash Vijay, a 32-year-old entrepreneur votes for a politician president. Says he, “Only a politician understands the nitty-gritty’s involved in parliamentary affairs. Appointing a non-political president would first require the government to invest in training the prospective president on legislative affairs. And by the time he understands the subtleties his term gets over. Then what do you do? Extend his term. You see, it’s not practical at all.”

As you can see, the nation is divided on their views of a prospective president. Only time will tell who’ll win the battle (backed by political parties), APJ Kalam, Pratibha Patil or Bhairon Singh Shekhawat?

There is going to be some real tough competition over the issue of presidential candidate in India for quite some time now.

What a journey it has been for me so far!

I’ve lived for more than 25 years on this planet and see what I got. Harsh criticism for the work I do for the nation. There is not a single person that I can trust. People are crazy; plain mad in this world. There is nothing more than that I can say about them. And I, I’m stuck between these people, trying to find out my true identity.

The more I try to explore the real world, the more People are coming in my way. I have thus come to a conclusion that good people cannot survive in this world. They can only rest in ‘no peace.’ If you really want to make a mark on the face of the earth, you’ve got to ‘Think Big & Think Crooked.’

By just investing your time in a “9 to 5” job, you are killing your intellectual self. There is more to life than the training we get in office or things we learn in college. Try to search your true destiny. Work towards your goals. Don’t give up on them. It may so happen ‘the more you work closely with your goals the more they seem to go far.’

Change your path. Align yourself to the route that gets you nearer & nearer to your real ambitions in life.

Introspection is the key!

BlogCamp Pune & Me

It’s been just two weeks I started blogging. I had explored the Blogosphere and did a bit of research work. I had also visited other web logs and studied them. The study was enough to help me create my own blog. I named it as Write – 2 – Know. I then got a new template from “gecko and fly” and a free domain name. Since then I regularly update my blog. I tried a bit of SEO and even worked on marketing the blog through Orkut, MSN contribute, Office network and chatting. So far so good and I thought, now that the blog is set up, I just need to keep posting. I knew that I was on the right track. And I also knew that I was missing something.

Out of the blue, I remembered that a few months back, my friend and colleague at work Mr. Tarun Chandel had once told me about the “Blog camp Pune.” He then told me, “It’s a camp conducted by bloggers for bloggers. And if you would like to know more about blogging, come to SCIT on June 16th and experience it yourself.”

Tarun was so right. I had an information overload at the “Blog Camp Pune.” I met people who shared their knowledge, their personal experiences and innovative business ideas. I was thrilled. I thought to myself, “I just started blogging and I wanted someone to guide me more on blogging.”

Really! Some things happen at the right time with the right people :)

Ah! That’s a tough one. Everyone has their own idiosyncrasies. We all have some general characteristics (GCs) common to some, which shapes our personality. However, there are other specific characteristics (SCs), which bring out our true identity. We just need to realize what suits our personality-type. Again it may vary with the kind of person you are.

Why marriage is called an institution?

Marriage is called an institution probably because the theory that we study in that institution never applies in practical life. We all divert from the larger picture and in the process overlook our small needs. Little do we realize that correcting the smaller mistakes will take us closer to the bigger goals in life?

There is no hard and fast rule here. We often think that the more we talk to our partner we will know him or her better. Robotic Love – Part 1

R1 and R2 were two robots. R1 was female and R2 male. R1 was the elegant type, delicate and bronze in colour. R2 was very masculine and had a silvery blue sheath.

R2: You know what attracted me towards you.

R1: My svelte geometric figure, my tanned skin colour and my latest operating system.

R2: Nope.

R1: Then what?

R2: You are very funny.

R1: What do you mean?

R2: Please do not misunderstand me. I mean, I like when you make silly mistakes while debugging the code. It really turns me ON.

R1: Really! Oh R2, I love you.

R2: Love you too, Baby.

Suddenly the code in R2 starts debugging automatically. R1’s feeling for R2 had reached the next level. As a result, there occurred a breach in R2’s security system. New lines of code were being inserted in R2. The brain became more and more complex. And the IQ level dropped……….

Perspectives

WE have discussions on an everyday basis. We chat with our friends, our parents, our teachers, our mentors and our peer group members. Most times we give our opinions on national and generic issues. Be it politics, sports or other topics we like to talk about it. Even if we have little knowledge on the subject we portray ourselves as EXPERTS.

I had a similar kind of a conversation with my friend a couple of days back.

He (speaking with calm): The Gandhi family has played politics like a business house. What they have done is that they have reduced the import duties on products they prefer. Little did they had a serious thought on the needs of the common man.

She (angrily): My dear friend the Gandhi family has sacrificed their lives for the country. What are you talking about? (She raged). Sonia didn’t want o enter politics. She had avoided it for a long time. Today she has sacrificed her family for the betterment of the people. Now that she is the president of the Congress Party, you want to take the credit away from her.

He (doing the right thing; never argue with a woman when she is not on bed…just kidding): Please don’t misunderstand me. I think you are just digressing from the topic here. No doubt Sonia is doing a great job. However I would like to point out that in general when the CONGRESS was in power for 50 years there has been no tangible development in their home state, UTTAR PRADESH.

She (still angry… not wanting to agree on any front): What are you talking about? The Gandhi family has given generations for the people of this nation. They have risked their lives. They knew that they were terrorists’ targets but still they did not budge. They went ahead and continued their hard work for the country.

You see what I’m trying to say here. We all want to thrust our beliefs on others. We want to convince the other person. We would like the other person to change his perspectives on the subject. In short, we want him to think like us. But one thing we forget i.e. not everyone thinks similar. We all are blessed with a unique grey cell area called as BRAIN.

The bottom line: Respect others views on certain topics; talk sensible. While making your point, make sure you do not hurt the other person’s sentiments. Instead talk effectively. Use your words carefully.

Seat Reservations?

Personally I feel that the youth of the nation should not be divided. They are one. Together they are the force of the nation. The moment we distinguish them, we divide the strength of the country. By acknowledging reservations we are making divisions in the society. Actually we are supporting the unlawful divisions made by the so called upper caste Sahukars. Hmm…… So what do we do now? Just abolish the caste system?

However to abolish the caste system, we will have to abolish the inequalities spread in the society. To do so, we need to start working at the grass root level. It is very simple to live in an urban city and talk of abolishing the caste. Little do we know about the brutal prevalence of caste in the rural areas of the country?

Where is the youth? The government? The NGOs? When people discriminate on the basis of caste. We all know what happened to the BHOTMANGE family in Khairlanji. We also know what action was taken by the government then? Or did the government take any action?

Today caste is treated as an evil. Who knows there might have been many other brutal incidents taken place in the past in the name of caste? It’s just that they were not captured by the media.

Under the British rule, we all were one. However, after independence certain affluent sections of the society took advantage and drew the caste line for their benefit. They never knew one day they would form a weaker section or a sparsely populated section of the society. It’s payback time and hence the reservations. Honestly speaking I think it’s a vicious circle. We get back what we do in the past. Or some people may call it KARMA.

Abolish caste and DIVIDE society on the basis of financial credentials. What say?
