There are potential customers searching for your current products and services online right now! Web traffic strategies utilize the skills of a team of professionals to design web sites that attract prospects to your site.

If your site does not rank high in search engine results, then prospects for your products will never find it.

Web traffic can be analyzed by viewing the traffic statistics found in the web server log file, an automatically-generated list of all the pages served. A hit is generated when any file is served. Here are tips on increasing website traffic for startups:

On-site SEO

. The most important thing is researching the correct keywords that you should be targeting. Some may be popular, but may be dominated by strong competition. Others you may be able to easily get the number 1 spot for, but they are rarely used by actual searchers. Therefore you'll need to research which keywords offer the best combination of popularity and competition, thereby allowing your site to quickly jump to the top of the list.

Off-site SEO

Off-site search engine optimization refers to everything you do to help increase your website's SEO elsewhere on the Internet. This includes:

* Social networking: Online social networking was once something mostly left to kids looking for the next hot band or a hot date. It was not an avid pursuit for Kevin Kimball, a 56-year-old who had only dabbled in a few such sites until last fall. Online anonymity (think road rage) makes it difficult sometimes to have a reasonable debate. I think that's why we need to stay away from the edges where beliefs are polarized.

* Article marketing: Article marketing is a simple process. First, you have to write an article that is of great value to the readers. Article marketing is one of the most powerful tools to promote business, products or services. Another easy & fast way to publish articles is by using article submission services.

Article marketing will bring to your blog traffic that is geared towards your blog's theme. You will also build links to your site that do not require reciprocity. These will attract those experts who would not have made it to your blog otherwise.

* Video marketing:Video marketing is all about getting your product or brand out and into the community. Provide an entertaining video and you can include your products or brand. Video marketing is the best way forward for businesses and web companies wanting to publicize their service or product profile and benefits in the fastest possible time.

There isn't anything else that comes near to the success and influence of a well-designed video marketing campaign. Video marketing enlivens the data card by presenting each mailing list's unique characteristics in a personal and creative format.

* Forums and blogs: Posting on forums and leaving comments on blogs is one way to help get your website noticed by other people and other websites within the community. If you make intelligent and thoughtful comments, then people will respect what you have to say and will visit your website or reach out to you when in need.

* PPC Campaigns: A PPC (pay-per-click) campaign is easy to set up and run on search engines and sites. But you have to know what you are doing. PPC campaign management normally stands on the total number of conversions of your website. Always remember that a visit to your website cannot be definite only with a click.

The right combination of all of the above strategies will lead to a great boost in the amount of website traffic that you see and enjoy. Not everything works for all businesses or markets, so always be sure to evaluate your strategies and campaigns for effectiveness. For more strategies, visit http://danielditzhazy.com
By Kenneth (LeadsLeap Admin)

Today we are going to discuss the common mistakes that marketers make when advertising online. By understanding these mistakes and avoiding them, I hope you can improve your success rate in any form of online advertising.

Without further ado, here is the first mistake:

1. Bark Up The Wrong Tree

I once heard a story that goes like this:

Someone once asked a notorious bank robber why he only robbed banks. The robber looked a little surprised and simply answered, ‘That’s where the money is.’

This story becomes popular in the teaching of success philosophy because that’s the essence of success in doing anything. The same principle applies to online advertising. Before you start to advertise, the first question you need to ask is, ‘which online sites does my prospects frequent?’. Whatever the answer is, your challenge is to find ways to reach out to those sites and channel the traffic to your own site.

One common thing I hear from advertisers is they think their product is for everybody. If you think that your product is for everybody and you simply advertise everywhere to get traffic, chances are most of your advertising effort may be wasted.

2. Not Having A Bait

Most advertisers simply use a hook to catch fish instead of using a bait. They have a salespage that tries to sell something and they expect people to buy. This will work if the traffic has been ‘presold’. But if the traffic arrive at the salespage without learning about your product from somewhere else, the chance of making a sale is slim. If you have a mechanism to convert them into your list, you may have a second chance. Else, you will miss them forever.

A bait system is different in the sense that the objective is not in the sales. The aim is to reach out to people who can be your potential buyer by giving them part of your product free (not just giving away a freebie to build list, but to give away part of your product to let them have an experience with what you are selling). Say if you are selling a software, you can give away a ‘lite’ version of the software.

The concept of a bait system is very simple. Basically there are only 2 groups of people, let’s call them group A and group B. Group A are those who are not interested in what you are offering. Group B are those who are interested. In Group B, there are 2 more sub-groups, Group B1 and B2. Group B1 are those who are ready to pay and Group B2 are those who are not ready to pay. Most advertisers only target Group B1. In a bait system, your target is Group B. Once you have people in Group B in your net, sales is almost guaranteed, provided you deliver true value.

3. Too technical

Everyone knows it is important to prepare a good ad, but most people are too obsessed with the technical details. One typical example is they focus too much on the ‘features’ rather than the ‘benefits’.

You may ask, what’s the difference?

Features are the language for techies whereas benefits are the language for layman. For example, if you are selling a download manager, one of the features of your product may be ‘to be able to split files into parts and download them at the same time’. If you just leave it as it is, it may not make much impact. But if you translate that feature into its benefit, that may mean that your software can ‘download files 4 times faster’. ‘Downloading files 4 times faster’ is a benefit that will appeal to normal users, as compared to telling them about the technical aspect of it.

Another example is if you are selling a course on how to create a WordPress blog, instead of advertising it as ‘how to create a WordPress blog in 1 week’, you should say ‘how to create a money-making blog in 1 week’, or if you have a testimonial to back you up, you can even say ‘how to create a blog that makes $1,337 in its first week, starting from scratch!’.

Just remember, it’s the benefits that will appeal to people, not the technical details or the process of how to do it.

4. Lack Of Following Up

Last but not least, many marketers focus on generating traffic but fail to follow up with the traffic generated. When I say ‘follow up’, I don’t just mean converting the traffic into sales. That part of following up is important, but it’s not the only follow up you need to do. Another follow up that is equally important is encouragng the traffic to promote you.

As I always said, advertising is like a fire starter. You need it to start a fire, but if you want the fire to sustain and grow big, you’ll need to tactfully position lots of charcoal around it. That ‘charcoal’ is your follow-up system that encourages your existing traffic to bring in referrals.

Well, it is something that doesn't escape many people. Getting in your car early in the morning, downing some coffee, and desperately trying to motivate yourself to complete work you hate doing is something that you're probably desperate to eliminate in your life as soon as possible.

This may well be a cliche by now, but the good news is that you can make money at home online to supplement or even replace your income. It's all made possible through blogging!

Don't we all who are Internet savvy read blogs all the time? There are literally millions of blogs out there on every conceivable topic.

However, you might not have considered yourself a blogger before! It's important to get rid of the thoughts that you are not a blogger right now, because this could be the way you are able to change your life for the better.

Instead of sneaking a peek at some blogs at your 9-to-5 job, you can be the one sitting at home and writing these blogs that other people read! That sounds really good, isn't it? Now you are thinking you are your own boss!

You'll not only be providing great content for people, you'll also be pulling in some great money that can literally change your life.

Getting rid of the doubt that you can do this is going to be an important first step. As long as you are able to compose and send an e-mail, you can be a blogger!

All you need is a tutorial that will show you step-by-step how to do this. Of course, none of this will come about unless you also have the motivation and encouragement to move forward. The absolute best place to get this online is The Niche Blogger. If you have not heard about this membership site, then it's about time you do by paying it a visit.

This membership site is good for the newbie and intermedia marketer. In fact, many of the people who join the membership site are brand-new.

The good thing is that there is a whole mix of experience levels so you are sure to be able to find help among the community whenever you need it.

The startup cost is incredibly low as well -- making sure that those who want to join to escape their jobs are able to do so. Even if you're happy with your job, it never hurts to get some added money coming in. Blogging is fun!

You are probably aware that companies spend millions and millions of dollars in order to attract customers. Part of their advertising costs online go to affiliates.

These affiliates place ads on their websites and blogs and their readers often make purchases. When readers make purchases, the blog owner makes money! It really is as easy as that.

All you need to do is be on the other end of things and become the one whose links customers buy through.

The main difference between being able to make money at home online and going to a 9-to-5 job is that you are now in business for yourself.

There is no reason to limit yourself into thinking that you have to stay at a job you don't like forever. Become your own boss and work at home in your PJs so you can do what you want to do, when you want to do it.

Writing Articles For Affiliate Programs

By Nick Kaplan

Why write articles.

Writing articles can make your affiliate pages unique and drive more traffic from the major search engines, resulting in more sales. In some instances the merchant's affiliate program may not provide you with more than a banner and a few text links.

If your traffic levels are low than this will not do much to drive traffic to your affiliate links.

If the merchant does provide you with content then this can be viewed by search engines as duplicate material depending on how many affiliates are promoting the same product with that content.

Beginning Your Article

First begin by reading all the information on the merchant's site about the affiliate program, if you are not already familiar with the product.

It is very important that you learn what it is that you are offering to your customers such as,product features, capabilities, limitations and specifications.

Many merchants will include these details with the description.

Researching your article

Use one of the many free or paid keyword suggestion tools to build your list of niche keywords.

Google Adwords, Digitalpoint and CBtrends all have really useful keyword tools which are free. Experimenting will help you discover search trends.

Testing these keywords in major search engine will give you a sense market saturation and competition.

Include Keywords In your Article

When writing for search engines your article should be keyword rich. Include long tail keyword phrases in your article title and subcategories. Product specific keyword phrases will help drive targeted traffic from search engines to your specific niche.

What to include in your article

Creating an outline will help you organize your article and supporting subcategories sequence.

Including descriptive keywords such as, size, color and dimensions in your article will further help drive targeted visitors to your site.

Helping your visitors solve a problem

When promoting affiliate programs through article writing, bring attention to product features that will help your visitors resolve a problem.

Use examples and illustrations of how these features can be applied in real life situations.

If your product is easy to use, then bring attention to why you believe it is better than similar products.

Being a full-time SEM (Search Engine Marketer) I have been conditioned like Pavlov's dog (not a pretty picture) to jump every time Google twitches. Lately Google has been doing a lot of twitching.

Specifically, the rather startling news from Google Webmaster Trends Analyst Susan Moskwa that Google has ditched PageRank from Webmaster Tools.

"We've been telling people for a long time that they shouldn't focus on PageRank so much; many site owners seem to think it's the most important metric for them to track, which is simply not true," states Moskwa. "We removed it because we felt it was silly to tell people not to think about it, but then to show them the data, implying that they should look at it."

Find more here on WebProNews.

Now, for SEO reasons or for ranking in Google's index, PageRank has long been eunuchified by Google. However, even missinga few dangling bits, history has shown us eunuchs still wheel tremendous power. PageRank is no different.

Regardless of what Google wants to happen, PageRank is still extremely important to anyone marketing on the web, especially if you're selling SEO services or operating a web business. Try selling SEO services when that little green bar on your site is pointing to PR0 or worst yet, pointing to a solid gray bar.

Obtaining a high PR7 or PR8 simply means more business and revenues... regardless of how Google is or is not using PageRank. People know how to count and they learned long ago, a ten is a lot more than a big fat zero.

Placed against a PR1 site, a PR8 will win more respect in the eyes of potential clients and can produce enormous profits for the site owner and we won't even mention the still widely practiced habit of selling links, which Google is desperately trying to stop. Total and full elimination of PageRank would be an honest start
but it will still be an uphill, if not an unwinnable battle, for Google to fully eliminate link selling.

Even with my modest sites, I have turned down a small fortune by not selling text links on any of my sites. When I had a PR6 site instead of a PR4 - those link requests were nearly doubled. So one can easily understand Google's position and the need to downplay PageRank, if they even want to put a small dent in all
this link selling and buying which is still rampant on today's web.

PageRank is Google's creation, and unless they remove it fully from their system and the Google toolbar, then PageRank still Counts. Actually, in the whole scheme of marketing your website on the net, PageRank counts big time. And in more ways than one.

There are several reasons why you shouldn't count PageRank out.

For years Google has been downplaying the importance of PageRank and states it's only one of about 200 ranking factors which determines how Google ranks its index for keywords. Obtaining top organic rankings for popular lucrative keywords in Google simply means money in the bank. Actually, even a movement of only one or two places on those first page SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages) can make a major difference to any online marketer's bottom line.

Now while you can have a lower PR number and still rank above other higher PR pages for your chosen keywords, I have even had many times when my PR drops but my actual SERPs rankings in Google goes up, mainly due to building related relevant backlinks. So PageRank counts little towards your keyword rankings but it can't be totally dismissed.

Mainly because, even if PR is just one ranking factor, in close competitive keyword battles (I am presently fighting tooth and nail for some very choice keywords) just one ranking factor such as high PR can make the difference of whether or not you get to the top spot. Big dogs are still jumping and for those of us who know
how to count, getting a number one spot in Google makes all the difference in the world.

Not only because Google controls roughly 80% of all search engine traffic, but more importantly Google has established unmatched credibility and brand recognition in the eyes of potential customers visiting your site. Web users trust Google. Web users look to Google for guidance and direction. Web users believe what
Google is telling them. In the online world, rightly or wrongly, perception is everything.

As an online marketer, I am completely amazed each day at the marketing power Google now commands with web surfers and with the general population. Google is king of online search and no other search engine even comes close to Google.

PageRank is Google's ranking system, and in the eyes of those who notice these things, it still wheels tremendous influence and power. By default, PageRank is Google's opinion of your site, and web users can count (at least to 10) and if Google believes people are still not counting when it comes to PageRank, then they are fully mistaken.

Pleasing the Search Engines

1. Search engines love updated content. Pay attention to which sites show on the first page and you will notice that among the sites in keyword competition, it is the sites with the most updated content that win out. Either write your own articles and upload your own graphics and photos or outsource the job to freelancers.

There are many freelancers who write for reasonable rates. With one good writer or writing team, you can improve your site's rankings dramatically. Make sure the writer you choose understands SEO.

2. Keyword strategies include going for those people who, instead of searching for 'weight loss' , search for 'how to lose 20 pounds fast' and other more specific terms. Do not stuff your pages with keywords. The recommended density of keywords is between 2 and 3 percent of the text on your page.

Excessive keyword phrases are not only recognizable to search engines as 'stuffing', they can ultimately affect the quality of the writing. This is where LSI comes in. LSI involves using phrases that are synonymous with your original keyword phrase. Learn about LSI!

3. The more relevant sites that link to your page, the better your rankings will be. For example, if you sell creative scrap booking products, try putting links about your self-designed scrap booking pages on sites that instruct people on how to scrap book. This is one way of 'piggy backing' on the keywords used by other sites.

Write your own articles or have a freelance writer write some for you. Submit them to article directories and allow other sites to use them providing they leave the resource box or by-line connected to the article. It is a 'scratch my back and I'll scratch yours' strategy and it works for both sides.

4. You can use your blog for more search engine marketing. If you update your blog daily and ping it with blog directories, you will see an increase in your blog's search engine rankings. Link to your site from your blog. This is another means of piggy backing.

5. Purchasing clicks on search engines is another strategy used in search engine marketing. This is how sites are placed in 'sponsored sites' at the very top of the page and along the right hand side on Google. Depending on the keywords you use for this strategy, you will have to pay a few pennies to several dollars in order to beat out your competition.

Yahoo allows you to set a daily maximum amount of money for clicks. If your site is brand new, try the lowest amount of money for a week or so to test how many clicks you get and how many sales you make from those clicks.

6. Monitor your site traffic on at least a weekly basis. Note how much of your traffic is coming from regular search engine marketing. After a couple of weeks of tracking, make small changes to optimize your site's search engine rankings. Continue looking for ways to improve on your site.

Gather all the information you can find on each of these strategies. Search engine marketing, as with all other forms of marketing, is constantly changing. Stay up to date on everything there is to know about search engine marketing and you will see your sales increase considerably!
TP says it guarantees more CONVERTING of web visitors and online advertising with very little effort or cost. So let's see how it measures up...

First impression - the site looks professional and clean, with an attractive look and feel. It is easy to read and understand. Joining TP was easy and they do offer 2 upgrade options but they are not required to gain the benefits.

The Members Area is very well laid out and intuitive - it's easy to figure out what to do after only a few minutes. You can be up and running in less than 5 minutes. Inside the site, you create links and ads - you simply enter any URL links you use into the generator and it transforms them into "Traffic Python" links.

You create ads for anything you want to promote using the Traffic Python Ad Generator, which is a breeze. You can create as many links and as many ads as you like. And they are organized in a logical way - links are displayed in the order you create them but also your 5 most recent links appear on the main page for quick reference. Also, since the link generator is the tool you'll use most, it is also right at the top of the main page when you login. Smart thinking!

After you've created at least one link and one ad, you can start to generate traffic. Just use and promote the new Traffic Python link instead of the original source link you had. Every time the Traffic Python link is clicked, the page loads followed by a cool slide-up ad window at the bottom. It displays an ad PLUS an image with your affiliate link that goes back to Traffic Python. So, if anyone clicks the Traffic Python image they see the site, and if they sign up they become your referral. It's a great viral feature because you can build referrals without even trying by using the site.

Now every time the ad window displays (your Traffic Python links get clicked) you earn credits that get YOUR ad displayed in the ad windows when other members' links get clicked. So the more clicks, the more often your ads get displayed.

And this works virally - meaning as you make referrals into Traffic Python (either by promoting it or just using it and visitors click the Traffic Python image on the ad window to join) you also earn ad credits on THEIR link clicks. And this works up to 5 levels deep. So you can create a massive amount of free ad views and web traffic by referring others to Traffic Python also.

The rest of the site works exactly as stated - your links get clicked, you earn credits, and your ads get displayed. Traffic Python even tracked your results so you know how many clicks and how many ad displays. This is an impressive unadvertised extra feature.

There is one more benefit and feature which might be the best of them all - downline emailing. You can email your downline with offers, promotions, or whatever you like, and here is where Traffic Python really shines. They took time to make the emailing often enough that it's valuable as a user, but not so often that it's a burden to your downline. But the best part about this feature (and actually the credit earning, too) is that it tells you exactly how long until you can mail again. Now THAT's cool.

Overall, Traffic Python is impressive. It is simple, yet powerful, and delivers on its promises. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to increase traffic and advertising.

You too, like the others, have decided to start with the affiliate programs. Also, you must have heard that it’s not a big deal to make good money with affiliate marketing, provided you choose the right programs and do some strategic planning while promoting your affiliate products. So far so good.

Whether you are promoting other people’s products or promoting your own products - that doesn’t matter because after all it is nothing but your own business and your means to earn good money. So whichever be your case, I am sure you would not want to leave money on the table and invite others to steal your share of profit.

Even though the industry of affiliate marketing is pretty competitive but if you are cautious and are strategic in your marketing techniques then, it could be very profitable for you.

Take a close look at the industry, you will see that not every one who gets into affiliate marketing is successful. People who are doing well leave no room for failure and take all security measures and understand its importance.

Yes! Security is one of the key factors in affiliate marketing. If you do not adopt proper security measures, then your business will be at high risk. One of the most important way to restore security is to protect your affiliate links. Do not take them for granted. A bit of carelessness on your part in regards to affiliate links may cost you a lot of dollars.

Do you know the long complicated links that you send to your prospective customers not only look convoluted but they can create a lot of problems too! If you send such an affiliate link to your customers, then the smart ones will definitely figure out that you are promoting someone else’s product and they would rather visit the parent company. Also, if your link does not function then your customers have to type a really long URL into the browser, which will definitely put him or her off.

You could be a victim of even a worse situation. What if some devious Internet pirates steal your affiliate links and replace them with theirs. If they do that, then you get no commission at all.

Did I scare you off with all of the above possibilities? Well, that certainly wasn’t my intention. I just wanted to open your eyes and state facts that actually happen in the world of Internet. So, if you are not getting the desired results out of your affiliate marketing, don’t lose hope. There’s definitely a remedy to this problem and that is ViralURL.com

Do I hear you asking, what is it and how can it help in averting any adverse situation for an affiliate marketer like me?

ViralURL is a link cloaker that protects you in the truest sense. There may be many unethical people lurking around, who might play with your affiliate links by cutting them off or replacing them with their own etc. How much effort you put in towards building your business and advertising your business, if your links are tampered with, then all your hard work will be rendered useless.

In order to avoid such a rip off, ViralURL gives you full protection and sees to it that your affiliate links never get exposed to others.

So save yourself from getting ripped. Get all the commissions to your account that you rightfully deserve. All this is made possible by ViralURL.com

It is a blessing for every affiliate marketer like you and me, who wants to achieve success in their endeavor.

Is ViralURL limited to only link protection?

NO!

It does much much more than that. Let’s see what ViralURL can do for us:

* ViralURL helps us in protecting commission.
* ViralURL helps in building mailing lists.
* ViralURL helps in tracking statistics.
* ViralURL helps in earning extra ad credits.

In short, ViralURL allows us to create massive business leverage. Look at your favorite publications and you will see they print a variety of types of article. Here are five of the most popular types.

The ‘How To’ Article

This is a very popular type of article, in which you tell the reader how to do something. It could be how to build a garage, how to write a book, how to sell a house, or how to clean tar off a pair of trousers. These articles tend to be particularly popular because people love to find out how to do something.

When writing how to do something, and if the sequence is important, then it is a good idea to number each step. Remember to keep your instructions simple, yet specific. And you could even use a picture or illustration if the publication allows it.

The ‘List’ Article

The list article is an article that lists several related pieces of information, and is one of the easiest types of article to write. It could be “10 Ways to Save Money”, “5 Flowers to Plant In April”, or “The Best 12 Places to Live in Canada”. A list article should have:

• An introduction.
• The list; each item may be a paragraph or two.
• A conclusion.

The ‘Roundup’ Article

In the roundup article, you provide a roundup of information, statements, or opinions from a variety of sources. You might interview a number of experts, for example, and ask them the same list of questions. In your article you then write a roundup of the answers, e.g.

“Bill Jones, CEO of SHJ Limited, is confident that the market will turn around soon. “Within the next six weeks at most”, he predicted. But Tom Sloane, at Pickwick Associates, disagrees. He explains why…”

The 'Inspirational' Article

Inspiration articles include inspirational narrative, essays, articles on faith and religion, and self-help articles.

Do you know of an issue or concern that affects many people? Think of your own every day experiences. Write about the issue… and help the readers to deal with life and to improve themselves in some way.

The ‘As Told To’ Article

Because many of the people who have outstanding experiences are not writers, there is a market for writing those people’s stories. This is quite similar to ghostwriting, except that in this case the audience knows that you are the writer. In the credits, you would show “By Peter Wallace [subject], as told to Jim Davies…” [writer].

Instead of writing a third-person narrative of the event, the ‘As Told To’ article makes the tale more real and personal by using the first-person.

So next time you are about to write an article, pause… and ask which type of article would best suit your situation and topic. By varying the types of articles you write your writing will also develop a new depth and your articles will be picked up by a much wider variety of publications.
You'll also be able to view 10 times the amount of critical Adwords data of competitors (i.e. their daily Adwords spending; their average clicks per day, and much more!)

Here's looking at the Platinum version of PPC Web Spy.

While 10 keywords is an awesome starting point, many times Adwords advertisers will bid on many more than 10 keywords. With the standard version, you'll never know what those keywords are.

But when you upgrade to platinum, you'll be able to see 100 of the BEST keywords that your competition is bidding on via Google Adwords! Once you know which 100 keywords your competition is bidding on, you'll be able to take those keywords and use them to advertise your own website.

You won't be shooting in the dark, guessing which keywords you should start off with. You'll start your Adwords campaign with 100 of the BEST keywords that your competition has already proven to make them money!

Obviously, the more keywords your know your competition is bidding on, the better chance that you have of making money with the Google Adwords system. In this case, more is definitely better.

BTW, the platinum version is only for those of us that are serious about our online businesses and want to make good money with Google Adwords.

Just in case I forget, you can get access to brand your own copy of PPC Web Spy! You see, once you upgrade, you'll be able to have YOUR unique affiliate links placed at the top of the Google search results of anyone that downloads your branded copy of PPC Web Spy.

Imagine this... Someone that downloads your branded copy of PPC Web Spy is shopping on the Internet for "golf balls". He performs a Google search for the latest golf ball...and wham! your affiliate link for a specific golf ball appears at the top of Google!

With PPC Web Spy, I guess it's all about getting you a program that will help you have a successful Adwords campaign.

Other services don't allow you to browse Google in real-time and uncover the keywords... nor do those services come with the ridiculously powerful viral component that allows you to brand your copy of the software and have your affiliate links appearing at the top of their Google results.

In a nutshell, this is a powerful tool that will greatly improve your online money making strategies.

Affiliate Funnel Is A Different Way Of Thinking

Downline building has been around since the beginning of the internet. The offer is very exciting, let people know about your product or service, refer a few folks and presto, you are on your way to massive success. What's the problem with this scenario though?

Simple, downline building isn't as effective as it once was years ago. Sure there are people making lots of money online using their downlines and affiliate marketing strategies but during the past few years a change has been taking place.

It's called the marketing funnel and if you think of the pyramid look of a 'downline', flip it!

Here's how it works. Get as many people as you can into the top of your funnel and funnel them down into paying customers. Start with a free front end product or service and then let your marketing turn those free leads into paying customers and clients.

Affiliate Funnel is a service that does this plus so much more. It is an all in one business hub that shows you how to properly promote online using the best free resources around and channel these leads into a thriving downline. This is the power of a well put together marketing funnel, taking leads and turning them into clients.

Affiliate Funnel is owned by two guys who have build massive six figure businesses using free resources and their own marketing funnel. Paul Kinder and Jon Olson have put their experience in a bottle and packaged it for anyone to check out for free at Affiliate Funnel

Be sure to check out the Funnel today and start to promote your business the right way using the absolute best tools on the net. The results are there, it's time to grab them...

Check out this splash page

Writing For Free - When & When Not to Do It!

By Yuwanda Black

What's your goal? Right off the bat, I want to say that there is no right or wrong answer to this topic. A lot depends on your end goal - to get a job, garner publicity, build a portfolio, etc. However, there comes a time when every writer should say no to writing for free. Below are some issues that I've been pondering about freelance writing.

Issues to Consider When It Comes to Writing for Free

Issue 1: Content for websites. Content is king on the Internet and everyone wants something fresh and unique on a regular basis. If you are promoting a product/service and write articles to generate publicity, then by all means, give the content away.

However, if what you are selling is your writing skill and are not promoting anything, then don't give it away. You'd be better off doing a direct mail campaign and spending your time creating pieces for your portfolio - even if they are only make-believe companies.

One could argue that the reason good writing is taken for granted is so many give it away. I give a lot of content away, but only within the framework of WIIFM (what's in it for me).

Issue 2: Writing on spec: For those of you who don't know what this is, it simply means writing with the possibility of being paid. Google the phrase "writing on spec" to learn more. The bottom line, once your portfolio is complete with good samples, stop this practice.

The exception would be if it's a credit from a noted source that you really want. After all, who's going to turn down Fortune magazine, for example? Usually though, reputable publications don't ask you to write on spec. At any rate, I believe there's a big enough need for good writers that you don't have to sell your soul for one credit, even if it is a "biggie."

How many samples should you have? I advise between five and ten. Try to get them from different sources - eg, two newspaper, three websites, two brochure, one sales letter, etc. This will give your portfolio a range. Nonprofits, friends with small businesses, neighborhood shops - all are possible non-paid sources to build your writing credits.

A tip: Choose a small business and do the brochure, sales letter, etc. first. Then, send it to your target and ask if they would mind if you included it in your portfolio. I don't know any small business that would refuse a well-written promotional piece that doesn't cost them a dime. Bang, a legitimate credit!

Issue 3: Original Content & Rights: I don't believe in giving away original content - again, unless you are promoting a product/service or are just starting out. I am constantly amazed at the number of publications that want original content but don't want to pay for it.

An example. I used to write a small business column. An editor saw it and approached me to be a regular contributor to their publication, which is quite noted in business circles. The kicker? They didn't want my column but wanted me to contribute original content with no pay. I had to turn them down. I offered the column at no charge (since I already wrote it), but explained that original content outside of this without payment was not possible.

If you write, then you know it's not easy coming up with original content on a regular basis. Some subjects are so covered that nine times out of ten, new ground is never being broken. We are usually just putting a new spin on it. This costs brain cells! And, trust me, not everybody can do it.

So, the next time you put finger to keyboard, think about your objective. If we all stopped giving away our pearls of wisdom, then the pay level across the board would be raised.

About the Author: Yuwanda Black is a freelance SEO writer and the author of How to Make $250+/Day Writing Simple, 500-Word Articles. Recently, Google have made public so-called "linking secrets" that webmasters should take note of, and Internet marketer Titus Hoskins puts in his say in the article below:

Google Reveals More Linking Secrets To Webmasters

One of the most problematic and confusing issues most webmasters have with Google concerns linking. How your links are ranked? How you should link out? How you should construct your internal links? How you should get more inbound links? How many links should you have on a page? And the list of questions goes on...

Perhaps, the most annoying aspect for the struggling webmaster, has been Google's secrecy in how it actually ranks links and pages. Google's whole PageRank and Ranking Algorithm is so complex that no one can fully boast they understand how the whole system works.

Google's ranking secrecy and complexity has probably been well-planned mainly because there are millions of webmasters who would like to "game" the Google Algorithm and achieve high keyword rankings through manipulation with so-called "black-hat" SEO techniques and reverse engineering.

Wouldn't it be ironic if this whole secrecy and complexity is more of a smokescreen rather than an actual deception on Google's part. What if the keys to the kingdom are actually yours for the taking? What if the solution is hiding in plain sight for everyone to see? What if the secret to high rankings in Google is not a secret at all? Wouldn't that be a hoot!

Actually, that's not a far-fetched assumption to make, mainly because many of Google's linking policies and recommendations are freely given by Google. Whether you can believe Google is actually giving you the goods is another issue that we'll put on the back-burner for another day; but for now, Google's advice on link building is rather generous and informative.

As a part of Links Week held recently, Google's Maile Ohye gave some pointers on what Google is looking for and how it does its index ranking. No big surprise that content and inbound links are the two most important factors. This is what most SEO experts have been saying for years.

A site's content is one of the main factors. Therefore, you should have a compelling site with interesting information and/or offer quality products, entertainment, opinions...

(Quoting Maile Ohye) :
"One of the strongest ranking factors is my site's content. Additionally, perhaps my site is also linked from three sources -- however, one inbound link is from a spammy site. As far as Google is concerned, we want only the two quality inbound links to contribute to the PageRank signal in our ranking.

"Given the user's query, [over 200 signals] (including the analysis of the site's content and inbound links as mentioned above) are applied to return the most relevant results to the user.

"As many of you know, relevant, quality inbound links can affect your PageRank (one of many factors in our ranking algorithm). And quality links often come naturally to sites with compelling content or offering a unique service."
(End Quote)

Then Maile Ohye explained further how to create unique and compelling content for your site:

(Quoting Maile Ohye)
Start a blog: make videos, do original research, and post interesting stuff on a regular basis. If you're passionate about your site's topic, there are lots of great avenues to engage more users.
Teach readers new things, uncover new news, be entertaining or insightful, show your expertise, interview different personalities in your industry and highlight their interesting side. Make your site worthwhile.

Participate thoughtfully in blogs and user reviews related to your topic of interest. Offer your knowledgeable perspective to the community.

Provide a useful product or service. If visitors to your site get value from what you provide, they're more likely to link to you.
(End Quote)

SEO experts have been telling webmasters for years that creating valuable, unique, relevant useful content is one of the best ways to get your site and pages highly ranked in Google. If you create valuable content then other sites will want to link to you naturally.

Linking out to other sites should be done in a "common sense" manner and it's a way of offering value to your visitor's experience. We expect helpful relevant links when we visit other sites since it's a natural way a good quality site should work; so be careful of linking out to spammy sites that only offer pages of links with very little or no unique content.

There are several things every prudent webmaster should be checking like making sure your site hasn't been hacked and hidden links placed on your site without your knowledge; those with WordPress blogs should be installing the latest security measures and updates. Make sure you keep checking all your outbound links regularly since you may initially link out to a valuable resource, but over time this page may be closed or replaced with one of those spammy-links-holding pages. It can happen to the best of us.

What has confused things lately is all the "link buying" which Google greatly discourages and has shown its displeasure by de-ranking many paid directories. The size of your "wallet" shouldn't be the determining factor in how pages and content are ranked. If you're selling a link, it should have the "no-follow" tag so that it doesn't pass PageRank along and confuse the system. Policing or deciding what is or what is not a "paid link" has become a major problem for the search engines, including Google.

You should not have more than "100 links on a page" as this can overload the search engine robots that regularly crawl the web, indexing pages. Likewise, your site's "linking architecture" should be natural and easy for both your visitors and the robots to follow. Make sure your important pages are no more than a few clicks away from your homepage.

As to interior linking, the two main points being: Intuitive Navigation for your visitors and Crawlable Text Links for the search engine robots. Use descriptive anchor text links thatexplain your content to your visitors. The anchor text is the underlined clickable part of the link and many SEO experts suggest you place your keywords or variations of them in your anchor text.

Make sure your site is transparent. Do not use "link cloaking" on your site. Make sure what your visitor sees is what the robots are indexing. Use a 301 Redirect if you have permanently moved any webpages. Again, there is stressed the need for a sitemap as this can be very helpful for both your visitors and robots to see and find all your valuable content. Make sure you have a sitemap and all your important pages are listed on it.

One final note, many professional webmasters and marketers don't worry about PageRank as much as they are concernedwith SERPs. Getting those top rankings for their sites in the search engine results is what really matters. Again, quality content and building quality links play an important role in achieving those top spots and maybe Google has already given you the formula for getting them. Maybe, a big maybe!

About the author: Titus Hoskins is a full-time online marketer who runs numerous web sites, including two sites on Internet marketing. But before you can jump in, you need to know a few things about the "art of online writing" and how to sell yourself to potential business clients.

Becoming a successful online writer and publisher is perhaps not for everyone, but if you have the knack for it and the determination to learn the ropes, you can go far and be in great demand. As writer Angela Booth explains in this article, writing for businesses online can be a profitable venture because of the limitless markets that are waiting for you out there.

How To Make Money Online by Writing for Businesses

Here's an easy way to make money online - write for businesses.

Every business dependson communication for its profits, so if you can write, you have an unlimited market for your words. Businesses Will Pay You to Well Write on a Per-Project Basis

Think about what you're writing now. Do you write white papers, marketing communications or reports in your day job?

If you do, you're golden. Businesses have an endless appetite for these. You can start your own writing services business part time, and then go full time when your income surpasses what you're making in your day job. It will do this very quickly.

If you don't write in your day job, but write as a hobby, a great way to make money online is to write articles for online businesses. If you can write around 500 words on a range of topics you'll be in super-high demand.

How to Get Started

You get started by finding a business which will pay you to write for them. This is much easier than you think.

Start with businesses you know - the businesses in your city which have Web sites. Just get in touch, and ask what writing services they need. Yes, it really is that simple. You'll find that may of the local businesses which hire you will turn into on-going customers, paying you thousands of dollars each year to write for them.

Next, use the online classifieds sites, and advertise there. If you use the classifieds sites, it's best to wait until you've written five to ten projects for clients. Create a small Web site, and (with the permission of your clients) post the writing there as an online portfolio.

How Long Until you Can Quit your Day Job?

I'm often asked how long before you can quit your day job and just write full time for businesses.

If you throw yourself into this with great enthusiasm and treat it as a second job, you can do it within three months.

As more and more businesses move their operations online, the demand for writers will continue to grow. Not only can you make great money, but you can work the hours you choose and get paid much more than in most regular jobs.
Of course, there were also some sites happy to announce that they have seen improvements in their pagerank.

Although, you would have read about the pros and cons of this periodic fluctuations of a ranking system that's measured on a scale from 0 to 10 - the greater the number, the better it is for your site -- most people are still unsure how Big G's pagerank algorithm really works.

There are other search engines on the Internet but, being the top dog in search engines, Google is regarded as the one that really counts. And if you are rubbing Goog the wrong way like selling links or using some other tricks, you just might get hit by the Google slapfest.

Many people have formed theories about how Google rank sites. but there's no foregone conclusion. To most of us, it looks like there's a discrepancy in Goog's choice of bestowing pagerank on certain sites. For example, we see sites that appear to be more like scrapper sites getting a pagerank while another site with good articles is still without a pagerank.

It would seem that Google's PR algorithm works in mysterious fashion, but like it or not, Google PageRank is an important aspect of Internet life.

Free organic web traffíc from Big G is vital to any online site or business. One Internet marketer says he would take traffíc from Google over any other source of traffíc on the web, except for traffíc coming from his articles on other sites, and even that traffíc probably originated from a search in Google.

"Google and Google PageRank have always been important to me - that's one of the reasons a sudden large drop causes so much concern. There's another important reason Google PageRank is important to me," writes Titus Hoskins

Do You Keep Track of Your Website's Performance?

Make you website stick Regular evaluation of your website's performance is important as it will help to ensure a good experience for your visitors.

If your website is slow to download or not working properly, your visitors are more likely to go to another site than they are to tell you about it.

Slow performance can be caused by a few different factors. The processing speed of your server, your site's bandwidth, poor coding or database structure and using images or other media that are too large can all contribute to the problem.

Any one of these factors can be a problem but if you're dealing with a combination of them, it can be a critical problem.

It's an everyday headache for almost everyone who drives in the city. But in the virtual world of cyberspace, website traffic is something we all crave for if you are into Internet marketing or some other forms of online business.

This kind of traffic is essential if you have a website or a blog. You need to attract other Web users to your site so that you can get them to buy your products or read your articles. What use is a website if nobody knows about it?

If you are a corporate advertiser or an online entrepreneur, you might want to consider buying traffic which is typically known as Pay Per Click advertising. This approach could be quite complicated for those not familiar with it. Anyway, it's not for most people although we see Google turning in good revenue from their Adwords, a reflection of the popularity of this PPC program.

The other option involves 'borrowing traffic' whereby a site seeks to exchange links with another site or enter into a joint venture with another marketer or company.

The link exchange is a tricky approach. It's not easy to get a site with high pagerank and traffic to link to you if you are a "nobody." If you managed to exchange links with an average site, traffic juice may not be up to scratch. Joint venture usually means hooking up with an affiliate marketer whose products complement yours - a kind of "you scratch my back and I scratch yours" business arrangement.

Now you are seeing how tricky it could be in your quest to garner quality web traffic. It always involves giving something in return when you strike a deal with another web user but there's always the 'doubt factor' whether it will be successful or not.

No, it's not all 'doom and gloom' yet. In fact, one of the best ways to start is drive your own traffic by putting your site high on the radar. Okay, I admit there are literally hundreds of ways to do it but just take note of two of the most popular methods -- article submission (i.e. Article Marketer, Ezine Articles, Go Articles, etc.) and video (think YouTube).

Oops! There's one more important thing to remember and it could well be one of the best ways to get traffic that's truly targeted. This would be organic search engine traffic which has a tendency to convert well since people are targeting keywords.

Get your site to be ranked high on the SERPs (Search Engine Ranking Pages) by applying the most relevant keywords so search engine spiders like Google's will get your site indexed. I'm not going into the full details here on how you can perform this trick. - by Titus Hoskins
Which aspects of Affiliate are important, which are essential, and which ones can you take or leave? You be the judge.

Ever heard of affiliate programs? These are forms of Internet advertising that rewards the affiliates for driving traffic to the advertiser or for other transactions.

The advertiser pays the affiliate to place a link on their website, and the affiliate sends traffic to the advertiser in return. Simply put, it's about paying commissions to people who help you make sales. It's that easy. .
To best discuss this topic you should break this down into categories:

Title Tags: The title should contain keywords and keyword phrases that is important to your site. The recommended maximum number of characters for this tag is 60.

Also when counting your characters remember that spaces are considered as well. Titles should appeal to the reader otherwise even a top position will lose a lot of clicks.

For example, "shoes, nike shoes, best shoes, review shoes," is unlikely to induce a click. What may induce a click would be something like:

Shoes - Find out the latest styles on name brand shoes.

Internet Marketing: Knowledge is Power

Imagine the Internet is your cyberspace battleground...to gain knowledge... and to achieve financial security...when you venture into Internet marketing, affiliate marketing or your own home-based online business. Imagine what you could do if you have the power of knowledge.

Because...Information + Knowledge = Power

It's a fact that one of the biggest sellers on the Internet is information. You want information? Find it, read it, and learn it.

Yes, information is your key to know what to do and how to do it. If you don't have it, you're as good as dead in the water! What if your mind can open up and see the many opportunities right infront of you?

Savour this quotation attributed to James Dewar (1842-1923):

"Minds are like parachutes. They only function when they are open."

Overcome this barrier...and you'll be able to win the battle against procrastination and financial stagnancy.

Let information be your motivator that'll take you to the next level in your online quest.
