I realize the title of this article is completely simplistic. It’s the sort of “Zen like” simplicity, I think, that we all must face every day of our lives if we are writers.

One of the most profound statements I’ve read recently about how to succeed if you do blogging or write other website content: Write about what people are looking for.

For years, part of my career and my livelihood has been writing content for various affiliate marketing websites I own and writing articles for some “how-to” and blog websites. I read that statement, “write about what other people are looking for,” yesterday in a post at a forum I frequent regularly. Of course I’ve known the truth in the statement for a long time, ever since I started trying to do keyword research and trying to find ways to get visitors to come to my websites.

When I wrote earlier today on this topic, I’ll admit I was a bit prejudiced based on my personal bias — I don’t want an online business that demands attention to buying/selling products, sending orders, monitoring shipping and customer service issues, and all the rest.

From time to time, I’ve written articles on this site about affiliate marketing. I hang out online at some forums where there are lots of people doing affiliate marketing — most of them doing much better at it than I — and I work at it myself daily. (Some days I do much better than others.)

If you’ve got a website, or you do blogging, or you simply do “direct-to-merchant” affiliate marketing, and you wonder why you’re seeing no results for the work you’re putting in, maybe it’s time to restate the obvious: Whatever your best efforts at writing online may be, you’ll see no results without “traffic.”

I’ll bet you’ve heard this advice more than a few times: Always backup the data on your computer in case of hard drive failure, fried motherboards, or whatever might destroy it all.

Here are a few tips to help you write titles and articles for content on your website or blog:

1. Write a title that’s a “grabber,” and that contains your keyword(s). A good title will catch the reader’s attention and contain — preferably as the first words in the title — the keywords you wish to focus on with your article. I did an article a couple of years ago about writing titles. You might want to take a look at that.

How I would write about health issues, market health products online

I’ve been giving some thought — as you can tell from the last few articles I’ve published here — to how I would approach marketing health related products or giving health “tips” on a website. My overriding concern would be that I might give someone bad medical or health related advice, opening them to harm and myself to a lawsuit. So, for what it’s worth, here are some things I would try to do if I were to market diet pills, nutritional supplements, weight loss products, or even personal fitness equipment online:
