Get Motivated.

What inspires you to write? Is it for money or enjoyment. Do words just flow through you like the air in your body? If you greatly enjoy writing I encourage you to get motivated in doing so. Whatever your reason is for writing, it can be very satisfying to just sit down and get things off of your mind.

Here are a few tips to get you motivated and help you write:

Surround yourself in an area you can concentrate
Have a clear mind
Excersise before you start writing
Pre-write to get ideas going
Take breaks when you get writers cramps
Organize your writing
If writing big assignments such as a research paper or a book, outlines can really help to organize
Do not write if you have too much on your mind
Be relaxed
Think only of what you are trying to accomplish

These are just a few ideas to help you sit down and get motivated to write.

Writing can be sort of a get away for some. Some people write for fun while others may write for a job. I enjoy writing greatly and intend to write for the rest of my life. Researching For An Essay

Before you should even begin to consider writing your essay, do you have all of your research done? Researching is the most important step in starting to write an essay. Use search engines, such as google, to look for websites, articles, videos, etc. on your topic. This involves a tremendous amount of reading and listening. Gather all the important facts you want to use in your essay. Highlighting important parts is a good way to recognize what you want to use from what does not really matter. Another thing you can do is type a list of important things. If you choose to type a list, make sure you note where the information is coming from. Do not forget to save the site you got information from because it is very important to know when citing your sources. Researching can seem very overwhelming at first. It does take up a lot of time so make sure you use your time wisely. Another important factor in researching is making sure your sources are good sources. You don't want to write an essay on something and provide the wrong information about it. Good luck researching! :)

Inspiration

Sometimes when writing you may need a little inspiration. Choosing a subject can be very difficult to do. Try thinking about what inspires you and what your interests are. Writing about something you like is a lot easier than writing about something that you find boring. If you know nothing about your topic chances are you will have no idea where to start. When you know about your topic, it is so much easier to write about it.

Prewriting

Prewriting for some people may be a very difficult exercise at first. You need to maintain good dicipline during a prewriting session. Going back and not automatically fixing a spelling error or something you already wrote down is a hard task even for me.

When prewriting, always set a time limit for yourself. Whether you going to sit down and prewrite a short story, or an essay, make sure to not stop writing. Prewriting helps you to get everything in your mind flowing out of your mind.

Prewriting is extremely helpful when trying to decide exactly what you will be writing about. It's also helpful when you do know what you subject will be. Once you have prewritten, it opens up many possibilities and options to go more in depth with what you already started writing.

Before Starting To Write

Before you begin to even prewrite, it is a good idea to clear your mind. There are many different things in the world you can do to get a clean concious. For example, many people use yoga to exercise and free their mind. A cloudy mind, means very careless writing.

Setting while writing is very important. Make sure that you are writing somewhere that motivates and relaxes you. Being somewhere beautiful can help thoughts or ideas to flow better through your mind. Whether its the ocean breeze that helps, a view of mountains, or a view of the city, place yourself in these areas to write at your very peak. Personally, I like to write by the ocean or in the dark. Nothing can distract me this way.

Make sure to have any resources you may need during your writing session readily available to ensure no disruption in your train of thoughts. Whether it's a computer site, a dictionary, a thesaurus, it's much easier to keep it near you for quick access. Who wants to scatter through things while in the middle of a writing session? All this will do is mess up your train of thought.

Where Do I Begin?

Where are you supossed to begin when you decide you want to write a book, a novel, a short story, or anything that's more than a few lines. The hardest part of writing is beginning. After I get my beginning started, the rest comes very easy for me. I've learned in college that prewriting is a very good technique, especially when you are unsure of what you want to write about. Another good technique is to keep a journal. Many people get their subjects from something they wrote about in a journal entry. Writing is defiantly not easy for everyone, and when you have talent to write a good book, article, poem, or anything related you shouldn't pass up the great oppurtunity.
