Request/Discuss Game Solutions :: Smart Stretch Program?

Author: Cleaver
Subject: Smart Stretch Program?
Hey everyone.

I have a question for you.

I would love to play certain 4:3 games in 16:10 that don't have that capability.

In Windows Media Center, there is a stretch mode that is so perfect...I wish I could use it with everything.

The option in the program looks kind of like this -
_
> <
_

It cuts a very little bit off the top and bottom, the image still looks stretched, but the difference between the original image is barely noticeable.

Now the question is,

Is there a program that can...smart stretch your monitors image on any program?

I know it sounds far fetched but these days some crazy shit has surfaced so I wouldn't be totally surprised of something like this did exist.

Thank you so much for your time!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah. The engine stops drawing objects at a certain distance/angle (culling) to make the engine run better. When they set up this engine, they just didn't design it with such wide aspect-ratios in mind.

Someone had mentioned previously that two monitors works fine, so you might want to play with some windowed resolutions to see if you can get anything acceptable.

I tried 2142 yesterday. I had to completely delete my config folder (in My Documents) to get it to launch on patch 1.5. Using the command line options it will start in 5040 res (as it always did). The menus were almost unusable (text on top of text) and the game itself has a completely messed up FOV, so much so you cant even see the weapon you are carrying.

I also couldnt see other player models and stuff randomly disappeared.
It would appear that patch 1.5 did nothing at all for Triplehead.

thanks.
I already knew and my monitor also supports 1:1 pixelmapping but I
dont know why it didn't work out. I'll keep on trying.
I haven't tried forcing pixelmapping through the driver though -
I'll try that.

Again thanks for the effort

It's so.... basic. THe graphics are an odd mix of very nice and terrible. BUt teh gameplay is console-ish and boring. But nwo i know. But I also tried Wolverine, and it's surprisingly good. I think I'll grab a copy.

Unless you are repelled by the game I suggest sticking at it and doing 2 more missions as the first one is the most basic one and can be considered as training. Later you get to interact with the environment a bit more and find use for those barrels with poisonous gas, puddles and electirc switches, and granades carelessly strapped to the enemies' belts. There's no gadgetry here, but I find the gameplay enjoyable. The graphics overall are beautiful in my opinion (my favorite level so far is the inky night of the docks, as seen on screenshots above), but I do think that some animations could be improved (e.g. when she dons the German uniform she turns into a robot, and her face is a bit like a mask too).
I am concerned though that there's no official forum and without any communication between customers and developers the game probably won't get updates that could improve things.

Hi My short story,

I ordered my TH2GO 6weeks ago from my local supplier and they said it would arrive in 4weeks. Don't ask why! Our country is up to SH1T. no point in bothering to find out why...

After 4 weeks, they said they forgot to order it! WAHAH Yeah they FORGOT to order it. They then apologised and said they have ordered it and it will be here in 2 weeks because they have ordered it special delivery. Today is the 2nd week AFTER the first 4weeks, So now going for the 7th week. I call them up and wadda ya know! They FORGOT AGAIN!!

So, After telling them their future and how I would haunt them for the rest of their lives and their descendants too, I have decided to just order it myself online. Something I should have done in the first place.

Where do you guys think is the best value for money with the best delivery service as well as customer service?

Let me know.

As I said, it plays like an older game, a pure stealth game like Splinter Cell. It is made for a niche audience, which includes me.

I have to disagree on graphics though, I think they look quite good, most of the time.

Your accuracy is still raised, it just doesn't zoom in. Still, with mouse control you don't really need it.

It is a very flawed solution though, certainly.

Do you mean it still stretches across the monitor? If you can't get pillarboxing to work, this tutorial might be able to help you out.

Well I played through the first mission and i gotta say that I'm not too impressed. It's so.... basic. THe graphics are an odd mix of very nice and terrible. BUt teh gameplay is console-ish and boring. But nwo i know. But I also tried Wolverine, and it's surprisingly good. I think I'll grab a copy.

IIRC the console fov command breaks the right-click and weapon zoom.
