About DSIAC

The Defense Systems Information Analysis Center (DSIAC) is a component of the U.S. Department of Defense’s Information Analysis Center (IAC) enterprise (http://iac.dtic.mil).  DSIAC was established on January 1, 2014 from the consolidation of six legacy DoD IAC basic center operations:  AMMTIAC, CPIAC, RIAC, SENSIAC, SURVIAC, and WSTIAC.  The establishment of DSIAC represents the largest consolidation of IACs under the DoD’s “Better Buying Power” initiative.

The purpose of DSIAC is to leverage expertise and knowledge from other Government agencies, research laboratories, industry, and academia to help solve the toughest scientific and technical problems.  DSIAC is a convenient information and knowledge resource for the DoD and greater Defense Systems community.  To accomplish its mission, DSIAC maintains a network of subject matter experts (SMEs), as well as access to the vast repository of DoD Scientific and Technical Information (STI).  The scope of DSIAC includes the following nine subject areas:  Advanced Materials; Autonomous Systems; Directed Energy; Energetics; Military Sensing ; Non-lethal Weapons; Reliability, Maintainability, Quality, Supportability, Interoperability (RMQSI); Survivability and Vulnerability; and Weapon Systems.

 

Legacy IACs and New Areas

 

DSIAC provides a wide range of services, including:

  • Responding to technical inquiries in the DSIAC subject areas, including literature searches, document requests, answers to technical questions, and expert referrals. Each 4 hour inquiry is free of charge to the customer.
  • Collecting, analyzing, synthesizing and disseminating Defense Systems STI to qualified users.
  • Maintaining and distributing validated DoD analysis models to qualified users.
  • Fostering and supporting the DSIAC Communities of Practice.
  • Building and maintaining a network of subject matter experts (SMEs) to support the DSIAC scope areas.

More detailed technical support that is beyond the scope of a free 4-hour technical inquiry is available from DSIAC on a cost-recovery basis via the Core Analysis Task (CAT) vehicle.
