How to Share a Directory on a Network in Windows Vista

Find a directory in Windows XP or Vista and do the following.
Right click the directory
Go to properties
Sharing tab
In Windows XP - Check mark - Share this folder on the network and check mark allow network users to change my files. (if you like)
In Windows Vista - Click on the share button (do this if you want to share with other users on a PC. if not skip this and the next step.
Use the drop down and select Everyone (All users in this list) or you can be specific and choose the computer of choice.
Click on Advanced Sharing
Check mark Share this folder
Click the Permissions button
Modify the Permissions as needed
Click ok
Apply
Ok
Close

Music controls

Disappointing camera

As a music phone, particularly one so slim, there was always likely to be the odd sacrifice and, in the case of the 5310, it is the lack of 3G and the poor camera quality. The omission of 3G means browsing the web can be sluggish, and the fact that it uses a Series 40 operating system (as opposed to Series 60) means that downloading tracks from Nokia's Music Store direct to your handset is a no-no.

Look and feel

Impressively thin and light, the 5310 offers users a smooth plastic finish with aluminium trim (available in red or blue) and the front fascia boasts three dedicated music keys, unusually found vertically parallel to the screen. The keypad is refreshingly basic and the raised keys offer great tactile response.

Ease of use

The music keys on the left of the screen are easily accessible and make skipping through and pausing tracks easy. Nokia has built a reputation on easily navigated handsets and the 5310 is no exception. It is simple to use as a phone and simple to use as a music player.

Access your Smart Bro Motorola Canopy Page and Speed up your Wireless Internet Connection

Hi filipino fellas Good day to all of you.
This guide is base on other blog and I have already been done this. It works for me 100% and Speed up my smart bro connection by 50%.
ok ok.. Now I'll explain you how and what do we need for Tweaking and Accessing your Canopy page.
1st of all The 1st we need is your mac Address. There are two ways how to get the address.
By using the prompt command or Climbing to your rooftop then list the digits and letter in your canopy. I will teach you later how to get it. Now lets sTart this guide.

There are two ways of Accessing it:

The first is:
1. In Windows XP, go to Control Panel then to Network Connections. Look for Local Area Connection which is your SmartBRO connection. In Windows Vista, it's slightly different, you either go to Control Panel, then to Network and Sharing Center under Classic View, then choose on the left, Manage Network Connections, there you will see your SmartBro connection which is the Local Area Connection. Another way in Windows Vista is to right click on the Network Connected Icon in your taskbar and select Network and Sharing Center, then Manage Network Conections, then Local Area Connection.

2.) Neither of the two OS you have, right click Local Area Connection and select Properties.

3.) Under Windows XP, This connection uses the following items:, double-click on Internet Protocol TCP/IP. Under Windows Vista, This connection uses the following items:, double-click on Internet Protocol Version 4 ( TCP/IPv4).

4.) Set your IP address to 169.254.3.3, and subnet mask to 255.255.0.0., disregard Gateway IP.

5.) Click OK, and close all windows.

6.) Open your internet browser which should be preferably, FireFox,
, and enter in the address bar, 169.254.1.1 , this will take you to the Canopy MS page. That's the first way to access the Motorola Canopy Page.

Now for the second way for Accessing it(Well they said that it is complicated but its not that complicated.):

Since the 169.254.3.3 is not working nor either effective lets try this. This method is by getting your mac address as I mention on the top. As I said there are 2 ways of getting the mac address by going to your rooftop or using prompt command. If you choose to climb on your rooftop that may cause accident or falling. here is it. List the letter and digits for example ty0.2ra.254.10 then when i convert it. It become like this 10.224.255.222 BTW, I forget to mentioned that when your converting You need to change the numbers and letter to backward(kung sa tagalog gawin mong pabalik ung pagbasa^^).
here are the steps now.

1. Follow steps 1-3 from the first method.

2. Then, this time, set your IP address to 10.20.30.40, and subnet mask to 255.0.0.0

3. In Windows XP, on the Start menu, select Run, and type cmd. In Windows Vista, just type, cmd , in "Start Search"

4. Once in the cmd "black widow," enter the following command: arp -a. It will display the IP addresses connected to your network. Look for an IP address beginning with 10 (10.xxx.xx.xx), take note of it, this is your Canopy address. Note: your Canopy address is not the one with 10.0.0.1.

5.) Close the command prompt window or cmd and open your web browser, preferably Firefox,
, and enter your Canopy address in the address bar, that Canopy address is the one you've taken note in step no.4 (10.xxx.xx.xx). That's it. You can now enter you're Canopy Page.

Once in the Motorola Canopy page, the possibilities are endless actually, but in this tutorial, the only ways useful is of course to speed up your download or upload speed.

Once in the Motorola Canopy Page, go to Configuration, then to Quality of Service (QoS) Tab. There, enter your desired Sustained Uplink Data Rate and Sustained Downlink Data Rate, note that in Motorola Canopy Lite which i am using, there is a cap of : 1000 kbps, so i choose 750 for downloads and 250 for uploads. It is now up to you to choose whatever suits your internet needs. Don't forget to also Enable
Hi Priority Channel. See the pic below, it is my own configuration.

To troubleshoot your connection or to simply gawk at it, you can go to Tools, then choose the AP Evaluation tab, there yuo will see the various Base Stations available within your area range. Look for your Color Code Number, the ideal Color Code (or Base Station) is the one with a high RSSI and low Jitter. You can now chage your Color Code (Base Station) in Configuration -> Radio tab. You can change it, then click on Save Changes and then ReBoot. 1. Follow steps 1-3 from the first method.

Installing Unsigned Application on Nokia N95

This guide is a tutorial of How to install a program in your cellphone without needing signing in or send it on symbiansigned.com for signing? This tutorial is about for 10-15mins but you only need to do it once. And you can now install anything you want.

Just Follow this Steps:
1) Download this ZIP file and extract it somewhere.

2) Install HelloCarbide.sisx and Y_Browser_3rdEd_088_3.SIS to your phone.

3) Inside either the fp1 folder or the prefp1 folder, depending on whether your phone has Feature Pack 1 or not, you'll find 4 files. Copy all of these files to the Memory Card of your phone.

Note: Nokia N95 has Feature Pack 1, but I'm unsure about other phones. I believe you can find out by opening the About program on the phone.

4) Open Y-browser (or any other file browser for that matter) and press menu again to minimize it.

5) Run HelloCarbide. Press Options and select Menu1. When prompted with "'Done...probably" click Yes. The application should crash and close. This is good.

6) Copy the provided CProfDriver_SISX.ldd and installserver.exe files to C:\sys\bin folder using Y-Browser.

7) You'll notice that programs etc. won't open now - don't panic. This is a side effect of using HelloCarbide.

8) Restart your phone and you will be able to install any app without signing! You're done!

9) Extra: Install the CapsOn.sisx and CapsOff.sisx files - CapsOff will give you access to system folders like C:\Private etc, and CapsOn will return the security system - so that programs like Ngage work.

That's it! It worked for me no problem on my N95, but if anyone has any problems let me know! In fact let me know also if it works!

Reformat the Hard Drive in Windows XP

To reformat a hard drive with Windows XP, insert Windows CD and restart your computer.
Your computer should automatically boot from the CD to the Windows Setup Main Menu.
At the Welcome to Setup page, press ENTER.
Press F8 to accept the Windows XP Licensing Agreement.
If an existing Windows XP installation is detected, you are prompted to repair it. To bypass the repair, press ESC.
Use the ARROW keys to select the partition or the unpartitioned space where you want to create a new partition. Press D to delete an existing partition, or press C to create a new partition.
Type the size in megabytes (MB) that you want to use for the new partition, and then press ENTER, or just press ENTER to create the partition with the maximum size.
Select the format option that you want to use for the partition (Recommended: NTFS), and then press ENTER.
You have now sucessfully reformatted the hard drive with Windows XP.

Reinstall Windows XP

To reinstall Windows XP after reformatting the hard drive simply insert Windows XP CD and restart your computer.
If your hard drive has not been reformatted, follow the steps above to reformat the hard drive in Windows XP.
Your computer will automatically boot from the CD and begin the installation process

How to hide and remove the Blogger navbar with simple CSS, How to Turn Off Blogger Navbar and why you should remove and disable the blogger navbar

Bloggers automatically inserts a little navigation toolbar (called Blogger Navbar) in all pages of blogspot blogs. This Blogger Navbar gets tucked into the top of the browser window and is supposed to add new (?) functionality to each blog. Blogger Navbar is 50 pixels high and spreads across the entire width of the browser window.

1. There are two buttons on the navbar that point to the Blogger Homepage. Too much of self-promotion.
2. The NextBlog button takes visitors to another recently-updated randomly selected blog on blogspot. But what if clicking the NextBlog button takes my innocent readers to a blog with adult offensive content.
3. The Search Blog Form is not integrated with my Adsense for search account. I want visitors to use my custom Google site search form that is monitized by Google Adsense.
4. The existing Blogger Navbar colors do not gel with my custom blogger theme.
5. The BlogThis! pop-up link is already availble when I enable Blogger Backlinks.

To hide the Blogger Navbar, try any of these CSS techniques. [they should work with Blogger Beta or Blogger 3.0 as well]

Technique One: Insert (copy, paste) the following CSS code in your Blogger Template to disable the Blogger Navbar

Technique Two: This is another simple way to remove the Blogger Navbar but it will not form valid HTML. Replace your &ltbody> tag with the following code and hide will hide the Blogger navbar.

Technique Three: Similar to technique two for hiding the blogger navbar but doesn't form valid HTML. Replace your &ltbody> tag with the following code and hide will hide the Blogger navbar.

I use the first technique for this weblog as it results in well-formed HTML. Remember GoogleBot hates pages that are not constructed with well-formed HTML. Is removing the Blogger Navbar legal ?

The Terms of Service for Blogspot.com do not mention anything about Blogger Navbar but it does state a word about the discontinued Blogger AdBar which was previously displayed on freely-hosted Blog*Spot blogs.

By creating your BlogSpot Site, you agree that Pyra has the right to run such advertisements and promotions.

You also agree that you will not attempt to block or otherwise interfere with advertisements displayed on your BlogSpot site via JavaScript or any other means. Doing so is grounds for immediate termination of service. The manner, mode and extent of advertising by Pyra on your BlogSpot Site is subject to change.

Since it is not mentioned explicitly in the Terms of service, it remains doubtful if removing and hacking the Blogger navbar is any violation of the Blogger terms of service. Lets say we are not "removing the navbar" but only "hiding the navbar" or we could even re-position the navbar to the bottom of the blog. Get rid of the blogger nav bar.

Firefox 3.1 now in Beta 2

Firefox 3.1, now in Beta 2, includes private browsing, introduced first by Google Chrome. Internet Explorer 8 will also include this feature.

Private browsing is about browsing the web without leaving any traces of data on your computer. Be aware, this does NOT mean it hides your IP!

Your browser usually records a lot of data which is used to improve your browsing experience. For example, it records a history of all the web pages you have visited, so that later if you need help remembering a site you visited a while back, it can assist you in finding that site.

This is great if you are the only one that has access to the computer or if you have nothing to hide, but it is not very convenient when others (your spouse, your boss, your coworker, etc.) can see your browsing history.

When you switch on private browsing, Firefox does not to store any data (on your computer), that can be used to tell the pages you have visited.

To enable private browsing you will have to check the Private Browsing submenu under Tools. You will have to uncheck the menu in order to discards all the data from your private session.

Well here is a quick fix from the neowin.net to Remove the Adobe Drive CS4 menu from your right click menu. Simply follow these instructions.

1. Install & Uninstall

There are 2 ways to remove. (both listed here) Install Adobe CS4 Drive using the installer then uninstall it. This seems to get rid of it.

2. Manual Remove

Open Regedit and delete these two entries.

These options are used with the Windows XP setup WINNT32.EXE program and change the way Windows can be installed.

1.)Set your log duration to 1 day. Works wonders! Normally, the call log list defaults to 30 days, but that’s completely unnecessary, at least from our speed point of view.

The method: Open up the Log application, hit options (left softkey), and select the Settings option. Change the Log duration to (optimally) 1 day, or you can try 10 days. Either way, it should give you a noticeable speed increase.

2.)Use the Edit key to select multiple entries. Here’s a little known tip that I found out quite accidentally: when browsing a list of markable items, hold down the Edit key and use the directional keys to mark (check) multiple items quick and easily. Really handy when you want to delete a lot of text messages, for example, or when you want to add pictures to an album. Unfortunately, due to the way it was programmed, the Edit key doesn’t individually mark an item when pressed once - you need to keep it held down and just use the arrow keys to select items.

3.)Use keypad shortcuts when browsing the Menu. Whether your Menu is in grid or list mode, you can use the numerical keypad to quickly jump to an item. It’s easy to see with the grid option enabled - each key corresponds to the item that’s on the menu (12 items, 12 keys). So if you wanted to open the application in the bottom right corner, just hit the # (pound) key. Note that accessing menu items with this method actually executes the application or folder, instead of just selecting the item.

On a similar note, some phones have Icon Animation on by default - this adds a 3D “twisting” effect to your Theme icons. It doesn’t work with custom application icons, and is generally pretty useless. Turn it off by hitting the menu key -> Options -> Icon Animation.

4.)Go through text messages faster with Nokia Conversation. Conversation is an interface extension cooked up in Nokia’s Beta labs that lets you read text messages by sender, instead of some huge jumbo list of texts. Another benefit: you can also delete by sender, which is great for cutting people out of your life!Once you’ve installed the Nokia Contacts Support Services Package and Nokia Conversation, you can access the extension by going to Contacts and hitting the
right arrow key.

5.)Keypad shortcuts work on the Clock application too. This will probably save you a grand total of one, maybe two keystrokes. In the pre-installed Clock application, typing in a number key at the default screen creates a new Alarm with the hour already filled in.

That’s all.

6.)The multimedia menu: disable everything. There’s a wealth of useless options when it comes to the Multimedia Menu. Custom background images, imgae effects, “menu sounds”, and start-up animation. Shut everything off for maximum speed. The background image option should be set to Graphics -> Themes, which should just display the current theme’s default background instead of loading another one.

Honestly though, the multimedia menu always seems to be one of the slowest things ever.

7.)Finally, keep your phone’s firmware updated! All right, that was a cheap one. But seriously, sometimes Nokia actually improves the user interface a bit - take the latest N95 firmware, for example, which speeds up the Gallery by removing the mean bug that caused the gallery menu to appear for a second or two before (slowly) sliding off the screen.

1.)Turn Off System Restore

System Restore can be a useful if your computer is having problems, however storing all the restore points can literally take up Gigabytes of space on your hard drive. To turn off System Restore:

1. Open Control Panel
2. Click on Performance and Maintenance
3. Click on System
4. Click on the System Restore tab
5. Tick "Turn off System Restore on All Drives"
6. Click "Ok"

2.) Speed up Accesing Folders

If you have a lot of folders and subdirectories on your computer, when you access a directory XP wastes a lot of time updating the time stamp showing the last access time for that directory and for ALL sub directories. To stop XP doing this you need to edit the registry. If you are uncomfortable doing this then please do not attempt.

1. Go to Start and then Run and type “regedit”
2. Click through the file system until you get to “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\FileSystem”
3. Right-click in a blank area of the window on the right and select "DWORD Value"
4. Create a new DWORD Value called "NtfsDisableLastAccessUpdate"
5. Then Right click on the new value and select ‘Modify’
6. Change the Value Data to "1"
7. Click "OK"

3.) Improve your Booting

A great new feature in Microsoft Windows XP is the ability to do a boot defragment. This places all boot files next to each other on the disk to allow for faster booting. By default this option in enables but on some builds it is not so below is how to turn it on.

1. Go to Start Menu and Click Run
2. Type in “Regedit” then click ok
3. Find “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Dfrg\BootOpt imizeFunction”
4. Select “Enable” from the list on the right
5. Right on it and select “Modify”
6. Change the value to “Y to enable”
7. Reboot

4.) Make your menu "loads Faster"
This tweak is the best tweak I've ever done. It really works for me. It really makes my slow speed to a very speedy thing. This one will remove a delay between clicking on a menu and XP Displaying menu

1. Go to Start then Run
2. Type ‘Regedit’ then click ‘Ok’
3. Find “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop”
4. Select “MenuShowDelay”
5. Right click and select “Modify’
6. Reduce the number to around “100″

This is the delay time before a menu is opened. You can set it to “0″ but it can make windows really hard to use as menus will open if you just look at them - well move your mouse over them anyway.

5.) Load program faster
This is just a little tweak that can load your programs slight.

1. Right-click on the icon/shortcut you use to launch the program
2. Select properties
3. In the ‘target’ box, add ‘ /prefetch:1′ at the end of the line.
4. Click “Ok”

6.)Make Shutdown Faster
his tweak reduces the time XP waits before automatically closing any running programs when you give it the command to shutdown.

1. Go to Start then select Run
2. Type ‘Regedit’ and click ok
3. Find ‘HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop’Select ‘WaitToKillAppTimeout’
4. Right click and select ‘Modify’
5. Change the value to ‘1000′
6. Click ‘OK’
7. Now select ‘HungAppTimeout’
8. Right click and select ‘Modify’
9. Change the value to ‘1000′
10. Click ‘OK’
11. Now find ‘HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop’

7.) Load start menu Faster

There's scope for tweak even in the way your start menu opens up.

This is simple to:

1.)Run Regedit,
2.)Select HKEY_CURRENT_USER
3.) chooseControl Panel
4.) choose Desktop
5.) choose MenuShowDelay
6.)you will notice that the key value is 400.
7.) Change the number to any number below 400 base on what you want speed.

This is the maximum "slow-rate" which is an artificial mechanism to slow things down. You can speed this up by reducing the rate all the way down to zero. Doing this will probably make this way too fast. So make sure you put a number that your really comfortable with.

Other Options

1.)Defragment your Hard Disk
Over time, the data on your hard drive gets scattered. Defragmenting your hard drive puts your data back into sequential order, making it easier for Windows to access it. As a result, the performance of your computer will improve.

2.)Scan for Viruses
Viruses can wreak havoc on your computer. Detecting and cleaning viruses is an excellent way to improve your system's performance.

3.)Uninstall Uneeded Programs.
Some program can slow your computer. Well you want to speed up your pc then uninstall some program that you don't need to increase your pc performance. Be careful on uninstalling.

4.)Check for Spyware and Adware
Spyware is software that allows companies to monitor what websites you visit or even access your computer. Adware is software that displays advertisements. Both use system resources and slow your computer down. Detecting and removing the programs will improve system performance.

I know some of you already know how to uninstall but I made this guide for others that want to know about removing some program that are junk in there computer.
There are 2 ways of removing a program.

The first way to removing some programs is.
1.)goto My Computer.
2.)Open Drive C.
3.)Select Program files.
4.)Then go to the folder you want to remove.
5.)after that Open the folder you have selected then find the Uninstall.exe

The Second way is easy compare to the 1st one.

Everyone has been infected with a virus at one time or another either through the common cold or the flu. A virus attacks the human body by entering through one of the many openings and attaching itself to a host cell. It releases a piece of genetic information into the cell and recruits the cell’s enzymes to propagate the genetic information. Once the genetic code has been adequately replicated, it destroys the cell and attacks cells nearby.

How does a computer virus simulate a biological virus? Just as a biological virus injects its own genetic information into a cell and interferes with the body’s normal operations, a computer virus is a program written to interfere with the proper functioning of a computer. It may damage programs, delete files, reformat hard disks and perform other forms of destructive acts.

To be classified as a virus, a program must meet two criteria. It must be able to execute itself by placing its own code in the execution path of another program. The program must also be able to replicate itself by replacing existing computer files with copies of the virus-infected files. Similar to the way a biological virus requires a host cell, a computer virus requires an infected host file to propagate itself.
