what will american/canadian or any high profile bands from the west(after few albums out)do in planning their comeback, when the oceans now seems like filled with spunky new school of fishes in the sea?

They, either hit them all head strong,spent all the money with fancy producers or glossy music video? or put a new style,trying to look young and still arousing to the younger demographic? trying to claim back the throne or come out with a new album for a world tour-to a new territories that never had intentions to stop by during other previous albums?(Asians seem still hungry for everything blondie and blue eyes right?)

In Simple Plan case,i really love their mgmt plan to do an album, worldwide tour and release a single with collaborations from artistes from different continents. Their single "jet lag" not only features few collaborators that will hit different language territories. They selected french, mandarin, and bahasa. Aiming countries that will pickup the singles as radio play.

The original english version of the single feature collaboration with Natasha Bedingfield for north american and other english speaking territories. They group release glossy music video to acompany the ear catchy duet song, that talk about the longing feelings of two lovers in long distance relationship.

For French speaking countries, the group collaborate with French Canadian rock chick Marie Mae, French Star Academy 2nd runner up.The bilingual single featured Simple Plan with english and french language lyrics with the same theme. Actually i prefer this french-english version than the english version :) . The initial video were shot at the same location as the original english version.

For bahasa speaking countries that will hit brunei,singapore, indonesia and malaysia, the group collaborate with indonesian rock group "kotak" . Tantri, the female lead vocalist of the band were choosen among many other singers in the region. The video were shot with the same theme, this time Tantri decided to add a cheerful colour to the longing song :)

For chinese speaking countries, the band selected "kelly Cha" radio host/singer from China to do the honour to the "jet lag" song.

Somehow not all singers from other continents have the honour to record a single with the official music video, for example Vanessa Amerossi from Australia although was selected to perform with the band during the tour in Australia only have the honour to perform with the band on stage.

Although the band latest album "get your heart on!" debut at #52 with 9,000 copies sold, they certainly has the collaborations has certainly place the band right back on the chart elsewhere. Enough to be notice by new fans and remembered by their existing fans.

The new stylish Anggun

Anggun is definitely still one of my favourite asian singer so far. Back in the days, during the released of her album "snow on the sahara", and "chrysalis" i always wanted to see her in better clothes and better stage presentation. Cause during that phase, her live stage performance usually her and microphone, or maybe sometimes, in additional to the live band, a piano for her solo acoustic songs.

Realising its hopeless, to have a high hopes to see her shedding her comfortable image at that time, to the extend i remember in one of her press interview she quoted saying that she wouldn't be suitable performing her song with group of dancers cause she belief that wouldn't add substance to her song.

For clothes, During the past two album its normal seeing her wearing same clothes in two or three occasion,"simple" is her theme at that time, Anggun started to experiment with beautiful designers clothes after the release of "luminescence". She started to wear designers clothes,shoe and accessories not only in her music videos but also during live performance and concerts.

I attended her concert in KL during her promo showcase for "Elevation" when the audience doesnt not only anticipate her vocal and stage performance, but also wanting to see what she's gonna wear on stage. True enough during that showcase in Hotel Istana she came up on stage as stylista with a microphone and a live band behind her.

Anggun transformation as an international performer now has almost complete, european and asian market has embrace her,her album sold millions within asia and europe. Last year, She has been elected to represent France for Eurovision Song contest in 2012.A rare honour for Indonesian born, French citizen like her. Although she still may just be known in America to only selected adoring fans who happened to noticed her talent, it will be a matter of time, with the right album for Anggun to make her second try after "snow on the sahara" to be accepted in the north american music scene. 2NE1 -2nd EP! BEST!

I know this is Rare! but i have to blog and recommend you guys about this. 2NE1 -self titled mini album, its a follow up to their sophomore album.(which i already had). Some of my friends actually surprised that i follow Kpop, LOL, I did from the surface cause didn't quite impressed with the talents until i saw 2NE1 dynamic image and infectious tunes,one after another. It all glued very well, making them one solid strong powerful group with alot of attractions, you cannot deny their talented force but to love them :)

For those of you who havent got infectious with Kpop yet, and still looking for the best kpop music to listen to, then 2NE1 is the one that you should look out for.

DINING: CAFE BARBERA

Cafe Barbera ni one of my favourite Cafe. Baru bukak outlet baru kat sunway pyramid. before this i usually visit their outlet at bangsar, but now with the new promotions, outlet sunway pyramid offers something worthy.

Currently they are having promotions all you can eat pizza just RM15/pax (tak termasuk air), so korang bolehlah melantak pizza mcm2 jenis perisa sampai tak larat nak makan. pizza die mmg sedap..thin crust, and cruncy...from salmon,vege, tuna, pepperoni dan mcm2 lagilah.

just in case korang smpai cafe barbera pastu tak faham waiter dia cakap(kalo foreign waiter indon,bangladeshi,myanmar) yg amik order korang. selain dari makanan dari dalam menu dia. kalo korang order all you can eat pizza tu, derang akan letak signboard atas meja korang "pizza time". so waiter yg bawak pizza akan ronda n letak pizza dlm plate korang, derang akan bawak pizza keliling restoren, siap je chef masak derang akan isikan dlm pinggan2 customer yg ada signboard "pizza time" kalo kosong je derang akan letak if korang tanak, derang tk letak lah. so korang makanlah smpai kenyang. smpai derang offer korang akan ckp tamau koz dah kenyang. tapi air order asinglah. but still cheap kan?

so sesape yg nak makan pizza puas2 tu pegi lah ke cafe barbera sunway pyramid. puas hati :)

CONCERT: ZEE AVI LIVE IN KL. 17 NOV 2011

Konsert Showcase Zee Avi kali pertama diadakan di KL pada march 2010, setahun masa berlalu ZEE kembali di pentas KL LIVE untuk showcase promosi album terbarunya "Ghostbird". Maybe, kebetulan, setahun itu jugalah KL LIVE kini sudah pun siap diubah suai dengan untuk menampung acara-acara yang berskala sederhana. lebih proper dan cantik. Seolah signifikan perubahan dan kelainan yang ditampilkan oleh Zee Avi pada konsert kali ini. Lebih matang dari segala segi aspek persembahan, cuma mungkin yang tak berubah dan tetap sama hanyalah satu - latar belakang pentas di KL Live itu.

Konsert kali ini ternyata lebih ramai singa singa Zee hadir memberi sokongan,sama ada yang setia ataupun peminat baru berjinak2 dengan hasil kerja Zee. Level atas VIP dan rock pit arena sendat dengan penonton yang hadir seawal jam 7 petang lagi. Pintu dibuka mulai jam 9 dengan sekuriti yang lebih ketat dan tenaga kerja belakang tabir dan wakil media yang kelihatannya lebih ramai.

Narmi, drummer One Buck Short yang kini juga bergerak solo membuka tirai persembahan malam itu dengan lagu lagu ala Zee versi lebih lelaki. Best,Walaupun sedikit membosankan, crowd masih sopan memberi sokongan pada Narmi yang merupakan rakan Zee(keduanya berasal dari Kuching).Masih perlu improvement dari segi variasi melody dan tema lagu.Tapi suara dia cute dan sedap didengar jugaklah.

Sehabis aja Narmi perform, david hurwitz, gitaris/sape salah seorang dari bandmates Zee keluar ngetest sound, penonton bersorak tak sabar, hiruk pikuk menjerit nama "zee avi". sajalah derang ni nak create saiko kan penonton kan? Zee akhirnya keluar, memakai dress labuh bare shoulder berwarna turquoise. she dress well..siap ada bunga kat rambut lagi :)

Tak ingat sangat setlist semalam, tapi Zee perform some songs from her latest and few from her debut album. aku tunggu time lagu "concrete wall" koz nak dengar dia perform lagu tu "live" koz lagu tu memang style for live performance. Bersungguh2 Zee pukul drum at the right notes complementing the melody of the song. Best.aku menyanyi bersungguh2 cause yeah, dah dengar banyak kali lagu lagu dia, mestilah ingat kan?

persembahan Zee kali ni improve banyak dari segi showmanship, ada efek lampu2 and her confidence grow, lagu2 dari CD tu diberi nafas baru dan banyak interaction dengan penonton, As if macam kawan perform depan kawan, Zee dance, tease her audience as if everyone is her best friends. Ada jugak dia selit2 mesej 1Malaysia, where she says "it doesnt matter on the external, its what internal that matter, as long as we are all accommodating and accept each other, kita semua 1Malaysia"

Crowd yang hadir malam tu bercampur elok bermacam2 orang dan kaum lah, dari tourist, expats, ladies in tudung sampai lah mat rock rambut kembang pun ada. tua or muda semua ada. cuma pakcik pakai kopiah putih je yang aku tak nampak. hehehe seronok ^_^

Sedar tak sedar, time dah habis, encore dah bagi pon tetap tak puas, Zee close her show with "roll your head in the sun". with crowd gasping...for more!

Thanks to all my friends yang sudi join, support Zee. tho some of them tak kenal sangat Zee tambah lagi ada bola semalam indo vs malaysia. aku appreciate sgt sgt korang ok!!<3

EVENT:AIM18. Belakang Not so Tirai.

Actually dah lama kot tak pegi AIM. tahun ni pegi koz ada kawan yg baik hati bagi pass cantik punye, and also koz yuna dan najwa perform(and i bet they gonna go home with trophies) so aku pun pegi lah dengan semangatnya walaupun baru kebah demam. Lagik satu, saja nak wat research mana tahu bertukar kerjaya or later kena deal with this sort of event. so at least dah tahu the latest wherebout bout this event. so here are some of things that i want to share with you.

Behind D Scene: Penganjur kali ni nampaknya pakai tektik tutup all entrance selagi "bluecarpet" tak habis. so next year, korang boleh datang lambatlah yek. The thing about this tektik nie, kalau abg2 rela and event krew tak jaga betul2

1. tiket masuk tu, tak sempat nak check pun. ramai je yg boleh bolos.so how bout the security?
2. org dah berasak2. utk entrance upper tier yg seat2 bercerun2 tu, kalau orang berebut, takke ada yg jatuh. so how bout the safety?

ooh ohh..patutla derang tutup all entrance before show starts pukul 9. koz tahun ni, segment "bluecarpet" AIM18 rupernya is a part of an event itself. Nampak tak crowd penuh tu? mmg ramai koz semua tak boleh masuk except performers,artistes, or people with working tags. Jadi penuhlah pagar2 tu dengan orang-orangnya.Masa finale "bluecarpet" ada flashmob mini with performance by one nation emcee,riuh, its the first of its kind for AIM red carpet segment,but then dari tempat aku bediri, dah dengar orang menjerit "bukaklah!bukaklah!(gate) pastu aku dengar jugak dari jauh "boooo" masa ada dari crowd2 yang tgh stressful koz entrance tak bukak2 or mmg one nation emcee sucks?i dont know.

anyway, utk acara small segment camtu, one nation emcee bukanlah talent yg sesuai pun, koz bagi aku, they are quite mainstream, plus derang tak ada lagu baru. so modal derang perform "raja gelek" pastu satu lagu dari BEP. sangat tak complementing dengan AIM, yg meraikan bakat2 dan lagu2 ciptaan lokal. oh well, i wish next year kalo AIM comittee nak buat lagi camtu,

1.please invite fresh new talent please please please.AIM maybe nak klimaks kan segment redcarpet tahun ni dgn One nation Emcee cause nak happeningkan closing redcarpet. ramai lagi yg boleh kot.give it a space for new talents please next time?redcarpet....door..pintu masuk...baru..fresh..get it? hmmm :)
2. yg duk upper tier seaters tu tayahlah nak halang derang dari masuk dewan. whats the point anyway? just block entrance those ground entrance cukup dah.crowd control and be more reasonable on the security and safety please :)

stage AIM18, nice. with full LED/LCD background. dah classy. celcom pon dapat mileage derang. all those colors matching. Cuma kan, i didnt see any celcom banners or panels inside the stadium itself, maybe derang nak save budget? But bagi aku, branding placement memadai dan tak memuakkan. just nice.coz the word celcom rasanya dah byk kali mention throughout celcom. karang too much wat org had enuff. but...it would be good kalo ada bajet, ada panels or banner..or streamers...inside the stadium..so that silent brand visibility visible in front of audience eyes and hopefully embedded in their mind,kan?no?apepejelah :)

Sebelum show, actually those yg isi seat lantai, agak meraba-raba jugaklah nak cari seat, koz sapa masuk arena seat mmg tak ada numbering, so duduklah mana2 kecuali seat yg ada signs or tagging. tapi aku masuk dari belakang, so mana nampak tagging kan?pastu krew pulak 2-3 orang jek. pastu tanya pun bagi jawapan yang takleh dipercayai. ada ke suruh aku duduk depan, aku sah sah tahu depan2 tu vvip or artiste. so fadeup, aku jalan ke depan stage, pastu masuk dari depan seat and cari seat kosong sendiri. lantaklah orang nak cakap aku ape,janji aku tak salah seat. LOL, but anyway i aku buat camtu koz nak tengok2 kot kot ada yg aku kenal leh wave and say hi punns.... ^_^

Btw tengok pic atas tu, tu en nabil kita(ala yg nyanyi lagu hati ini....nabil zamahuri), dia pun tercari-cari seat jugak masa memula masuk tu ha.tataulah abg n kakak krew jumpa ke tak seat dia. jumpala kot kan?

anyway opening by najwa superb. me love! tak sesia datang. najwa i love you!

tak suka sangat lagu ni, koz lirik dia sgt memanah memekik2 nak suruh orang menangis. but anyway suara jac,shila & ning superb 'Live' layan lah jugak. best.

then hafiz with his awan nano. love his hairdo.gambar kecik..amik pakai henpon jek. aku tak bawak kamera besar..besungguh2 sgtlak orang kata plak nanti :P

among all performers time segment "reality tv stars" tu, aku paling suka nashrin punye background. its chic. goodjob nashrin!semoga rezeki mu terus murah!

and stacy jugak tak menghampakan. yang paling bosan tu salma. sibbaik closing with stacy with kasanova. ending pun just nice and stacy hold it professionally till end. Dia tak gopoh, pandai amik time and pacing. well dancers should all know that.

upin and ipin ni aku tatau ape hal masuk AIM18?aku pikir maybe:-
1. les copaque bayar AIM kot utk promote lagu upin ipin "sahabat" tu?
2. AIM18 ni will be watch in indonesian TV kah?
3. single "sahabat" is selling well in celcom channel x as CMT or nak kena promote lagi?

kalau lah 3 sebab diatas tu bukan, maka sesia jelah waktu siaran selama tempoh padi yang bagi aku dah agak outdated, koz orang kt dalam dewan macam tgk tade napsu je time derang perform, and melihat upin and ipin menari2 atas stage AIM18 aku terpk, ada lagi ke budak2 tengok tv time tu? rasanya mak bapak derang suruh tido awal or maybe derang dah tido kekenyangan nasi kol 9 tadi lagik.

rasanya next time les copaque team kena study properly where to place their product branding which shall aimat the right demographic. dont just simply put je. or else you just gonna kill your brand slowly, fikir how many people will say "boring lah upin ipin ni nyebuk je atas pentas aim ni" just because you salah letak upin n ipin atas stage yg salah.

or maybe they having it hoping to aim upin & ipin at adult demographic, well if that is the case,im not buying it. sorry :(

yuna best. she won "vokal terbaik wanita dalam lagu penakut" & lagu terbaik "penakut" dan anugerah kembara.she attended AIM18 with Qi. favourite couple malam tu,so suweet :)

ok segment rock kapak ni appropriate. crowd pon enjoy sakan. ye lah within their age gap. cuma aku terpkir mana derang cekau setlist performers2 nih? it was a comittee selection base on the commercial + ratings purposes,request from sponsors or just main cekup? koz my friend told me that lagu2 yang derang perform tu mmg femes kat karaoke. oh yeka? i see :)

Grayson Chance ngan Najwa, aku mati2 ingat grayson nak nyanyi lagu "cinta muka buku" tu with najwa latiff. but i was wrong. rupernya derang nyanyi "paparazi" sama2. oklah, mana lah grayson tu sempat nak belatih bahasa. dia bukannya stephan rahman huges hihihi :P

6ixth sense perform cinta matiku. baru first time dengar. macam ala ala britrock sket kan? aku terbayang kasabian,Muse..etc well..esp bila backdrop staging derang camtu. well...1.8 millions CMT sold for downloads...with Adi(indonesians),ngan indonesian duk malaysia + fan malaysia yang kaki download CMT, so tak hairan lah the combo works for them.good strategy pun.

Anyway aku terbaca kat twitter someone yg kutuk kategori "artist mobil celcom" terbaik. konon anugerah sellout and berbaur komersil. let me share with you.

1. celcom pays for the sponsorship fee. they can do whatever they wants.AIM gets the funds, you all gets the fun. fair and square kan?
2. why not? bukankah natijah adanya AIM ni nak menyemarakkan industri seni? industri tu bisnes bagi aku, and kalau 1.8 millions download tu dikali dengan komisyen yang dibayar pada 6ixth sense(artis)bukankah itu sumber rezki artis?tak membantu ke semua itu pada artis utk meneruskan hasil kerja seni derang?
3. stop hoping for CD sales. move forward adapt to the very latest technology or latest business platform. or else jadilah katak bawah tempurung yang hanya tahu melalak(kata malique)

closing finale..by few artistes aku dah lupa..tapi yg melekat dalam paleotak aku lan TT(typewriter) dan Ella, Hazama & meet uncle hussain.

Anyway it was a good experience for me watching the production of AIM18, aku boleh compare with other productions local, shoutz awards so far best. less hiccup. Comparing that AIM18 kena improve lagi in terms of content, whats ticks and whats not. Thank god MC bagus, aku terhibur dengan MC depan kamera dan MC belakang kamera. cuma silap2 bengap2 sket2 esp time background song tak keluar time sepatutnya keluar. pastu kesian aunty wirama tu, why you all buat dia camtu? silap teknik ke ape? next time kalo kedekut masa, just proof read speeches by wirama honors then set the do and donts. brief them properly. i believe she thought she can say a longer speech that others.her words of wisdom.afterall she establish MACP what? :(

anyway floor manager orang baru kot? cute2 je dia, you, instructions kuar dari mulut dia manja2 aje.alahai...shy shy kitten sgt.kena tuntut ilmu dari abang dollah cantik @ production krew 8tv ok? ^_^

1. yuna dapat "kembara" utk AIM18 ni. happy for her. just wish that Zee avi pun dapat "kembara" jugak, she writes her own songs, if Fader manage yuna in america, brushfire manage zee and produce her album there and for elsewhere too. lagu2 zee dah masuk eropah,taiwan, japan not just america, bukan je sudah jual, tapi terjual dan tercarta dalam RIAA's Billboard sales chart. how i wish kembara AIM18 tahun ni dapat pada dua orang talented soul ni. afterall, isnt the purpose of AIM adalah untuk menyemarakkan industri? which means the more the merrier? kalau tahun2 sudah ada tahun yang tade penerima, apa salahnya kalau tahun ni kita ada bakat2 yg menonjol di arena antarabangsa diberi trofi semangat yg sama? nasib baik goverment sarawak perasan bakat Zee Avi. AIM17 bagi "kembara" to Bunkface. AIM18 to yuna? you all ni kenapa? buta hati ke buta mata? whats your real agenda really?dont kill the local talents nye spirit silently please... :(

2.AIM, if truly nak semarakkan industri, nak motivate the artis tempatan dlm bikin hasil karya terbaru n terbaik both in quantity and quality, tolonglah tahun depan hanya siapa yang keluarkan album baru or EP or single terbaru je layak buat persembahan,muncul red carpet, atau jadi penyampai anugerah, yang tak aktif or malap or takde kaitan langsung dengan seni suara ni takperlu lah jemput ke pentas.mana aliff satar(lagu "lelaki separti aku" tu hot, budakkecik pun pandai nyanyi, where is he?,awi rafael, siti nurhaliza, aizat, malique ngan abang jamal?, and also kenapa group kru yg tgh nak up "forteen" tak do something on stage?, prima yin yang kontroversi tahun ni tu where's she?,james baum?, n bunch rays of indie upcoming hotties on charts such as awan band,diandra arjunaidi,gabba gabba,amir jahari, khottal, and many many morelah. where are they sayangku AIM? if you offering same predicted lauk every year, orang dah kisah sgt AIM ada ke takada. At least, by showcasing those talented hidden gems, orang tunggu AIM, those ppl yg tak lookup internet,youtube,myspace,facebook, they wanna see them on TV. promote to them. promote this new talents faces. in dat way you will always be a pillar of something valueable to everyone within this local music industry. thats why aku terpkir upin dan ipin ada release album ke tahun ni??

Also why you wanna mix your demographic with film segment? they already have FFM, SKRIN what not. pastu you all complaint tade sponsor,susah nak carik sponsor. you all sendiri yang clutterkan branding target audience. next year, i wish no shamsul yusof, no neelofa, no sarimah ibrahim(i sayang you sgt tapi...u jadi mc tahun depan boleh with zizan ke?).

Tapi anyhow congrats to AIM koz berjaya melangsungkan AIM kali ke 18. it was quite an experience for me. i believe for others too :) all the best next year! :)

"POWER" lahir dari kerja tangan dua beradik Jax & Seth Anderson dari Detroit, Michigan USA. Berbeza dengan pemusik lain yang selalunya "kedekut" dan terlampau berkira untuk berkongsi musik secara percuma. Power mengalakkan musik mereka dimuat turun,dan dikongsi ramai. Sebelum menukar kulit baru, Power dahulunya mengenalkan diri mereka sebagai "apple trees & tangerine", giat mengadakan persembahan dicafe dan bars sekitar Detroit.

Dengan kelahiran "Power" mereka mempercayai setiap hasil kerja mereka bukanlah hak mutlak mereka, tetapi dari hasil seni yang mereka lihat atau dengar, dari gambar yang dilihat bertahun dahulu atau filem yang dilihat dua tiga hari lepas, atau pun perbualan beberapa minggu lepas, atau cetusan fikiran kosong dari seorang pengemis, atau kata kata bernas dari teman rapat yang telah memberikan mereka inspirasi, "power" atau kuasa untuk setiap karya-karya yang dihasilkan mereka.

Olahan karya POWER mengetip cetusan2 idea dari sekumpulan pengiat seni aktif dari Detroit yang mewarnai lagu lagu dan hasil karya mereka. Ideologi mereka mungkin tidak digemari sangat oleh pengiat musik komersil, dan selalunya gerak kumpulan pemusik seperti ini selalunya kedengaran hanya "sedap dimulut" tetapi tidak bagi "power" malahan hasil karya mereka adalah komersil dan tersendiri.

Jika tidak, masakan salah satu lagu mereka "can you save me" telahpun diangkat melatari lagu tema siri "covert Affairs" lakonan piper perabo. Siri baru mengisahkan perjalanan susah senang seorang penyiasat CIA wanita yang baru bernama "anne". Siri yang telahpun memasuki musim kedua di USA, telahpun bersiaran di saluran DIVA Universal(astro/Malaysia).

lagu-lagu Power yang lain mungkin tidak dapat ditelan oleh semua orang, namun bagi pengemar musik ala elektro dengan olahan alatan strings yang diadun dengan synthesizer dan suara suara sahutan,siulan ala red indian, musik mereka kedengaran amat meriah, hidup dan latar vokal jax yang membantu setiap mesej mesej yang pada lagu yang mahu disampaikan.

Kekuatan POWER yang memikat hati adalah hasil kerja mereka yang kreatif tetapi masih mempunyai elemen komersil tanpa kedengaran terlampau memaksa, kekuatan dari lirik(ceritera lagu yang berseni) yang pintar dan kekuatan melodi yang menusuk emosi. Mereka mampu membawa tema lagu serius "can you save me",kedengaran keanakan seperti "sold my soul to the radio"(ala the ting tings) atau sexy ala kesha tetapi serius untuk lagu "billy the kid".

HIGHLIGHTS : Flight Facilities

Belum banyak info mengenai latar belakang duo Flight Facilities(FF), Hugo Gruzman dan James Lyell. Derang mula bergerak aktif pada 2010 dengan 2 single berjudul "foreign language" & " Crave you".Kelainan yang diketengahkan mulai menarik perhatian booker & clubbers dan pelayar musik di internet.Pada awal 2011 derang mula terbang tour "maiden voyage" serata bandar-bandar utama Eropah dan klub2 di australia dan jepun.

Secara personalnya, lagu-lagu single derang dan hasil-hasil mixing untuk artis underground yang lain kedengaran loops minimalis tetapi masih catchy untuk didengar kali pertama,kedua dan seterusnya. Konsep mereka setakat ini boleh diringkaskan sebagai "Electro Lounge" tetapi cukup memanah dengan hook-hook yang sedap didengar berulang kali.

Berekspimenkan disko 80an, single terbaru "foreign language feat jess" sangat memikat telinga dengan olahan vokal Jess yang kena dengan konsep lagu. Selalunya kalau salah caturan, lagu lagu yang mencedok elemen disko 80an akan kedengaran "tacky" dan klise. Tetapi "foreign language" tidak begitu. Syukur!

Single pertama derang "crave you" mereka cuba menyatukan elemen pop jazz vokalis Giselle dengan konsep electro lounge,ternyata mengena. "crave you" mula berputar di radio-radio Australia.

Masih sukar mengukur sejauh mana bakat mereka akan terbang, namun kelihatan Flight Facilities sudah bersedia dengan management team & medium promosi di internet yang cukup.

Tak kisahlah semua tu, asalkan lepas satu,akan ada satu lagi single dan seterusnya. Untung, datanglah terbang tour ke KL! kannn?<3

REVIEW:"Going beyond expectations" or "To fly to serve"?

Last month, British Airways launched its historical debut of "to fly to serve" advertising campaign to spearhead a new business atmosphere both from it internal employee and also to entice their passengers that they now will be serve in an improve manners if they fly via British Airways, the first ever campaign launched after ten years.

The campaign executed by appointed agency,Bartle Bogle Hergarty (BBH) celebrate a flashback of serving British Airways pilots and crews from 1919 to present time, it also features various historical planes that serve British Airways throughout the era.

Although the campaign lookslike British Airways best campaign so far, personally for me it shall be execute in better ways with better copywritings and yeah voice over talent. With lowtone VO

flowery script that end up like just another bedtime story, without proper pacing or effective punchline that able to engage emotional elements that might turn into action(of people booking their airticket via BA).

I remember the similar campaign which successfully has play with the psychological elements in its marketing strategy to hit the target audience, it was the first advertisement for "going beyond expectation" campaign launched by Malaysia Airlines in 2002 which was done by Leo Burnett Malaysia. The initial campaign focus on promoting malaysia airlines best award winning services (inflight food,cabin crew,inflight entertainment, on ground services etc) to the air travelers, in hope not only to rejuvenate MAS brand, but focus on one aim, to ensure viewers to choose malaysia airlines as their preferred airline.

Malaysia Airlines was known to have many award winning effective advertising campaign both local and oversea, in fact, they did launch a similar internal campaign in 2005 to entice its internal employee to serve "beyond the expectation" pretty much similar to British Airways "to fly to serve campaign in 2011.

The ad showcase Malaysia Airlines passenger testimonials from different parts of the world,and also testimonials from malaysia airlines employee from selected office overseas,who serve their best, inline with the "beyond expectation" motto. The copywriting were effective, very engaging hitting the right spots of every MAS employee in order to remind them, encourage them to serve their best, "beyond the expectation".

Now, after watching both advertisement from the two airliners,which airline has successfully come out with the most persuasive campaign,engaging enough to book your next plane ticket? :)

Dalam kehadiran bermacam bakat baru pelbagai saiz, rupa dan warna menyesakkan pentas musik kebelakangan ini, kehadiran Raisa Andriana dengan single pertama berjudul "serba salah" ternyata menonjol bukan sahaja di radio malahan di ruang legar internet.

Pentas musik Seberang seolah bernafas baru dengan kehadiran ramai produser dan pengkarya baru yang tidak tercalit noda komersil melampau yang kedengaran canggung,memaksa dan memenatkan dengan gimik visual yang seolah-olah menjerit inginkan perhatian.

Syukur Raisa tidak begitu, dengan nukilan hasil kolaborasi bersama produser muda dari soul vibe(ramadhan handyanto & andrianto ario) maka album Raisa dilancarkan pada 25 May, di Barcode, Kemang. Album dihasilkan oleh Soul Child Record indonesia ini dipasarkan serata Indonesia oleh Universal Music.

Single pertama "serba salah" diolah ringkas dengan elemen pop jazz dengan warna suara Raisa yang manis mengalun setiap bait bersahaja namun segar bukan sahaja ditelinga malahan dimata, video klip "serba salah" simple, tetapi cukup mainan emosi dengan tona warna sephia membawa jiwa pendengar menusuk ke alam emosi lagu "serba salah". Sekali dengar, terimbas warna suara Joss Stone dialbum pertama, sedikit India Arie single "serba salah" menceritakan episod sesudah putusnya perhubungan, putus habis tiada lagi sambungan buat kali kedua kerna "rasa itu telah hilang, maafkanlah, ku tak ingin, ku terluka kerna cinta". Rasa tak? kalau tak pernah putus cinta memang tak akan merasa maksud disebalik lagu ini, tapi rasanya ramai yang pernah dan sedang merasainya kan?

CONCERT:David Archuleta elevates Stadium Negara

It has been a while since i went to concert for such a mainstream scale, but i guess i remembered that i once secretly pray to meet him face to face when i saw him in American Idol. His sincerity and down to earth charisma will surely make you not to hate this fella.

So when a friend of mine asked me if i would be interested to watch him live in action(on stage), i reschedule my appointments and make time for my friend and also for him(ehhehe). We arrived missing the first couple of songs, the indoor stadium was almost full with screaming kids, teens and their supportive guardians, singing along to his song.

His team must've known that cause most of his song covers, are ones old hits that people from the matured set of age would enjoy his performance and his rendition of hits like 'crazy' from gnars barkley, 'heavy' from dj sammy, 'a thousand miles' by vanessa carlton and few others hits received roaring applaused from the fans of his smooth vocals.

Wearing with just black skinny, grey shirt and pop the colour purple jacket he dance to his upbeat songs and at times use a keyboard to perform the slow songs. The

As the the concert move towards the end, his energy doesnt drained out even his shirt startes to get sweaty, smiling from ear to ear he serenades his fans to his hits like'touch my hand', 'something about love', 'elevator' and other songs from his latest album 'the other side of down'. Knowing that he havent sing his debut hit 'crush' the crowd screamed for encore and yes, he went out closing his concert last night satisfying his legions of fans singing along to the song before the curtains really went down.

Who would've thought a regular family 'gendang' silat practice suddenly turns the whole family into an ethnic band performing series of pahang ethnic folklore songs? Meet "Anak Kayan", Pahang talented band consisting of Man Kayan and his family tree from wife, sons, daughter, nephews and nieces.

Established in 2010 in Kampung Permatang Badak,Kuantan.Man Kayan past time activity (other than handling their food stall) are jamming music with his wife and kids practising gendang silat alongside other equipments such as gendang, keketuks, rebana, tamborine and bebuluh singing along to ethnic songs of pahang, jamming to the songs of Datuk Ariffin Said a reknown local ethnic singer in Pahang.

From a close personal jamming sessions in front of friends and family,man kayan relatives later invite them to perform at family weddings, then more invitations pour in which later named themselves as "anak kayan" started to perform on bigger stage,from getting invitations to perform representing the state of pahang in cultural fest,dinners and events to an invitation to representing Malaysia for culture fest in Riau in January 2011! They also once invited to perform 'live' on TV during TV9's Nasi Lemak Kopio programme.

Of course the art blood runs naturally among man kayan family when he later started to wrote and compose their songs, which circles around the story of nature, love and malay culture. from the story of kancil, to words of advice from elders to the young kids to take care of the land, the trees,river and be good to people and respectful to nature. His talent were formidably full of potential since one of his song titled"semalam di kuala pahang" won Pahang ethnic song contest in 2010.

The name "Anak Kayan" comes from the musical instrument used by them were mainly made from "kayu kayan" aka wood, the kayans family as what i like to called them consist of man kayan(lead vocal/guitar), mak kayan(gong), akilah(2nd vocal),farah(keketuk),Alif(rebana/gendang),nado(gendang/rebana),kanda(gendang),apit(buluh kuntum/tamborine),idan(guitaris)along(guitaris) and afina(gamelan). Most of the kids are still in lower and secondary school except for along who just started working. Music currently is their part time get together activity and money from shows were used for school and also to provides what they need for the bands esp on clothes(which some of them were made by themselves) and instruments.

Its an honored to have "anak kayan" on TM presents Everyone Connects @ Berjaya Megamall Kuantan stage,since its not often to see such a inspiring local talents from Pahang to perform in such nature of event,whereby during the two days event, they performed and entertained the crowd with Pahang folksongs bridging both traditional and digital culture together.

The future is shining bright for man kayan and his family as his genuine effort to promote local pahang culture via music certainly gaining attention from local people, government and corporate company such as TM. Their music will soon be heard in some school in Pahang as part of the school curricular activity which "anak kayan" will be performing in front of the school kids as part of the effort to expose the kids with positive local malay culture and of course invitations to perform for shows will continously keep pouring in for the band especially when their good rapport seems to spread from mouth to mouth, the down to earth persona seems to become another charming amulet to the band since man kayan is not only a person with a calm,loving personality but a down to earth person aswell.

At the the time this posting were published, 20 "anak kayan" songs has finished the process of recording just awaiting funds to print them into CDs, hence any donors or sponsors is certainly welcome by the band to help their music distributed in a proper manner.

Eventough the time has move forward and tradition and culture is something that has becoming something that is not really important to be taken care off in era of starbucks and high speed internet?maybe we shouldnt forget where are roots from and bring them along in our modern lifestyle to keep us grounded and to make us remember that maybe, tradition is something that we all need to makes us a sane human.

EC @ seremban was held 23 - 25 september. sorry lambat update..tade mood kot and stuck with work schedule. anyway it was held at seremban parade. nope, no starbucks at seremban parade..but anyway the peak activity for EC seremban was TM School of Rock Showdown which was held on 24th september(saturday). 10 school finalist performed their best to win the top 3 prize. The finalist was selected from facebook likes which was tabulated previously in a hope to find top 10 bands from participatings school in negeri sembilan.

well the top 10 finalist were smk seremban 2(BG6), smk st paul(zu fonk),smk desa cempaka(fighting square),smk king george v(scarletrose, left defiance),smk mandin(2nd edition),smv port dickson(vee pee dee), smk yam tuan radin(PD rockers), sek men dato abd samad(white snickers), and smk tengku besar burhanuddin(sas boyz).

mr sham visa and din search were invited as jury for the battle of the bands. All 10 bands were pretty good, belting their vocals and showing off every skills they know to wow the judges and crowd, scoring every marks possible to ensure the placing as winner! and the winners are sek men dato abd samad band "white snickers" performing the ol skool hits "jeritan batinku" with their own refreshing rendition and composition. 2nd place were smk tengku besar burhanuddin and third placing scored by smk mandin band "2nd edition". Winner walk away with RM3000 and cert, 2nd place RM2000 and cert and third place RM1000 and cert. yehho!!

well it was a quite succesful event i must say, smooth event coordination and strong support from tm seremban. it was a fun collaboration i had fun working with everyone during my assignment in seremban. next stop is berjaya megamall kuantan, on 8-9 oct. see you there :)

This is my 2nd trip to KK this year, this time for Everyone connects @ city mall. it was quite sub urban, but the mall impressively has starbucks,papparich,oldtown, giants, and boutiques and salons so ok lah mall tu. It was 3 days event. there are few hiccups but overall i took my time to face it all, and just try to adapt on any weaknesses and hope that next time it will improve.

we fly back to KL on monday, 19 sept via airbus A330-300. it was my first time.so jakun lah..best sgt naik airbus wide bodied cause room leg dia luas. Tak sempat nak jenjalan in KK cause taxi fare are quite expensive but we do go out to eat during our free time. where i had my first "elephant trunk" dish. lol. it was quite yummy.

sapelah sangka,neighbour sebelah rumah vampire penghisap dara*oops darah. lol. well in a typical vampire hollywood movie culture,cerita2 vampire ni sinonim la dengan elemen elemen seram tak berapa nak seram dan sudah pasti scene terkejut-terkejut yang akan buat orang menjerit. Fright night tak terkecuali.

jujur ikhlas, tengok movie ni pasal ada collin farrel & toni collete walaupun tak sangka dua orang pelakon famous ni boleh belakon filem gred B mcm nih. Permulaan cerita dia sangat cheesy dan predictable dengan skrip-skrip cliche and pengolahan ceriteria yang sangat sangat boleh tahu apa nak jadi in the next scene.

mengisahkan kehidupan normal pelajar kolej bernama charlie brewster yang tiba-tiba bertukar kelam kabut bila jiran baru yang hot bernama jerry(collin farrel)berpindah sebelah rumah. kejadian aneh dengan misteri kehilangan pelajar-pelajar sekolahnya antaranya kawan baiknya terbongkar bila charlie mula mengenali jerry dengan lebih rapat,dan hidup charlie dan keluarga bertukar ngeri bila jerry mula menunjukkan taringnya yang sebenar.ahaks.

boleh tahan la filem ni tak adalah sucks sangat and it gets better dari tengah movie, dengan kesan cgi hantu dan efek hantu yang agak real.puas hati boleh tengok hantu yang dicgi dengan sempurna.ending jugak make sense dan tak terlampau fiksyen yang tak masuk akal. so apa korang tunggu?pegila tengok ^_^

REVIEW:Contagion

honestly, if you asked me i watched this movie cause of two reason. one, i have to choose between 'hantu boceng' and 'contagion' and ive not seen gwyneth paltrow for the longest time(im not really avid followers of Glee).'Contagion' shows a collective numbers of high profile actors taking cameo roles such as matt damon,kate winslet, gywneth paltrow,jude law,marion cotillard and many more,something that you might not missed if you are a fans of them.

The movie will make you travel back to your lecture hall or classroom, it tells you the chronology of how a deadly virus will spread from one person to another and how a simple unhygienic condition between bat and a pig will create chaos to human global population.

its quite scary when knowing what will happen if such rapidly spread deadly virus might come true disaster. panic and chaos, fear or losing your love ones or your life. its rather amusing when the movie also shows who to believe when the chaos happen. Accusations and theories from many sides would emerges, selfish bloggers(in a film played by jude law) who irresponsible to create propaganda for their own profit accusing and playing the blame game to create fear and to win attention and proving that they are always right(although it may turns out to be a wrong side of info).

this movie runs about 1 hour 3o minutes, it will make you either gonna end up sleeping, yawning or left the cinema hall in fear. Personally, it keeps me awake as if im watching national geographic or CSI but somehow i dont feel any fear stepping out the cinema hall, just a glimpse of reminiscent of how i felt back in biology class,except my favourite teacher wasnt there.

REVIEW:Apollo 18

The first thing i did before i went to watch the movie was checking the film duration. 88 minutes runtime. which means the movie run about 1 hour 20 minutes or so. Judging by trailer i know the execution of the movie will be something similar to paranormal series where the director will try his best to lock our eyes to screen.

so did i lock my eyes to the screen?yes i did in almost 70% off the movie duration. Did i enjoy the storyline? not quite right. Apollo 18 tries to be as real as possible, it will try to feed you with the believe that, there's a living thing on the moon. question is. what is the most possible to live there considering there's no population or physical alienation to be seen?

Hence throughout the entire movie you will be force to wait and to see what the director thought of the possible thing living on the moon. perhaps a smurf creaturelike? theres nothing much you can see in the movie except the moon and the astronauts to the extend in some of shots you will see the close up of the face of the two astronauts Ben Anderson(play by warren christie) and Nathan walker(play by Llyod Owen) to the extend you dont have a choice but to see horrific close up of the Lloyd Owen's face,which is full of "craters". Couldnt help but close my eyes. Thank god it happen once in a while cause face close up usually zoom in the face of warren christie. Damn that man look good up close. hehee.

Well i cant really tell if you gonna see any alien creature popping up on screen in a hide and seek kinda way ala m night shyamalan's 'alien' in his movie 'signs' but doing that, would make the movie to another cliche so lovers for alien tentacles, three finger creature might be disappointed when they see this movie cause its nothing like that.

One thing you can expect least from this movie is a chaotic mayhem scenes, human vs alien ala war of the worlds or will smith's Independence day cause it loosely base on make believe fiction filled with method actings on what could be happening to an unlucky astronauts on the moon. Nothing much to expect except to watch the movie and be ready to be spooks, annoyed, disappointed or amaze for 88 minutes :)

REVIEW:Beautiful, Sexy, Smart Ass Kicking Colombiana!

"i use to want to be like xena, the warrior princess, now...i want to be a killer"Cataleya Restrepo

"Colombiana" is a revenge movie. a revenge movie would be blunt if it wast crafted in such a way that you going to stand up from your seat and clap, or the exciting satisfaction upon seeing that particular devil being punch on the face till all of the teeth fall off. There are two revenge movie that lead by a female hero this year that i watch, the one is "hanna", which i thought was the best female action based movie this year. well i was wrong, "colombiana" kicked it off that chart with not only with it smooth storyline whereby all revenge plot were crafted in a witty ways beyond your expected imagination, secondly Zoe saldana ass kicking, and stunt scenes were not only super strong, but mascular, in an almost ballerina like she kicks,punches and trigger those machine guns as easy and hands on as licking a lollypop!

The movie not only has few iconic scenes that will make you remember in a long while, a witty killing plot away from the usual cliche imagination, for instance in a scene where she carefully crafted the assassination of the victim #23(the jail scene) from the entree till escape plan, it also has some memorable dialogues with subtle meaning that will impress you. One of the memorable ones are the one where emilio makes cataleya choose to either stay in school or just trained her to be killer in a hope to revenge for the death of his father.

Have you ever wonder what actually happen during a car inspection process at puspakom? i went there to do car inspection for "tukar hak milik" thingie. Right at the entrance gate, you will drive your car to a queue line, then the guard will ask your purpose of car inspection. for trade in process, you will be filing up B5 & B7 form. Dont ever forget to bring A PEN beforehand or else you going to end up bagging for pen cause its usually a long queue.

bring some snacks,books,handful of good CDs or else you gotta make fool out of yourself out of boredom!

okay, then you will eventually reach a drive in counter, where you gonna submit the two form, pay RM90 and you will be getting a receipt. you also going to handover your 'geran kereta'(temporarily)

you then going to continue queuing untill you reach the inspection area and from then you will let the puspakom guys do their inspection and you wait till your car inspection is complete.

after that, you wait till your acknowledgement or result certificate is ready, you will then require to submit the receipt and you then can go home with the certificate. The simple process usually going to take a half day. senang jek! then you will then proceed with the 'tukar hak milik' process at JPJ.

Puspakom also offer privaate car inspection process FREE OF CHARGE during hari raya season, thorough check on brakes,suspension,emission test and what not. So just make a lil time for your car for your own safety :)

Freshly emerged in the local music scene last year with the birth of her debut album "from malaysia with love" under the management of "the movemint". Nadhira Nishaa or simply known as Nadhira slowly stampede her steps in the country doing live performances at cafes,clubs and music festivals, where she then later begins to have her own loyal followers and admirers and attention from the local medias.

Admiring Sheila Majid as her favourite local artiste, its not a surprise if you caught some similarities upon listening to her smooth jazzy pop vocal which also has some rnb hip hop flavor smilar to the international artistes like che'nelle, ciara, nivea to name afew. However she stand on her own originality where her vocal tone is still very Nadhirah.

Knowing that the industry moves fast like a blink of an eye, she doesnt need to wait another year to begin the work on her new album,with assistance of Indonesian producer, Wizzow. Her 2nd album "12 Shades" was launch on July 28.The 14 tracks album packed with songs containing urban flavours from jazz,hiphop,rnb to reggae.

For her new album, she also explore the possibility to expose her talents overseas with the collaboration with Australia's new artiste Ron E Jones and producer Tom Diesel as well as collaborators from Indonesia such as reggae artist named Ras Muhammad and canadian's Vandal.

The album not only contains infectious urban melodies but also two beautiful malay tracks "sendiri" and "rindu". From the happy clappy singing along song like "rindu" and slow tempo "sendiri", both songs will surely will make it way into the playlist of local bahasa radios.

Her crystal clear vocal easily translate the message of her songs,making it an enjoyable pleasure to understand what she singing about. There are some shiny tracks with haunting melody such as "god made it this way", "XXL", "make it right", "tears us apart" among others, making "12 shades" a strong album, worth every cents you spent on it.

The first single off the album "tear us apart" is now on radio rotation on FlyFM, Hitz and other local english radio. You might have listened to it(but might mistaken it to a international singer!)

The video was shoot in the centre heart of bukit bintang and KL city,a simple video but was done tastefully. Its an improvement to Nadhira first video "do it again" where in "tear us apart"both Nadhira and Ron acted quite well bridging the emotional vibe of the song to the screen.

I hope Nadhira continues to evolve in her style selection and experiment on whats best for her which best relates to her music,transforming herself into an urban singing princess, with designer clothes, killer shoes, while experimenting with colors,patterns and labels, injecting more stylish elements into her clothing which currently not many local female singer bother to take high attention to.

As self proclaim entrepeneur, hopefully she can become a high sought artiste with tasteful musical talent but focusing also on the possibilities to establish her talents and music into a higher standard in every album release.considering the improvement from debut and her current sophomore outing,it is quite a positive improvement with above average qualities in terms of productions but the creative direction. The album is now now currently made available on amazon,itunes, etc a proactive effort from the movemint label to promote their artiste.In hope, Nadhira will be ready take the center front of a bigger a stage. But then its up to you to take a listen and appreciates what has she got to offer. If you do not give her a chance to even listen, she might join zee avi, shayna zaid, ze! or yuna venturing their steps oversea where they are usually be more accepted.

REVIEW:Wu Xia

It has been quite a while for me to watch chinese movie in cinema. However i found "wu xia" an irresistible movie to say no. With Takeshi Kaneshiro & Donny Yen stared as the two lead role and beautiful cinematography seen in the trailer "wu Xia" definitely a worthy movie to spent my money on.

The movie basically a beautiful movie with dangerous kungfu meets CSI meets crouching tiger. A properly executed movie with an interesting storyline. It tells about how xu baijiu(takeshi) a crime investigation officer during a period era in china accidentally discover the real identity of an ordinary papermaker named liu jinxi(donny) after he accidentally killed a dangerous criminal in a robbery.

set as a period movie, you will be amaze by the film set and the locations in support to the movie fictional storyline, the movie not only offer action packed kungfu scenes,but crafted with amazing visuals and superb acting, something that might appeal for academy awards next year. check out on the two trailers below:-
