You and I know that plus sized clothes aren't exactly very cheap. While other petite girls shop at Bugis, get some $10 dress, plus sized dresses cost around $40 online and about $60 when we go to a physical store. Sigh......

What pisses us bloggers off?

1) You expect a space on our blog featuring your brand but you don't even read our blogs.

"Oh.... So, what do you usually blog about?"

You know, if we're that insignificant, then why invite us to your event in the first place?

2) When you send us small SAMPLE sized products to review.

Seriously, are you trying to say that we are not worthy of a normal sized bottle of your product? Why so stingy?

3) When you ask us....

"So.... When do you think you'll be able to post about our product up on your blog?"

I know you've got KPIs to meet, but you need to realise that we aren't paid to blog about you. Like it or not, we'll post only when we have the free time and only if you give us a reason too. (Not all bloggers are full time bloggers ok. 99% of us are either schooling or working. We need to pay the morgage too.)

4) If you expect us to blog for free AND expect us to pay for your product so that I can blog about it. Sigh..... There was an incident that I encountered where I was OFFERED to do a review of a gadget but yet I was supposed to pay a sum of money first to pay for it. Once I return the product after a week, then I'll get my money back. Why should we pay to do write about you? No names mentioned. I was really pissed the other time actually. I don't understand why other bloggers would agree to such ridiculous terms and conditions.

5) When you conduct blogging contests/make us "ambassadors" so that you can get free publicity from us but at the end of the day, you make us feel like you've "used" us.

There are so many brands out there doing this now, it's so annoying. Sure, this might be an effective way to increase awareness and buzz about your brand. There are ways to avoid making us feel like we're being used. Eg: building relationships with bloggers, read our blogs, show us that you're really interested to collaborate with us, incentives, don't make the mistakes I mentioned in this post.

As bloggers we'd like to be appreciated and be treated with respect. It's not easy to mantain a blog.

Try doing it yourself!

Today, I question the value of our friendship.

I have friends but i don't befriend douchebags. I think i've been fairly nice and tolerant towards you. I tolerated your hurtful and insensitive jokes. I tolerated your rants about your obsession with bikes. Do you how it's like to listen you boasting about the girls you're dating/have dated? *yawns* That's all you talk about. Bikes and girls. It gets really annoying at times.

Until today, it hit me. Why are we even friends? Remember how you would boast about how you and your friends left girls on the expressway, one even at the zoo. Way to go dougebag! The fact that you actually told several people actually shows how proud you were of doing such things. A person who felt guilty, would keep such things to himself. It's disappointing to know that someone i called "A friend" would do such thing to a few girls. You told me those girls "deserved" to be treated like that because they cheated on your friend, made use of your friend yada yada yada. Seriously? Who are you? God? Who are you to decide how a person should be punished for his/her wrongdoings?

What you did simply reflects poorly on your character. You look down on so many people, thinking you're "much better than them".

This friendship is pointless.

Anyway, the yummy burger is not the main point of this entry.

McDonald's hosted 38 seniors from the Lion Befrienders Service Association last week for a Chinese New Year dinner and I decided that instead of going home after work, it'll be good if I attended the event because it's for a good cause. I don't actually celebrate Chinese New Year so I thought it would be a good experience to spend the evening with the seniors.

I tried mingling around with the seniors with the limited vocab I picked up while watching chinese dramas. Doesn't she look really happy?

The highlight of my evening.

This uncle took out his handphone and asked me to come nearer to him so that he could take a picture of me. I was so shyyyyy. And then, he asked if he could take a picture with me. So above is a photo of him and me using my camera.

He said that people with a broad nose (yes, like mine) would have alot of luck. Hmmmm.....

He called me "sayang" which means love in malay and hugged and kissed me before saying goodbye! Haha Wow, that was quite a night. Bf said it might be because I like to go for older guys. Hahahaha right!

Well, let me share with you my experience with Mcdonalds.

3 years ago, in my first year of Polytechnic education, I had this module that required us to do some community involvement work. Thing is, we were given the freedom to contact, plan and liaise with any communities. The kampong being the kampong, we wanted to do something.... much more fun. Something meaningful. So we contacted Darul Ihsan and volunteered to plan an outing for the 15 underprivileged kids. We did all the planning but one thing we were lacking was... the funds for food.

So my group made wrote an email to McDonalds and asked if they were interested to be our sponsor. It was just a small outing. We planned all sorts of games for them!

15 kids aged 9 to 12

5 of us to be facilitators.

Venue: Botanic Gardens

I was really skeptical that Mcdonalds would even reply us. I mean, why would they even bother. We were just a bunch of poly kids, but to our surprise, McDonalds actually AGREED to sponsor the kids food. We were extremely happy and thankful! Think about it this way. Mcdonalds knew that they probably wouldn't get anything in return for the sponsorship but they still did it for the kids. All of us were very touched by their kindness. Actually, we still are. I would love to post the photos of the outing but we weren't given permission to share photos of the kids online by Darul Ihsan. But rest assured, they were all VERY HAPPY. :)

Once again, thank you Mcdonalds.

Not in the best of moods. Sometimes, I ask myself why we had to grow up. I'm sure you have this certain period of time you wish you could go back to. Probably a time that you were very happy with life. That period life was treating you extra kindly. Remember? Why do we have to grow up?

I wish I was 15 all over again. We were young, naive, and most importantly everything was so simple back then.

Now, things have changed. The people you know, are now the people you knew. It's disappointing to look at the people around you who have significantly changed for the worse.

Change is constant. Gotta drill that fact into my head. I wish i could stay in Fantasyland forever.

That's not snow.... It's DANDRUFF.

Can you see that white stuff on my brother's head? It's not that obvious in the photo but I promise you, it's extremely obvious in real life especially when you wear a black top!

Back in primary and secondary school, I used to have very bad dandruff. SO BAD that my scalp bled rather frequently. It's a gross sight, I swear. I felt really shitty everytime someone tells me,

"Eh, there's some white thing in your hair!".

Especially because I'm one of the shortest in class, that also meant that my dandruff was the most obvious and visible to EVERYBODY. Thing is for me, it's my habit to shampoo my hair every morning. So after I bathe, I'll have to go to school and I normally do not have the time to towel dry my hair before tying it up. Especially since in primary school and secondary school, we girls are not allowed to let down our hair, so I had no choice but to tie my hair eventhough it was wet. Now, because I'm in poly, I normally let my hair down and I'll normally just bun it up when it's dry. :)

For me, I do not bathe with warm water. Cold water lessens scalp irritation as compared to cold water. Also, you should NEVER sleep with your hair wet. When you're conditioning your hair, make sure the conditioner doesn't drop onto your scalp. Shampoo is mainly meant for your scalp. That is why, even if you're bald, you SHOULD shampoo your head. Botaks, please take note. Conditioner is more for hair care. Also, dandruff develops when you don't wash your shampoo off your head properly. If you've been feeling stressed and have not been sleeping well you might also develop sudden dandruff. If you don't do all these and yet STILL have dandruff, then maybe.... You haven't been bathing enough. Please bathe and shampoo your hair!! :)

And if you have dandruff please don't use ANY KIND of shampoo. There are SPECIAL shampoos for dandruff like...

Girls and their hairy obsession

Recently, my bestfriend and I went back to BONAFIDES to do hair treatment. I blogged about my experience at the parlour recently, but that time I went for a massage.

This time, it was hair treatment. The kind PR people from Bonafides gave me a discount which was too difficult to resist! In the end, my bff signed up for the hair treatment package because we both thought that it would be good to pamper our hair every once a month. :)

The treatment we did is called the Nano Treatment, which is specially imported from Japan. Basically, it's a 3 step treatment. If you're interested, feel free to drop them a line!

A few weeks ago, Naruko sent me 2 products to try. They first asked me how my skin condition is like. Well, I told them honestly. My skin is oily and pimply. Quite disgusting right? What to do.... :(

I was sent the All day no shine sebum balancer product from the brand am + pm skincare and the Tea tree oil from the brand Naruko.

My boss saw this product on my table and said that she has heard good reviews about the product! :)

This is how oily my skin is by 1pm everyday. Everyday I'll reach work by 9.15 am with make up on and in 4 hours, my make up will look as if it's "gone" because of my oily face. Anybody faces the same problem as me?

After using the product, my skin appears less oily. (Still oily around the nose area but definitely not as oily as before. This photo was taken with the sebum balancer worn underneath my make up.

This product is not only for oil control but also mosturising. However, just a word of caution. Don't use this product so much. Just a thin layer will do. :)

Naruko Tea Tree Oil Out

The solutions is a mixture of water and powder. It contains 2% salicylic acid and 0.025% sulphur which is effective against acne. Basically this product sucks out unnecessary oil to balance the skin's water oil levels. I normally use cotton pads to apply on my blemishes and pimples.

For me, after a few minutes, the product leaves a stinging menthol-like sensation on my skin. It has a minty smell which i like. ~

Date a girl who has a list of books she wants to read, who has had a library card since she was twelve. Find a girl who reads. You’ll know that she does because she will always have an unread book in her bag. She’s the one lovingly looking over the shelves in the bookstore, the one who quietly cries out when she has found the book she wants. You see that weird chick sniffing the pages of an old book in a secondhand book shop? That’s the reader. They can never resist smelling the pages, especially when they are yellow and worn. She’s the girl reading while waiting in that coffee shop down the street.

If you take a peek at her mug, the non-dairy creamer is floating on top because she’s kind of engrossed already. Lost in a world of the author’s making. Sit down. She might give you a glare, as most girls who read do not like to be interrupted. Ask her if she likes the book. Buy her another cup of coffee. Let her know what you really think of Murakami. I felt like I wasn't good enough.

I don't know about you but for me, i do alot of thinking when i'm on public transport.

The long journeys will allow me to reflect on the things i've done and the things that has happened. This time, I'm thinking about how i grew up. I grew up with alot of resentment towards my parents. I remember being extremely hurt, angry, sad and disappointed. My relationship with them, especially my dad was really sour. It was so horrible that there was one point of time that I even ran away from home.

I had a diary and I wrote about how much i hated my parents. I'm an emotional person. Have always been and still am. I always feel better after expressing my thoughts through writing. This silly girl scribbled "I hate mama and papa" repeatedly. I think they read it and I'm sure I made them really heartbroken.

I always felt that I wasn't good enough for my parents. I wasn't a straight As student. I'm not smart. I wasn't anything a perfect daughter would be. I told lies. I stole. I am probably the worst daughter ever. I always felt like no matter what i did, I was ALWAYS the black sheep of my family. Whenever something went wrong in the house, they'd all point to me. My parents imposed many rules on me. They were very, very strict. No sleepovers. No going to your friend's birthday parties. No this. No that. It got on my nerves alot. Everytime i was mischievous, or didn't do well in school, I had punishments.

"No tv for a week."

"Your phone will be confiscated for a month".

"No internet for you".

Being rebellious, the more they punished me, the more hatred i had and the more I didn't feel like pleasing them. "If they wanted me to do well, they would motivate and encourage me, not punish me. Not force stupid punishments on me." That's how I felt.

I wonder if my parents are ever proud of me. I hope they are. I hope one day, they will be proud of me. I feel extremely shitty for being a lousy daughter.

I'm slowly enjoying the scent of freedom.

Last weekend, I met my girls for lunch at Tiong Bahru's Prata Wala. That place has the best Nasi Briyani ever! Just that the price is a little to expensive, but for good food, it's worth it.

This was the day I tweeted about my dress getting more attention than my face. I got alot of stares. As usual.

Being a 19 year old teenager (Haven't hit my big two zero!! Hehe), I believe that when 2 people fall in love, money, background and status isn't an issue. Well, at least for now.

A Singapore Love Story, the 10th novel written by a Singaporean novelist is about 2 individuals who come of different backgrounds falling in love. The girl comes from an upper class family. The boy, was a typical ah beng. The kind who didn't study hard, the kind our mums wouldn't approve of. I was honestly expecting a cliche happy ending at the end, (well, that's what I hoped for actually) but it wasn't anything like that. I'm sure some of you might find this story relatable somehow.

It's easy to start a relationship with someone, but it's not easy to mantain it. In a place like Singapore where the cost of living is very high, you and I both know that a mere 4 lettered word itself is not enough to sustain a relationship in the long run. It's a great book with an unexpected twist of fate. If you're a dreamer, like me, you might want to read this book so that you'll be able to remind yourself of the harsh reality of life.

Amazing story! Get ready to be tricked :P

Sakura Family Restaurant

When it comes to Halal Thai Chinese Cuisine, Sakura Family restaurant will always be one of my favourite places to dine it at. My family and I used to go to the outlet at Eastpoint but it closed down some time back. So... Finally, Sakura is back but this time at Tampines just next to S11 and the Tampines Regional Library.

I got my first paycheck last week so I decided to give my family a treat :)

We ordered a set meal for 3-4 persons which cost around $68.80.

The set consists of Tom Yum Soup

Kangkong Belacan

Pineapple rice (Without the pineapple LOL)

Sakura used to serve this in a real pineapple, but now it's served on a plate. :<

Chicken in Pandan Leaves (6 pieces)

Butter prawn (6 pieces)

Red ruby (4 small bowls)

Also, I added some stuff like their fried noodles. Yums!!

Items below not included in the set meal. :)

Thai fried squid

Thai Fried rice.

Tastewise, Sakura's standards are still as good. Food was really tasty and I'll definitely come back again but 1 thinkg that is holding me back is definitely size of serving of the food. The servings used to be MUCH BIGGER, but now.... Haha well it doesn't look so bad in pictures but when they served us, my eyes was like this O.o ~~ Oh well, what to do.... The whole meal cost me $111. Haha beautiful number.

Well, boys and girls when you get your first paycheck, remember to give your parents a treat. :>

I get this question alot. Everytime I get this question, I feel like stabbing myself.

*Stabs chest*

Honestly, it really depends on the brand/product/event itself. As much as the main purpose of this blog is not for monetary gain, I spend alot of time on this blog writing each blogpost, playing around with HTML codes for the blog layout, editing pictures, planning and managing content. If you're talking about promoting an upcoming event/your blogshop/portal, most probably you'd have to pay for an advertorial on my blog. (Mode of advertisements HERE) I spend alot of time on this blog. This includes writing, taking photos, editing pictures, planning and managing content, i hope you don't expect me to have an ad space. Anyway, small bloggers like me don't earn much.

This website is just a small space in the world wide web i can call my own.That being said, if you invite me to your event/send me your products and I really like it, i'll probably do a review / share it on my blog for my readers. Yes, I'm talking about free coverage here. But take note that as long as I'm not paid, I'm still not obliged to write about it. :)

Something I learnt from my past relationships and the people, nobody likes to be with a girl who’s too emo, too insecure and too clingy. (I used to be one of those girls, but because of our distance, I’ve learnt to be a little bit more independent than I used to be.) Well, according to my radar ahem, men like to feel appreciated, cherished and feel good about themselves. So, ask yourself this.

We as girls, expect our boyfriends to be sweet to us and sing us praises, but we don’t do the same to them. Why not, take the time today to call him tonight before you sleep and tell him how much of an amazing partner he has been to you. I promise you, he’ll be sleeping with a smile on his face tonight.

Love is such a beautiful thing, don't you think?

No, don't get me wrong. I'm not proposing to anyone. Just that I've been watching alot of videos about wedding proposals and I thought it would be nice to share it with you. It could probably give you more ideas on how to make your wedding proposal memorable.

This man fell in love. Literally. I thought this idea is pretty simple and creative. ;)

Dena Bahrin's proposal. This is probably one of the sweetest and the most unbelievable of the lot. Fine, it's only unavailable because I don't think Malay men are even romantic or gutsy to begin with. Sorry boys! I couldn't help but to tear after watching this. Read Dena's post here. ~

Well basically Dena and her partner haven't really met/gotten to know each other well. So he gave her a camera as a gift (Pretty smart! Cus the camera is actually one of the things on her wishlist according to her blog. LOL) So in the camera, were pictures of him with the proposal.

This proposal was by Timothy Tiah, co founder of Nuffnang with Malaysian blogger Audrey fourfeetnine using internet memes. Read Audrey's post here :) ~~

It got so viral that the video was even up on Mashable! Crazy!

I'm sure you've watched this a long time ago, our blogger queen Xiaxue was also proposed in a romantic way ever. I was lucky to witness it with my own eyes too! (Okay, long story short, I used to be a Nuffnang Gliterrati + blogger. Shall not go into that.)

It was actually a movie screening and I got a tad annoyed because the movie didn't start on time. I was grumbling, "Man, when is this going to start?!" and suddenly some video appeared on the screen and the proposal happened. It was amazing. Really. :")

I think of all the proposals I've seen, this is really the most dramatic one. Her boyfriend really planned the whole proposal really well! Flash mob, the cheating drama etc. Wow.

And then I recently came across an article on stomp about a China girl proposing to her boyfriend.

A GIRL, yes. So.... Would you girls ever do this to your boyfriend? My first reaction when I read this article was, "Is she out of her mind?!!!". Hahahahaha, well it's sweet though. Let's see when the time comes when I'm old enough + have enough money, whether I'll have the guts to do the same. It would be interesting. I just hope I don't get turned down. :P

Well, before my boyfriend and I got together, he dropped hints that he liked me here and there but he was never straightforward about liking me. Even until now, he's STILL very shy with me. Cute!! :)

You know me, I don't like hints. I don't like guessing games. So one day, I just decided to be honest about it. I asked him to be my boyfriend...... Via Whatsapp. You know, via the emoticons? Hahahahaha YES, I KNOW RIGHT. Fine, it might seem really shameless to you, but it was really sweet for the both of us. Cus after he agreed I told him, "No, do it again. This time, you ask me!" and he did. You could say that our relationship isn't very "typical", but it's the little details like this that makes it all worthwhile.

Anyway, bf's birthday is this month. Hopefully I can plan something sweet for him. Have any ideas? Feel free to share it via the comment box below!

Rynaque.com has gone from nothing to something and it has been an amazing journey. I know I have repeated this time and time again but I’m just really thankful for the support everyone has shown me. Readers rarely leave comments because I guess it’s quite a hassle to log into your blogger account just to say a few words, but judging from the number of readers I get daily, I know that a fraction of you do return back to this page every now and then. Lookout for more things on this blog next year. I promise you, things will get ~~a little bit~~ a lot more interesting!

I'm not really much of a Pastamania fan. My bestfriend is. Everytime I go to Pastamania with her, I would request for Chilli padi. Is this normal? Hahahahahaha

I ate Chilli padi with my beef lasagna.

I also like Pastamania's Hot Basil Chicken pizza and i'll request for them to put chilli padi on top. No extra charge too! SHIOKADOOS!

So... Am I weird?
