Its not everyday we have big famous superstar rappers/singers come from their civilized countries to visit a backward countries in Africa like Egypt but the one time it happens it can create controversy of epic proportions.

Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood has been struggling for some time over how to respond to escalating regime repression, arrests of its most moderate leaders and local organizers, constitutional changes expressly aimed at limiting its political participation, a frenzy over the alleged resignation of its Supreme Guide, and media campaigns aimed at tarnishing its image at home and abroad. With all that, did it really need to take on… Beyonce?

The story, according to Lebanon’s al-Akhbar, is that Jay-Z recently announced a date in an Egyptian resort on the 6th of November but the Brotherhood (AL-IKHWAN) Parliamentarian Hamdi Hassan went ahead and challenged the Prime Minister & the Interior Minister to defend their cause as to why she was given a permit to perform in Egypt. This has to do with the fact that a beautiful non-islamic woman should not be performing in a Islamic ARABIC country….Lamers.

It is events like these that puts Egypt on the map and makes the country make money I would have thought?

You go about your business like no other person does. You seem to attract attention from others just for acting like you always do- yourself. You see no benefit in hurting other people’s feelings nor are you keen on changing others to think like the way you do. Your life is full of obstacles, but like a river you cut a new path to jump its hurdles. You are are goodhearted, strong, intelligent, philanthropic, imaginative and sensible. Even though your life is like a big rollercoaster that has its up and downs you are still able to laugh, cry, celebrate, joke, tease and most importantly comfort (others).

We all admire a person that is independent, a person that has a full life and you, my friend, seem to have it all.

Oh Xaasid..Have you met someone like this??..

The world is full of people you know, some are good and some are bad. However, to truly meet someone like what I wrote above is nothing short of a miracle and guess what? I can say without a shadow-of-a-doubt I have met someone like this. Actually I believe I have met a select few that meet the above criteria but none that have been able to interact with me at a level if you understand what I mean. They usually all tend to be people dedicating themselves and their time to the less fortunate, like the many starving kids in poor African based countries.

..So?…And your point is…?

Ok, ok. What I am trying to say is I want to praise the people I met whilst on my short trip in the United Kingdom. People like Gabriel, who I actually met on the day I was leaving to London Heathrow airport. He has dedicated himself to voluntary work around the world (working with the UN) and has hardly had a single month of freedom with his family. Kudos to you bro, and I hope you enjoy South Africa, I know its going to spice up this summer with the world cup and all!

..Anything else…?

Yes, the most important bit actually. Do you remember my very strict guidelines for finding the perfect miss xaasid (click) ? Imagine finding someone that meets all those criterias (that I preset) and also has the following characteristics (as mentioned in the first paragraph of this post). Would that truly not be a miracle? Wait, wait. I said before that meeting the above type of person (this post, first paragraph) was a miracle, so that would mean meeting someone that meets both criterias would be nothing short of an Angel.

..Don’t tell us..you met such a person?!

Ladies and Gentlemen, I believe I have. Now what I decide to do about it is my own business but you will get the usual hints and tips in the upcoming posts so dont be too disappointed. Remember, I have to take my time, play my cards right and be patient;

The beauty, the smile, the eyes, the white teeth, the lips and the personality -look at me getting carried away!

But, you see, it is at times like these that one wonders whether it’s worth being involved with anything let alone anyone. Having said that - even against your(my) better thinking/conclusion- you choose to let your heart win. And then what can you do but to succumb to the “one” ? I am clueless, if you have the answer make sure to let me know.

You probably went ahead reading the title thinking this is an article dedicated to love or passion- something to do with the heart..am I right? Aha, I thought so. Dont forget, I like to think a lot and this my friends is one of those times.

I know for a fact I have made this article very confusing for one to read but this is what is floating around in my head amongst other things such as gastro-intestinal hormones (physiology) and anterior abdominal wall (anatomy). It’s back to the old me I suppose -having multiple thoughts- but stay tuned, I will try to clarify it all soon…I hope.

Perhaps its better if I just stopped thinking hahah.

A mystery woman called Jennifer has become the talk of the town in Bigola, NSW, Australia, after a series of signs appeared on telephone poles along Barrenjoey Rd, the busiest road in the area…

Her supposed lover erected five separate signs overnight on the roadside, spelling out his feelings, which started out as romantic…

…but took a sudden darker turn

Locals are divided over whether the signs are a joke or a love rat’s very public humiliation of Jennifer

Amidst Thoughts 2

Last time I was in this type of mental status I wrote a post I aptly named “Amidst Thoughts“…now I am hitting you all with Amidst Thoughts 2!

Looking back at the past year I can only glance, gaze and stare and still only say WOW! I mean all the things I have gone through, the people I have met, the enemies I have made, the things I have purchased, the emotions I have experienced, the new cultures I have learned about, the new food I have tried, the many new races and tribes I have mingled with..heck even the things I have learned at university -apart from the arabic language- have been amazing. God truly has created a world of many mysteries and wonders that are beyond the scope and comprehension of a single human being living on this earth today - how dare they say the world just “came into existance” by itself????

..Whats new brother??..

As usual I am around, dealing with life in a “bring all you got” stance where I am ready to take on anything at any time. I believe this sort of approach to life prepares you for everything and anything. However, the things God can throw you at anytime could be more than you can handle. I mean, I would have never thought I would be complete enemies with a fellow family member - althought not an immediate family member but never-the-less a family member indeed. It’s incredible how things appear from out of nowhere and hits you in the face kind of like a sucker punch. But what I have mastered is the fact that it’s not about how well you handle the situation but what you learn from it.

..Emotions…Feelings…?

During the past year I saw many couples and then I saw many couples split. I think theres a big misconception amongst people these days, especially the young ones out there, the people we like to call “youths”. What exaxtly are emotions? You may describe it as the “feeling funny” inside, like a type of excitement, empathy, passion even.

Infact, the British Dictionary describes the word “emotion” as:

An affective state of consciousness in which joy, sorrow, fear, hate, or the like, is experienced, as distinguished from cognitive and volitional states of consciousness. It is usually accompanied by certain physiological changes, as increased heartbeat or respiration, and often overt manifestation, as crying or shaking.

Now lets compare this to the definition of “love” by the same dictionary:

A profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person. A feeling of warm personal attachment or deep affection, as for a parent, child, or friend. - A sexual passion or desire even.

Do you see the difference between the two? One is a clear understandable feeling, a clear “attachment” where the other is an unexplained feeling of which you have no control. What do you think?

Science describes Emotion/Love as:

physiological changes, accompanied by the cognitive elements such as thinking.

I think I have been experiencing something along these lines lately but only God knows what exactly it is as I have no clue what so ever…blah love..good if you got it…shame if you dont I guess?

Sex, Drugs, Rock & Roll….hahaha not really. I am set to start my 2nd year as a medical student. I am looking forward to it, its really nice getting back with the guys and girls of the class, my mixed race arab - international friends. If any of you are reading this then I just want to say i’ll see you all soon!

I think I better get some sleep, too much things in my head and so little time! Expect an “amidst thoughts 3″ soon.
