News- Silverlight heading to the Xbox 360

The Xbox 360 Console is getting some more new software upgrades as Microsoft has announced that they are going to bring Silverlight (their version of Flash) to the Xbox 360. With Silverlight, video could be presented through Xbox LIVE with 1080p HD and full 5.1 Surround Sound. Not only that, but advertisers would also have a whole new platform to work with in bringing you ads on the Xbox 360 (...), also in high definition. The ads, according to Sean Alexander (Director of MS Advertising Business Group) will allow for user interactivity, which seems like cool thing. Not really sure how I feel about all the advertisements though. The Silverlight technology is set to hit the Xbox 360 sometime within this year.Via- TeamXboxMediaPost

Well, here is some good news for all those who experienced the E74 error on their Xbox 360 consoles. In the case that you ended up paying for the repair, you should have a fresh check from Microsoft by now*. Website News- XBO Revamped Arrives on July 1, 2009

The following is from an H-ZONE Media announcement-June 23, 2009 - XboxNowOnline (a subsidary of H-ZONE Media) has announced that the website will be returing from hiatus on July 1, 2009. The Xbox and Xbox 360 news website had initially gone on hiatus as part of a restructuring phase in H-ZONE Media. This summer, the website plans to continue Xbox and Xbox 360 news coverage and commentary. The website also plans on proceeding to review hardware and some games for the Xbox 360 console. Hamza Dar will continue to serve as the editor in chief at the website. A new concept of the website will also be the aspect of reporting technology related news as a secondary option. XboxNowOnline has new graphics and videos in store for release later this summer.

In a recent press release, publisher Capcom along with SumthingElse has announced that they will be releasing the soundtracks to some of their games. The soundtracks are set to come out in the near future on either iTunes, the website sumthingdigital.com along with an actual CD, so you can take your pick. Commentary- Slammed with the Red Rings of Death

Well, it's happened folks. I went to go and power my Xbox 360 on last week, and I was happily greeted with the three red lights that everyone just loves. I didn't think that it would happen to my 360, two years after I bought it, but it did. Anyways, I called up Microsoft support and they confirmed that the problem was indeed an internal hardware failure (who knew?), so I shall be sending the unit in hopefully sometime this week (whenever my shipment box arrives). This happening to my very own Xbox 360 really made me appreciate the extended warranty that MS put on the console. Ah well, I guess I will be 360less for a little while, but until then I suppose I could pull out the Nintendo 64 and play some Goldeneye 007 (which by the way will probably never make it on to Xbox LIVE Arcade).Via- Just thought I'd share

Motion Xbox 360 Controller? Check.

Well, this is very interesting stuff, as far as GDC 2009 goes. PDP which stands for Performance Design Products showed off today, what is a full motion sensing Xbox 360 controller. In the past, there have been some serious rumors about this sort of thing, but now its all real. The controller is set to hit store shelves this fall, with a game called Squeeballs. This new controller goes by the pretty kickass (in our opinion) name of GameTrak Freedom. According to IGN, the controller comes bundled with a USB unit which plugs into the Xbox 360 allowing it to wirelessly communicate.Via- IGN

As of March 27, 2009 XboxNowOnline will be presenting forth a new genre of content.The following will be the new content span:We will make posts regarding general how-tos that some people may or may not know about.We will still post reviews on a variety of games.We will continue to make occasional news posts.We will post new commentary and opinion on whats going on in the gaming world.We will still cover gaming events.We also plan on getting XBO TV established as an occasional program.Basically, XBO is going to become an all rounder website blog (instead of the current strict news status) with the intention of presenting you with content that you find relevant to daily gaming.
