Equalling or bettering Manchester United's result would seal glory at the Etihad Stadium, but former boss Mark Hughes aims to spoil the party in order to avoid relegation
With no injury or suspension news to worry about, Roberto Mancini has a full squad at his disposal for the game that could secure his side Premier League glory.

With that in mind, Manchester City are expected to be unchanged, fielding for the third match in a row the XI which overcame Manchester United and Newcastle to put them one game away from triumph.

For QPR, both Shaun Derry (dead leg) and Akos Buzsaky (hamstring) face late fitness tests, though Mark Hughes may be willing to risk the former in particular to maintain his midfield's toughness for potentially their most difficult game of the season.

Samba Diakite will definitely miss out with a virus, however, while Alejandro Faurlin remains on the sidelines due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury. Djibril Cisse, who scored the crucial late winner against Stoke City last time out, may be drafted into the starting line-up.

MANCHESTER UNITED TEAM NEWS: Chris Smalling and Danny Welbeck will both miss out.

Smalling (groin) is set for a summer operation that will rule him out of Euro 2012, while Welbeck (ankle) has not recovered from the injury that he sustained during last month’s Manchester derby.

Chelsea will warm up for the UEFA Champions League final against Bayern Munich in Germany later this month with the visit of relegated Blackburn Rovers to Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

The game is meaningless for both sides with respect to their ambitions in the league with Chelsea staring down the barrel of their lowest placing in a decade after a midweek thumping from Liverpool, while Rovers are condemned to life in the Championship.

The London side can no longer finish higher than sixth and will have to win the Champions League if they wish to feature in the competition next season having won just once in their last five league games.

But the game gives Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo an excellent chance to experiment with his team selection.

Di Matteo will be concerned by the amount of players absent for the Munich showpiece on 19th May through injuries and suspensions.

He needs a replacement for FA Cup centre back pairing of John Terry and Branislav Ivanovicwho are both banned for that match, along with Raul Meireles and Ramires.

For Blackburn, a late defeat to fellow strugglers Wigan ended their hopes of avoiding the drop and they will end this campaign with under 35 points for the first time since 1978/79.

Steve Kean's side have lost seven of their last eight league games and will be determined not to bow out of the Premier League with little more than a whimper.

Team news

Chelsea may gamble on the fitness of Brazilian David Luiz, who will have one last chance to prove he will be ready for the game against Bayern.

The 25-year-old damaged his hamstring during Chelsea's FA Cup semi-final victory over Tottenham Hotspur in mid-April and has been sidelined ever since.

The game is likely to come to too soon for another hamstring victim Gary Cahill, who picked his injury up in the Champions League semi-final second leg against Barcelona.

John Obi Mikel, Petr Cech and Didier Drogba were all rested against Liverpool and could feature this weekend.

Blackburn will be without defender Bradley Orr who is having surgery on his troublesome Achilles tendon.
Kean is sweating on the fitness of goalkeeper Paul Robinson who he rates as 'touch and go' to be available, while midfielder David Dunn will also have a late fitness test.

Defender Gael Givet will be available after a specialist gave the all-clear for the Frenchman to play despite limping off against Wigan.

Chelsea and Barcelona both faced setbacks this weekend in league play in respect to their goals, but both must forget them quickly as they prepare for the second leg of their Champions League tie at Camp Nou.

Chelsea played Arsenal to a dull 0-0 draw, while Barcelona suffered a 2-1 defeat to Spanish rivals Real Madrid. The tie for the Blues hindered their chances of claiming a fourth-place finish in the EPL, and the Barca loss all but mathematically eliminated them from winning their fourth straight La Liga title.

But when the game kicks off on Tuesday night, none of this will matter, as a Champions League title is the top prize either of these teams can now hope for.

Barcelona are heavy favorites heading into the match, but they are going to have to make up a one-goal deficit after they failed to break down a resilient Chelsea last week. The Catalans dominated possession and the run of play, but Chelsea relied on their strength and a well-organized and incredibly disciplined defense that frustrated their opponents into a 1-0 victory for the hosts.

However, Chelsea could be without their star of the first match, Didier Drogba. The striker scored the only goal and provided much-needed hold-up play to give the defense a break.

Fernando Torres may be forced into the start and will have to perform up top on his own, as few would imagine the Blues not sticking to the same game plan at Camp Nou.

Bet365 has Barcelona the favorites at 1/4, Chelsea at 9/1, while the draw is 5/1. Lionel Messi is the heavy favorite to score first at 7/4, with eight other Barca players ahead of the first Chelsea men, Drogba and Torres, who are both at 10/1.

Player to Watch: Fernando Torres

If Drogba is injured and kept out of the starting lineup Tuesday, Torres will have to be the one to make something happen. Though Chelsea sits on a 1-0 lead and can advance with a loss by only one goal, it is really illogical to think that Barcelona will find the net only once in three straight matches. Torres most likely will have to create a goal somewhere.

The real issue is that unless the entire squad out there is working to suit Torres’ play, he seems to vanish and become obsolete, as he did against Arsenal over the weekend.

With wingers and a midfield that are more comfortable going direct and playing it out wide, as opposed to working possession through the center and finding Torres on a run, the Spaniard essentially provided nothing all game.

On Tuesday, it would be foolish for Torres to think that he will have it any easier. There will be even less midfield support, as the entire team will drop back to help out on defense. If Torres is going to make anything happen, it will have to be on his own and out of nowhere.

The only thing that benefits the striker is the lack of physicality the Barca defenders play with in contrast to the EPL’s. Torres has played better in Europe than England this campaign, mostly because he does not not get pushed off the ball as often and with so much ease.

If Torres can manage one goal, it may take Chelsea’s hopes of progressing from a dream to a feasible reality.

Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has never once allowed Barcelona to score more than two goals against him and has given up one or less in their last four meetings.

Arsenal go into this game suffering a loss to relegation strugglers QPR who ended the Gunnerâ€™s 7 game win-streak. Because of that loss, this game has become even more vital for our fight for automatic Champions league qualification.

Man City have been going through a rut and have only managed 2 wins out of their last 9 away games. If there was ever the right time to face them this season, today is that day. They have played some exceptional football at the beginning of the season with the technical ability displayed by Aguero and the sublime passing supplied by David Silva. However both, especially the Spaniard, have tailed off as the season has progressed and are not the same threat they posed the last time Arsenal faced them.

Arsenal, on the other hand, surprisingly started the season dreadfully before pulling themselves together and playing some sublime football themselves. The likes of Van Persie and Walcott are going to be key to our attacking threat against Man City. They will have to take every opportunity they get as youâ€™d expect little space from a team that is contending for the title. But that in itself could be Man Cityâ€™s own undoing. They have to win this game if they want to catch United. If they even get a draw, they lose the title to their bitter rivals and they would absolutely dread that. As a result, they will unrelentingly attack our defence with every opportunity they get. This will potentially mean a lot of counter-attacks available for Arsenal and thatâ€™s what we thrive on against the bigger teams with all that pace Walcott, Chamberlain and Gervinho provide.

The defensive unit itself must be compact as well as unforgiving if Man City make any attacking mistakes. The likes of Vermaelan, Szczesny and Song will have to cut out any mistakes they usually make once a game as they will be put away by the desperate blues.

I decided to pick Chamberlain over Gervinho as the 18 year old Englishman seems to play blinders against the biggest teams in Europe (remember the likes of Man Utd, Milan etc.). The rest picks itself. Gibbs is questionable but I still think Santos needs to play against weaker opposition before he becomes a consistent starter again.

My Prediction: Itâ€™ll be tight but Iâ€™m quietly confident of an Arsenal win, 3-2 to the Gunners.

This match must be an easy one for Manchester United that at home surely would be really difficult to lose points in this end of the season. Another interesting fact is that Fulham haven't score a goal in Old Trafford since 2006 so must be even more difficult for them in this critic match for the Red Devils.

Fulham traveled to Manchester without some important players like Orlando Sa, Zdenek Grygera and Steve Sidwell but they have some other quality players so i believe that those abstence are not going so much important considering that they have to play much more in a defensive way. Manchester United has to play in this match without the captain Nemanja Vidic that had been out from a long-time and won't be available for this season but this is the only player out for the coach Sir Alex Ferguson.

It seems like Manchester United does have everything in their side at the moment and Fulham won't be really a problem for them tonight in Old Trafford. In this case i believe that Manchester United would have it easy to beat Fulham tonight and to score many goals so ill take Manchester United to win this one with at least three goals ahead.

Chelsea at Manchester City. Yikes. This is the toughest fixture left on the Blues' domestic slate, and it's coming in a competition in which we really could use

all the points we could get. City, of course, are perfect at home, having won all fourteen Premier League matches they've played in the Etihad Stadium

(although Napoli held them to a draw in the Champions League and both Manchester United and Liverpool have had success there in the domestic cups). It

falls upon Chelsea to break that streak - but it's not like we haven't managed to wreck any of City's runs so far this year.

Team News

As mentioned earlier, Chelsea will be missing both John Terry and Oriol Romeu, which means that they're fairly restricted in terms of team selection in the

back lines. Neither player's absence is the end of the world - Gary Cahill is a capable understudy for Terry, and it's not like we've seen much of Romeu over

the past month or so. John Obi Mikel can do more or less the same job.

Manchester City welcome back Pablo Zabaleta and Gareth Barry as they look to shore up their stable of amazingly mediocre players, but there's unhappy

news for Roberto Mancini on the defensive front. Centre back Joleon Lescott is definitely out, and Vincent Kompany is, by most accounts, a major doubt.

Losing their main central pairing would make City far more vulnerable to the likes of Didier Drogba and a possibly revitalised Fernando Torres. The big

news is the return to the substitute's bench of Carlos Tevez, who has been welcomed back to the team after saying he's very sorry for refusing to play for them.

Tactics

Now that Yaya Toure has returned from the Africa Cup of Nations, Manchester City have gone back to their usual shape - a a 4-2-3-1 with Yaya Toure

anchoring the attack while a trio of attackers flit around him. Against Swansea, Mancini played David Silva, Samir Nasri and Mario Balotelli, and I'd expect

Nasri to be dropped for Aguero on Wednesday. The pivot be filled by one of City's stable of pretty decent central midfielders - Nigel de Jong, Gareth Barry

and James Milner could each fit in, and it was the latter two that played against the Blues at Stamford Bridge.

As Carefree Chonicles pointed out earlier, one of the most obvious aspects of City's formation is that their wide players aren't really deserving of the

moniker. Assuming Adam Johnson doesn't start (and there's no reason to assume he will), City will be fielding a pair of players who love to cut in on the

flanks and relying on the fullbacks for width. This means that their trio in the centre is going to be reinforced by the likes of Silva and Aguero to create rather

unhappy overloads for the Blues.

My response would be a shape I don't usually favour - a 4-4-2 diamond. This would restrict the centre, allow Torres and Drogba to attack City's fragile

defensive pairing and give Juan Mata the freedom to create without having to worry about much in the way of defending. Sure, it would leave the fullbacks

exposed, but most of City's threat comes through the middle so it's not as though that's the worst thing in the world. Here's the lineup I would put out:

Chelsea (4-4-2): Petr Cech; Ashley Cole, David Luiz, Gary Cahill, Branislav Ivanovic; John Obi Mikel, Michael Essien, Ramires, Juan Mata; Fernando

Torres, Didier Drogba.

Roberto di Matteo can make alterations depending on what Roberto Mancini does, but I'd suspect that coming out in a diamond, something Chelsea haven't

done in 14 months, would be enough of a surprise that the Blues can establish themselves early. Daniel Sturridge and Frank Lampard are casualties of the

hypothetical new formation, but both are potent weapons even while on the bench.

Shape is only the start of things though. Chelsea will need to work very hard to get the ball back as well as looking for holes in City's defence on the

transition. Clogging up the centre and frustrating our hosts is the key to Chelsea breaking up their opponent's perfect run at the Etihad. Streaks are for

breaking, and although the Blues will have to play perfectly in order to get one point (or three) from their trip up to Manchester, it's by no means out of the

question.

The Newcastle United bubble has burst in spectacular fashion and Norwich City took full advantage of Alan Pardew's plight, coming out 4-2 victors in an entertaining clash at Carrow Road. The visitors, who until three matches prior had been one of the last two undefeated teams in the Premier League, had since hit a rough patch thanks to a vicious schedule, earning a solitary point from matches against Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea, and had also picked up a slew of injuries along the way, meaning they were forced to field a completely makeshift defence against the Canaries.

It didn't work. The opener came in controversial fashion: Tim Krul was adjudged to have taken the ball out of play, and the resultant corner ended up pinballing around the Newcastle box before being turned in by some combination of West Hoolahan and Danny Simpson. Demba Ba would strike back before half time with a neat finish from Yohan Cabaye's lovely through ball, but it didn't take Norwich long to reestablish their lead, with the Canaries striking twice in quick succession via the heads of Grant Holt and Steve Morrison to open up a 3-1 lead.

Things would go from bad to worse for the visitors shortly thereafter. Dan Gosling, who was already having a game probably best described as 'atrocious', upended Russell Martin with a dangerous tackle and with the midfielder already on a booking Martin Atkinson was left with little choice but to dismiss him. The irrepressible Ba managed to come up with a brilliant second goal, signifying that perhaps all was not lost, but instead of a comeback, Newcastle got to see Holt nodding past Krul in the final minutes of the game, putting a gloss on the scoreline and easing Norwich's fears.

Athletic Bilbao are up against Valencia in what star striker Fernando Llorente is billing as a 'huge match'. A fine run which saw Les Leones put together four straight wins was ended by two successive away defeats to Mallorca and Barcelona. Though the Champions League places may be just out of their reach, Athletic could open up a gap and secure their place in the Europa League qualifying positions.

Gaining Domestic And Continental Momentum Is Key

For Valencia, a win at the daunting San Mames could open up some breathing space between themselves and Villarreal in the race for automatic Champions League qualification.

Los Che suffered continental hangover last weekend after being frustrated by the ever-improving Sporting Gijon. They remain in third, two points ahead of the Yellow Submarine and need to build on their good form lately.

Coach Unai Emery has had a week to prepare for this game, and is eager for his charges to get a result in Bilbao in the run-up to the Champions League return legg clash against Schalke 04. Real Madrid will be looking to maintain or extended its La Liga lead in a home clash with Malaga on Sunday. The Blancos currently lead El Clasico rival Barcelona by 10 points with just 12 fixtures left for Barca to make up ground.
Due to all of the Champions League drama, Madrid hasn't received enough credit for its tremendous campaign. The Blancos have only dropped eight points season. They are also on an 11-match league winning streak since losing a game against Barcelona all the way back in early December.
Malaga won't go away easy, however. After finishing in 11th place last season, the Boquerones are fighting for a European spot, so they'll have plenty of motivation heading into the match. Picking up at least a point against Real Madrid would provide a boost mentally for the stretch run.

The most amazing thing about Benzema has been his ability to produce goals no matter what role Jose Mourinho decides to use him in. Whether he's in the starting lineup alongside Cristiano Ronaldo or coming off the bench, he doesn't complain and just keeps finding ways to make things happen.
It's resulted in 13 goals and five assists for the 24-year-old French star. He's been on fire lately, finding the net four times over the last five games. If he's able to maintain that form, there's no way Barcelona will be able to chase down Real Madrid.
He's come in as a sub in each of the past two games, both Blancos victories, so Mourinho would be wise to keep things the same. Benzema provides a nice spark when he comes on.
Malaga wouldn't be in such a promising position if it wasn't for the strong play of Rondon. The rising star has seven goals and four assists in his second season with the club, and he should only continue to improve as he gains more La Liga experience.

His poise in front of goal is rare for a 22-year-old forward, and that's what makes him so dangerous. If he's given room to operate, more often than not he's going to create a terrific scoring opportunity out of it. Levante found that out the hard way last weekend when he buried the game winner shortly after half.

The Boquerones need to find a way to give him involved early. Like most strikers, getting those touches in the first handful on minutes allows him to settle in. Madrid kept him in check the first time and will need to do so again this time around.

Key Matchup: Cristiano Ronaldo vs. Martin Demichelis

Ronaldo leads Lionel Messi by two goals for the La Liga lead. Messi has captured the major awards in recent years, so the Portugal international is trying to knock him off his pedestal. If the Blancos are able to hold off Barcelona, scoring more goals than Messi would be like the cherry on top for Ronaldo.

Stopping him will be the Demichelis' job on Sunday. Ronaldo scored a hat trick in the last meeting, so whatever the Malaga back line was trying to do failed miserably. The 31-year-old veteran will need to make sure his fellow defenders are on the same page. If they let Ronaldo get loose, he'll bury it.

The Boquerones need to stop him from dominating the game like he did last time if they hope of picking up even one point. That's always said than done, of course. After all, Ronaldo is one of the best strikers on the planet.

What They're Saying

There have been plenty of questions about the future of Mourinho, but Ronaldo believes the boss will remain at Real Madrid next season (via ESPN):

But Ronaldo is confident that his coach is going nowhere. "Mourinho will stay with Real Madrid next season," he told reporters. "But it is the club that is the most important thing and not Mourinho, or me."

Malaga midfielder Santi Cazorla respects the roll the Blancos have been on lately, but still believes his side can cause problems for the leaders, according to Mark Doyle of Goal.com:

"This has been a good week for us, resulting in very positive position in the table which gives us much more confidence and tranquillity," the winger told reporters on Thursday.

"[Madrid] are a tough opponent and very strong but we must face them [head on]. We can do them damage. We must be aware that we can win.

"And we will go out to try and win, as we do in every game. We need audacity and to know that in a one-off game, anything is possible."

Blackburn and Sunderland will be looking to edge clear of the drop zone when they meet on Monday.

Both sides sit on eight points heading into their latest fixture, with that return leaving them just two points above the bottom three.
They will, however, feel that their respective standings are not a true reflection on their efforts this term.
Blackburn have suffered only one defeat in their last four, but have found goals hard to come by and have only found the target twice in the same game once this season.
Sunderland have fared marginally better than their opponents of late, going through their last five unbeaten, but four consecutive draws have prevented the Black Cats from climbing the standings.
Rovers will fancy their chances of bringing that run to an abrupt halt, as they are a formidable proposition on home soil.
They have suffered only five defeats in their 33 league fixtures at Ewood Park under Sam Allardyce and only Manchester United have stopped them from scoring in their last 13 matches in front of their own supporters.
Worryingly for Sunderland, their away record suggests they could struggle to make much of an impression at fortress Ewood.
They have won only two of their last 32 league games on the road and have emerged victorious in only two of their last 10 Premier League meetings with Blackburn.
Steve Bruce's side have also managed just one clean sheet in their last 21 top flight fixtures away from the Stadium of Light.
History, though, suggests that Monday's contest will be keenly contested, as seven of the last 10 meetings between the two sides in all competitions have been won by a one-goal margin and the other three were draws.

Team news

David Dunn is expected to play some part for Blackburn, with the creative midfielder having shaken off a hamstring strain.
Vince Grella is still missing, though, as he continues to nurse a similar ailment.
Keith Andrews is also out after having an operation on a groin injury while Ryan Nelsen is a doubt with a thigh problem.
Sunderland striker Darren Bent is a doubt for the Black Cats as they travel to the North West.
Bent returned from England duty with a groin injury and Bruce is hoping he can shake off the problem in time to play, although record signing Asamoah Gyan is on stand-by should he fail to make it.
Loan signing Danny Welbeck, who was ineligible for the game against parent club Manchester United last time out, returns to the squad, while Kieran Richardson, Anton Ferdinand and John Mensah have all shaken off hamstring injuries and like Craig Gordon (broken arm), are back in contention.

Benitez is reportedly considering a summer exit from Anfield following his contract disagreement, but the Spaniard - who moved to England in 2004 - is adamant that off-field issues will not distract his players.

The former Valencia boss is expected to hand star striker Fernando Torres his first start since returning from a hamstring injury as he looks to crack Everton's watertight backline.

Torres - who has three goals in two games against Everton - has made substitute appearances against Preston and Stoke following a six-week hamstring problem but he is now deemed fit to feature in the first XI.

Attacking problems

Xabi Alonso should take a place in the centre of midfield after his recovery from a foot injury, while Alvaro Arbeloa's return to fitness will see Jamie Carragher move back to the heart of defence alongside either Martin Skrtel or Daniel Agger.

Everton have much-publicised problems in attack due to injuries and the suspension of Marouane Fellaini.

Belgium international Fellaini has been playing as a makeshift forward in the injury-enforced absence of Yakubu Aiyegbeni and Louis Saha, and his suspension is likely to leave fellow stand-in striker Tim Cahill in a lone role.

Defender Joseph Yobo could come into contention after missing the last four matches because of a hamstring injury, but Moyes may opt not to tinker with a stable rearguard.

Manchester United will aim to banish the memories of their European home woes when West Bromwich Albion visit Old Trafford in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Red Devils suffered a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Athletic Bilbao in the Europa League on Thursday, having lost 2-1 to Ajax in their previous home game.

The nature of United's defensive display against Bilbao will have caused Sir Alex Ferguson some angst after the Spanish side completely outplayed their opponents.

United's home form in general has paled in comparison to last season's imperious run, with Crystal Palace having won at Old Trafford in the Carling Cup, and Basel and Benfica securing draws in the UEFA Champions League.

Struggling Blackburn Rovers also won at the Theatre of Dreams in the Premier League on New Year's Eve and Ferguson will be desperate to avoid a repeat of last season's result against West Brom.

The Baggies were the only team not to lose at Old Trafford in the league in 2010/11 after coming from two goals down to salvage a 2-2 draw.
Benign run

With United pushing local rivals Manchester City, Ferguson knows his team can ill-afford to drop points after coming through a tricky run of fixtures just two points adrift of the leaders.

United's only remaining game against a top-seven club is the short trip to City at the end of April and Ferguson will want to make the most of a seemingly benign run-in.

West Brom, however, head up the M6 in impressive form on the back of a three-game winning run which helped to bring about the end of Andre Villas-Boas' time as Chelsea manager.

Gareth McAuley's late winner against the Blues last weekend proved to be Villas-Boas' last match in charge and the Baggies will now hope to put a dent in United's title bid.

The reigning champions scrambled to a 2-1 victory at West Brom on the opening weekend of the season when summer signing Ashley Young's cross was deflected into his own net by Steven Reid.

Team news

After making several changes to his team for the defeat by Bilbao, Ferguson could revert to the starting line-up which secured a 3-1 victory at Tottenham Hotspur last weekend.

Rio Ferdinand seems certain to be restored at centre-half, while Rafael da Silva's doziness for Bilbao's third goal could cost him his place at right-back.

Paul Scholes, who has scored four goals in six Premier League appearances against West Brom, is likely to return in central midfield alongside Michael Carrick.

Danny Welbeck is also expected to replace Javier Hernandez up front, with Nani in contention to return on the wing at Park Ji-sung's expense.

Chris Smalling will be checked on after reopening the head wound he suffered on England duty against Bilbao, while Tom Cleverley is pushing for a return.

Captain Nemanja Vidic remains out for the rest of the season, but goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard, winger Antonio Valencia and striker Michael Owen are working towards a first-team return.

West Brom boss Hodgson faces a dilemma at right-back after Reid was ruled out for a few weeks with an ankle injury suffered in the win over Chelsea.

Billy Jones is the likely replacement, but he must prove his fitness ahead of the game after suffering from a hamstring injury of late.

If Jones fails to make it, then either centre-half Gabriel Tamas, or left-back Nicky Shorey, will be used on the right of defence.

Shorey warmed up for the game by starting in midfield when the two clubs' reserve teams met earlier in the week and he scored the only goal.

Jerome Thomas is also an injury concern due to an ongoing hamstring niggle, so Chris Brunt is on stand-by to start his first game in over two months.

Milan head into this fixture in confident mood after finding their feet and form this past week. Two impressive victories, first against Palermo and then BATE Borisov in the Champions League, have shown that the Italian champions are back, finally.
Max Allegri’s men will be hoping to add another win to their form book in Southern Italy as the side still has some catching up to do in the standings. Currently, they sit in 13^th position, four points behind leaders Juventus.
Team News
The injury crisis may be over, but, doubts remain over four players as the team prepares this fixture.
Clarence Seedorf, Alberto Aquilani, Thiago Silva and Kevin Prince Boateng are all suffering various niggles and none may feature at the Stadio via del Mare.
Alexandre Pato also remains on the sidelines still with a hamstring injury along with Gennaro Gattuso who has an eye injury.
The good news here is that Massimo Ambrosini is back in the fold and could play a part.

ACMB Prediction
The form book all points to a Milan win here. Lecce have been in woeful in recent matches while the champions are playing like champions, again.
But, the Milan’s terrible history of results away to Lecce (one win in their last nine) does not bode well. Not only have Milan found the Stadio via del Mare a difficult hunting ground in recent years, only on three occasions in their last ten matches have they scored more than two goals.
Last season Milan came away with a 1-1 draw in the same fixture. It was not a convincing performance as they registered just three shots on target.
The loss of Thiago Silva is not as problematic as it would have been in the past now that Allegri can call on Philippe Mexes, who will probably make his first start for the club.
With the Frenchman lining up alongside the experienced Alessandro Nesta, I cannot see Lecce scoring.
But, I can see Milan getting on the scoresheet at least once. Antonio Cassano will likely partner Ibrahimovic in attack with Robinho to slot in behind them to form the trident that was unstoppable against Palermo last weekend.
So I am tipping a Milan win here but not by a great margin.
