i need change a id preferably in xf on vb the id is 138 on xf i manually added it as id already imported forums and this sub forum was added after in order to get the import to work i need it to be 138 and not 142 is the a way of changing it in the db

Hi there,

Currently a site in domain.com/forums and wishing to move it into domain.com. SSL is configured and I added the following at the top of the .htaccess file.

Code:

RewriteCond %{HTTPS} !=on
RewriteRule ^ https://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI} [L,R=301]

When the SSL was added as we did not want it to be added to the WordPress inside the root until things were ready to be moved. Do I need to add anything else to the .htaccess when moving the forums other than altering the ACP...

I'm migrating a xenforo forum i've just purchased over to a new domain/style.

Thats the easy part however the original site comes with a WordPress blog with 1000+ posts on it.

I don't want to use the blog right now but want to migrate it for SEO purposes etc.

How can I easily migrate all the WP posts into a xenforo blog setup?

Or failing that send form WP to WP and style it within my forum so if someone does find it they can easily navigate to my forum.

File upload limits

A user needs to upload some video files, but runs into a size limit that seems to be around 10Mb.
The XF attachment file size is currently set to 25600 Kb.
PHP configuration shows the maximum_allowed_size for uploaded files is 200Mb.

.htacess contains:
# Use PHP5 as default
AddHandler application/x-httpd-php5 .php

Is there something else required in .htaccess? Anything else I should check?

We run a very large number of community sites (upwards of 200). We started moving a few sites over to the xenForo platform over the past few years and we do prefer this product over vBulletin.

However, Google prefers vBulletin. What can we do about this?

Here are a few examples to illustrate:
*) in google webmaster tools we receive notices about vBulletin patches that are available, we have not received any concerning xenForo

Favicon and Apple Icons?

I've got a favicon.ico in my root directory, but even after clearing the cache it doesn't show up in any browser. Am I missing something? Is there a place in XenForo I am overlooking where you can set the favicon?

Lastly, is there somewhere in XenForo (or some way?) to add Apple app icons?

I'm hacking the Image Proxy to downscale large images, server-side, before caching them.

I have added the following code to ../Library/XenForo/Model/ImageProxy.php, starting at line 315 (just inside the if (!requestFailed){ ... } block):

It would be nice to have the ability to create Q&A nodes/forums similar to Ask.Ubuntu or to what IPB has.

I am getting swamped with attempted logins for my new site, with over 100 different IPs constantly on my site. From the ones I have been able to identify by server logs, many are known spammers. With the xf_login_attempt table I can easily tell which ones are trying to force attempted logins, by the login being used, but the IPs are in varbinary(16) format. Is there a way anyone knows that I can export and easily convert these to the proper IP address, so that I can add them to my server...

Hi all,

A quick question i'm struggling to find an answer to i'm afraid.

A user of mine has thrown her toys out of the pram and left the forum in a huff. She's also deleted a load of really good content she produced.

I'm in the process of restoring this content at the moment from the version history - however, she's deleted the attachments to.

Can someone confirm my fear which this means they are gone for good? I was hoping the link was deleted and not the actual attachment from the...

I think its weird that no real trial of xenforo is offered. i guess for being scared of piracy wich would be understandable. But because i DO need to know if xenforo can be my software and not having to throw away a whopping 140 dollar for a guild, i have some questions.

Route Filter on Node Numbers

I know the route filter can be used to remove the numbers at the end of nodes. For example:
random.9 -> random

But I've seen very few/no sites use this, even thought it clearly looks better.

Any reason I may be missing? Is there any benefit to leave the .X number at the end of the node?

Disable post count in certain forums

I tried to do a search but only found old threads back from 2011 saying that it was not possible without an add-on...hoping that such a thing is supported out of the box now. I can't figure out how to do it though as I looked through the settings and don't see such an option.

I've not converted my MyBB forum yet, but I know this will be a problem, so I am posting now.
Is there any way to redirect old MyBB url's to XF links? Using htaccess perhaps?
MyBB URL's look like this,
