These edits will add a GRID LISTING of sub forums in your forum list and forum views.

Its pretty simple... but unfortunately, it requires template edits.

1st you need to setup your domain name MX records to point to your custom google email.

Select Standard from the Apps Editions

Then click on get started,

you will be prompted with a field to enter your domain name :

Follow the instructions from there. Google covers every major Domain registrar on how to Edit your MX records.
once you verify your domain, Activate the Email service and add a new user. In this case will create support@mydomain.com So all of the administrative emails generated by xenforo will be sent from that email : support@mydomain.com

Then logon to your XenForo admin panel and select the option tab

Then select Email options :

Then finally setup your xenforo to use google SMTP Like this

Make sure you enter support@mydomain.com complete (the whole email string) your password you just setup with google apps.
The port is 465 or 587
Select SSL

Click save and happy emailing

This way you avoid having your emails flagged as spam on your users end.

"Global" Variables

Two variables that are available in all templates are:

$visitor - This is like $bbuserinfo in vB. It is an array that contains values for the current logged in user. It pulls from the fields of the xf_user table. For example, you can use these references in the templates and in template conditionals:

$xenOptions - This is like $vboptions in vB. It contains settings from the xf_option table in the database. The indexes are the option_id values from each record in that table. For example, here are some references that work in the templates and in template conditionals:

How To Find Other Variables

In xF the variables that are available to each template are explicitly defined in the code. All front end templates are called from this directory:

library/XenForo/ControllerPublic

There is a section below to help you find the relevant ControllerPublic file. For now we are just looking at a specific example. For example, the thread view pages use the thread_view template which is called from this file:

Here you can see the $viewParams defined followed by the template call.

As an example, you can see thread and forum defined for use in this template, so you can use references like this in the thread_view template to access the current thread and forum records for the page:

As you might expect, these records pull from the xf_thread and xf_forum tables in the database.

There are many other $viewParams defined here. If you don't know what all of the variables contain then you can debug them.

Debugging The $viewParams

To see what a particular variable contains you can use a template helper called dump.

Building on the previous example, we can debug $thread by adding this code to the thread_view template:

Using Debug Mode To Find The Relevant ControllerPublic File

Enable debug mode on your forum by adding this line to your library/config.php file:

A lot of people have commented on the appearance of the WYSIWYG / Tiny MCE editor.

Well here's a very simple edit which makes it blend in a bit better to the default style, matching the border radius settings of other elements.
Even the menu items get the radius.

If you're doing small stuff you probably have instructions from the forum here on which template to work on.
Find your template by opening your admin area (admincp) and click the Templates area.
PASTE the name of the template in the box on the top bar on that page.

In the template you can always test for where to put something by putting in

TEST TEST TEST

then see where it shows up!

Do not use punctuation like
commas , or " exclamation marks ! question marks ? hyphen - underscore _ or a dot .
These get code dangeroudly excited. If you just use letters it won't damage anything.

Basic safety rules foir tweaking (adding small bits of code).

1. Code has to be EXACT. It is cruel and stupid in its reactions if you make one dot or one bracket wrong. DO NOT RUSH.
But you rarely cause disaster of you follow these rules.

2. Do one tiny item at a time. Check the public view (frontend). Not OK?
back in the template use keyboard CTRL+Z to Undo, then try again.

3. If you can, allow 2 empty lines of space above AND below your change so it is easy to find when you return - do NOT rely on memory.

4. Never delete the code you see.
You may need it again if your change does not work. Also if you get help your helper will find it useful.
Use comment brackets instead.
Put  after it.
This hides or disables whatever is in that bracet. It cannot be seen in public (frontend) and the system cannot use it.
In a css list put /* before and */ after the part you want to disable.
If you MUST delete because it is too mixed in with the code, keep a copy in a document log so as to replace it later if necessary.

4. Learn to respect <xen: if> and <div> brackets.
These are brackets that MUST match a partner. The partner will be further down.
If you put code in the wrong place so these brackets are disturbed you get strange results. If you follow the basic rules above you can fix it. But it's faster for you when you do not need to fix it.
<div xxx> matches the NEXT </div> you see.
Disturbing this marriage can make a whole page go crazy!
<xen: if xxx> matches the NEXT </xen: if> you see.
In the same family is -
<xen:else> matches <xen:else />
<xen:foreach> matches </xen:foreach>

5. Use comment code to LABEL what you do.
In 6 months you will not remember what you did. If it fights something else you add later you will not understand. Or you might want to remove this later. Or someone who comes to help or work with you will need to find it.


In a css list this might be /* SHOUTBOX DESIGN */

6. Keep a log - a brief diary of all changes. Then you can find it later.
I make lots of changes but I transferred them all to a new site in just over an hour because I keep a list, and use comment brackets in the templates.
Example part of my log record. I keep mine A-Z.

[XenForo Tip] Use APC

Make a new file called apc-test.php with inside it the following code:

and run it from the browser. Search for the APC block, if you can't find it or it reports as disabled, then I strongly recommend either installing it, or enabling it.

The Alternative PHP Cache (APC) is recommended by XenForo Limited, and after running XenForo alpha and beta for a while and then turning it on, I can tell you: they are right.

Pages load snappy, as if they are run from localhost.

The server load goes down.

The above two points are the main two reasons why I run it.

Running vBulletin on the same server showed a load between 0.25 to 0.50.
Running XenForo on the same server (after import) showed a load between 0.15 and 0.35.
Running XenForo with APC on the same server showed a load between 0.05 and 0.15.

I can imagine that bigger sites will benefit even more.

It might be obvious to some, but easily overlooked by others. So I thought it was worth reminding people to consider using APC in order to make the most of their XenForo installation.

And now for the XenForo part Update the library/config.php with these values:

Country Custom Field Made Easy

What is this?
Just a simple little modification for those of us who want our users to be able to select what country they are from. This tutorial will save you a fair bit of time when setting it up.

*Note: The country list WILL NOT be maintained and this IS NOT SUPPORTED in any way, shape or form. This is simply a tutorial to make adding countries easier.

The Setup Process
The setup process is pretty straight forward, but make sure you have access to FTP and phpMyAdmin before you get started.

Step 1: Setting Up the Flag Sprites
- Download the attached file "flag-sprites.zip" and upload the "styles" directory into your root XenForo directory.
- Login to the Admin CP and within the admin search find "Extra.css". Paste the contents of flags.css into that template and save.
Step 2: Setting Up the Custom Field
- Login to the Admin CP and head to "Custom Fields" under the "User" tab.
- Click on "Create New Field" and enter the following information in.
- Under "Basic Information" add the following:
  Field ID: country
  Title: Country
  Description: *Anything you want*
  Display Location: Personal Details
  Display Order: 100
  Field Type: Drop Down Selection
- Under "Options for Choice Fields" add the following:
  Value: test
  Text: Test
- Under "General Options" do the following:
  Check off any options you want to set for this field.
  
  In Value Display, add the following:
  HTML:

- Save this field.
Step 3: Import the Countries via phpMyAdmin
- Login to phpMyAdmin and find your XenForo database.

- Check your Country Field to see if the countries have been successfully added.
- Remove the "Test" option if it is still there.
Step 4: Enjoy! Let me know of your success.

After this guide your site should be loading almost instantly. Even a larger site. There are other server side methods to speed up your site but these are simple and quick fixes. I repeated all this and created the guide in less than an hour.

A must have. This will compress whitespace and javascript on your site and cause noticeable differences right away.

Remove Sidebar Share Page
This is a simple way to increase your front page load time. Simply open the template sidebar_share_page and delete its content. Anytime you would like to re-add this to the sidebar, simply revert the template.

By doing this you will minimize DNS look up on the front page.

Host Jquery with google
By not hosting the file yourself and by allowing google to host it, users that have downloaded it from google before will load it a lot faster. To change this go into your Admin Panel and navigate to Home > Options > Performance. Set the Jquery source to Google Ajax API CDN.

Cookie Free Domain
This is rather tedious way to speed up your site but a great way one.

1. Create a subdomain (if you don't know how to do this, contact your host provider). I generally name mine static. So it'll be http://static.YOURSITE.com
2. Move your skin folder and XenForo folder to the root of the subdomain folder.
3. In your admin control panel go to Appearance > Style Properties > General > Settings > Path to Image. Change it to http://static.YOURSITE.com
4. Now go to Header and Navigation change the logo paths to http://static.YOURSITE.com/xenforo/logo.png
5. Now go to Forum List and change each forum icon path to http://static.YOURSITE.com/xenforo/widgets/FORUMICON.png
6. After using XFOptomize, move your js folder to your subdomain folder. In your Admin Panel, navigate to Home > Options > Performance. Set the option_JavascriptSource to http://static.YOURSITE.com/js
7. If you use a custom skin go you'll have to go through and find any custom image and change its link tohttp://static.YOURSITE.com/CUSTOMSKIN/IMAGELINK

Check GTMetrix under YSLOW tab > 'User cookie-free domain' to ensure all images are part of a cookieless domain.

Compress your images with Smush.it

Smush.it compresses your images to help quicken the load time. GTMetrix will help with images not compressed, but for all other default XenForo images, I have uploaded them here. I'll try to keep this up to date as often as possible.

Cache Control and Header Expires
Simply adding Cache Control and header expire to your .htaccess file can greatly speed up your sites speed by cacheing just about everything. Here is my current set up, add it to the top of your file.

It is recommended that you do this last. Your members may have larger files and older non compressed images cached if you do this at the start.

This is not an add-on. Until someone does a proper add-on or we have it in core here's my workaround.

To add your own block to the sidebar

- so you only have one place to edit/ update it for all the pages where you add your sidebar:

First create your own template. Not as scary as it sounds!

Admincp/ Appearances/ Templates
Top right click button Create New Template
It needs a name you can remember connected to the block you'll add.
My custom block is a menu list of pages and forums - the basic top level node tree. So I called my template "nodemenu."
The name must be like a password: one word/or a sequence of letters and numbers. It can also use underscore_ or hyphen- but must have NO spaces.

Here is an idea of what I put in the content box.

The two code lines at the top come from Floris. This makes your block look like other sidebar blocks. They MUST have the "divs" at the bottom, one for each line at the top.

To make separate lines of plain text add

at the end of a line. Otherwise it'll display as one long line even if you use Return on the keyboard.
Use html - make a table - or link to a graphic.

Save your template.
Now instead of putting the code above for the standard XF sidebar in all the types of pages ...
add a line of code in the middle.

NAME is the name of your own new template.
For example my template to insert a list of links to the node tree is called "nodemenu."
So my code for adding to pages is

Go through all the pages on the list up top here in this post adding this to the bottom.
Once you've done it, all you have to do to change your menu block on all the pages, is edit the new template you made. So for example I need to edit my "nodemenu" template.

I know this is very simple and nothing original to me. I think it's useful for novice admins to have a collection of bits like this in one place with all the steps spelled out thoroughly.

XenForo Guided Tour

I am working on a guided tour for users at my most recently converted board. I'm still trying to think of things to add to it, and picking up on suggestions from users on what to add to it. This board was last converted about 8 years ago, and came from vBulletin, so it was a vast sweeping change that I felt I needed to have a guide tailored to them. Many people don't have a knack for figuring out new forums, and I needed to figure out a bunch of this stuff myself anyway, to expand my perspective. So, it describes many things from scratch, tries to explain things in simple terms, and shows buttons and examples that are as close to live as I can get them.

It's self-aware - e.g. if they're not logged in, it starts off by pointing them in that direction (or to the sign up page if registration is enabled). If they don't have an avatar, it tells them how/why to get one. And so on and so forth. It uses a lot of XenForo template syntax in order to do this, as well as to grab the CSS needed to show the users the buttons exactly as they would look in the selected style. I decided to do that instead of a bunch of screenshots, because while screenshots do the job, they don't do the job as well as I wanted (especially for how many different styles and browsers my users are using).

My intent is to be able to share this with the community, especially once it's more fleshed out, but at the moment I'm not quite sure how to distribute it. It's currently a collection of page nodes on my forum, with specific URL portions needed in order to maintain all the links. There is also some CSS needed to support it. That basically involves a lot of copying & pasting in order to set it up, which is not nearly as elegant as I'd like, but I'd still be happy to distribute it that way if anyone is brave enough and if it would help.

How to identify and remove border radius from all individual elements

What started out as an exercise to try and remove all the radius so I had a blank slate to start from, turned into a full scale hunt for all the border radius throughout the whole style.

How to create a Page node

I've posted this elsewhere but it's buried in a thread and will be overlooked by a lot of members so I'm reposting the instructions here.

To create a new page go to ACP -> Applications -> Create New Page

Select Page and configure the fields.

Enter a URL (e.g. myfirstpage) – this will be the URL of the page, for example: http://www.myforum.com/pages/myfirstpage/
Enter the title, e.g. Welcome To My Forum
Enter a description – this is optional and will appear as muted text below the title (see the screenshots below)
Select the Parent Node – this can be the root, a category, forum or another page
Set the display order
Check the checkbox if you want the page to be visible in the list
Enter your markup (HTML/CSS code) in the Template HTML field – see the notes below
Select whether you want the published date and number of visits to be displayed in the bottom right hand corner of the page
Select whether links to sibling and child nodes are to be displayed within the page
Finally you have the option of forcing the page to display in a particular style, no matter what style a member is using.

If you want page content to look exactly like post content then you must wrap it in this div:

Those 3 CSS classes are responsible for:

defining the font settings (messageText)
styling URL links (ugc)
resetting the html back to “normal” (baseHtml)

All content must be wrapped in these default classes to enable pages to use the same CSS as forum posts and automatically update with each style

The image below shows a comparison between a forum post and a page with baseHtml & messageText CSS, baseHtml only, messageText only and no CSS classes.

As you can see the appearance is quite different in each case.

XenForo Recalculate and update all user post counts (query)

XenForo How To Start A New Forum Site (for dummies)

This is a general guide for starting an online forum. This is intended for people who have never setup a website before and who need foundational knowledge about how to proceed.

You will need the following things:

Web Server
Web Host
Domain Name

Web Server

There are different kinds of web servers depending on your needs. I am going to break them down generally so you can quickly know what you need.

When I say "concurrent users" I mean the number of users that are logged into your forum at once. I am talking about the list of online users (see picture below). This list shows all users from the last hour.

Shared Server

Concurrent users: 1-50
Price: $0 - $50 per month

Shared servers are good for smaller personal sites.

A shared server is a computer that has multiple hosting accounts on it. There is no strict partitioning of resources. As such the performance can be unreliable. For example, if one hosting account gets hit with a lot of traffic then it can slow down other sites on the same server. But shared servers are very cheap.

My experience with shared servers is that they tend to become more reliable over time. I think this is because the server population matures over time as the host allocates the remaining accounts on the server and deals with resource hogs.

Semi-dedicated Server

Concurrent users: 50-100
Price: $50 - $100 per month

Semi-dedicated servers are like shared servers but they have fewer hosting accounts on the server. That means each account gets more resources and you can push more traffic to your site.

Dedicated Server

Concurrent users: 100+
Price: $100+ per month

You get the server to yourself. You get consistent and reliable performance.

Dedicated servers can get very expensive. For very large sites you will need to figure out what server specs you need in terms of CPU, RAM, etc.

VPS Server

Concurrent users: 50-100
Price: $50 - $100 per month

VPS stands for virtual private server. It is similar to a semi-dedicated server except there is strict partitioning of resources through virtualization. That also means you get full root access to the server so you can manage your own server configuration. Performance on VPS servers tends to be slower but more reliable than semi-dedicated.

VPS servers can be good for development environments requiring root access to the server. But for a production environment a full dedicated server is usually a better deal.

Cloud Server

Concurrent users: scalable
Price: varies

A cloud server is a virtualized hosting environment where you can purchase more capacity on demand. Cloud servers can be good if you aren't sure what kind of server capacity you need, and you want to be able to quickly and easily purchase more capacity in anticipation of increasing site traffic.

No matter what kind of server you get you will have allocated storage. People often ask how much storage they need for their forum.

How Much Storage Do I Need?

The two main considerations are the number of posts and the size of the attachments. Post attachments can be a big factor if you allow lots of large attachments on your forum. Those attachments are stored on the server. I always use my forum as an example:

size of posts - 65MB

So my forum requires about 300MB of storage (looking at the database size).

Most web servers come with some kind of hosting control panel which is where you manage your server. The two common control panels are CPanel and Plesk. Both are equally functional. I personally prefer CPanel.

Web Host

You rent a web server from a web host. You will need to shop around. Read reviews.

Domain Name

You register a domain name using a registrar. Here are some registrars that come to mind:

Some web hosts are also registrars and will let you register a domain at the same time that you purchase a web server. That makes domain registration and setup much easier. But if you use separate companies for hosting and domain registration then this is the process:

1) Get a host.

3) Get DNS information from your host and give it to your registrar. That will point the domain to your hosting account.

XenForo Understanding Permissions

Types of Permissions

Not Set (No)
Not explicitly set. Effectively a No if there is no Allow in other applicable permission sets. In the Node Permissions this is Inherit which means that permission is inherited from the higher level User Group Permissions and User Permissions.

Allow
This is like a Yes. The permission is granted.

Revoke
This is only used in the Node Permissions. A Revoke can be overridden by an explicit Allow but not an inherited Allow. Revoke is designed to reduce a user'sNode Permissions in the absence of an explicit Allow. More on this later.

Never
This is an overriding No. The user won't have this permission even if there is an Allow elsewhere.

Permission Sets

There are different permission sets which come together to determine a user's overall permissions. These are the levels of permissions:

Admin CP -> Users

> User Group Permissions
> User Permissions
> Node Permissions

The User Group Permissions define the base permissions. Then the User Permissions are an optional set of permissions that can be defined for individual users. These two sets merge together to form the base permissions for a user.

Then you have the Node Permissions. These permissions are inherited from the previous two sets. In addition, node permissions of a parent node are inherited by child nodes. You can set node permissions per group and per user, and these two sets of permissions merge together to determine a user's final permissions per node.

Permission Math

Here is some permission math for the combinations that might not be obvious:

Not Set (No) + Not Set (No) = Overall No

Not Set (No) + Allow = Overall Yes

Not Set (No) + Never = Overall No

Inherited Allow + Revoke = Overall No

Allow + Revoke = Overall Yes

Allow + Never = Overall No

Pay special attention to the Revoke ones:

Inherited Allow + Revoke = Overall No

Allow + Revoke = Overall Yes

Only an explicit Allow (as opposed to an inherited Allow) can override a Revoke. A Revoke is designed to trump inherited access and reduce a user's permissions unless you explicitly Allow (no inheritance) that permission elsewhere in the Node Permissions (e.g. for one of the user's other groups).

Use Cases

Here are some notable use cases. I may add more later.

Creating a private forum

Because of the way Revoke works in xenForo you shouldn't use it to restrict a private forum. Instead you should use a special feature in xenForo calledPrivate node. You will see the Private node checkbox when editing the permissions for a specific node. This basically inverts the permissions so that you can specify Allowed groups instead of Revoked groups. This is actually better for group management if you add more groups later.

Admin CP -> Users -> Node Permissions -> [select a forum] -> Private node

XenForo [bd] Rotating Ads 1.6

As the name suggested, it allows you to rotate your ads randomly in all XenForo's hook positions. If you don't know what a hook is, no worry because the addon comes with a list of common positions so you can choose instead of find it our yourself.

Cool features (in my opinion)

Allow you to specify any number of ads for each position. If there are more items configured for the position, they will be randomly selected
Provide a special position: second post. Imaging you have a virtual post after the first post of all threads
Support slider ads (a list of images with links, using Nivo Slider)
Support Widget Framework. If you happen to install Rotating Ads with Widget Framework, you will have 2 additional widgets to choose (use wrapper or not). You can create multiple widgets with different position codes to display different sets of ads in different pages. Note: this addon can work independently without Widget Framework.

It has been written in such a way to make it easy for everyone to understand and be as search friendly as possible.

What is XenAtendo? Installation / Upgrading

What is XenAtendo?
XenAtendo is add-on software developed specifically for XenForo forum administrators.

What does XenAtendo do?
This mod adds an Event Schedule and RSVP system to XenForo. Whenever a user submits an event, a thread can optionally be created in a forum, and tie the event into that thread. From there, users can RSVP for the event, as well as find additional information such as google map integration and live streams. This mod will also add an "Upcoming events for this week" module to the top of the defined event forum. If XenPorta is installed, then an Upcoming Events block will be available for the portal page as well.

What version of XF do I need?
The add-on has been is frequently updated. The most frequent updates occurred after XF 1.0.1. Use of this add-on on earlier version is at your risk.

How do I update my existing installation?
- upload the entire contents of the attached zip to your XenForo root overwriting any existing files

- set options for the event system in the ACP > Home > Options > XenAtendo
- set usergroup permissions for administration and user rights

Configuration Options

Many configuration options are straight-forward. I will review the ones which users have asked questions about.

How does Calendar Cutoff work?
This option involves events which continue past midnight. Admins need to determine how far an event needs to go into the following day to be considered as taken place on that day. As an example, let's assume you have scheduled a New Year's Eve party on Dec. 31st. The party begins at 8pm and ends at 4am. If your calendar cutoff is set for 6, then the event will only show on Dec 31st. If you calendar cutoff is set for 3, then the event will show on Dec 31st and Jan 1st.

How do Event Forums work?
When an event is created, the user has the option to create a linked thread in a pre-selected Event Forum. The forum selection options are determined in the ACP. Multiple forums can be selected by holding CTRL or SHIFT keys while using your mouse.

How does Override Thread Creation work?
If checked, the selected forum becomes locked down to where new threads cannot be created except by creating a new event.

How does Minimum Event Hours work?
This is the shortest time an event can last. If this option is set to 4, then the shortest event must be scheduled for at least 4 hours.

How does LiveStream URL work?
If your site has a dedicated LiveStream channel, it makes sense to set this option in the ACP. Otherwise, this option can be set during the creation of each event.

Permissions

XenAtendo's permissions are pretty straight forward. It is highly recommended to not use the "Never" permission setting. If you decide to ignore this advice, be certain that your admins are not a member of any group which uses the Never permission, or you will be restricted from using or administrating XenAtendo.

Is your permissions are properly set, your administrator will see the "Administrate Streams" option under the Events navigation tab.

Event Creation

As long as your forum account permissions are set, you should see the Post New Event button on the right side of your breadcrumb. Pushing that button naturally causes the Create Event screen to appear. The top of the screen includes the event title along with a comment field which is basically a forum post you can use to provide a detailed description. Most questions arise when completing the lower portion of the Create Event Form.

Venue: a title of the location for the event

City, State, Zip: the Google map will update based on this information. The map is very good and will work world-wide. Of course, the spelling needs to be accurate. If you are unsure, press the Refresh Map button and it should update.

Stream URL: if there is a stream associated with the event, enter the URL, otherwise leave the field blank.

Enable RSVP System: this allows users to confirm their attendance at the event.

Create Event Thread: this option creates a linked thread in the selected forum. While the Event and it's Thread are linked, they are still separate entities. If an event is deleted, the linked thread will automatically be closed with a notice. However, if a thread is deleted, the linked event and all RSVPs with it will be deleted as well.

Google Map Tricks: You can actually put ANYTHING you want in it... as long as google maps can find it. You can even completely ignore the "address, city/state/zip" requirement and instead input "latitude, longitude" and it will work just the same.

You can even choose to ignore that and input any defined location that google has in the system. For instance, just input the address as "Chrysler Building" and leave the city/state/zip blank. Google will find it without any issues.

What streaming services are supported?

Where can I find the stream I set up in the ACP?
add /stream to your site URL. So for my site it is www.TeraPVP.com/stream

Can you upload an image to the event?
You can create a post which is linked to the event, then edit the first post to upload the image in the thread.

How do the thumbnail images on events work?
If the event has a stream associated with it, the stream's avatar will appear. Otherwise the event creator's avatar will appear.

How can I RSVP for the next several instances of a recurring event?
Recurring events only can be RSVP'd for the next occurrence. If today is Monday and you have a weekly Saturday event, you can RSVP for this Saturday's event, but not past that point.

How can I turn off the Google Map?
Remove any address information.

How can I change the default Google Map location?
The default map location can be changed by modifying the below code in templates EWRatendo_EventsCreate and EWRatendo_EventsEdit. When you go to maps.google.com you will see the default USA map. If you modify that part of the URL to google for your country, you will see your default map.

Using England as an example, try replacing maps.google.com with maps.google.co.uk and you will see the map centered on England.

What do all the colors on the Event Calendar mean?

- Days from the prior and following month show as medium blue in the first and last row.
- Weekends show as light blue.
- The current week shows as a peach color.
- The current day shows as a gold color.

Troubleshooting

Why am I sometimes taken to a forum thread, and other times taken to the event page when I click on the event in the Upcoming Events block on the portal page?
If an event has a forum thread linked to it, you will be taken to that thread.

Why didn't my event stop re-occurring after 3 months? I have my recurrence setting at 3 months.
Recurring events technically recur TILL THE END OF TIME; this is a setting to calculate how many recurrences to show in the calendar; and its recalculated with the cronjob at the end of each night. So a 6 month recurrence from TODAY, is not the same as a 6 month recurrence from TOMORROW. Allowing users to edit this could also create an abuse issue. In order to set an event for a specific number of weeks, the tournament organizer must cancel the last instance of the event manually.

Why is my calendar date/time wrong?
The calendar shows based on the TIMEZONE set on your account. If you are not logged into the forums, then the forum timezone is used.

Why is my stream not appearing?
- Some streams have permissions which restrict viewing to either the main stream site or a specified location.
- Check your URL to ensure it is the real URL of the stream and not an alias. The method of checking varies by vendor. For uStream, view the source of the page and search for the text "channelUrl".

Why isn't my Upcoming Events block is not appearing on my portal page?
If you have "Streamed Events Only?" option checked in your module settings, the upcoming events block will ONLY show events that have linked Live Streams through uStream.TV, Justin.TV or Livestream.com. Uncheck this option if you don't want to require these streaming settings.

How do I change some of the text which appears in XenAtendo?
Most text is contained in phrases.ACP > Appearance > Phrases

How can I set event times that do not start exactly on the hour? (i.e. @ :00)
Modify template EWRatendo_EventsScript, replace
