很多人可能不知道Oscar其實是飛機杯盲測創辦者和導演。我非常榮幸邀請Oscar做我的博客郵件專訪。

您是在什麼情況下開始創造『飛機杯盲測』？

靈感來自日本的深夜節目，都會找男優女優進行有點好笑又有點色情的遊戲，甚至拓野哥在台灣爆紅，所以我認為台灣是非常能接納情色綜藝，於是想了飛機杯盲測這一系列。

當您製作飛機杯盲測時候有遇到什麼阻礙嗎？

一開始產業還沒發展起來，所以拍攝找人困難。

剛創辦時候，有遇到演員原本答應您的然後拒演嗎？他們有跟您說原因嗎？

當您的作品呈現給觀眾時候，您是想要表達什麼給觀眾？

赤裸！無論情色綜藝或是議題電影，我都希望把最真實的細節拍出來，不要只是含糊帶過。

您算是台灣第首位製作同志作品嗎？那時候您遇到觀眾認可，批評或辱罵嗎？

我應該不是第一個，在我還沒長大的時候就很多前輩，但同志情色綜藝我在台灣絕對是先行者，剛開始收到的辱罵比較多，但我從來沒有反駁或回嘴，專注投入創作，用作品說服觀眾認同我。

您從2018年3月5日創造『飛機杯盲測』已經6年了。有什麼意志力堅持到現在？

覺得這是一件好玩的事情，只要觀眾還願意看，那我就繼續拍下去。

那時候您創造『飛機杯盲測』的時候，有分享這消息給您的家人或朋友嗎？那時候他們有說什麼嗎？

家人沒在用網路可能比較不知情，朋友大部分都很支持，播出前也會給他們過目一下。

您有後悔創造『飛機杯盲測』嗎？有想過放棄嗎？為什麼？

沒有後悔，也沒有想過放棄，甚至希望能永永遠遠的繼續拍下去，因為這個產業靠大家努力已經做起來，希望能永遠與觀眾同在。

如果有時光機，您會創造或改造什么事情呢？

如果有時光機，我會回到國小，在重新和我爸媽相處一次，我會幫助他們和好，重新改變我們三個人的相處關係。

在6年里，哪個作品讓您非常滿意？為什麼呢？

綜藝最喜歡＜試愛旅行團＞和＜掰彎旅色＞，這是我耗費最多成本人力的實境秀，呈現效果最真實最扣人心弦，電影作品最喜歡＜毒岸＞，是我將議題和情色融合最好的一次，以上三個作品傳看度也是最高！

您認為『飛機杯盲測』帶給您什麼收穫嗎？

有改變我很多對人生的想法，我看著這些男孩付出肉體尊嚴完成作品，就會很想好好待人，覺得每個人都不容易啊，不再眼裡只有自己的苦難，變得滿會體恤他人。

台灣在10月26日剛度過同志遊行。今年主題： “邁向共融，交織共生 Embrace Inclusion”。您認為現在台灣或全球社會比較開放和包容同志嗎？

台灣真的是非常包容同志，網路上少數人罵歸罵，社會整體真的是有越來越平權，就拿電視節目來說好了，很多同志一直都可以被拿出來討論，同志演員也可以有舞台表演，這是以前不可能發生的。

您本身會期待或盼望社會對同志改變什麼嗎？

尊重彼此，團結讓台灣更好才是正道！

您認為台灣是非常好平台讓其他國家跟台灣學習慢慢接受或廢除同志法律嗎？

我希望大家都能邁向平權，同志對社會有一定的貢獻，不需要排擠追殺，每個人來到這世界上都不容易，其實念頭一轉，想想同性戀其實也真的沒什麼，如果我們連愛都不支持，那還跟自稱什麼高等文明生物？

您認為『飛機杯盲測』是一個品牌讓大家認識到台灣和改變大家對同志排斥嗎？

我沒這麼偉大，就是搏君一笑而已。

平時的您是比較文靜還是比較好動？您平時沒做作品的時候會忙些什麼？

平常休閒滿文靜的，就是在家追劇睡覺，或是出去唱歌買adidas特價。

您是什麼時候發現您喜歡男生和知道你是同志？

十五歲的時候翹家在外面打工，跟其他翹家的男生牽著手睡在一起，心跳很快！但沒想到自己是同志，後來才慢慢認識同志這樣的身分。

您是在什麼情況告訴家人您是同志？他們那時候有什麼反應和接受您？

十八歲那年我交了一個金牛座台中男友，北上的時候住我家，那時候我離家一陣子後剛被抓回來，家裡氣氛很差，所以我外出上班的時候，他怕遇家長尷尬只敢待在房間，想上廁都忍到我下班，或將就尿在寶特瓶，因此他覺得委屈，每天都跟我吵架。終於有一晚他行李收一收吵著回台中，我不准他走，但他執意提著行李衝往一樓攔計程車，我後面追著大聲咆嘯：

『ＸＸＸ，你給我站住！』

深夜如此寧靜我們就在馬路吵架，街頭巷尾一樓到五樓每間住戶都睡眼惺忪打開窗戶看熱鬧，蘆洲這個地方還是很保守的，兩個男生吵架肯定在那指指點點，我想趕快結束這場鬧劇，他執意走，我不再留，他覺得感受不被照顧，我覺得下班很累為何無理取鬧，我們沒有人想要解決問題，我們都不成熟，回到家的時候已是半夜三點，我打開門看見媽媽坐在客廳沙發，空氣安靜到秒針在走都聽得一清二楚，她開口說：

『你讓媽媽很傷心，為什麼不能交女朋友結婚生小孩？』

我聽了很氣！你跟爸爸不就是結婚生小孩，然後不快樂又離婚？憑什麼還要我走你們的路？本想一字一句頂回去，但她眼淚就流下來了，接著起身回到自己房間，沒給我開口的機會，從小到大看她都是脾氣很倔，沒看她這麼絕望過，我就是這麼被家人知道的。

有些黑粉嫉妒您，對您人生攻擊。您是怎麼面對和處理這問題？

好的意見吸收，無理的謾罵就隨他去吧，重要的是支持我和愛我的人，和他們辯解沒意義，花若盛開，蝴蝶自來。

您認為粉絲在您的身上會學到什麼嗎？為什麼？

這我倒是不知道，我又不正經脾氣也常常沒控制好，哈哈，粉絲們都比我優秀吧，我才要向他們學習。

有些東南亞粉絲家人們對同志非常排斥，不知道如何告訴他們家人們他們喜歡同志。您會有什麼建議嗎？

我對出櫃的看法一直都是，你想愛誰，不需要別人同意，如果沒把握家人會祝福，那不如別說，長輩的觀念很難改，很難保證一開口會不會家庭決裂，那不如大家都活在粉紅泡泡裡開開心心的，這也是對家人的一種愛。

您期待粉絲們在您的身上能學到什麼嗎？

我只期待他們都快快樂樂，一生平安不要遇到惡人惡事。

您有什麼鼓勵話對支持您的粉絲說嗎？

每個觀眾都是天使，沒有你們我搭這戲台也沒人看，都是一種緣份，很幸運在這幾年能和你們相遇。

[EXCLUSIVE] Interview with Stanley Nam, Manhunt Singapore 2016 Senior Finalist

Stanley Nam, 36, standing at 1.72m will be taking part in Manhunt Singapore 2016 under senior category. I am very honoured to get Stanley to be featured in my blog.

Hi Stanley, thank you for accepting my Blog interview!

Tell us more about yourself.

Thank you KentXavier for having me on this interview!

I am a Marketing and Communications Director at Nielsen, a global Market Research agency.

My interests are in travelling and learning about numerous cultures and how locals live in different countries as I believe there is so much to learn from each experience.

I volunteer at numerous charities in Singapore whenever I can as a form of giving back to the society and helping the underprivileged.

Also, I would like to think I’m a pretty good singer!

What made you join Manhunt Singapore 2016?

Manhunt Singapore serves as a good platform for me to learn on how to be a better person. The journey has been very fruitful and enriching and it has been great working with the other 29 finalists.

In addition, I believe this is a great channel to communicate a positive message about fitness, healthy living and social responsibility to the larger audience and young people.

What is your preparation for this upcoming Manhunt Singapore 2016?

I am definitely paying more attention to my diet and eating clean than before! I try to work out 4-5 times a week despite my hectic schedule.

Even jogging on the treadmill for 15-20 minutes on busy days is good enough because consistency is key. Laughter is the best medicine, so when things get a little tough, I will laugh it out over a good comedy at the movies.

Who are your strongest competitors among your senior category? Why?

Every finalist is strong in his own right but if I have to choose, I would think BenMartin and Deepak. Both gentlemen have great physiques and look good. BenMartin is humble and hardworking, while Deepak has great discipline which is awesome.

On a special note, I would like to mention Ben Gay who inspires me tremendously with the transformation he has gone through over the last months. He has improved so much on his body through sheer hard work and manages to balance his work and family time well.

What are the sacrifices you have made for Manhunt Singapore 2016?

Certainly fried foods and my favorite sweet stuffs such as ice cream and desserts! Also, I definitely hope to spend more time with my mom as much as I would wish to but my schedule is more packed nowadays. Thus, I cherish every moment I have with her whenever I have the opportunity.

Who is the most influential person in your life?

Definitely my mom. I grew up in a single-parented family and she has to work very hard and long hours to raise two active boys. There were difficult times and challenging days but never once has she despaired or gave up on us.

She has always remained positive and in spite of our situation, she made a point to help people around her regardless of how little she can give. Over the past decade, she is living with rheumatoid arthritis and last year, she had a stroke.

Despite that, she has never stopped helping people and encouraging me to do the same. Her determination and kind spirit inspired me greatly and contributed largely to what and where I am today.

Because of her, I believe that everyone can make a difference and help those in need, in your own ways. Each of us is a small piece of a bigger jigsaw puzzle and we have a responsibility to make this world a better place for all and our next generations.

Who is that one influential person you want to meet and what do you want to learn from him or her?

There are so many people that I want to meet and learn from! If I can only select one, it would undoubtedly be Mr. Lee Kuan Yew. He is Singapore’s forefather and a great leader who brought us to where we are today.

This country’s successes including our strong economy and becoming a first- world nation in less than 50 years is indisputably astonishing!

My first question would be “how did you do all that?” I would also request to learn about his thoughts on managing teething issues such as population growth and lack of sanitary water during our earlier days and also, his fitness regime and diet.

I’m sure he must have been very disciplined and was in great shape both physically and mentally to be able to accomplish so much!

What skill do you have that can help the society?

My ability to inspire and influence. Growing up from a humble childhood has taught me to cherish and appreciate life. I started working part-time at a very young age to pay for my own expenses as I didn’t want to burden my mom who didn’t earn much.

There were many ups and downs and valuable lessons which made me mature faster than my peers. Each chapter has taught me to become a stronger person.

I have also volunteered as a life coach to children. And in my current occupation, I work with many young people daily and I treasure every opportunity I get to spread a positive message to them.

What will be your contribution to mitigate global warming?

I believe the answer lies in promoting awareness about this global issue.

It is important to inform about the global warming situation adequately as I believe many could be ignorant about the current status.

Manhunt Singapore is a valuable platform to communicate a positive message such as this and I would utilize my social media platforms to share information such as the organizations people can join and updates on the activities which I’ll surely be involved in.

What do you like most about yourself?

My determination and drive to strive to be the best I can possibly be in everything I do. It is important to put your 101% once you have committed yourself to it and you will do well.

What is your favorite body part?

Many people tell me that I have a great smile. I tend to carry a smile on my face most of the time and friends would ask me why. I guess I’m generally a happy person and I am grateful and appreciative of the little things in life.

What kind of sport do you like as well?

I’m definitely into running long distance, especially at night and with my favorite DJ mixset from SoundCloud. It never fails to help me unwind the day’s stress and also clears my mind from the clutter. In addition, I love the cool wind on my skin during the run!

Do you think you can inspire people? Why?

I would hope I’m certainly that! I have accumulated quite a good amount of life experiences and my daily work requires me to work with people closely. Most importantly, I believe you have to be genuine and sincere so that people would want to listen to you.

What does being a winner mean to you?

Being a winner takes a lot of humility and openness to learn as the path to success is never easy. The journey doesn’t stop there and you need to constantly sharpen the axe and to challenge yourself to be better than yesterday.

As what my mom always say - believe in yourself, be kind to others, have ethics and always do the right things. That’s what a real winner should be.

Shaowei Aw, 23, standing at 183cm, 83kg. He is into bodybuilding and his dream is to become Personal Trainer to help those who want to get fit and healthy body. Shaowei won 1st runner-up from Junior Class F FM League Physique War 2016, Singapore competition. I am privileged to get Shaowei to be featured in my Blog.

Hi Shaowei, tell us more about yourself?

My name is Shao Wei, currently studying in Republic Polytechnic, School of Applied Science. I love what I like to do, which is working out (Hitting to the gym). Had been into sports (basketball when I was 10 years old) and bodybuilding since 18 years old. Since last year, I became more serious and passionate towards bodybuilding.

How important is nutrition to you? Will you strongly suggest your followers follow a better diet to improve their fitness goals?

I would say nutrition is very important for me, since I am now a physique competitor and gym junkie. But I will always keep a flexible diet when I am not at my competition period. To be frank, I love to eat and I cannot deny all kinds of food that will enter my mouth.

But, if you are working towards a fitness goals, keep your diet flexible, hit the amount of calories, macros you need per day with quality food. You can afford to eat cheat meal once every week only. From my personal experience, diet will reflect on your body, a lot more than you know. Especially when you are in cutting phase for competition.

For example, the complexity of your skin, the density (appearance) of your body etc. Diet plays a role and a major one.

How do you keep your fitness knowledge up to date?

Well, I could not say I am up to date. Google and YouTube will be your best friend when you want information. Bodybuilding.com forum's has a lot of knowledge from people all around the world. Both Platform has their unique ways in what informations you want.

Google- Fact from which exercise work for which body part.
YouTube- Workout plan/ Vlog of diet they eat/motivation.

Why did you decided to become Personal Trainer?

I love to share what I learnt. I love to see the knowledge being pass down. Helping people who will have the same goal with me make me feel pleased.

I was once a lost sheep in bodybuilding. Lacking of knowledge, for example, which exercise target for which muscle group, how to diet and how to bring up my physique. You wont' want to see people with the same position as you back then. It will gain confidence and network. So by helping others, it helps me too.

What are your personal fitness goals?

I do not really have a goal yet. I would rather say vision. I love fitness that it become a lifestyle routine to me. Well, I hope I can influence others in a positive way through fitness. My upcoming goal will be competing in the upcoming competition held by FM League, this September 2016.

Who inspired you to bodybuilding? How long have you been gym/bodybuilding?

I had been into bodybuilding since 15 years old. I only get more serious about it when I am 18 years old.

'The Golden Era' bodybuilders, example Arnold Schwarzenegger and Frank Zane. 'Current Era' Ronnie Coleman and Flex Wheeler amazing physique strikes and inspires and motivates me.

It is amazing how much you can change your body in terms of physique and appearance.

What are your favourite machines for cardiovascular exercises?

Personally I love Stairmaster Stepmill and rowing machines elliptical.

In which/what way that you think you can inspire/motivate others who want to gym?

Social media is the big thing now. Sharing what I know on social media is an easy way to reach out to people who wants to get inspired by you.

Making motivation videos, workout videos, post on social media that helps other to get inspired. Or friendly meetup gym session to share more of myself to others.

Recently, you just took part in bodybuilding competition. What makes you to take part in such competition?

Well, I had been training for many years and people did ask me if I interested to join such competitions? Back then, I am not really interested and it is not something that I want.

Recently, I met a group of friends who has the same goals and interest as me. And they really motivates me to compete with them in the same competition. So why not give myself a chance and see where I stand with my current physique. At the same time, I can get a chance to feel the stage.

What had you gain from bodybuilding competition?

Social network grew, more opportunities out there. People sharing on what are my strength and flaws that I can improve on. Bringing people or strangers from the same fitness field and making more friends.

Is there any tips that you would like to share with your followers on their health and fitness?

Well working out is essential, same goes to a diet. A moderate/ flexible on. Working out not only gains strength and endurance, but also boost your metabolism and helps in your skin complexity. You will look fresher and more confident.

I am very honoured to get exclusive interview with Benny Tan, who will be taking part in this year Cleo's Most Eligible Bachelor (EB) 2016.

Hi Benny! Thank you for accepting my exclusive interview with you. First thing first, could you tell us more about yourself? I am sure many of my readers would like to know you better as well!

I am Benny, currently in my final semester in NTU doing Engineering. During my past time, I enjoy working out and reading.

My favourite sports usually involves water! From Swimming to Canoeing to Dragon boat. If I am not on the water, I will be probably at home chilling with my Kindle. I don't have much night lifestyle as I live it pretty simple. J

I heard that you are taking part in this year Cleo's Most Eligible Bachelor 2016. Now, tell us what makes you interested in joining this Cleo's EB and who actually nominated you to Cleo EB?

I got a few friends who participated in last seasons of Cleo's EB. One of them was my army buddy and other one was a teammate of mine.

They nominated me to give it a try. From what I heard, they enjoyed themselves and they shared their exciting stories like what they did and who they met. It got me interested and I decided to go for the interview!

Are you quite surprised that you made it to the Final of the Most Eligible Bachelors 2016?

HAHA pretty much!

Partially because I am just an undergrad, the other EBs are pretty established in their respective fields. Just going in to enjoy and make new friends. J

During the Final of Cleo’s EB 2016, what can we expected from you?

This I cant share! Gotta RSVP to the finals party to see some exciting stuff! Haha! J

Cool! Readers, you should know what to do during Cleo's EB final which will be held at Zouk!

Understand that you are into Water sports like canoeing, and dragon boat. Did the girls purposely come over to watch you or your team while you guys training? What is your reaction?

Eh, haha the only girls I ever see training with us are my teammates. Never noticed other girls coming down watch us train. Probably we train at 7 plus in the morning! They might be having their beauty sleep! HAHA!

I am sure that your training for water sports are quite tough and tedious. Can you share with us what is your training consist of?

Mostly involves being on the water. When I was still with the team, we train at least 4 to 5 times a week plus additional 3 to 4 times in the evening. Usually in the evening, can be sprints, static or gym work. Depending on the season we are in.

Do you need to be good swimmer in order to join those water sport games? How would you advice those who are into water sport enthusiast?

HAHA! Preferably year. Because you gotta to be water confident. But I came in not knowing how to swim. Pretty scared I might drown. But thankfully, my army bros got me through my fear of water and now I can swim.

Knowing how to swim in a way allows you to relax. Even when you capsized you will not fear of getting back into the boat and try again. If through many experimentation and failures, then you will get better at what you do.

Do you think that you can motivate and inspire the youth and able to change their perspective in life?

Motivate the youth? Maybe through sports? It really trains you to be discipline with yourself. From diet and not cheating yourself during training.

Hope others can experience what I have gone through and observe the amount of change to what I have achieve today.

Are you interested to join Entertainment industry in the near future if there is any opportunity for you?

Entertainment? Neh… I am pretty stiff in front of the camera. If there is anyone wants to coach me, TELL ME!

Is there anything, which you would like to tell your supporters out there?

[EXCLUSIVE] Interview with Shaun Toh, Manhunt Singapore 2015 Finalist

Manhunt Singapore 2015 Finals will be held at Hotel Jen Orchardgateway on 5 December 2015 and many of you had visited to the various roadshow to support and cheer them on.

I am very honoured to get an exclusive interview with Shaun Toh, Junior Finalist of Manhunt Singapore 2015 to be featured in my blog.

Hi Shaun tell us more about yourself.

Hi I'm Shaun. An interesting fact about myself is that I have a younger brother who is 10 years younger than me, and I spend most of my free time playing video console games with him.

What makes you to join Manhunt Singapore 2015?

Jonathan Sung scouted me. Initially I didn't want to go for it because I felt like I was quite out of shape.

But then, one of my close friend, Dennis who is also a manhunt finalist asked me to give it a shot for the auditions, and here we are!

What have you learnt from this Manhunt Singapore 2015?

I've learnt to better myself, mainly with my confidence. Manhunt Singapore gave me the opportunity to speak in front of a crowd, which helped me a lot with my public speaking considering I have stage fright.

What is your preparation for the final Manhunt Singapore 2015?

Basically to prepare my physique for the competition, I am going on a high protein and low carbs diet. Also, I have to increase the frequency and intensity of my workouts.

I will hit the gym 4-5 times a week. I will start my workout with weighted training for the larger muscles groups for about an hour, followed by a 15 minutes with High Intensity Interval Training for my cardio.

As Manhunt Singapore 2015 is not a competition based solely on your physical appearance, I believe it is also about how one carries himself. Your charisma, how you present yourself are as important.

So what I did to prepare myself in this aspect was to build up my self-confidence and improve on my public speaking skills. I did this by practicing what I have to say on stage in front of the mirror.

You are once a National Rower who represented Singapore in Numerous rower competitions, was there any epic moment, which you cannot forget?

It was a race between Thailand's team in the Men’s Lightweight Double Scull with my partner for the bronze medal to qualify for SEA GAMES 2012.

We were going head to head against the Thai rowers at the last 100m. By then, I was already extremely exhausted and I felt my body shutting down due to heat exhaustion and fatigue. I closed my eyes and pulled my last few strokes as hard as I could.

And when we crossed the finishing line, I heard my partner screaming, it was then I realized we beat the Thai rowers and qualified for the SEA GAMES 2012!

It was an unforgettable experience, I was so happy! Till now I can still remember vividly the whole occurrence of the event.

How do you able to cope with your studies and while represent Singapore for Overseas competitions?

It was really tough to juggle my sporting career and my studies all together. Time management is extremely important; I really had to make sure I have a balanced life.

During your service in Police Force, you and your team managed to detect and intercepted a speedboat carrying 36 illegal immigrants trying to enter Singapore's water and apprehended them.

Tell us what was the most dangerous part when you and your team tried to apprehend them?

As a police, you have to expect the unexpected. During my whole experience with the arrest case, we have to keep our guards up all the time when we are dealing with them.

This is because you will never know when they will retaliate against you. One of them pretended to faint, and when we were not paying attention, he tried to jump off the boat into the sea.

Do you think that you can motivate and inspire the youth and able to change their perspective in life?

Yes I believe Manhunt Singapore stands for a greater purpose, it serves as a platform to inspire others.

And us contestants, we are role models to people who are suffering with self-confidence or weigh issues.

We give them the hope that they too can be like us someday, with the positive mindset and determination, anything can be made possible.

None of us was born fit and confident, all of us had to slowly build our way up.

Who is your most importance person in your life and why?

My mum! She is the one who brought me into this world, without her, I will not even exist.

Also I have to thank my girlfriend, who is constantly a huge pillar of support and an inspiration to me.

Would you believe if I said I owe my abs to her? I hate doing abs exercises; she is the one who constantly push me to do it. Can you do a 4 minutes plank exercise? She can!

If someone approach you to be celebrity in their Entertainment industry, do you think you will accept this offer and why?

Given the opportunity, I will. One of my dream jobs when I was a kid was to become an actor. It will be interesting to give it a shot!

Is there anything, which you would like to tell your supporters out there?

Thank you all for your kind support. I give it my all for this pageant, to be the best of what I can be. Hope I don't disappoint you guys :)

When I first met Shaun and his girlfriend, Adora at Orchard for photoshoot, both of them are quite fun and lovely people that I ever met! I could see that Shaun enjoyed his every single moment with his girlfriend.

We wanted to shoot at Haji Lane but due to downpour, we had to change the location but we still managed to shoot lovely photographs. Both of them are patient and friendly towards me during our photoshoot session as I am quite introverted at times.

Despite Shaun fall sick during our photoshoot, he still managed to follow the instruction that I wanted him to pose. I really admired his professionalism and he did not shown his sick expression or attitude towards me.

I really enjoyed working with Shaun and Adora! Thank you for giving me such a good opportunity to meet up and work with both of you!

[EXCLUSIVE] Interview with Sylvester Goh, Manhunt Singapore 2015 Finalist

Manhunt Singapore 2015 Finals will be held at Hotel Jen Orchardgateway on 5 December 2015, while Pre-Judging will be on 8th November at Wavehouse Sentosa.

I am very honoured to get an exclusive interview with Sylvester Goh, Junior Finalist of Manhunt Singapore 2015 to be featured in my blog.

Hi Sylvester, tell us more about yourself.

I’m currently doing Freelance Modelling and Personal Training.

My hobbies include Street Workout/ Advanced Calisthenics, Gymming, Cafe hopping/ Food photography, Dance (Hip Hop), Martial Arts (MMA) and Sports.

What made you join Manhunt Singapore 2015?

Manhunt is not just about the looks, the body, or personality. In order to win or do fairly well, it requires a complete package. I wanted to step out to challenge myself to join something with which I am unfamiliar.  

More importantly, I hope to inspire and motivate people to do the same, be it in terms of fitness or exploring other areas of life.

What is your preparation for this upcoming Manhunt Singapore 2015?

Well it’s pretty much the same for me in terms of gym routine, except hitting my abs and legs more cause I’m usually quite lazy to train them especially the abs.  

Also, I’ve started with a much stricter diet like grilled chicken breast, baked potatoes, sweet potatoes, salad, to see if I can improve on my physique with this now in place.

Are your family members supportive of you joining the Manhunt Singapore 2015? Why?

Yes they are! I even have my own meals catered and pack meals for myself daily. They are accommodating to my gym times and meal preferences as well.

I guess that’s what families do?  Being supportive no matter what job or task I do, as long I enjoy doing it? Being in the finals is not easy, and I hope I can do them proud.  

But also, my mum is worried that I may attract the wrong crowd due to the new attention. But I tell her I know what I’m doing and I’m old enough to know what’s right.

Do you think that you have inspired people? In what way do you think that you can inspire others?

Honestly speaking, I didn’t know I was inspiring people until they dropped me comments/ direct message on Facebook.

If you’ve seen my Facebook cover photo, you will realize that I was really scrawny and skinny back then. It goes to show that with proper determination, perseverance, consistency and knowledge, you can achieve more than what you set out to be.  

Also, I want the people out there to know that in life you don’t get what you always want. Failure is a part of life too. If you don’t fail, you don’t learn. If you don’t learn, you’ll never change. It’s okay to fail. The only way to avoid failure is to not try anything. Don’t be afraid to fail. That’s how you succeed.  

Besides, the only failure is if you stop trying. But that doesn’t mean to give up, you’ve got to fight for what you want. In the end, it’s not always about the results, but the process. The process is what makes us grow and learn, the results are but a bonus to us. 

Never look down on anybody, but instead, help anybody who needs your help or any sort of help, and sometimes, people will help you back too.

For someone who does not have any experience in gym or working out out, what is your advice to them?

My advice would be just to begin somewhere. It can be anywhere. The most difficult part is in starting, getting the motor kickstarting, before maintaining it and followed by bringing it to greater heights. If it’s possible gow with a friend who is experienced so that he can guide you along for better results.  

Never ever be an ego lifter. Use the correct range of motion, if possible get a friend to see if you’re performing the exercise correctly. Ask people for advice, it never hurts to ask, and always share back the knowledge.

I started out just gymming by myself all the way up till now.  The knowledge I’ve learnt was through experience and reading up from the internet over the past 5 years.

I understand that you are into street workout, tell us what’s the difference between street workout and a regular gym workout?

Well, street workout in ghetto terms would be just to workout in the streets. In Singapore’s context, it would be in fitness corners.  I incorporate bodyweight exercises at the fitness corners, and make use of them to help build a well sculpted body as well.

I definitely sweat a whole lot more outdoors, and it feels great to be doing so.  I am also in the process of learning advanced calisthenics moves like the muscle ups, front lever, back lever, planche, handstands which require a lot of basic fundamental strength through the street workout that I do.

You are into café hopping as well, can you share with us how to post such a great photos in social media so that it can benefit us and our followers?

Many people think that taking a photo of food is easy. Relatively speaking, it is. But what makes yours different from the rest is the creativeness you’ve put into the shot. It might be any sort of shot, be it flatlay, minimal etc. It has got to be your style.  

If you’re looking for inspiration, search up Instagram on the hashtag styles and learn how people do it, then add in your style to finish it.

It takes time and effort into editing the photos as well. So, be prepared to have a new hobby!

I guess many readers would like to find out this from you! Are you Single or Attached?

Surprising to many, I am Single. I guess I don’t have that much female friends around?

But also, I have more freedom and time to myself.  Nevertheless, it does not mean I’m not yearning for my second half to make the first move?  

I feel that women with the courage to go and make the first move is kinda sexy.

If you have the opportunity to be a celebrity in the Entertainment industry, would you be interested?

I wouldn’t turn down an opportunity which I think seems fun and challenging.  I have tried out acting before, and even though it’s tiring, when everything is pieced together, it looks awesome.  

The entertainment industry also seems to be rather interesting with a wide array of roles/ scenes and storylines, which is something I like as well.

What makes you special/ unique?

I tend to do things differently, and believe I can make the best out of any situation I’m given, and that I am able to adapt under different circumstances.

Also, I learnt that you'll never be happy if you chase money all your life. I find real joy through giving and serving others.

Doing humanitarian/social acts are something I plan to do in the future.

When I met Sylvester at Orchard, he was a friendly and polite guy. During our conversations, I found out that he's a rather nice guy to chat up with although he was quite shy in the beginning and I got to find some topics to break the ice.

He does not display any sort of arrogant expression towards me despite his tight schedule to follow. He is someone whom you can share your problem with if you need listening ears.

The Japanese Cemetery Park

Do you know that there is a Japanese Cemetery Park in Singapore which located at 825B Chuan Hoe Ave, Singapore 549853 (Yio Chu Kang Road)?

Although Singapore government gazetted as a memorial park in 1987. Many of you may not heard about it or aware that we do have Japanese Cemetery Park.

The Japanese Cemetery Park which known as 日本人墓地公園 was official granted permission for this cemetery use on 26 June 1891 by The British Colonial Government. Till today, it is the largest and best-preserved Japanese Cemetery in Southeast Asia.

The site measures 30,000 square metres and has an estimated of 910 tombstones that contain the remains of members of Japanese community in Singapore. It's also including 唐行きさん (Karayuki-san aka Japanese prostitutes), civilians, soldiers and convicted war criminals.

When I visited on Sunday, The Japanese Cemetery Park are quiet and peaceful. As usual, I take out my camera and randomly shoot the scenery over here. It is so interesting that in Singapore, I could able to see The Japanese Shrine and the Buddhist sculpture as it is very rare here.

I also got to know that the first Japanese person to settle in Singapore was 山本音吉 (Yamamoto Otokichi), who arrived in 1862.

When I walked in further, I was rather sad for Karayuki-san who dead here during the end of the Meiji Era around 1870's to 1930's. Those poor Japanese young women were sold off for Prostitution in East Asia and South East Asia by their own family. Each of the tombstones tell a story of their past which everyone forgotten Japanese prostitution era before the World War II occurred.

Some of the well known Japanese also buried here. Those people are prominent author Takeshiro Nishimura, who lived in Singapore from 1902 until his death in 1942.

Yoshio Nishimura, the managing director of Ishihara Sangyo Koshi, an iron ore mining company in Malaya. He was a president of the Japanese Association.

During the Japanese occupation of Singapore from 1942-1945, It was the worst nightmare for everyone who lived in horror and terrified that the Japanese soldiers would captured and killed them. Despite that, the Japanese soldiers also got killed during the war.

The Japanese soldiers buried their own ally bodies and construction of memorials in the cemetery. Many of the important key appointment tombstones can be found here as well. It is good that the Japanese Cemetery Park are well preserved.

Although it could be a painful experience for our pioneers to remember, but we should let our young generation to know The Japanese Cemetery Park as it is somehow connected to part of the Singapore history.

I got to know Jaze Phua through my secondary school alumni Facebook Page. He was my school junior. We had a awesome time to collaborate together for this photoshoot. He's friendly and a nice guy to work with.

Jaze produced his own YouTube short film and won many awards like The RULE BREAKERS and The Cabbage.

The Loft Cafe

In Chinatown, there are many heritage colony buildings which is currently preserved by the government which makes Singapore's Chinatown very unique.

While you sightseeing in Singapore's Chinatown, you are curious and amazed that our Chinatown is slightly different from countries.

In Chinatown, you can find many races Place of Worship. You can find Chinese Temple, Malay Mosque, Indian Temple and Church within the same district which was planned by the British Colony era.

You also can get to taste difference cultural food in our local food centre and get to know the culture here and how we can live racial harmony.

While I sightseeing in Chinatown, I saw a bright Red Building located at Smith Street, which attracts to me. So, I decided to visit to the Red Building and I saw The Loft Cafe, therefore I decided to pay a visit since I am kinda hungry and thirsty.

At the same time, it makes me thought of a similar cafe, 'ROOST JUICE + BAR' which I visited in Johor Bahru, Malaysia which is located in the 1F (You can click here to read Cafe Hopping in West Malaysia).

When I stepped into the Loft Cafe, I was greeted by very retro white door and I need climb the steep staircase as this is a heritage building. Once I reached the 1F, I was greeted by the friendly staff and I decided to sit near to the window as I can see the outside world while relaxing myself.

I simply loved this cafe as it gives me a homely and cosy atmosphere. Just that it can be slightly too warm as they did not fully turn on all their air-conditional, if you sit away from the air-conditional. I guess the management would want to save the environment for not turning on all the air-conditional when there are less crowds.

I was served by special employee who is very patient and friendly to me. After that, he served me a cup of ice water. I also observed that this special employee served each of their customer with pride.

Although they could be slow sometime, but I am delighted that the cafe management hired The Abilities of Special Needs employees and give them a chance to work and gain experience.

Where the management are making a movement towards a more inclusive society in Singapore, opening our eyes to the special needs people around us and also give us a chance to talk to them and improve their confident.

After awhile, this special employee served my food and followed by my drink which I had ordered. I loved their Rosemary chicken and their mashed potato! It was simply awesome! Their Cookie and Cream milkshake so yummy~

After that my dessert was served. The Loft Cafe famous for their delicious and crispy waffler. But on that day, the waffler (Nutty Banana waffler) that I tried are not that crispy and rather it was cold for the moment that I bite.

Perhaps, they should put slightly longer so that the waffler can be more crispy and it will be warm instead of cold waffler. For the fruit, it was fresh and juicy.

For the bread (Shibuya Toast), it tasted good with the raspberry and the ice cream. I loved the sour of the raspberry~ As most Singaporean will used this word, SHOICK!

Overall, The Loft Cafe is a great cafe where you can chill out with your friends and families but at times, it can be slightly expensive if you visit to this cafe often. It will be good if they can create loyalty membership to their regular customer.

This cafe also equip with FREE WIFI where you can surf net or do your business presentation. The cafe also allowed you to book for your event/function in their 2F.

[EXCLUSIVE] TBJ 'Pretty Boy', Road to Glory Contestant

Tan Bao Ji (TBJ) aka Pretty Boy, 25, Standing at 190cm, 72kg. He will be represent Legends Fight Sport to fight for 'Road to Glory' Boxing Match held at Woodlands Sport Hall on 29 November 2014, Saturday at 1300 hours.

This will be TBJ inaugural boxing match and I am very honour to have him to share his inside story and his preparation for this important match! Many people might have thought that Boxing is a dangerous sport to play with and why do they picked up such sport and are so passionate in this Boxing?

But after you read up the following interview which I done with TBJ, you might need to change your mindset and reconsider to pick up this sport as your hobby!

Below are the interview which took place at the Legends Fight Sport located at pre-war shop houses near to Clarke Quay MRT Station. I also got the opportunity to see his training as well!

X: Hello Bao Ji, thank you for accepting this interview with you and at the same time I got this opportunity to see your training with your team mate!

So, tell us more about yourself so that the reader will get to know you better!

B: Hello! I am Bao Ji aka TBJ or Pretty Boy! I am Virgo, I am tall and have a long arms~ I love to eat chicken wings! =)

X: Who Introduce Boxing to you and did anyone inspire you in taking up this sport?

B: Hmm.. No one ever introduced it to me. I'd seen a lot of boxing clips from YouTube, which makes me to be so interested and so I took up this sport by myself!

It makes me felt more victorious while boxing! Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, Floyd Mayweather and Roy Jones Jr inspired me the most!

X: How long have you been playing this sport?

B: I have been playing this sport since 2012. But unfortunately, I'd stop in 2013 for a year due to personal affairs and this year, I picking up this sport again and will be compete in local boxing competition!

X: Do you think you can inspire people? Why?

B: I guess.. I can inspire others! I think that Boxing and life is the same as we gotta put hard work and dedication for both of them. As we need to put extra effort in working hard in boxing to win the race. That goes to life, where we put extra effort in working hard in order to succeed.

I dislike every single minute of training but, I said to myself using my favourite boxer, Muhammad Ali Quote, 'Do not quit! Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a Champion'! Which encourages me to carry on..

X: How do you know about Legends Fight Sport?

B: I knew Legends Fight Sport through Ridhwan Ahmad, who is a Head Coach and a represent Singapore in South East Asian Game (SEAGAME) and won a numerous of Medalist! He makes Singapore very proud!

We actually trained together in previous club two years ago (2012) and he started his own club, 'Legends Fight Sport' this year (2014). So I decided to support him by joining his club and resumed my training again.

X: What makes you to join Road to Glory Boxing Match?

B: I have been taking up this boxing for the past two years and I always thought of joining the fighting team to perform on stage to know my strength and weakness but somehow I had some setback then.

So right now, Legends Fight Sport organise a local (Singapore) Boxing competition where it can create public awareness and to promote our local boxing scene.

At the same time, it also enable our Singapore Team to prepare for next year SEA Games 2015 which will be held in our home country, Singapore too!

My team mates and my loved one give me morale support and encourage me to take part in Road to Glory Boxing Match which will be held at Woodlands Sport hall on 29 November 2014! At the same time, I wanted to showcase my skills and it gonna to be a fun experience for me on that day!

X: How is your preparation for this upcoming Boxing Match?

B: So far so good.. I've been training twice a week and every off days I have to prepare for my upcoming Boxing Match. I also did some sparring with my Legends member to prepare for my match as well.

X: Do you think that you can win this match easily due to advantage of your height?

B: I think I can! But still, I cannot overlook my opponent! I will just outbox him!!

X: I am wonder do you have your weakness point? Do you wish to share with us?

B: Well, I cannot say what is my weakness point!! Ha Ha.. He gotta find out himself on the fight day!

X: I am sure many girls out there would like to know!! Are you Single or attached?

B: Attached! :)

X: What makes you to be so special or unique?

B: Tall? Handsome? Or pretty boy? haha.

X: Many people think that Boxing is an extreme and dangerous sport to play with.   What do you think of this statement and why?

B: It is dangerous because it's a contact sport. You’ll get hit in the face real hard or to the body. There will be some permanent damage to the body if you’re not gonna take good care of it.

There’s a saying..

You can play basketball , you can play soccer or you can play football, but why can't you play boxing?

X: Do you think that the ladies can take up this sport as well?

B: Of course ladies can take up boxing! Its fun to pick up this sport and they will enjoy this good experience and at the same time, they can defend themselves!

X: Any encouragement words to those who would want to take up this boxing?

B: Dont be afraid to step up.. Just come and have fun and keep fit, who knows you may fall in love with boxing? :)

X: Do you have any words to your supporters?

B: I’ll give a good match for them. Thank you for all your support! :)

You might be thinking what is 'The Purple Parade 2014'? What is so special about The Purple Parade? I am sure that many of you are not aware of The Purple Parade which was first started last year in 2013.

The Purple Parade is a movement that supports the inclusion & celebrates the abilities of persons with special needs.We are making a movement towards a more inclusive society, opening our eyes to the special needs people around us.

The shape of The Purple Parade logo is a square, which represents equality. The square depicts the inclusiveness of any given society with special needs people.

The Square also symbolises strong building blocks, on which when placed together, creates limitless structures. 「Quoted from The Purple Parade Website」

Members of the Public, Members of Parliament (MP), Local Celebrities and the sponsors came over here by wearing Purple just to show support to the abilities of persons with special needs.

Members of the Public get the chance to watch the performance by the special students or by the various association members. Not only that, the public can purchased handmade items which was done by the abilities of person with special needs.

They also held a mini parade with various special schools, various association and the sponsor to walk down towards to the audience.

If you are hungry or thirsty, you can purchased the delicious foods and drinks by the sponsored brands.

In the bustling city of Singapore, we can still able to find many plenty of activities to do, a place to chill out or sights to see if we do spare sometime to rediscover our own city of Singapore.

In the tourist attraction of Chinatown, there's one very unique cafe which located in the prewar colony shop houses which makes this place more lively.

This unique cafe known as 'The company of Cats'. Yes! Cats! For those cat lovers, you will be thrilled that you have one new favourite hangout to play with cats, relax your hectic life or enjoy a cup of coffee or tea with 8 lovely and lively cats!

The Company of Cats located at 6B Mosque Street (2F shophouse). If you are not familiar with Chinatown district, it may take a while to locate them. If you are taking public transport, alight at Chinatown MRT Station (NE4/DT19) and head to Chinatown Point at Exit E.

After that walk outside the Chinatown Point and cross the road towards to Hotel81 Chinatown. (Please use the traffic light). After that walk towards to 美珍香 Bee Cheng Hiang (Barbecued Meat) you can easily spotted by seeing their shop billboard and turn left.

A) No Rough Handling. Please do not carry the cats. If they get on your lap themselves, that's OK!
B) Do not wake a sleeping cat. Taking photos is OK!
C) No Flash Photography.
D) Please do not feed the cats any human food or drinks.
E) Please do not shout or run around loudly.
F) Children must be at least 7 years old and supervised by an adult at all times.Please do not bring your own pets.
G) The Company of Cats reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who does not follow these rules. Cat abusers will be reported to the police.

3) Once you agreed, the staff will bring you to the cat room with your tag which you will be going to make a payment later on.

4) If any of the time, you decide to leave, show your tag to the staff and they will calculate the cost that you stay in the Cat room.

After that, the staff will award you with their loyalty card if you are first timer. Every SGD$10.00 that you spend with them, you will be entitled to one stamp. Collect 5 stamps to redeem one free coffee or tea, 10 stamps to redeem one free lava cake and 15 stamps to redeem free entrance for one hour.

The payment will be by CASH or NETS only. The Company of Cats do not have Service Charge and GST. So whatever you are paying for are NETT only.

Alright, it is time for you to relax yourself with the cats~ You can roam freely and enjoy the great company from the 8 cats.

When I visited around 1600 hours, most of the cats are fallen asleep. And the music that the owner of The Company Cats played are extremely smooth and relaxing. Although the premises are so big but yet very cosy living!

Basically all the cats are so lovely and cute! Each of every individually cat has its own personality and characteristic. Even through I do not own a cat of my own, the pose that the cats reflected to me makes me feel so warm and happy! I am sure you will agree with me that cats are so adorable which you could not resistant but to love them!

Especially during their dinner time around 1700 hours, it seem like all the cats are all awake and waiting for the staff to feed them! Some cats are so patiently waiting for their food to be arrived and some cats act so emotional. Which makes me reminded of 'Puss in Boots' in The Shrek Movie.

In a quiet town of Taman Mount Austin, Johor Bahru, my colleagues and I paid a visit to Mini Kuso Trick Art Museum which is very popular to the local living around here.

Their Mini Kuso Trick Art Museum is similar to our Singapore version of Alive Museum (Suntec City) and Trick Eyes Museum (Resorts World Sentosa) but with a smaller scale. This is the first Trick Art Museum in Johor State!

When we reached the destination, we thought that we had went to wrong place as we based on Goggle Map to bring us to Kuso Trick Art Museum. Luckily, my colleague had a sharp eyes to spot the small billboard which was hung below the pillar.

We are so amazed that the 3D Trick Art Museum can located in such a deserted place out of nowhere. We also thought that this place only sell Home Deco products and not 3D Trick Art Museum.

In the end, the friendly staff open the glass doors and welcome us and told us that the Kuso Trick Art Museum located in 1F (Singapore's 2F). When we climbed up the staircase, the rude girl keep on pressured us to buy tickets in Mandarin, while the adult are trying to introduce their Kuso Trick Art Museum to us and told us if we like it, we can buy the ticket and have fun with their art piece.

We are still considered if we should visit it, but since we had travelled so far, we decided to pay the entrance fee. When I am about to pay the entrance fee, I was served by rude girl again and told me to wait as she was busy. So, we waited for awhile to let her finished her stuff before she could 'served' and issued us 5 tickets. She was like testing our patient and endurance! Perhaps, she is still young.

After getting our admission tickets, we enter to their first 3D wall painting which are very popular to visitor, Angel Wing.

Next zone, we visited to Reverse Room where everything is upside down. We stayed this zone for quite sometime as we tried many ways to have this photo shoot to be taken!

We visited to the horror zone and since Halloween is coming, we decided to take some horror photographs which indeed look like real!

The effect which turned out kinda scary and looked like we are being murdered by unknown killer out there!

Do you wonder how the picture come alive from the photo frame? Kuso show you how to make your photo frame look alive and interesting! This is the only zone which I liked most. Especially with their starry backdrop which makes it to be so 3D.

To make it even more 3D effect, the visitors could take their placard which can be found around the zone area. Some of the funny placard wordings can be found like Emo, You Jump, I Jump, Alamak and many more for you to play with.

Trust me, you gotta like this zone! As it makes you feel so lively and energetic especially you are going with a group of families or friends!

Inside the Mini Kuso Trick Area museum, you can find many interesting Tricks arts masterpiece for you to pose and play with! And some of the photographs effect turn out quite well!!

As this is a Mini Kuso Trick Art Museum, it could be crowded most of the time especially on weekends (Friday and Saturday <Applies to Johor State only>), school holiday and public holiday.

Somehow, I am not sure if their staff are too friendly that we could felt so pressured in posing the 3D art pieces as they kept telling us what to do. It seem like we do not have the freedom in deciding the way that we are comfortable in posing. Especially the girl which kept scolding us that we posed wrongly. It could scare the visitors away!

But overall it was a great experience to play with my colleagues! They should expand their premises to cater more visitors and they could even install more 3D art pieces. It will be great if they could make Mini Kuso Trick Art logo more visible to the public so that they could find their way here.

The Admission to the Mini Kuso Trick Art and the operational hours as follows:

Normal Entry- RM20 (Apox SGD$7.80)
Senior Citizen- RM15 (60 Years old and above) (Apox SGD$5.80)
Children FREE if they are below 110cm. If your kid are above 110cm, they have to pay Normal Entry Ticket.

The Opening of 100 Doraemon Secret Gadgets Expo Johor Bahru

Yesterday was the launch of 100 Doraemon Secret Gadgets Expo in Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia. Many Doraemon fans from different parts of Malaysia and even Singapore traveled to City Square, Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia to catch the robot cat from the future!

My aunt and I decided to cross border to the causeway just to visit to the 100 Doraemon Secret Gadgets Expo. I was excited to visit to the expo although I had visited Doreamon expo in year 2013 which was held at Malaysia Capital, Kuala Lumpur.

Although we left home quite early to travel to Johor Bahru but the Immigration checkpoint in Singapore are quite packed and the bus lanes queues caused confusion as the crowds crawling to bound to Malaysia Immigration checkpoint.

It took us about 40 minutes in queuing just to wait for bus to bring us to Malaysia Immigration checkpoint. Once we reached the Malaysia Immigration checkpoint, we had our passport scanned and we proceeded to City Square (about 17 minutes walk).

Soon, we reached City Square and we head over to ground floor and enter to the expo. Somehow I felt that Johor Bahru Stop kinda squeezing perhaps due to constrain of space as it held at the shopping mall compared to Kuala Lumpur which was held at the exhibition hall.

Doraemon display is the same just that the layout in the Johor Bahru Stop are slightly differences compared with the Kuala Lumpur Stop. At Johor Bahru, they added the grass patch which makes it to be more lively due to the lighting and the space as it held at the shopping mall.

Johor Bahru will be the last stop to be held in Malaysia. Head over to the souvenir stall and get the exclusive products which only can be sold here!

Pre-Opening of 100 Doraemon Secret Gadgets Expo Johor Bahru (Malaysia)

Tomorrow will be the opening of 100 Doraemon Secret Gadgets Expo in City Square, Johor Bahru, Malaysia! As a avid fan of Doraemon, I am looking forward to the opening and visit to the 100 Doraemon Secret Gadgets Expo! Although I had visited to the expo when it held last year 2013 in Kuala Lumpur.

Furthermore, the organiser decided to held it again in Johor Bahru which is closer to Singapore! It can benefit the fans from Malaysia and Singapore. If you have been following Doraemon Malaysia Facebook Page for their latest update, you should be aware that you can get the ticket in advance with 10% discount before the opening.

My aunt and I decided to visit to City Square, Johor Bahru in the evening to get the advance ticket and at the same time, I also took photographs of their layout so that I could share it with all of you.

In this article, You will be able to know where you can find the ticket booth and the entrance to the 100 Doraemon Secret Gadgets Expo or any important details which you need to take note before heading down to Johor Bahru or coming back to Singapore via Johor- Singapore Causeway.

Please make sure that your passport valid for at least SIX (6) Months before expiry.

If you intend to visit to Johor Bahru, please try to avoid going in during Friday Evening and Saturday as it will be congested with human jam.

I am sure you do not want to waste your time in queuing and waiting for buses to enter to Johor Bahru via Woodlands immigration checkpoint!

If you intend to come back/visit to Singapore, try to avoid going in on Sunday Evening.

City Square

My aunt and I walked towards to City Square from CIQ (Estimate 15-20 Minutes walk). When we are about to reach City Square, we saw the staff labelling the Doraemon direction stickers on the pathway so that the visitors can able to find their way to 100 Doraemon Secret Gadgets exhibition.

We also saw the staff busied displayed the Doraemon products which will be on sales tomorrow and also had a final check and making sure that everything goes smoothly for the opening of 100 Doraemon Secret Gadgets exhibition.

If you would like to visit to 100 Doraemon Secret Gadgets Expo, you are required to get a ticket from the ticketing booth which is located beside McDonald's, Ground Floor.

The Adult ticket selling at RM25 while Children aged 12 and below selling at RM15. Free entry for Children below 90cm. For Senior Citizen, you just need to present your MYKAD (applies to Tourists too!) and you will be entitled to enter for Free!

Fans of Doreamon, this is a good news to you! Animation International (M) Sdn Bhd Official decided to relaunch 100 Doraemon Secret Gadgets Expo in City Square, Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia!

Previously, 100 Doraemon Secret Gadgets Expo was held last year, 2013 at Viva Home Expo Hall, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It was a great success and everyone flock to Viva Home Expo to catch the glory of Doraemon which included me! My friends and I travelled to Kuala Lumpur by plane just to visit the 100 Doraemon Secret Gadgets Expo!

Due to popular demand, many fans who could not travel to Kuala Lumpur requested Animation International to held in Southern Part of Malaysia or even Singapore.

The organiser decided to choose City Square, Johor Bahru as the venue to relaunch 100 Doraemon Secret Gadgets Expo because not only they can benefit the Malaysian fans whom reside in the southern part of Malaysia, the expo can also reach out to Singaporeans or those who work in Singapore which is just across the country border via bridge.

The ticket will be selling at RM25 for Adult and RM15 for Child. Free entry for Senior Citizen 60 years and above while children below 90cm. It will be held daily from 30 August 2014 to 4 January 2015. The operating hours will be from 1000 hours to 2200 hours.

去年，國際影業有限公司在馬來西亞首都吉隆坡舉辦哆啦A夢誕生前100 年特展覽。很多喜歡哆啦A夢的粉絲們都一窩峰跑去吉隆坡參觀。那些哆啦A夢的粉絲們不能去吉隆坡都希望主辦當局能在新山或新加坡舉辦。

終於，國際影業有限公司會在柔佛州新山的City Square舉辦此特展！當局選擇在新山的City Square舉辦，因為新山靠近邊檢的新加坡。那些在新加坡居住的遊子們或新加坡人都可以去新山參觀哆啦A夢誕生前100 年特展覽。第二，柔佛州是全西馬最多人民的州府。他們的粉絲也是超多的。

去年，我和幾位朋友到吉隆坡參觀了哆啦A夢誕生前100 年特展覽。今年，我也會到新山的City Square參觀此特展。我會和你們分享我在新山所看到的和他們有什麼變換的。

Singapore Night Festival 2014

The Annual Singapore Night Festival is back again! It attracted many visitors from around the world and the local here since it first launched in year 2008.

This year Singapore Night Festival 2014, the organiser promise to bring us more Bold and Beautiful theme that you would not like to be missed!

It will be held at Bras Basah. Bugis Precinct on two Friday and Saturday, 22- 23 and 29- 30 August from 1900 hours to 0200 hours. Admission is free. Nearest MRT: CC2 Bras Basah Station, EW12/DT14 Bugis Station and NS24/NE6/CC1 Dhoby Ghaut Station.

In this year edition, you will get to enjoy Five key zones that will occupied your night with a great performances line up just for you! It will blow your ~~night~~/ mind off!

The Five Key Zones are stated below:

1) Pretty Arty- National Museum of Singapore
2) Young Hearts- Singapore Management University (SMU) & School of the ARTS (SOTA)
3) Block Party- Armenian Street
4) Festival Village- Cathay Green
5) Roundabout Midnight- Singapore Art Museum (SAM) & Queen Street

On the first night of the Singapore Night Festival 2014 (22 August 2014), I visited the Pretty Arty at the National Museum of Singapore and wanted to catch the first performance here.

Zingo, Festival Drum Group was the first to be performed on stage at 1930 hours. Many audiences are so amazed and attentive watched Zingo performed on stage. Especially, when they saw three ladies and small boy performed and they are full of energetic in beating the drum!

Who would ever imagine that lady could able to play this huge and heavy drum instrument. As they required strength to carry the drum and beat the drum to get music rhythm. At the same time, they also need to coordinate well in order to perform a good show to the audiences. So never ever look down on woman!

Do you know that Zingo is our very own local based Festival Drum Group? Their group motto is Dream Big Drum Loud. I think that this motto really suited them quite well. As long you have the dream, no matter who you are, you are free to achieve your dream and goal! If you dare to dream big dream and play it out loud.

At 2000 hours, William Close (You might find him familiar. He was the contestant and finalist in season 7 of America got Talent. he won himself in third position) performed earth harp. Many audiences are excited to catch him LIVE performance in Singapore! As we can only watched William Close performance via YouTube or National TV show like America Got Talent.

It was an eye opener for everyone to see Mr Close performance in National Museum of Singapore. William Close invented the first Earth Harp in year 1999. It is also the longest stringed instrument in the world which can extend up to 1000 feet in length!

William Close uses National Museum of Singapore and landscape as part of the instrument to perform the Earth Harp. So basically, the architecture becomes the instrument.

At around 2015 hours, William Close and Zingo joint hand together and performed the last beautiful music piece to the audiences.

After that, I walked toward to Festival Village which located opposite The GRAND Cathay and School of the Arts (SOTA). This is the only place where you can find many yummy and delicious International food where you can dine, drink beers and chill out with your friends and loves one with the LIVE Band.

At Festival Village, you can find Cyanea by Cumulus (France). From far, you thought that it looked like a illuminated Jellyfish which was so beautiful. It also looked like a curtain of lit tentacles too. You can admire Cyanea from a distance or walk in and out to enjoy this night display.

At Roundabout Midnight, which is located at Singapore Art Museum (SAM), you can catch the multimedia extravaganza display at the facade of SAM. The theme for multimedia extravaganza known as Spirits of Nature.

It transformed the building into a canvas and showcased the beauty of our Mother Nature. I think they also want to convey the message to everyone that everyone have the part to save our Mother Nature. We should protect it from being harm so that our next generation can able the beauty of our Mother Nature. Everyone have the part to protect our Mother Earth.

After you watched the multimedia extravaganza, you can walk in to the SAM and visit some of the exhibitions which especially created for you and the Admission is free!

At the Ground Level, you can experienced the 3D effect of the maze. In this exhibition, you need to wear the specially-made 3D goggles and a remote to guide you along while walking to the maze.

At first, you thought that it kinda easy to walk from the start to the ending point. But after you wore the 3D goggles, you can felt the challenge to complete the maze. First, you need to get used to it to the surrounding and secondly, you need to avoid by bump into people or walls.

I had tried this and it took me quite awhile to reach the ending point. When I reached the end point, I felt relieved. After you completed this maze, you can rest in the bean bag or relax yourself first.

Still at Ground Level, you can find jelly stick displayed found at the centre of the staircase foyer. You are free to take and enjoy the delicious jelly stick and while seeing the jelly stick going down as the light lit up.

Near to the jelly stick, you can find one exhibition display. At this exhibition, you can write what are your feeling right now and what is your emotional? You can write it down and express yourself. After that you can display to the wall and showcase to everyone.

At First Level, you can visit to the matrix laser exhibition. If you bring your kids, they would definitely love it! You can pretend that you need to solve mission impossible case and you need to avoid the laser to solve the case!

You also can catch a short film which is located at First Level. This short film known as Chicken Rice. It is about Vietnamese who realised that he has Chinese blood in his family. He also cooked the Chicken Rice and mentioned the differences of the Chicken Rice in South East Asia.

East Meets West Mini High Tea Workshop

My aunt and I had a great opportunity to attend East Meets West Mini High Tea Workshop with Chef Allan Teoh and Chef Forest Leong, which was held at Pek Kio Community Club (CC) and it cost SGD$115.

For Passion Card member, they only need to pay SGD$98! I am glad that both of us are Passion Card member!

For the first time, People's Association collaboration with famous Chef Allan and Chef Forest to conduct this exclusive workshop and held at the brand new air- conditional cooking studio (Pek Kio CC used to located at Cambridge Road for 50th Years before shifted to current location at Gloucester Road in year 2013).

Many participants are excited and all dressed well to attend East Meets West Mini High Tea Workshop. Chef Allan was standing outside to welcome us, while the friendly staff, Jennifer issued us a folders which included 6 recipes that both Chef will be demonstrated to us.

These 6 recipes that we going to learn are:

1) Almond Cocktail Jelly
2) Nutty Banana Brownie
3) Green Curry Prawn Quiche
4) Warmed Yam Dumpling with Gingko Nut in Coconut Soup
5) Thai Wrap with Herbs, Palm Sugar Dressing
6) Sweet Glutinous Rice with 2 Toppings
(Sweet Dried Shrimp & Salted Coconut Prawns)

Let me give you a short introduction for Chef Allan Teoh and Chef Forest Leong in case you cannot remembered who are they.

Chef Allan Teoh is famous for his cheesecakes and for those who have been to AllanBakes, a popular Pastry Shop that was once located at Apollo Centre. He is the one who is behind the kitchen to bake a delicious and yummy pastry!

Chef Allan Teoh also a author of AllanBakes- Really Good Cakes, AllanBakes- Really Good Treats and AllanBakes- Really Good Cheesecakes.

Chef Forest Leong is famous for her Thailand food cuisine. She is also a wife of local celebrity Chef Sam Leong. Chef Forest Leong started her traditional Thai culinary when she was 5 years old and grew up in Thailand with her dad who is a chef.

Chef Forest Leong also a author of Home Cooking with Sam & Forest, Cooking Classics Thailand A Step by Step Cookbook and The Best of Thai Home Cooking.

The workshop commenced at 1345 hours with a short introduction by Jennifer. Everyone gave her a round of applause.

Firstly, Chef Allan Teoh will conducted his demo first followed by Chef Forest Leong. We also got the chance to ask questions if we have any doubt or how to improve on making a good pastry.

As some of the cooking demo/workshop are unable to ask any questions and some chef do not have such patient to entertain the participants.

For this East Meets West Mini High Tea Workshop, Chef Allan and Chef Forest had so much patient to answer the participants questions.

They even let the participants to smell and to see the dishes that they had created. They also spent some time to decorate the dining area which really makes us feel like we are having High Tea.

It was a great experience and exposes with the famous chefs. In this workshop, I learnt to know how to make delicious western pantry with bit of Asian taste and even Asian Kueh (snack/dessert) can also displayed for High Tea.

Many people thought that attend such cooking/bakery class at community clubs are for aunties, uncles or elderly, but you are wrong. It is open to all ages.

Bakery and cooking is fun if you have this passionate to learn. Any age groups and genders can learn and master it well if you are willing to learn.

For all youngsters and Man out there, do not be shy to attend this kind of workshop at community club! No one will mock at you to join this workshop.

I got this opportunity to visit to Alive Museum Singapore with my aunt and cousin compliments by Alive Museum Team and SPH OMY.

On 5th August 2014, we met at Promenade MRT Station and visit Burger King at Burger King for our dinner first before visiting to Alive Museum Singapore.

Their lively team crew greeted us warm welcome. They are friendly and they also informed us that the ticket are one time visit and there's no restroom available inside just incase we need to visit to the restroom.

And so, our 3D visual illusion journey at Alive Museum Singapore began...

We are so excited and trying to explore how to make those artworks more lively and interesting when we took the photo..

As this was our first time visiting such a artistic museum with 3D visual illusion entertainment effect, where our imagination go wild and plan our story to have a extremely interesting photographs which we would be captured using our own camera.

Do you ever dream to own your own kingdom and control your citizens? At Alive Museum Singapore, you got this one time only experience to become a Queen or King in this Alive Kingdom!

My cousin and I had so much fun in posing and we pretended that we own this Alive Kingdom and commend our own citizens to kneel down before us!

Oh my GOD!!! Giant gonna captured my cousin!!! What should I do?? Should I sacrificed myself so that my cousin could be freed?

I decided to sacrificed myself and let Giant captured me instead. My cousin trying to pull me and she did not dare to let go of me and wanted to save me!!

I told my cousin, please help me take care of my family! Sob! Good Bye~

We moved on to other artwork. A pregnant mum womb. Have you ever wonder how would you look like inside your mum womb before you will born? This is a good opportunity for you to take photographs of yourself inside a mum womb.

When you are young, you loved to watch 'The Little Mermaid' and loved to sing, 'Under the Sea'. Sometime, you dreamt that you are Little Mermaid and talk to Sebastian the Crab and swim around the ocean.

At Alive Museum Singapore, your dream will be fulfil or rather dream come true! Where you can transform into Little Mermaid! You can be very creative in posing your very own fin!

My aunt, cousin and myself had so much fun posing this Little Mermaid and when we are near to the sensor, it will activate the wind and makes us feel like we are actually under the sea and swimming in the ocean!

This is kinda hilarious where I drank the dog urine in the restroom! There are some of the funny artworks which you can choose from and by using your own imagination to pose!

After that, you will walk through a section which is especially created to Singapore only. This section known as Hero in Singapore.

At this section, you can get to see many Singapore structure and some of the world political leaders, influence person and heroes.

We had so much fun posing ourselves in front of the Singapore famous structure, Merlion!! I find it so cool~

Next, we are heading to DISCO section. Where you can dance to the fullest and enjoy yourself! After that, we saw more hero characters!

We saw Gongfu Pandan, Spiderman, Hulk and many more! We posed many interesting and funny posture! Like kissing the spiderman!!

We also took some of the world famous people photographs at Alive Museum. The Museum also features our Singapore well known iconic building, Marina Bay Sands!

My aunt, cousin and I really thrilled by Alive Museum Singapore!! We spent such a wonderful night and had great experience with Alive Museum Singapore!

I personal think Alive Museum Singapore is a great place to visit, where you can bring your friends and family to spend time together. Most importantly, you get to enjoy yourself and have fun!! I am sure you will be amused by the displays!

On the 23 July 2014, I am very honoured to attend Chef Anna Phua Cooking Demo at Atrix Building at Aljunied MRT which was presented by SPH OMY and STARWATER.

For those who knew me personally would definitely know that I love to cook whenever I am free. By attending to Chef Anna Phua cooking Demo, it will be eyes opening and enrichment knowledge for me in cooking. At the same time, I could able to pickup some healthy cooking tips from Chef Anna Phua so that I can able to cook healthy dishes for my loved one in the future.

When I stepped inside the cooking studio, I saw this elegant STAR5 machine being displayed and I am kinda attracted to it. Many of the participants also noticed this cool STAR5 Machine but none of us knew how this machine works.

While waiting for the event to start, I also do some researches on STARWATER and STAR5 Product as I am very interested and curious on STAR5 machine and the company operates.

Then, David decided to do an experiment on pH demo with different types of beverages and how safe or danger of the water that we loved to drink almost everyday!

Many people thought that by buying mineral water instead of soda drink are considered safe and healthy to drink as the mineral water does not content carbonate but by seeing this pH demo, all the participants are shocked by the result!

Mineral water consists of pH5.0 which consisted Acidic!! Which meant that those people who kept drinking mineral water daily can harm your body!!

After that David also showing us Soda and sport drink which most people loved to drink. Both Soda and Sport drink shared the same pH4.0 which is the second most Acidic water!! Again, participants are shocked by the result too especially the sport drink! As we never know that sport drink can be so acidic with the soda drink.

After that he also showed Singapore tap water and the alkaline water pH. Singapore tap water are considered safe to drink as it consist of Neutral pH7.0 while the alkaline water reaches pH9.0!

David also invited one of his colleague to blow the cup to test if the drink can change to Alkaline pH9.0. When we saw it turned to pH9.0, all of us WOW!! We can't believed in our own eyes! All of us laughed as David colleague told us that he had hard time to blow the cup!

We also given a small cup of alkaline water to try! The alkaline water tasted tasteless and it look like our drinking water. Many people have this concept that alkaline water tasted weird or tasted like medicine and it used recycle water and clean the water to form alkaline water.

If you think this way, you are wrong! Alkaline Water is tasteless and do not smell. It uses the machine to wash your regular tap/running water to form Alkaline water.

It widely used in America as certain part of America states water found pollution and deteriorating. Thus, they need Alkaline Ionizer Water Machine.

In Asia, Japan, Alkaline Ionized Water is widely used as Japanese are very health conscious of what they eat and drink and also due to ageing population is Japan is extremely high. Even the government level also widely accepted as they treated as a health device and act as a cancer curative.

In Korea, most of the Korean households used Alkaline Ionizer Water System and they treated as a health device to let their family to stay healthy as most of them avoid drinking water from the tap water.

Now, it is time for Chef Anna Phua Cooking demo! She will be teaching us 3 dishes and 3 drinks by using alkaline water! The 3 dishes are Energizing Chicken Soup, Korean Pear Salad and Black Sesame Seed Rice. The 3 drinks are Iced Honey Peppermint Lemon Cooler, Iced Green Tea and Ice Lemon with Chia Seed.

Firstly, Chef Anna will be teaching us how to make Korean Pear Salad. Chef Anna told us we should eat fruit first and we should eat healthy and watch what we should eat. Most importantly, we should stay happy!

To prepare Korean Pear Salad, you need

1 Korean Pear,
2 Red Dates,
1 teaspoon of Goji Berry.

To prepare Salad Dressing, you need

2 teaspoons of Yuzu Salad Dressing,
2 teaspoons of Lemon Juice
1 teaspoon of Korean Yuzu Honey.

Chef Anna soak the Korean Pear with Alkaline Ionized Water first and slice Korean Pear into strips. Slice the 2 Red Dates into strips. After that soak and drain up Goji Berries and put into plate. Then, use salad dressing and mixed it together. Now, the Korea Pear Salad ready to be served!

After the Korean Pear Salad, Chef Anna prepared Iced Green Tea with Alkaline Ionized Water. Chef Anna told us that we should drink more Japanese Green Tea as it is healthy, it can improve brain function, fat loss and prevent any diseases. The Japanese Green Tea can get from Meidi-Ya Singapore supermarket at Liang Court.

After that, Chef Anna taught us how to cook Energizing Chicken Soup. To cook this yummy soup, you need the following ingredients:

Herbal Mix 1 Packet,
American Ginseng 10g,
Red Dates 12 pieces,
Mushroom 8 pieces,
Sliced Ginger 6 pieces,
Chicken 600g
Alkaline Ionized Water 2500ml.

Seasoning ingredients:

A pinch of Mushroom Powder,
1 teaspoon of Sea Salt,
Rice Wine,
Sesame Oil.

First, Chef Anna taught us to soak the mushroom with Alkaline Ionized Water till it soften. Then, wash the mushroom and drain the water to make it dry. After that, cut the chicken into pieces. Wash the American ginseng, red dates and then use herbal mix and blend it together with the ingredients.

Put the ingredients into cooking pot and boil. Then, put the mushroom powder, 1 teaspoon of sea salt, rice wine and sesame oil into the soup pot and cover it with Alkaline Ionized Water. Heat and simmer, uncovered. Stir together with ingredients and it ready to serve.

We as the participants get the chance to have up close with the chef in boiling this delicious and tasty soup as we can get to try Energizing Chicken Soup. We are amazed that Alkaline Ionized Water can able to boil such a tasty soup!!

Third dishes will be Black Sesame Seed Rice. You need the following ingredient to cook

Organic Rice,
Alkaline Ionized Water,
Toasted Salted Black Sesame Seeds.

First, wash and soak organic rice with Alkaline water for 4 hours and then drain the water to make it dry by putting it into a big bowl.

After that, separate the organic rice into two small bowl (Korean steam rice bowl). Add 150ml of Alkaline Ionized Water into each bowl. Steam for 30 minutes. Finally, put salted black sesame seeds into the rice and ready to serve!

Now, Chef Anna going to prepare Iced Honey Peppermint Lemon Cooler. To prepare this drink, you need the following ingredients:

1 Lemon,
3 Stalks of Peppermint Leaves,
3 teaspoons of Raw Honey,
600ml of Alkaline Ionized Water

First, wash the lemon with tap water and then soak in Alkaline Ionized Water for 10 minutes. Repeat this step 3 times to thoroughly clean out pesticides. After that, slice the lemon into pieces.

Put the sliced lemons and desired amount of peppermint leaves in a glass jar. Add some 3 teaspoons of raw honey. Finally pour the Alkaline Ionized Water until it is filled up and ready to serve.

The finally drink will be Iced lemon with Chia Seeds. Do you know that Chia Seeds is actually good for us? Why Chia Seeds?

Chia Seeds can helps your diet by making you feel full as they absorb 10 times of their weight in water forming a bulking gel. For athletes, you will loved this! As Chia Seeds can form a bulking gel and they can hydrate your body!

It also helps in weight loss as they reduce in food craving. It also reduce blood pressure. It also consists of Omega 3 and it also benefit for the diabetes as they can control the blood sugar.

To prepare Ice Lemon with Chia Seeds, you need the following ingredients:

1 Lemon,
1 Packet of Chia Seeds,
3 teaspoons of Raw Honey,
600ml of Alkaline Ionized Water

First, wash the lemon with tap water and then soak in Alkaline Ionized Water for 10 minutes. Repeat this step 3 times to thoroughly clean out pesticides. After that, slice the lemon into pieces.

Put the sliced lemons and desired amount of Chia Seeds in a glass jar. Add some 3 teaspoons of raw honey. Finally pour the Alkaline Ionized Water until it is filled up.

Stir it together and let it sit for about 10 minutes. During this time, Chia Seeds will absorb the water and become gelatinous. You can stir it occasionally if the Chia Seeds seem to be floating or falling to the bottom of a glass jar.

Fresh Chia Seeds will float throughout the liquid, while the older Chia Seeds will tend to sink to the bottom. If they sink, it is alright. You will need to stir the Chia Seeds a bit just to keep them evenly dispersed. Finally, you are ready to serve Iced Lemon with Chia Seeds!

All the participants are truly satisfied in this Cooking Demo which presented by SPH OMY and STARWATER! We also get the chance to talk to Chef Anna Phua and David from STARWATER!

After the experiment on pH demo with different types of beverages, I am convinced that drinking alkaline water is safe and it also helps everyone in my family to stay healthy.

As a Singaporean, we love to eat, shop and travel around the world. Recently, we also started to enjoy our life by visiting the cafe island wide or cafe hopping throughout the day as we went through our tedious day.

This is a new trend for cafe hopping in Singapore, especially when there is new cafe setting up their business in difference part of Singapore.

If you want your cafe to be popular, your cafe must be very unique from other cafe (Example, decoration, cafe theme, specialty etc) your cafe must serve good food, dessert and drink.

Most importantly, your price range must be reasonable so that you can attract the customer base through Blogger, Word of mouth and Social Media (Facebook, Twitter and Instragram) and your customer will patronise your cafe again.

When I stepped into Grazia Cafe, you will find this cafe very homely feel. Do you know that most of the cafe decoration are using recycle materials and some are using household items to display in this little humour cafe in the quiet street of Johor Bahru.

The staff served me and passed to me their in-house menu. To my surprised, the menu are handmade by themselves using recycle materials. I can sensed that the owner have a great passionate and put a lot of effort and love to open this cafe.

Do you know that Grazia Cafe bake their own pastry? If you are a cake lover, you should visit to this cafe! When I visited to this cafe, I am extremely fortunate to try their Rainbow Cake as the cafe only left 2 slices!

What makes this Rainbow cake to be so special and unique? The Rainbow cake are handmade and the owner used chocolate rice instead of using chocolate paste which reduce sweetness. The colouring of the cake are just nice. Furthermore, this Rainbow cake are delicious and not too sweet compared to other cafe.

I also ordered Korean Citron Tea while enjoying my rainbow cake. Do you know that Caramel milk are made of Goat milk? You can try it when you visit to this cafe.

Many of you might wonder, does Grazia cafe provided free WIFI since we are in Malaysia and we wanted to save cost by not using auto-roaming to post selfie photos through IG or FB?

While exploring around the pre-war shop houses at Jalan Dhoby area or aka 新山老街 (Xin Shan Lao Jie) which the local Chinese will call it, you can find many interesting shop and cafe around this area. Jalan Dhoby is also very near to the Malaysia-Singapore Cross Border Custom.

I found a unique cafe known as 'Roost Juice + Bar! I was attracted by the rustic design from their outside. Many people might think that this look like someone home but it actually a cafe!

So, out of my curiosity, I open the metal door, the friendly staff gave me a warm welcome. On top of that, I am extremely amused by the cafe decor! It gave me a rustic ambience.

The cafe owner spent so much effort in decoration this prewar house lot. The cafe decoration are so retro and kinda antique (Vintage furnitures) that you are hardly find such items anywhere else which has the most collections in this cafe! If you are into retro or antique stuff, this cafe you should not be missed!

As this is a pre-war shop houses, the staircase will be quite steep compared to standard staircase. So, I slowly climb up their steep staircase to First Floor (2F) to find a seat.

You will be WOW! if you are here! I really fall in love with this cafe! The cafe owner managed to retain most of the interior designs from this prewar house and at the same time, added antique collections to this cafe.

It seem like the time travelling you back to the oldie 60's-80's. Where you get to enjoy to the oldie classic English song, get to chill out with their rustic ambience while enjoying the night scenery from the window.

Since you are at Roost Juice + Bar, you should try their signature Mango Tango which is highly recommended! I loved their Mango Tango! It freshly made Mango and I can taste the sweetness!

Maco Vintage located in the old charm city of Johor Bahru which the local Chinese known as 新xin 山shan 老lao 街jie (Johor Bahru Old Street). It quite near to many cafes nearby like Chaiwalla & Co. Container Cafe and Roost Juice + Bar.

When you step in to Maco Vintage Cafe & Bakery, you might thought that it was a pretty small cafe but once you walk inside, you will amazed that this Cafe & Bakery are quite big and they do have upper floor if you would wish to organise your own gathering here.

The interior of the cafe are sleek and ambience here are quiet relax especially on Saturday weekend. What makes Maco Vintage Cafe & Bakery so special that everyone should visit? They are famous for their delicious and yummy Mille Crepe with more than 20 different limited flavours for you to order and relax yourself in this lazy afternoon.

I ordered their signature Rainbow Mille Crepe and Caramel Macchiato. I enjoyed their Rainbow Crepe and the Caramel Macchiato. It's such a great combo for me to chill out in this humid Saturday. I even had a chance to catch up a book to read. ^^

When I just stepped in to Tous Les Jours, I am so amazed how beautiful this cafe decorated! It look so finest. They also provided free wifi access. This is very useful to tourist who do not purchased Malaysia local prepaid sim card so that they (tourists) can still reach out to their friends and families while travelling in Kuala Lumpur.

Tous Les Jours offer All Day Breakfast where you can get to enjoy their delicious and tasty breakfast cuisine. I ordered Wolo Eggs Benedict and Banana Ricotia Cheese & French Toast!

Soon, the food was served. I enjoyed myself having Wolo Eggs Benedict and Banana Ricotia Cheese & French Toast although it was around 3pm.

When you visit to Kuala Lumpur, there is one cafe which is strongly recommended and you should not be missed. This cafe is known as LOKL Coffee & CO.

LOKL Coffee & Co is located at 30 Jalan Tun H S Lee which is a walking distance from Masjid Jamek LRT Station Exit 3/4. At Masjid Jamek, you will find many historical building surrounding here.

Even LOKL Coffee & Co situated at whole stretch of prewar shop houses and co-shared with BackHome Hostel.

When you step into the cafe, you will feel that you are travelling back to 70's local coffee shop. Especially their dining table and chair! The cafe crew members are extremely friendly and cool!

I ordered Waffle with Chicken, Pulled Beef Cheese Burger with Fries and Almond Salted Caramel Crepe.

Soon, the food was served. They used traditional metal plate to serve the food. I tried Waffle with Chicken. The Waffle was tasty and warm. If they could make the waffle crispy, it will be great! The Chicken was very tendered, crispy and juicy! Nom.. Nom.. Nom!

For those Beef lover, you will be definitely love it! For Pulled Beef Cheese Burger with Fries, the beef extremely juicy with the taste of the melting cheese~ It so yummy! For the fries kinda salty which I personally do not like it.

Finally, it's dessert time!! The crew served Almond Salted Caramel Crepe. When I first bite the crepe, I can tasted the Almond and the thick caramel taste! It so crunchy.

Wonder Mama X situated opposite World Tallest Twin Towers, Suria Kuala Lumpur Civic Centre (KLCC).

Wondermama cafe concept is set around 50-70's era. It gave me Peranakan and retro feeling due to their cafe design.

Their friendly staff greeted me as I patronise Wondermama. Their warm smiled melt your heart and you felt very comfortable. The waitress handed over the menu and a sample order list for reference.

If you loved Asian Food, you definitely will love Wondermama X as they serve local food cuisine!

I ordered Iced Teh- O (Black Tea), Nyonya Laksa and Nyonya Mee Siam. Soon, they served me very retro cup and bowl which can be reassemble in the 50-70's where your parents or your grandparents will be eating out at the road street.

After which, the waitress presented Nyonya Laksa! This Nyonya Laksa is totally from what you eat in Singapore. Wondermama added Prawn for this Nyonya Laksa. The prawn that I ate was sweet and very fresh!!

Their Nyonya Laksa kinda spicy and very shiok (Wow feeling). For those who can't eat spicy, this is not suitable for you!

After that, I was served with Nyonya Mee Siam. I loved the way they present the Nyonya Mee Siam. Mee Siam contains: Deep fry chicken with fry egg slices and cucumber slices.

They never pour in the Mee Siam sauces and separated out by giving another small cup, so that the customer can pour it themselves and how spicy that they can manage to eat. Furthermore, it will not turn out very soggy.

When you enter to the hotel lobby, you will be thrilled and you won't believed that it used to house as a school before and you might that this building should be shop houses instead of school!

The concept are kinda retro and yet unique in the heart of Little India. This hotel also won Architectural Heritage Award in year 2011.

The staff are friendly when you checked in to your hotel room. The staff will issued out the Itinerary booklet and the hotel access card.

The Itinerary booklet contains your hotel address location (If you decided to explore yourself around the heart of Little India or visit to the city), your hotel room WIFI passwords, Local Emergency contact number (Police) and few pages of notes for you to joint down your own itinerary aka dairy.

At Wanderlust hotel, you can choose 3 different room categories which is, Pantone, Mono and Whimsical that you would like to stay with them. The most popular category will be Whimsical as there are 5 themes to choose from. These 5 themes are, Bling’ , ‘ASCII’, ‘Space’, ‘Tree’ and ‘Typewriter’.

Especially the Space theme, which is very popular to the youngster who would like to stay in their space room. Although I could not able to stay at their Space theme, but I managed to stay at Typewriter theme room. It is duplex room that makes the room look quite big.

I loved the room layout and their decorate. Just that it will be quite tiring if you climb up and down the steep stairs!

Plus this room included rain shower and bath tub. The hotel also provided Shanghai Tang brand for you to enjoy your shower and relaxing!

You will be thrilled to use their outdoor colourful jacuzzi! It's so lovely which you won't resist by it!

Revisit Haw Par Villa

Haw Par Villa is a Chinese mythology theme park in Singapore. Many of you might visited to Haw Par Villa in the early 90's where Singapore do not have much attractions at that time. To some of you, Haw Par Villa was your childhood outing memories.

Some of you might remembered riding the water boat ride, where it will be travelled to 10 courts of hell via the Dragon Mouth to view the sculptures. During the boat journey, many parents would told their children that if you did something bad, you will end up to the gate of hell and will be punished in differences courts which you committed the crime.

For those who are more adventurous, you would loved the water slide as it was the only thrill ride at Haw Par Villa. You also can get to enjoy the live Chinese troop performance at the arena.

Soon, Singapore leisure industry start to prosper and many new and latest attractions are being built and it gave Haw Par Villa a big threat to survive of it own attraction.

Soon after, Haw Par Villa are getting less popular due to their costly entrance fee, inaccessible of transportation and less attraction to visit. Soon, it just died off. In March 2001, the Singapore Tourism Board renamed it "Tiger Balm Gardens" and the park admission is free.

Although there is a MRT station built right in front of the entrance and the admission is free, but somehow it could not attract any visitors as the park lack of eatery and there are not much entertainment attractions.

I think we should preserve our heritage and revive Haw Par Villa to it glory era once again. As it brings a lot of memories to most Singaporeans.

The authority perhaps should organise more culture events at Haw Par Villa and let the young Singaporean and the tourist to know more on Chinese heritage and better understanding of the Tiger Balm Gardens. Or they could add on more entertainment attractions and eatery stall to attract more visitors.

Journey to Seletar

Many of you might find Seletar very familiar but you are uncertainly not sure where Seletar is located. Seletar is an area of Singapore within its North- East Region. It near to Yishun, Sengkang West and Jalan Kayu.

Seletar used to house The British Air and Naval Bases in the 1930s. It served as both a military airbase and a civil airport until 1937, when the new Kallang Airport are ready and able to handle all civilian flights.

In 1965, Singapore gained independance. As part of the British military's withdrawal from Singapore, RAF began its phased handover of the airbase to the Singapore government in 1968.

To commemorate the memories of RAF personnel who used to station at Seletar during the British British colonial rule in Singapore, the RAF Seletar Association decided to display the cairn outside the main guardhouse and was sponsored by Rolls-Royce on 31st March 2013.

The Cairn wrote as follow:

SINGAPORE

This cairn, created using material from an old RAF building at Seletar,
was unveiled by members of the
RAF SELETAR ASSOCIATION
31st March 2013
(exactly 42 years after the RAF Station Closed)

This Cairn commemorates the period 1926 to 1971, when the facility
was built for and operated by officers, airmen and airwomen of the
ROYAL AIR FORCE
(From 1928 until 1937 it also functioned as Singapore Airport)

This cairn is also dedicated to the many thousands of British, Colonial and
Commonwealth civilians, who built, managed and maintained
the facility during that period.

I was posted to Seletar during my National Service. It indeed bring back a lot of memories when I revisited Seletar. I remembered, I used to wait for SBS #103 before the main guardhouse bus stop to the camp or took 15 minutes walk to the camp.

The main guardhouse are still functioning till year 2002 till the guardhouse shifted further inside. The guardhouse facade and the building still remain and refurbished with a new purpose. To educate our next generation to lead us in the future. You can find Chatsworth Kindergarten in the former glory of the main guardhouse.

I decided to walk in and took some photographs along the way. I remembered there used to have golf course during 2008 but after which, the golf course removed and it became empty field. Are you curious that why inside Seletar, you can find so many British Road name like Piccadilly, St Martin Lane, Oxford Street, Baker Street etc?

It because by naming those street name based in England, it will make the British less homesick and let them feel more comfortable as through they are at home.

I used to walk this long straight road to the camp in the wee morning but I loved it because it was so cooling and I enjoyed the morning mist.

Soon, I reached Blk 398 Canteen. This canteen kinda old school. Or rather Kampung Style of canteen. This canteen sell the cheapest drinks and food! Especially their coconut rice! This canteen used to be very near to Seletar camp before the camp moved to it new premises.

Those who posted to Seletar should recalled the old camp opposite Blk 179 CCO canteen used to sell very famous and tasty Wanton Noodles and mixed vegetable rice. The stall owners are very friendly. We used to patron them whenever we are free especially for breakfast.

In year 2011 onwards, Seletar went through re-devolpment to build a Aerospace hub. Some of the Colony houses are still managed to preserve but some of the Colony houses that near to the camp unfortunate demolished to make way for Aerospace Hub.

Now the guardhouse and the CCO canteen are gone (demolished) and it is now construction site where you can see from the photographs above.

I really missed their food and the CCO canteen. I am sure many of you agreed with me.

Nearby to the Seletar camp, you can find many abandoned colonial buildings around this area. I am not sure all those buildings, what are their story and what their purposes. If you stayed such building before, you are welcome to share the story with us.

Malacca 2014

Ever since I travelled to Malacca last year, I fall in love with this Historic State that I decided to travel back to Malacca and booked the same hotel, Hatten Hotel for my short trip vacation! I also booked coach ticket from Grassland Express and Tours Pte Ltd.

From Singapore to Malacca takes approximately 4.5 to 5 hours by coach (About 198.01 km). Along the journey, the bus driver will stop at Yong Peng, Johor, Malaysia. So that the bus driver and the passengers can rest and grab food before continuing the journey to the North or South.

From Yong Peng, you can grab the local Prepaid Sim card to get connected to the outside world especially in this social-media era where you need to Facebook, Instagram, twitter and etc.

I strongly recommend you to get DIGI BEST! Prepaid where you start to connect to the outside world instantly! It is easy to use as it comes with Normal/Micro SIM Card where you can put it inside to your phone without cutting it!

If you worry that they will conned your money just to get the prepaid card, DIGI BEST! Prepaid cost RM10.80 (SGD$4.15) and you are required to top up/reload RM20 in order to use it. They also required your passport to register (BY LAW and Nation Security Purpose. Similarity to Singapore LAW where it required all prepaid user to register in order to use it due to Nation Security ACT).

Still if you still think that they will still conned your money, head down to DIGI AUTHORISED Shop or you continue your journey without connecting to outside world till you reach Malacca.

Finally, the bus reached Malacca district and I am rather annoyed by bus driver. They did not knew where HATTEN HOTEL located and they just simply asked us to alight (First alight at Malacca Hotel! I told the driver that this is not HATTEN HOTEL and he kept saying it in Bahasa Malaysia [BM](Malaysia National Language). I told him to wait and I called the hotel and asked the hotel staff to speak with the bus driver in BM.

So we continue the journey again. Soon, he told us to alight again. I even showed him the photos and told him that it is near Mahkota Parade and I need to call the Hotel again and them ask for direction! Because of the bus driver did not even know their direction!!

Finally, the bus driver get it right and alight us at HATTEN HOTEL!!! This is the worst nightmare from GRASSLAND bus driver!! I never encountered this before where the bus driver did not know the location when they are scheduled to drive Malacca. We are so worry that when we depart back to Singapore, the bus driver did not know the hotel location and fetch us!! We LOL.

After that, we went to Check in counter and informed that our hotel room is not ready and asked us to return back at 3pm to get our hotel room. So we went to Malacca biggest shopping mall, Dataran Pahlawan Melaka Megamall.

We went straight to A&W to have Root-beer and Waffle ice cream! As Singapore did not have A&W anymore, so most Singaporeans will make an effort to dine in A&W when they are in overseas! After that we went back to Hatten Hotel to get our room key.

I am very delighted that I got sea view room although it faced Mahkota Medical Centre (Hospital). After settled down our hotel room, we went out and explored Malacca Place of interest!

We went to St Paul hill and visited to St Paul's Church. It is a historic church building in Malacca and was originally built in 1521.

After that, we head down to Christ Church Melaka. It founded in 1753 and this is the oldest functioning protestant church in Malaysia!

Then, we slowly walked over to Jonker Street and explored the area. Do you know that weekends, Jonker Street will turn into bazaar street during evening time, where visitors can try the local cuisine or get the latest gadgets through the bazaar stalls.

While walking, we discovered a new cafe in the historic state of Malacca and you won't believe it! The Daily Fix Cafe founded in 2014 and located inside NEXT KK SDN BHD. You won't know there is cafe inside unless you step inside the shop.

The Daily Fix Cafe decoration very homely and makes you so comfortable and most of the delights are made by the lady boss! For instant, Gula Melaka Cake (Palm sugar Cake). For those who have sweet tooth will definitely love this!! It only cost at RM4.50 (SGD1.73)! For such a tasty and delicious cake, it is consider very cheap!

You can also order a cup of coffee to chill first before continue exploring Jonker Street and at the same time, relax yourself and enjoy your life in this historic state! Please noted that The Daily Fix Cafe only deal in Cash Term only!

After that we continued our journey and explored around. We saw many historic place of worship buildings which are over 100 years old! It is so amazing they are still in good condition!

After that, we went to the famous Jonker 88 for their Ice Chendol! This place is very crowded and it took us quite a while before we could find a seat to enjoy their dessert! This is the place where you should not be missed!!

If you are Dim Sum lover or carving for Dim Sum, you should not missed this small bazaar which sell Dim Sum at a reasonable price! The bazaar stall is located near to Geographer Cafe. You can choose any Dim Sum that you liked and just pay them!

If you realised that the Jonker Street is actually a Arts and Culture street where you can find many interesting things that you would never see it elsewhere!

If you are smoker, Jonker Street are prohibited smoking area! You will be FINE if you are caught smoking! Please smoke at designated place and obey the Law and Orders.

If you love Mamee, you definitely going to love this!! You can able to get Mamee merchant and World's Best instant noodles 2014, Mamee instant noodles can be found at Jonker house!

It is the first and only Mamee boutique store in Malaysia! Not only that, they also have cafe for visitors to dine in and museum which are going to open soon!

After that, we walked over to A'Famosa Fort which we should not be missed! As it is part of the Malacca heritage attraction that visitors should come here to visit! After that, you can take a ride from the well decorated trishaw and explore Malacca or you may choose to shop in Malacca largest shopping mall, Dataran Pahlawan Melaka Megamall/Mahkota Parade.

If you visit to Dataran Pahlawan Melaka Megamall/Mahkota Parade, there is one crepe cafe which you should not be missed! Nadeje Cake Shop is well-known in Malacca. If you visit Nadeje after 12pm, it will be very crowded and you might need to wait before you can try their delicious crepe!

During the night, you can catch a movie, if you cannot get used to their local cuisine, you can eat at their 24 hours McDonalds. Even at night, this city never sleep as the road full of vehicles.
