Tyler has been tweeting that he is going to be the next great film maker for a few weeks now, and I guess this is him throwing his hat in the ring. The black Scorsese even turns himself into a coke sniffing minotaur.

“Rella” is a track from the upcoming “OF Tapes Vol. 2″ Record.  The truth is, pretty much everything in this video is less shocking and less visually stimulating than any Die Antwoord video. I don’t see how anyone over the age of 16 is like “Wow, these guys are edgy.”

Finally, a video for “Car Song” from Spank Rock’s 2011 record “Everything Is Boring and Everyone is a F—ing Liar”. It starts out with some trippy, abstract visuals that continue to get more bizarre until we’re faced with naked women painting each other.

Digging it. Also digging Santigold in that coat above.

Everything that “Black Hippy” churns out right now just seems to take their collective (and individual) game(s) to another level.

In “Cartoons & Cereal”, Black Hippy’s Kendrick Lamar features Maybach Music’s Gunplay over a 6 and 1/2 minute brooding soundscape that is matched with equally dark lyrics. ScHoolboy Q’s “Habits & Contradictions” was my (super) early choice for album of the year, but now I’m hyped to hear a new Kendrick record. There have been pics all over of him in the studio with Q-Tip and Pharrell, so it’s going to be a big year. Production by THC on this one.

Sir Michael Rocks and Chuck Inglish aka The Cool Kids finally drop a video for “Rush Hour Traffic”, which includes some amazing visuals from director Joey Garfield and animator Elliot Lim. One of my favorite things about the Cool Kids is the effortless way they blend the past and the future and that aesthetic is triumphantly on display here with both the music and the visuals.

But, I guess a lot of people are into what “the poor man’s Kanye West” does, so here you go. Below is the video for “Heartbeat”, which seems like the prequel to Kanye’s “Flashing Lights”. After that we have one of the remixes by Oliver and link to grab the remix record from the Itunes store.

Jay Z and Kanye finally dropped the video to one of the most overplayed songs of 2011, Niggas in Paris. There are some interesting kaleidoscope and mirror effects in this video and a much needed warning to those that suffer from epilepsy. But overall, “That Shit Meh.”

Also, not a fan of Kanye’s voice 99% of the time when I hear him live. Bathroom STAAAAAALLLLL. Irritating.

David Choe has been blowing my mind all week.

The morning after the Facebook IPO was announced, stories broke about the graffiti artist who painted up Facebook’s office taking stock as payment instead of cash and now possibly owning over $200 million in Facebook stock.

Digging around the world wide web, I found his Vice travel series called “Thumbs Up”, where he travels across China. (Note: 90% of the video content on Vice is dope as fuck. If you like documentaries about shit that nobody else is covering, that’s a good place to spend a few hours…or you could go stalk girls on Facebook…it’s your time, bro. Use it how you want.)

I didn’t even talk about his art, yet. Google it.

Anyway, I’m fascinated by David Choe and luckily he stopped by Howard Stern earlier this week to dive into some issues that no other news media would likely touch. I hope he got to sleep with Robin.

Two great mixtapes dropped on Super Bowl Sunday that you may have missed while M.I.A. was busy giving you the finger. Gucci Mane’s Trap Back (download here on datpiff) is a strong collection of tracks, including “Chicken Room”, which is featured in the video below.

Curren$y announced on twitter a few minutes before the big game that he was releasing a free 5-song EP called “Here”.  Looks like the original link is down now, but 2dopeboyz put up a mirror here for download.

I still listen to Big Boi’s “Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty” non-stop and am waiting for the follow-up later this year.
